The effects of transpiration rate on B uptake by roots and translocation to shoots of table beet (Beta vulgaris L. cv. Red Ace) plants were studied under conditions of environmental control. Plants grown under high or low relative humidities (RH) had low or high rates of transpiration, respectively. Dry weights and B contents of shoots and roots were higher among plants grown at 80% RH and B concentrations of roots were lower compared to plants grown at 30% RH. Shoot B concentrations were not affected by RH. Rates of growth and B accumulation in shoots were closely correlated for plants grown in 30% or 80% RH. These parameters were not closely correlated in roots.

The rate of B uptake per g root dry weight was greater in plants having higher transpiration rates; whereas the rate of B translocation to shoots per g dry weight was independent of transpiration rate. Thus we propose that B translocation to shoots is controlled mechanistically by rates of dry matter accumulation during stages of rapid growth, i.e. a sink effect.  相似文献

It has been shown that thermal processing of tomatoes and sweet corn results in increased antioxidant activities despite the loss of vitamin C. Until now, it is unclear whether this positive effect of thermal processing occurs with all crop produce. Therefore, analysis of a root vegetable (beets) and of a legume (green beans) was undertaken to address this question. Antioxidant activity of beets processed under typical commercial processing conditions remained constant despite an 8% loss of vitamin C, a 60% loss of color, and 30% loss of dietary folate. There was a slight but significant 5% increase in phenolic content of processed beets. In contrast, vitamin C and dietary folate content of green beans remained constant, whereas a 32% reduction in phenolic compounds occurred after typical commercial processing conditions. The antioxidant activity of green beans was reduced by 20%. These findings along with previous works suggest that the effects of thermal processing vary with the respective produce crop type. It also reinforces the concept that optimal health benefits may be achieved when a wide variety of plant foods (fruits, vegetables and whole grains) and preparation methods are incorporated into the diet.  相似文献

Geosmin provides the characteristic but sometimes undesirable "earthy" flavor to red table beets. To date, it is not known whether geosmin is a byproduct of beet metabolism or synthesized by soil-borne microorganisms and taken up by the beets during maturation. Analysis of mature beet roots revealed that peels contained 6 times the amount of geosmin compared to the bodies and cores. Sterilized beet seeds were aseptically grown in a basal medium prior to analysis for the presence of geosmin. Using a headspace solid-phase microextraction (HSPME) method, the relative recovery of geosmin from beet seedling extracts was 72.0 +/- 4.2% with (-)-menthone as the internal standard. The presence of geosmin in aseptically grown beet seedlings was confirmed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry using authentic geosmin as the standard. During aseptic growth, the concentration of geosmin in seedlings remained constant for up to 5 months but increased at 6 months. Geosmin added to the growth medium was not absorbed by the seedlings. These studies support the conclusion that red beets are capable of endogenous synthesis of geosmin.  相似文献

An improved analytical method for the determination of geosmin in red beets was developed using headspace solid-phase microextraction (HSPME). Volatiles of beet juice were extracted in headspace for 2 h using a polydimethylsiloxane/divinylbenzene fiber, thermally desorbed from the fiber, and analyzed by gas chromatography. The HSPME method was determined to be suitable for geosmin analysis as evidenced by high relative recovery (99.2%), low relative standard deviation (7.48%), and reasonable detection limit (1 microg/kg of beet root tissue). The concentrations of geosmin in four beet cultivars ranged from 9.69 +/- 0.22 to 26.7 +/- 0.27 microg/kg, depending on cultivar.  相似文献

低磷胁迫对不同基因型甜菜抗性生理特征的效应   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1  
选用对低磷胁迫抗性各异的3个甜菜品种:品20、品17和品14,在人工培养室内采用沙培试验法,研究了甜菜抗耐低磷胁迫的生理机制。结果表明,低磷胁迫限制了甜菜对磷的吸收,导致植株含磷量和生物产量显著下降;不同品种间差异显著,品14降幅最大,品17次之,品20最小。与足磷处理(P 100μmol/L)相比,低磷胁迫后甜菜品种间体内抗性生理特征差异显著。其中,品14和品17的丙二醛含量、脯氨酸含量、过氧化物酶活性均显著增加;品20的丙二醛含量、脯氨酸含量极显著下降,而过氧化物酶活性变化不显著。叶片中Mg2+-ATPase活性降低,不同品种降幅各异,从小到大依次为品20品17品14,其中品20与后两者间的差异均达显著。品20和品17体内的钙调素(CaM)含量显著增加,而品14变化不明显,其相对值从大到小依次为品20品17品14,差异显著,与品种自身抗磷胁迫能力顺序一致。不同磷素营养条件对甜菜抵御外界不良环境有较大影响,叶片在受到热伤害时,抗磷胁迫能力较弱的品14和品17在低磷胁迫时质膜损伤率显著增加;而抗磷胁迫能力较强的品20叶片质膜的损伤率显著下降,抗热能力得到改善。  相似文献

针对安徽省直播冬油菜产量水平不高和施肥效率较低的问题,通过大田试验研究氮磷钾硼肥对安徽省直播冬油菜产量、经济效益、养分吸收利用和肥料利用率的影响。结果表明,氮磷钾硼肥配合施用处理的籽粒产量和产值最高,分别达1 850 kg/hm2和7 583元/hm2,各肥料增产顺序为NPKB;扣除肥料成本,施肥效益为NPB≈K。NPKB处理的各养分吸收积累也最高,缺氮和缺磷处理显著降低油菜地上部各养分吸收积累。NPKB处理在产量、施肥效益、养分积累和肥料表观利用率、贡献率上均高于农民习惯施肥处理。说明在安徽直播油菜栽培时,农民需改变沿袭下来的移栽油菜的施肥技术模式,推广使用新的氮磷钾硼肥配合施用技术模式。  相似文献

This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of zinc, added into compound fertilizer in the production process, and zinc applied together with compound fertilizer on yield and quality component of sugar beet in 2009–2010.The treatments consisted of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK) (12-30-12) compound fertilizer; 2. NPK (12-30-12) compound fertilizer + zinc sulfate and NPK (10-20-20) + 1% Zn compound fertilizer. Root yield, sugar percentage, white sugar percentage (WSP), white sugar yield (WSY), alpha-amino nitrogen, sodium and potassium concentration were investigated in this study. A total of 5 kg ha?1 zinc application on sugar beet significantly increased the yield and quality of sugar beet; the rate of increase was in the range of 4.62–6.97% in root yield, 2.09–5.75% in sugar percentage, 2.60–8.03% in WSP and 7.84–13.06% in WSY. NPK (10-20-20) + 1% Zn compound fertilizer and NPK (12-30-12) compound fertilizer + zinc applications increased the sugar beet yield and quality values in both years.  相似文献

Studies were carried out on the interaction between potato scab, soil pH and exchangeable calcium in two different fields, one consisting of volcanic ash soil and the other, of red-yellow soil. Severity of potato scab in the field with red-yellow soil was correlated with the soil pH, unlike in the field with volcanic ash soil. The amount of exchangeable calcium in both soils was positively correlated with the scab index of potato tuber, when the content of exchangeable calcium in soil exceeded 150 mg per 100 g soil. From these results, it was concluded that the content of exchangeable calcium is as a more reliable parameter than the soil pH to evaluate the severity of potato scab.  相似文献

采用四因素五水平二次正交旋转回归试验方法,在影响甘蓝型中熟品种油菜泌蜜量的施肥诸因素中,选择氮、磷、钾、硼的施用量作为生产上的决策变量,以油菜的泌蜜量为目标函数,所得结果通过计算机数据分析,建立了二次回归数学模型。对模型的主效应和交互效应的分析结果表明,磷素和钾素是影响油菜泌蜜量的主要控制因子;根据试验结果筛选出油菜泌蜜量的最佳施肥方案N 150 kg/hm2,P2O5 126 kg/hm2,K2O 157.5 kg/hm2和H3BO3 7.5 kg/hm2。  相似文献

Salinity and sodicity are prime threats to land resources resulting in huge economic and associated social consequences in several countries. Nutrient deficiencies reduce crop productivity in salt‐affected regions. Soil fertility has not been sustainably managed in salt‐affected arid regions. Few researchers investigated the crop responses to phosphorus and potassium interactions especially in saline–sodic soils. A research study was carried out to explore the effect of diammonium phosphorus (DAP) and potassium sulphate (K2SO4) on sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) grown in a saline–sodic field located in Kohat district of Pakistan. The crop was irrigated with ground water with ECiw value of 2.17–3.0 dS/m. Three levels each of K2O (0, 75 and 150 kg/ha) as K2SO4 and P2O5 (0, 60 and 120 kg/ha) as DAP were applied. The application of P significantly affected fresh beet and shoot yield while K fertilizers had significant effect on fresh beet yield and ratio of beet:shoot, while non‐significant effects on the fresh shoot were observed. The application of K1 and K2 promoted sugar beet shoot yield by 49.2 and 49.2% at P1 and 64.4 and 59.7% at P2, respectively over controls. In comparison with controls, fresh beet yield was increased (%) by 15 and 51, 45 and 84, and 50 and 58 for corresponding K1 and K2 at P0, P1 and P2, respectively. Addition of P1 and P2 increased beet yield by 37 and 47% over control. The shoot [P] (mmol/kg) were achieved as 55.2, 73.6 and 84.3 at P0, P1 and P2, respectively. The shoot [Mg] and [SO4] tended to decrease with increasing P levels, while [SO4] was markedly reduced at P2. The effect of P on leaf [Na] was non‐significant, but increasing levels of K decreased [Na] substantially at P0 and P1, but there was no difference in the effect of K level on [Na] at P2. Consequently, K application reduced leaf Na:K ratios. Fresh shoot yield was weakly associated with leaf [P] (R2 = 0.53). The leaf Na:K ratio showed a negative relationship (R2 = 0.90) with leaf [K]. A strongly positive relationship (R2 = 0.75) was observed between leaf [K] and fresh beet yield. The addition of K2SO4 also enhanced [SO4] and SO4:P ratios in leaf tissues. The ratio of Na:K in the shoot decreased with increasing K application. These results demonstrated that interactions of K and P could mitigate the adverse effects of salinity and sodicity in soils. This would contribute to the efficient management of soil fertility system in arid‐climate agriculture.  相似文献

Increasing growth and productivity of food crops via safe biostimulants is a very important issue in the current years. This study aimed to investigate the potential of moringa leaf extract (MLE) in improving the performance of snap bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cv. ‘Paulista’ under field conditions. Hormonal analysis of MLE revealed its richness of various classes of phytohormones particularly salicylates. The results revealed that all MLE concentrations had a positive effect on growth, biochemical, yield, and yield related traits as well as yield quality of snap bean compared to control, and the effect was dose-dependent. Moreover, increasing pods yield of snap bean may be related to gibberellins (GA7) content than other plant hormones. In conclusion, the leaf extract of moringa provides a good source of phytohormones that have a positive role to stimulate growth and productivity of snap bean plants.  相似文献

Abstract

Fall trunk injections of 200 g K in K2SO4 solution or up to 300 g K in K2HPO4 solution had no effect on sweet cherry mid‐shoot leaf K in August. Phosphorus content was significantly increased in buds in March and midshoot leaves in August one year by fall injection of K2HPO4 (79.2 g P).

Spring trunk injections of 12.5 g K (K2S04 or K2HPO4) in prune increased leaf K within four days and K levels remained higher than controls for at least 22 days with K2SO4 Leaf P was increased within four days by K2HPO4 and was higher than controls in August.

Fruit set in sweet cherry was significantly lower on trees injected with 200 g K (K2S04) and 300 g K (K2HPO4). Yield was significantly lower for all injection treatments and was probably caused at least in part by reduced fruit set. Fruit quality was not affected by K injections.  相似文献

对甘蓝型油菜品种中双10号和中油杂5号苗期进行水淹处理模拟湿害胁迫,运用“3414”肥料效应田间试验方案,研究湿害胁迫下施肥量对油菜产量的影响。结果看出,施氮磷钾肥对湿害胁迫下的油菜产量性状有重要影响。灰色关联分析表明,施氮量与每角粒数、单株角果数和一次分枝数、二次分枝数和主花序长呈显著正相关;施磷量与单株角果数和每角粒数呈显著正相关;施钾量与每角粒数、千粒重和主花序长有呈显著正相关的趋势。湿害胁迫下,保证中等水平的磷肥和钾肥,增施氮肥可显著提高油菜的单产、投产比和经济效益。通过建立肥效与产量间的效应函数方程,在湿害危害严重的油菜种植地区,适宜肥料用量为:N 267 kg/hm2、P2O5 120 kg/hm2、K2O 120 kg/hm2。  相似文献

Abstract

An established stand of Ranger alfalfa was topdressed with equal rates, but different combinations, of N, P, and K. Five harvests were taken and the material analyzed for cation concentrations.

Phosphorus application significantly increased P concentrations in alfalfa, but had little influence on concentration of other ions. Potassium applications showed striking effects by significantly increasing K levels of the forage while decreasing Ca, Mg, Cu, Zn, Al, and Mo levels.

Significant differences occurred among harvest dates for 14 of the 16 cations analyzed. Seasonal trends were evident for SiO2, Zn, Al, Co, and Na.

Applied N, P, and K and available soil P and K were associated with cation concentration of alfalfa and these interrelationships are discussed.  相似文献

Summary In this paper the variation pattern of the Sicilian Beta germplasm collection is analysed. Accessions from Sicily were grown under controlled conditions and were evaluated morphometrically. Geographical distribution patterns of morphological characters are identified and the putative classification of the collection into coastal and inland populations is reassessed. Between adjacent populations significant variation was found for Petiole length, Leaf length, Leaf width and Biomass, however no one variable unambiguously reflected a geographical pattern. Overall differences between coastal and inland populations were small. Petiole length and rate of generative development were found to be important for distinguishing between these groups. Interferences are drawn on how the collection from Sicily could be rationalized to avoid excessive duplication.  相似文献

Abstract

Six cultivars and three lines of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) were planted at two locations in Delaware in 1974 and 1975. Potassium fertilizer (KCl) at 0, 56, or 223 kg/ha actual K was added to the soil and the plants were evaluated for seed yield and incidence of gray‐moldy and purple‐stained seed.

Potassium application was related to a decrease in yield in one year at one location but had no significant effect in the other year or at the other location. Cultivars differed in yield over the two years, with Kent, Cutler 71, and York having the most consistent yield in this study. The pathogen incidence was not affected by potassium application in contrast to earlier studies with soybeans grown in aluminum cylinders with a partially restricted soil volume. In this study, gray‐moldy and purple‐stain was highest in short season cultivars and higher at Georgetown than at Newark.

Use of soybean cultivars resistant to diseases as well as maintaining adequate soil potassium levels should reduce high levels of disease.  相似文献

Abstract

Potassium sulfate was applied to established, non‐irrigated, K deficient trees on fine textured soil by banding, placing in augered holes and injecting into the soil. Additional trees received a heavy compost mulch in early fall. Trenches were dug in the fall beside trees to break roots and then were backfilled with K2SO4, dolomite lime or a combination of the two. One percent K solutions of KNO3 or K2SO4 were sprayed on trees four times during the growth season.

Sweet cherry trees only responded to compost mulch applications within two years. August midshoot leaf K, leaf N and fruit size were increased within one year however tree growth and yield were not affected. Fruit size and shoot growth were partially dependent on August leaf K level.

August midshoot leaf K of prune trees was increased within one growing season by all treatments except trench plus lime. Trees receiving compost also had increased levels of leaf N, P, Ca, Mn, Fe, Cu and B. Yield and shoot growth were increased only by compost mulch applications. Fruit size was partially dependent on August leaf K levels.  相似文献

【目的】研究叶片矿质营养元素含量的季节性变化,对探明植物体中营养元素的丰缺状况、 调控养分代谢、 提高果实产量和改善品质具有重要意义。本研究结合常山胡柚园土壤养分状况,通过连续4年施用钙肥和硼肥,研究钙、 硼对常山胡柚叶片矿质营养元素含量的季节变化、 果实产量及品质的影响。【方法】采用田间定位试验,以13年生枳砧常山胡柚为试验材料,设4个处理,1)CK(对照); 2)Ca(每株0.5 kg生石灰粉); 3)B(每株25 g 硼砂); 4)Ca+B(每株0.5 kg生石灰粉+ 25 g 硼砂)。于试验的第4年采集常山胡柚不同生长期当年生春梢叶片及成熟期果实样品,并对常山胡柚叶片矿质营养元素含量的季节变化、 果实品质进行分析。【结果】常山胡柚叶片各矿质养分在果实逐渐成熟过程中总体呈现先增后降的变化规律,其中叶片氮(N)、 钾(K)、 镁(Mg)和锌(Zn)在果实坐果期达到最大值,磷(P)在果实膨大前中期(8月份)到达最大值,钙(Ca)、 硼(B)、 铁(Fe)、 锰(Mn)和铜(Cu)在果实膨大后期(9月份)出现最高值。钙、 硼肥施用均可提高常山胡柚果实各发育时期叶片Ca、 B、 N、 K、 Fe、 Mn和Cu含量,但明显抑制叶片Zn的吸收,其中钙、 硼配施对成熟叶片(8~9月份)Ca含量存在显著正交互效应,但对提高叶片B含量无显著交互作用。施钙、 硼肥可不同程度提高常山胡柚2年平均产量,增产率达到1.8%~21.4%,其中各处理增产率顺序为Ca+B>B≥Ca,且单施硼可显著提高2年累积产量,钙硼配施对单年产量、 2年平均产量均存在显著正交互效应。钙、 硼肥单施对果实品质无显著性影响,但钙硼配施可显著降低可滴定酸含量,显著提高固酸比。【结论】常山胡柚坐果期(4月份)为叶片N、 P、 K、 Mg和Zn吸收的关键时期,果实膨大期(8~9月份)为叶片Ca、 B、 Fe、 Mn和Cu吸收的重要时期。钙、 硼配施既可明显提高常山胡柚叶片中矿质营养元素含量(P和Zn除外),又能显著提高果实产量和品质。  相似文献

种植方式和施氮量对冬油菜产量与水氮利用效率的影响   总被引:2,自引:5,他引:2  
为确定中国西北地区冬油菜适宜的种植方式及其施氮量,该文通过3 a田间试验,在垄沟集雨(ridge film mulching and furrow planting,RFMF)和传统平作(flat planting,FP)2种种植方式下设置6个施氮量:0、60、120、180、240和300 kg/hm~2(以N计,下同),分别记为N0、N60、N120、N180、N240和N300,研究不同种植方式和施氮量对冬油菜产量和水氮利用效率的影响。结果表明,与FP相比,RFMF能显著提高冬油菜收获时的地上部干物质量(aboveground dry matter,ADM)、氮素累积吸收量、籽粒产量、水分利用效率(water use efficiency,WUE)和氮肥偏生产力(nitrogen partial factor productivity,NPFP),并显著降低其耗水量(evapotranspiration,ET)。相同ET下,RFMF方式下冬油菜的籽粒产量和WUE均高于FP。RFMF方式下,在0~240 kg/hm~2施氮范围内,冬油菜的ADM、氮素累积吸收量、籽粒产量和WUE均随施氮量的增加而显著增加,超过240 kg/hm~2,ADM和氮素累积吸收量不再显著变化,而ET显著增加,籽粒产量和WUE显著降低。2种种植方式下,冬油菜的氮肥农学利用率(nitrogen agronomic efficiency,NAE)、生理利用率(nitrogen physiological efficiency,NPE)和吸收利用率(nitrogen recovery efficiency,NRE)均随施氮量的增加,先增后降,且基本在N180处理最大;冬油菜的NPFP随施氮量的增加而降低。RFMF方式下,N240处理冬油菜的NAE、NPE、NRE和NPFP与N180处理无显著差异;且N240处理冬油菜的籽粒产量和净效益最高,3a平均为3 002 kg/hm~2和9 538元/hm~2;FP方式下,N180处理冬油菜的籽粒产量和净效益最高,3 a平均为2 291 kg/hm~2和7 498元/hm~2;2种种植方式的最高产量和净效益相比,RFMF可分别提高31.0%和27.2%。综上,在西北地区RFMF可应用于冬油菜的栽培,且适宜施氮量为240 kg/hm~2。  相似文献

Polyphenol oxidase (PPO) has been extracted from beet root, in both soluble and membrane fractions. In both cases, the enzyme was in its latent state, and it was activated by sodium dodecyl sulfate. PPO was purified to apparent homogeneity. The soluble PPO purification was achieved by hydrophobic interaction chromatography and gel filtration chromatography, with apparent molecular mass of 55 kDa. The membrane PPO purification was achieved by anion exchange chromatography and gel filtration with apparent molecular mass of 54 kDa. A totally denaturing SDS-PAGE indicated the presence of a single polypeptide with an apparent molecular mass of 60 kDa for both fractions, with the band also revealed by Western blot. A partially denaturing SDS-PAGE stained a single active 36 kDa band for both fractions. Under native isoelectric focusing, a major acidic band of pH 5.2 was detected in both fractions. Kinetic characterization of PPO on the natural substrate l-dopa was carried out.  相似文献
