Water chemistry data on which all the investigations in the AL:PE 1 (Acidification of Mountain Lakes: Palaeolimnology and Ecology) and AL:PE 2 (Remote Mountain Lakes as Indicators of Air Pollution and Climate Change) projects are based, are available for 28 lakes in U.K. (Scotland), Italy, Norway and France (AL:PE 1) and in Svalbard (Norway), Ireland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Russia (AL:PE 2). The results show high sulphate concentrations in some mountain lakes in all the countries. Nitrate and sulphate concentrations have different distribution patterns among the sites. A gradient in acidification from north (Norway) to central Europe (via U.K. to Italy) is identified for the AL:PE lakes by means of multivariate data analysis. Critical loads and their exceedance are calculated, where sufficient information is available, both according to the leaching of S, and of S plus N from the catchment. The pattern of critical load exceedance demonstrates an increasing importance of nitrate from Norway via U.K. to Italy. Leaching of N was of considerable importance to the acidification of lakes in the Italian Alps. The projects receive financial support from the European Union.  相似文献

土壤胶体是土壤具备肥力与生态功能的物质基础,土壤胶体凝聚与分散影响着土壤中一系列微观过程和宏观现象。采用动态光散射技术比较研究三种碱金属阳离子(Li+、Na+、K+)引发不同类型黏土矿物(2︰1型蒙脱石和1︰1型高岭石)胶体凝聚中的Hofmeister效应。研究发现,Li+、Na+、K+作用下蒙脱石、高岭石胶体的凝聚速率、临界聚沉浓度及活化能都存在明显差异,表现出强烈的Hofmeister效应。当电解质浓度为20 mmol·L–1时,K+引发蒙脱石胶体凝聚的速率为66.61 nm·min–1,远高于Na+、Li+引发蒙脱石胶体凝聚速率(5.93、4.41 nm·min–1);而与之对应的临界聚沉浓度则呈现K+(蒙脱石21.8 mmol·L–1、高岭石34.6 mmol·L–1)低于Na+(蒙脱石57.6 mmol·L–1、高岭石85.8 mmol·L–1)低于Li+(蒙脱石81.8 mmol·L–1、高岭石113.9 mmol·L–1)规律,胶体凝聚中活化能可合理解释此现象。电解质浓度为25 mmol·L–1时,Li+、Na+、K+引发蒙脱石、高岭石胶体凝聚的活化能分别为1.97 kT、1.43 kT、0 kT和2.94 kT、1.71 kT、0.49 kT,说明蒙脱石、高岭石胶体凝聚过程中Hofmeister效应序列均为Li+相似文献

This paper presents scenarios computed with IMAGE 2.0, an integrated model of the global environment and climate change. Results are presented for selected aspects of the society-biosphere-climate system including primary energy consumption, emissions of various greenhouse gases, atmospheric concentrations of gases, temperature, precipitation, land cover and other indicators. Included are a “Conventional Wisdom” scenario, and three variations of this scenario: (i) the Conventional Wisdom scenario is a reference case which is partly based on the input assumptions of the IPCC's IS92a scenario; (ii) the “Biofuel Crops” scenario assumes that most biofuels will be derived from new cropland; (iii) the “No Biofuels” scenario examines the sensitivity of the system to the use of biofuels; and (iv) the “Ocean Realignment” scenario investigates the effect of a large-scale change in ocean circulation on the biosphere and climate. Results of the biofuel scenarios illustrate the importance of examining the impact of biofuels on the full range of greenhouse gases, rather than only CO2. These scenarios also indicate possible side effects of the land requirements for energy crops. The Ocean Realignment scenario shows that an unexpected, low probability event can both enhance the build-up of greenhouse gases, and at the same time cause a temporary cooling of surface air temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere. However, warming of the atmosphere is only delayed, not avoided.  相似文献

Secondary and trace elements may be limiting soil microbial functioning, albeit microbial demand and content remain largely unknown and methods for their in situ detection are limited. Thus, the objective of the present study was to take the first step towards the method development for the assessment of the soil microbial ionome, that is, the elemental composition of soil microbial communities. Chloroform (CHCl3) fumigation extraction was used for the detection of microbial CHCl3-labile secondary and trace element concentrations in soils. The suitability of two extractants (NH4NO3, CaCl2) for the quantification of CHCl3-labile concentrations of phosphorus, sulphur, potassium, sodium, and magnesium, as well as selenium, iron, zinc, manganese, copper, cobalt, nickel, molybdenum, vanadium, boron, silicon, barium, arsenic, and cadmium, were tested in six agricultural soils. Additionally, three soil to extractant ratios (1:5, 1:10, and 1:20) and two extraction durations, 1 or 2 h, were tested in a subset of two soils. Out of the two extractants tested, 0.01 M CaCl2 was found to be the best-suited extractant. For CaCl2, a soil-to-extractant ratio of 1:20 with an extraction time of 1 h was best for the majority of elements in the two soils tested. In a limited number of agricultural soils, we were able to show that CHCl3 fumigation extraction can successfully be applied to the elements phosphorus, sulphur, potassium, sodium, magnesium, zinc, manganese, copper, nickel, vanadium, boron, silicon, and barium to yield a CHCl3-labile element fraction. Conversion values to microbial biomass, accounting for elements contained in the cell envelope components, which are mostly not extractable, and to account for adsorption to soil colloids during extraction are yet to be determined in a larger variety of soils. To overcome some of the limitations of the fumigation extraction approach for secondary and trace elements, a pre-extraction step may provide a suitable solution.  相似文献

Wild rice (Zizania spp.) grows in shallow waters of North America and is distinct from brown and white rice (Oryza spp.). The recent trends toward gluten‐free foods and ancient grains present an opportunity for increased interest in the health benefits of wild rice. Wild rice is classified as a whole grain and typically contains 75% carbohydrate, 6.2% dietary fiber, 14.7% protein, and 1.1% lipids. Wild rice is a good source of dietary fiber and has nearly double the amount of protein of white rice. The lipid content is low; however, most of the lipids are essential omega‐6 (35.0–37.8%) and omega‐3 (20.0–31.5%) fatty acids. In addition to macronutrient content, wild rice contains phytosterol levels several times higher than white rice. Furthermore, the antioxidant activity of wild rice is 10–15 times higher than white rice. A series of rat studies in which wild rice was added to a high fat, high cholesterol diet found significant attenuation of serum free fatty acids, total cholesterol, and triglyceride levels while maintaining higher high‐density lipoprotein levels compared with a control diet. The exact explanation of the protective mechanism of wild rice is uncertain, but the dietary fiber, phytosterol, or antioxidant capacity of wild rice may be the reason for it. Current interest in whole grains and gluten‐free diets, as well as antioxidants and phytochemicals, makes wild rice an attractive grain addition to the diet.  相似文献

采用正交回归试验设计,研究了 N、K、Mg 肥用量和配比对甘蓝产量的影响,获得了相应的函数模型;通过微机对数学模型的优化和解析,得出甘蓝获得最高产量(111.89 t/hm2)时,尿素、硫酸钾、硫酸镁用量分别为 465.19、97.38、28.48 kg/hm2;3 种肥料的最佳施用量分别为 460.37、96.14、28.36 kg/hm2,此时,肥料成本投入为 818.98 元/hm2,施肥利润为 42895.59 元/hm2,产投比可达 52.4:1。  相似文献

There is renewed interest in adopting hulled wheats (emmer, einkorn, and spelt) into our food system, because of their nutritional qualities and improved organoleptic properties. Current research findings have been concisely put together in this review to show the extent of the current and past work in this area and suggest additional research areas. Breeding programs for hulled wheats have received a great deal of attention, and their research findings have shown potential to generate genotypes with improved qualities. More work is required to investigate the changes in nutritional and structural composition of hulled wheats during and after processing and to develop suitable processing methods.  相似文献
