The effect of tillage management on NH3-N volatilization and its influence on succeeding corn (Zea mays L.) silage production were studied at the University of Massachusetts Agricultural Experiment Station (South Deerfield, MA) during 2010–2012 growing seasons. Tillage treatments consisted of disking before and after manure application, solid-tine aeration before and after manure application, and no-till management. The greatest NH3-N loss (61 percent) occurred within the first 8 h after slurry manure application regardless of tillage management. The greatest NH3-N emission occurred with surface application (no-till), which ranged between 5.2 and 10.3 kg NH3-N ha?1 (9–20 percent of NH3-N applied) over the 3 years of the study. Immediate incorporation of manure into soil through disking reduced NH3-N loss by 66 to 75 percent. Ammonia loss abatement with aeration before or after manure application ranged from 13 to 41 percent compared with surface manure application. Tillage management did not influence corn silage yield or quality.  相似文献

Abstract

Conventional (CT) and no‐tillage (NT) effects on soil physical properties and bromide (Br) movement were studied at two locations in North Carolina. The soils were a Norfolk sandy loam (fine‐loamy, siliceous, thermic Typic Paleudult) at a North American eastern Coastal Plain location and a Pacolet sandy clay loam (clayey, kaolinitic, thermic Typic Kanhapludult) at a Piedmont location. Bulk density (Db), macroporosity (Mp), and saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) were measured in the plant row (R) and trafficked (T) or untrafficked (N) interrow positions. Simulated rain was applied at two intensities to 1?m2 plots after KBr was surface applied. The first simulated rain (30 min) consisted of a low (1.27 cm h?1) or a high (5.08 cm h?1) intensity applied 24 h after Br application. One week later, the high rainfall rate was repeated on all plots. Soil samples for Br determinations were taken 2 days after each rain simulation event to a depth of 40 cm and at the end of the growing season to 120 cm. Soil physical properties were affected by both tillage and position. Bulk density was greater for NT than for CT and in the T compared with R and N row positions. Mp was significantly greater in NT than CT at Coastal Plain location, but the results were opposite at the Piedmont location. Saturated hydraulic conductivity was highly variable ranging from 0.36 cm h?1 to 14.4 cm h?1 at the Coastal Plain location and from 0.06 cm h?1 to 7.12 cm h?1 at the Piedmont location. Saturated hydraulic conductivity at T position was about 100% lower than Ks at N and R positions, but the effect of tillage system was not significant on Ks. The surface 10 cm of soil contained the greatest Br concentration for both tillage systems. For the first and second sampling dates, greater Br movement occurred under NT vs. CT. However, no significant differences were observed in Br movement in the end of season sampling. Because of the coarser soil texture, greater Ks and Mp at the Coastal Plain location, Br moved, to a greater depth at this site than at the Piedmont site.  相似文献

A unique test chamber system, which enables experiments with plants under highly controlled environmental conditions, was used to examine the pollutant removal efficiency of plants. For this purpose, the removal of two different volatile organic compounds (VOC) (toluene, 2-ethylhexanol) from the air by aerial plant parts of two common indoor plant species (Dieffenbachia maculata and Spathiphyllum wallisii) was monitored. While the control over environmental conditions (temperature, relative humidity, CO2 content, and light condition) worked very well in all experiments, control experiments with the empty chamber revealed high losses of VOC, especially 2-ethylhexanol, over the test duration of 48 h. Nonetheless, compared to the empty chamber, a significantly stronger and more rapid decline in the toluene as well as in the 2-ethylhexanol concentrations was observed when plants were present in the chamber. Interestingly, almost the same VOC removal as by aerial plant parts could be achieved by potting soil without plants. A comparative literature survey revealed substantial heterogeneity in previous results concerning the VOC removal efficiency of plants. This can be mainly attributed to a high diversity in experimental setup. The experimental setup used in the current study offers an excellent opportunity to examine also plant physiological responses to pollutant exposure (or other stressors) under highly controlled conditions. For the analysis of VOC removal under typical indoor conditions, to obtain data for the assessment of realistic VOC removal efficiencies by plants in rooms and offices, a guideline would be helpful to achieve more coherent findings in this field of research.  相似文献

[目的]探索东灵山亚高山草甸的退化等级与植被特征,为该区生态系统的保护和可持续利用提供理论依据和技术支持。[方法]采用样方调查法研究东灵山亚高山草甸的植被特征。根据退化程度分级,并通过从优势种变化、物种多样性和地上生物量等参数,比较分析不同退化程度亚高山草甸的退化特征。[结果]人类活动是草甸退化的主要影响因子,退化最严重的区域位于海拔2 100~2 200m的位置;按照人为干扰程度和草甸植被覆盖度,将退化亚高山草甸划分为重度退化、中度退化、轻度退化和无明显退化4个等级。[结论]随着退化程度加重物种数呈减少趋势,Shannon—Weiner指数、Pielou指数和Simpson's指数均逐渐降低,地上生物量也相应减少。其中无明显退化草甸的物种数为28,优势种主要有卵穗苔草、地榆、珠芽蓼、矮紫苞鸢尾、紫苞风毛菊等,地上生物量是516.4g/m2;而重度退化草甸的物种数仅14种,地上生物量为58.3g/m2,平车前和蒲公英变为优势种。  相似文献

Flour was obtained from oats fermented with lactic acid bacteria (LAB) to study the effect of fermentation on the physical properties and the suitability of fermented oats for use in starch noodle production. The results showed that fermented samples had a significantly lower pH than control samples. Gel strength and amylose content initially increased and then decreased (P < 0.05) with fermentation time. The peak viscosity, breakdown, final viscosity, and setback value decreased with fermentation time. Fermented noodles showed a higher hardness and springiness. In particular, Lactobacillus plantarum (LP) induced the highest springiness, cohesiveness, gumminess, chewiness, and resilience over 12 hr of fermentation. The cooking quality evaluation indicated that fermentation improved the quality of oat starch noodles. Fermented oats resulted in noodles with low cooking loss and higher cooking weight compared to noodles made from fresh flour. The use of LP for 12 hr of fermentation time yielded noodles of the best quality.  相似文献

[目的]为了增加中国干旱半干旱地区农田土壤蓄水保墒能力。[方法]采用野外试验和室内分析相结合的方法研究了深松和深松结合秸秆还田耕作技术对晋中北部地区两种主要类型土壤物理特性的影响。[结果]深松可以打破土壤犁底层,显著降低黏土和壤土10—30cm土层范围内的土壤容重;调节土壤孔隙度,增加了黏土10—30cm土层范围内的土壤总孔隙度、毛管孔隙度和非毛管孔隙度,同时增加壤土10—30cm土层土壤总孔隙度、毛管孔隙度和20—30cm土层土壤非毛管孔隙度;改善黏土和壤土20—30cm土层土壤固、液、气3相状况;深松结合连年秸秆还田进一步优化了壤土耕层环境,同时显著降低了玉米拔节期土壤地表结皮的厚度和紧实度。[结论]深松结合连年秸秆还田和深松耕作技术可以缓解土壤板结状况,增加降雨入渗。  相似文献

The carbonate profiles of Chernozems bear important information on soil processes and can be successfully used for paleoenvironmental reconstruction. In the Northern Caucasus region, Russia, carbonate profiles of Chernozems were compared under anthropogenic (irrigation) and natural changes of moisture regime. The results for irrigation served as the basis for understanding the response to natural climatic changes. A soil chronosequence, consisting of soils buried under archaeological mounds dated to >5000, 3800–4000 and 1600–1700 BP and modern surface soils, was studied in a similar way. The soils buried >5000 and 3800–4000 BP had distinctive migrational and segregational carbonate accumulations (CAs). The migrational forms occurred in the surface horizons and contained 89–92% calcite with the highest dissociation temperatures. In the soils buried 1600–1700 BP the carbonate profile was clearly defined in terms of migrational CAs; they occurred only in the deeper horizons, had no clear boundaries and were diffused throughout the soil mass. In the modern surface soils the migrational CAs have almost disappeared, and the segregational CAs have the largest halos of recrystallised carbonates. The values of δ13C for CAs in the soils buried >5000 and 3800–4000 BP were lighter than in the soils buried 1600–1700 BP and the modern surface soils (−10.6‰ to −9.9‰ and −9.6‰ to −8.8‰, respectively). We conclude that the climate of the region during the second half of the Holocene changed from relatively dry and warm in the Atlantic period (>5000 BP) to more humid and cooler in the early Subboreal (5000–4000 BP). Since 4000 BP the climatic conditions have remained relatively stable with some changes in moisture regime resulting from human activities in recent centuries.  相似文献

为研究不同耕作模式对土壤理化性状和作物经济效益的影响,对皖南地区4种典型耕作模式(单季稻种植、油稻轮作、麦稻轮作、烟稻轮作)的土壤和作物产量进行了研究。结果表明:与单季稻种植相比,轮作显著降低了土壤含水量;麦稻轮作和烟稻轮作土壤体积质量显著增加,孔隙度显著降低;麦稻轮作土壤有机质和碱解氮含量分别显著降低35.8%和47.8%;烟稻轮作土壤速效钾含量显著增加68.2%,速效磷含量提高109.5%。油稻轮作和烟稻轮作总产值比单季稻种植分别显著增加35.3%和155.5%。为解决轮作对土壤的不良影响,要注重增施有机肥和秸秆还田以改善土壤体积质量和孔隙度;麦稻轮作应重点解决土壤p H降低的问题;烟稻轮作要减少烟后晚稻的磷肥和钾肥施用量。总体而言,油稻轮作和烟稻轮作是皖南地区维护农田土壤肥力,促进农业可持续发展,实现农业增产增收的重要耕作模式。  相似文献

为了对黑土区坡耕地退化程度进行全面、综合、客观的诊断与评价,通过文献计量法和频度分析法对国内外耕地退化评价文献内的高频指标进行了统计分析,建立了适用于东北典型黑土区坡耕地退化程度诊断与评价的指标体系(TIS)。同时以拜泉县为研究区域,通过聚类分析建立了土壤退化程度诊断与评价最小指标集(MIS)。结果表明:(1)TIS共包括物理、化学、生物和侵蚀特征因子4类共11项指标:腐殖质层厚度、黏粒含量、有机质含量、pH值、坡度、垄坡角、沟壑密度、容重、水稳性大团聚体含量、土壤阳离子交换量和作物产量,其中前6项指标组成了MIS。(2)研究区未退化土壤占12%,轻度退化土壤占12%,中度及以上退化土壤占76%。坡度可能是影响研究区土壤退化的主要因素之一,坡度与垄坡角之间存在协同关系。此外,施用农药、化肥以及连作导致土壤酸化问题突出。  相似文献

We present an approach for estimating physical parameters in nonlinear models that relies on an approximation to the mechanistic model itself for computational efficiency. The proposed methodology is validated and applied in two different modeling scenarios: (a) Simulation and (b) lower trophic level ocean ecosystem model. The approach we develop relies on the ability to predict right singular vectors (resulting from a decomposition of computer model experimental output) based on the computer model input and an experimental set of parameters. Critically, we model the right singular vectors in terms of the model parameters via a nonlinear statistical model. Specifically, we focus our attention on first-order models of these right singular vectors rather than the second-order (covariance) structure.  相似文献

Soil capacity to support life and to produce economic goods and services is strongly linked to the maintenance of good soil physical quality (SPQ). In this study, the SPQ of citrus orchards was assessed under three different soil managements, namely no-tillage using herbicides, tillage under chemical farming, and no-tillage under organic farming. Commonly used indicators, such as soil bulk density, organic carbon content, and structural stability index, were considered in conjunction with capacitive indicators estimated by the Beerkan estimation of soil transfer parameter (BEST) method. The measurements taken at the L'Alcoleja Experimental Station in Spain yielded optimal values for soil bulk density and organic carbon content in 100% and 70% of cases for organic farming. The values of structural stability index indicated that the soil was stable in 90% of cases. Differences between the soil management practices were particularly clear in terms of plant-available water capacity and saturated hydraulic conductivity. Under organic farming, the soil had the greatest ability to store and provide water to plant roots, and to quickly drain excess water and facilitate root proliferation. Management practices adopted under organic farming (such as vegetation cover between the trees, chipping after pruning, and spreading the chips on the soil surface) improved the SPQ. Conversely, the conventional management strategies unequivocally led to soil degradation owing to the loss of organic matter, soil compaction, and reduced structural stability. The results in this study show that organic farming has a clear positive impact on the SPQ, suggesting that tillage and herbicide treatments should be avoided.  相似文献
