One hundred seventy-six crossbred weaned pigs (4 to 5 wk old) were used in two growth trials to determine the effect of excess arginine on pig growth and plasma amino acid levels. In the first 28-d growth trial, two lysine levels (1.03 and 1.26%) and three arginine levels (.94, 1.29 and 1.63%) were used in a nested treatment arrangement. Lysine supplementation improved daily gains (P less than .05), tended to improve feed efficiency (P less than .12) and caused a general reduction in plasma essential amino acid levels. Arginine had no effect on daily gain or feed intake, but pigs fed 1.03% lysine and 1.63% arginine had reduced gain/feed (P less than .05). Arginine did not affect gain/feed of pigs fed 1.26% lysine. Plasma lysine levels were reduced (P less than .06) by excess arginine in pigs fed 1.26% lysine, but not in pigs fed 1.03% lysine. The four treatments for the second 26-d growth trial consisted of three diets containing .92% lysine and either .72, 1.10 or 1.61% arginine and a positive lysine control (1.10% lysine, .72% arginine). Lysine was the limiting amino acid in the basal diet, but arginine had no effect on daily gain, daily feed intake, gain/feed or plasma lysine levels. Plasma threonine and methionine levels were reduced by excess arginine in both experiments, while the other plasma essential amino acid levels were not affected by dietary arginine. Conclusions are that large excesses of added arginine may affect lysine utilization, but pig performance was affected only when excess arginine was combined with a lysine deficiency. The arginine levels similar to those found in grain-soybean meal swine diets had no effect on pig performance in these experiments.  相似文献

Three experiments were conducted to determine the effects of excess arginine on performance, plasma amino acid levels and N balance of young pigs (initial weights 6.9, 7.0 and 10.3 kg, respectively). In a 28-d growth trial, various amounts of arginine (0 to 1.6%) were added to a conventional starter diet. Addition of arginine decreased (P less than .01) average daily feed intake (ADFI) and gain (ADG), but had no effect on feed efficiency (G/F). Plasma urea, arginine and ornithine concentrations were elevated (P less than .001) by the increasing dietary arginine levels at d 14 and 28. Plasma histidine levels were reduced (P less than .01) at d 28. Plasma lysine levels exhibited a cubic response (P less than .05) at d 14, but were not affected by excess arginine at d 28. In a second growth trial ADFI and ADG were decreased (P less than .05), but G/F was not affected by the addition of 1.6% dietary arginine. Lysine supplementation (0, .15 or .30%) increased performance in the absence of excess arginine, but the main effect of lysine was not significant for any performance criteria. As in the first experiment, plasma concentrations of urea, arginine and ornithine were increased (P less than .001) by the addition of arginine. Plasma histidine was not affected by either arginine or lysine. Plasma lysine levels were reduced (P less than .001) by dietary arginine and increased (P less than .001) by lysine. In a N balance experiment, addition of 1.6% dietary arginine increased N digestibility, but decreased apparent biological value. Nitrogen balance was not affected by added arginine. Lysine addition did not improve any of these three indices of N utilization. The inability of lysine supplementation to alleviate any of the adverse effects of excess arginine in young swine indicates that the reduced performance is caused by a generalized amino acid imbalance, and not by a specific interference with lysine utilization in the manner of a classical arginine-lysine antagonism.  相似文献

Six experiments were conducted with newly weaned pigs (8 kg) to evaluate the effects of 4% excesses of DL-methionine, L-tryptophan, L-threonine, L-lysine or L-arginine on growth or "choice" (i.e., self-selection) when added to 20% protein, corn-soybean meal (C-SBM) diets. Arginine was supplied as the free base and lysine as lysine acetate to avoid acid-base problems. In the growth study, gain was reduced 52, 31, 28, 16 and 5% by additions of methionine, arginine, tryptophan, lysine and threonine, respectively. Small decreases in gain/feed occurred in pigs fed diets with excess methionine or lysine. Feed intake depressions were evident in pigs fed excess methionine or excess tryptophan within 1 d after initiation of the growth trial. Self-selection studies revealed that pigs strongly preferred the control diet over any of the diets containing excess amino acids. Further studies indicated that pigs preferred diets with excess threonine, lysine or arginine over those containing an equal excess (i.e., 4%) of methionine or tryptophan. Moreover, there was a tendency for pigs to prefer the diet with excess threonine over the one containing excess lysine or arginine. Also, pigs clearly preferred the diet with excess methionine over the diet containing excess tryptophan. When given a choice between a protein-free diet and a C-SBM diet containing 4% excess tryptophan, pigs initially (d 0 to 4) preferred the protein-free diet, but later adapted to the extent that during the last 4 d of the 12-d trial they consumed more of the tryptophan-imbalanced diet than of the protein-free diet.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To determine the effects of various concentrations of L-lysine and L-arginine on in vitro replication of feline herpesvirus type-1 (FHV-1). SAMPLE POPULATION: Cultured Crandell-Reese feline kidney (CRFK) cells and FHV-1 strain 727. PROCEDURE: Uninfected CRFK cells or CRFK cells infected with FHV-1 were cultured in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium or in 1 of 7 test media containing various concentrations of lysine and arginine. Viral titer and CRFK growth rate were assessed in each medium. RESULTS: Media depleted of arginine almost completely inhibited viral replication, whereas 2.5 or 5.0 microg of arginine/ml of media was associated with a significant increase in FHV-1 replication. In media with 2.5 microg of arginine/ml, supplementation with 200 or 300 microg of lysine/ml reduced viral replication by 34.2 and 53.9%, respectively. This effect was not seen in media containing 5.0 microg of arginine/ml. Growth rates of CRFK cells also were suppressed in media containing these concentrations of amino acids, but they were not significantly different from each other. CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Arginine exerts a substantial growth-promoting effect on FHV-1. Supplementation of viral culture medium with lysine attenuates this growth-promoting effect in media containing low concentrations of arginine. Analysis of data from this study indicates that high concentrations of lysine reduce in vitro replication of FHV-1 but only in media containing low concentrations of arginine. Clinical trials will be necessary to determine whether supplemental administration of lysine, with or without arginine restriction, will be useful in the management of cats with FHV-1 infections.  相似文献

A series of trials with cross‐bred, day‐old chicks was carried out to check on the specificity of the arginine‐lysine interaction postulated by several workers. We have concluded that this interaction is a nonspecific manifestation of a general phenomenon of amino‐acid detoxification. Our conclusions are, in part, based on the following observations:

Amino acids other than lysine could be shown to depress growth. Isonitrogenous supplements of phenylalanine and of methio‐nine caused much more severe growth depressions than equivalent amounts of lysine. The addition of arginine plus glycine partially alleviated these depressions although much more effectively for lysine than for phenylalanine or methionine. There was no reciprocity in the arginine‐lysine interaction; i.e. excess arginine added to lysine‐deficient diets had no depressing effect.  相似文献

Three experiments were conducted to estimate the lysine requirement of the weanling pig and the effects of excess arginine and threonine on that estimate. Feeding 1.15% dietary lysine in Exp. 1 and 1.20% in Exp. 2 maximized feed efficiency and resulted in the lowest plasma urea N values. Adding .15% threonine to the diets in Exp. 2 did not affect (P greater than .10) performance of the pigs, but increased (P less than .01) plasma urea N and decreased (P less than .01) plasma lysine concentrations. Supplemental arginine (.22%) did not affect performance of the growing pigs in Exp. 3, but it increased (P less than .01) plasma urea N. Pigs fed a corn-soybean meal diet utilized feed more efficiently (P less than .05) than those fed a corn-fish meal-dried whey diet. The most likely cause for this response was that the corn-soybean diet contained more lysine (.82%) than expected, whereas the corn-fish meal-dried whey diet had close to the expected content of lysine (.72%). From these results, it was concluded that the lysine requirement of the weanling pig fed practical diets is at least 1.15 or 1.20% of the diet. Also, added arginine or threonine did not adversely affect the performance of pigs.  相似文献

Kinetic properties and substrate specificity of the lysine transport system in porcine mammary gland were studied using mammary tissue explants from nine lactating sows. Sodium dependence of lysine uptake was determined by replacing sodium in the medium with choline. Kinetic parameters of lysine uptake were determined using lysine concentrations from 5 microM to 5.12 mM. Competition of lysine uptake by other amino acids was determined using the cationic amino acids, arginine and ornithine, and using other essential amino acids. Transport of lysine was time-dependent and was unaffected by replacing sodium with choline. Lysine uptake occurred by a transport mechanism with a Km of approximately 1.4 mM and a Vmax of 7.9 mmol x kg cell water(-1) x 30 min(-1). Lysine uptake was inhibited by arginine and ornithine and by high concentrations of L-alanine, L-methionine, L-leucine, cycloleucine, and D-lysine, but not by 2-(methylamino)-isobutyric acid. This transport mechanism is the primary system responsible for uptake of cationic amino acids in lactating sow mammary tissue. The relatively high Km, compared with physiological blood concentrations of lysine, indicates that the kinetic properties of the lysine transport system should not be limiting to milk protein synthesis. Transmembrane transport of lysine by lactating sow mammary tissue should be a direct function of plasma concentrations. However, interactions of other amino acids with the uptake system may affect lysine uptake.  相似文献

1. A chick experiment was designed to test whether the proven effect of excess protein on the requirement for lysine was associated with the arginine content of the protein. 2. Protein contents of 180, 220, 260 and 300 g/kg diet were fed in combination with lysine concentrations of 38, 43, 48, 53 and 58 g/kg crude protein and arginine concentrations of 49.4 or 68.4 g/kg crude protein. 3. Growth rate and efficiency of food utilisation were not significantly affected by the arginine content of the protein. Significant responses to lysine were obtained at all protein contents. 4. Lysine required for maximum growth or maximum food efficiency increased in direct proportion to the protein content of the diet and was not affected by arginine content of the diet within the range of concentrations tested.  相似文献

Requirement for dietary lysine and arginine by fry of rainbow trout   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Triplicate lots of fry of rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) were fed a basal diet (47% protein) containing 67% corn gluten meal with and without a mixture of essential amino acids. The composition of the mixture was based on the differences between the amino acid contents of corn gluten meal and trout eggs. Fry fed the basal diet without added essential amino acids gained little weight, suffered high mortality and had eroded caudal fins. Addition of the mixture of amino acids (lysine, arginine, histidine, isoleucine, threonine, valine and tryptophan) significantly improved weight gain and prevented nearly all mortality and fin erosion. Single deletions of the amino acids valine, tryptophan, threonine, histidine and isoleucine had no significant effect on weight gain but the deletion of lysine alone significantly reduced weight gain and caused fin erosion and mortality. Deletion of arginine reduced weight gain (P less than .05), but did not cause mortality or fin erosion. Feeding graded levels of each of these two amino acids showed that the minimum lysine requirement for maximum growth was about 6.1% of protein, and the minimum arginine requirement was between 5.4 and 5.9% of protein. The lysine requirements for prevention of fin erosion and mortality appeared to be lower than that for maximum weight gain.  相似文献

Effects of dietary arginine levels of 1.2%, 1.7% and 2.2% of dry matter (DM) (4.8 g/16 g N, 6.4 g/16 g N and 8.0 g/16 g N, respectively) and excess dietary lysine (6.5% in DM, 22 g/16 g N) were investigated in male mink kits fed low‐protein diets supplemented with a mixture of amino acids in the growing period during 4 weeks in July‐August. Urinary excretion of orotic acid, growth performance, feed consumption, plasma concentrations of ammonia (NH3), orotic acid, urea and glucose were studied. The results showed that arginine is an essential nutrient for mink kits in the growing period and that excess dietary lysine antagonizes arginine. An arginine supply of 2.2% of DM (8.0 g/16 g N) resulted in minimum urinary excretion of orotic acid and a supply of 1.7% of DM (6.4 g/16 g N) prevented increased plasma concentrations of NH3. Growth performance was negatively affected by the low protein level in all diets. The plasma concentrations of orotic acid, urea and glucose were not affected by the dietary levels of arginine.  相似文献

Over 4 days 12 colostomized laying hens received together with a commercial ration labelled wheat with a 15N excess (15N') of 14.37 atom-%. The labelling of the basic amino acids amounted to 13.58 atom-% for lysine, to 14.38 atom-% for histidine and to 13.63 atom-% 15N' for arginine. 3 animals each were butchered 12 h, 36 h, 60 h and 108 h resp. after the last application of 15N. The heavy nitrogen in the total N and in the N fraction of non-protein origin as well as in the basic amino acids in faeces was daily determined for the individual hens in the total experimental period. On average the crude protein of faeces contained 5.45 % lysine, 2.32% histidine histidine and 3.68% arginine: the protein of faeces correspondingly contained 5.43% lysine, 2.32% histidine and 4.07% arginine. The quota of TCA soluble N in the total N of faeces amounts to one third on the 3rd und 4th days of the experiment and that of 15N' to 28%. The average atom-% 15N' of the protein fraction is 3.48 atom-% 15N' and that of the non-protein N fraction of faeces 2.93 atom-% 15N'. The apparent digestibility and that of the non-protein N fraction of faeces 2.93 atom-% 15N'. The apparent digestibility of the 14N of the ration on average amounts to 82.8% and that of the wheat 15N' to 87.5%. The average quota of the basic amino acids in the protein compounds of faeces amounts to 70.9% for lysine 15N', 73.7% for histidine 15N' and 70.3% for arginine 15N'. The digestibility of the 15N labelled amino acids amounts to 80.4% for lysine, 90.8% for histidine and 90.2% for arginine.  相似文献

The influence of the growth of Pseudomonas fragi strain F 111 was studied in a synthetic medium. It was shown that volatile nitrogen compounds were rapidly liberated as a result of the decomposition at 5°C of arginine and histidine. A later and slower increase of TVN was observed in media, which contained lysine or urea. From the other 7 amino acids which were included in the test, no increase of TVN was observed to be caused by the strain F 11.It was shown that within the range of 0.05 to 0.8 % histidine added to the basic salt solution the amount of TVN liberated was correlated to the amount of histidine included in the media. At the TVN maximum approx. 50 % of the amino acid nitrogen of the medium was recovered as TVN.It was further shown that the liberation of TVN was correlated to the added amount of arginine and histidine included in the growth medium. The presence of lysine also influenced on the TVN maximum which was reached. In the synthetic medium to which arginine or histidine was added the growth of strain F 111 was stimulated by the presence of glucose. The acids produced by the oxidative breakdown of glucose were neutralized partly by the volatile bases produced in the decomposition of amino acids.The ability of the Pseudomonas fragi to grow in anaerobic conditions and to produce enzymes which could decompose histidine was studied. Two main trials and three preliminary experiments were conducted in order to examine adverse effects of excess lysine in 140- to 150-kg Holstein bull calves. The animals had been trained to maintain reflex closure of the reticular groove after weaning and were fed a corn and soybean meal diet. In Trial 1 (n = 30), administration via the reticular groove of 0 to 64 g/d of lysine as L-lysine monohydrochloride resulted in a linear decrease in DMI and N utilization efficiency, with notably lower values at 64 g/d, although ADG and gain/feed ratio were not affected. Plasma arginine and ornithine did not decrease but rather increased over that range. Free lysine but not free arginine was detected in urine. In addition, free ornithine was excreted into urine only when 64 g/d was administered. Unexpectedly, severe but transient diarrhea occurred when 64 g/d of lysine were administered. Preliminary experiments revealed that a single administration of more than 32 g of lysine as L-lysine monohydrochloride could result in diarrhea, and the diarrhea was proven to be due to the lysine itself and not to the HCl portion. In Trial 2 (n = 15), a single administration of 40 or 60 g of lysine as L-lysine monohydrochloride resulted in increased fecal excretion of free lysine and ornithine, especially the latter, although free arginine was not detected in feces. These results suggested that diarrhea could occur almost concurrently with an imbalance in calves when 64 g/d of lysine was administered. However, lysine did not antagonize arginine at that level or at lower levels. The remarkable increase in fecal ornithine may be somehow related to the development of diarrhea from excess lysine.  相似文献

1. The effects of varying the dietary arginine:lysine (Arg:Lys) ratio for broiler chickens at thermoneutral and high temperatures was studied in a series of 5 experiments which measured intestinal epithelial transport or evaluated growth and food efficiency with practical diets or diets supplemented with L-arginine free base. 2. The growth studies showed that increasing the Arg:Lys ratio at high temperatures produced consistent improvements in food conversion without any loss in growth. 3. Increasing dietary sodium chloride concentration reduced the Arg:Lys ratio necessary for optimum food conversion. 4. Food conversion responses were improved whether L-arginine free base was used as a dietary supplement in place of an inert filler or practical diets with differing ingredients were used to vary the Arg:Lys ratio. 5. In the presence of an equimolar concentration of lysine the uptake of arginine by the intestinal epithelium of heat-stressed broilers was reduced significantly compared with that of broilers at thermoneutral temperatures. 6. The results indicate that the ideal amino acid balance for broilers varies with ambient temperature.  相似文献

本试验选择24头健康PIC断奶仔公猪,单笼饲养,随机分为4个处理:对照组,氧化应激组,氧化应激组+0.8%精氨酸,1.6%精氨酸+氧化应激组。在试验第8天,各试验组仔猪腹腔注射敌草快诱导氧化应激,对照组仔猪注射等量生理盐水。在应激前(0 h),应激后6、24、48 h和96 h前腔静脉采血分离血浆。结果表明:氧化应激显著降低仔猪日增重、日均采食量及饲料转化效率。在氧化应激状态下,补充1.6%Arg显著增加仔猪的日均采食量。氧化应激降低仔猪血浆精氨酸、谷氨酸、赖氨酸、蛋氨酸、苏氨酸的浓度,显著增加血浆异亮氨酸和缬氨酸的浓度。在氧化应激条件下,补充精氨酸能显著提高血浆精氨酸、赖氨酸、异亮氨酸的浓度,显著降低血浆蛋氨酸、谷氨酸、缬氨酸的浓度。  相似文献

旨在从体内与体外探究过量赖氨酸对断奶仔猪的影响。本试验选用144头杜×长×大三元杂交断奶仔猪,随机分为4组,每组6个重复,每个重复6头仔猪(3头阉公猪和3头母猪),各组在日粮中分别添加1.3%、2.6%、3.9%和5.2%的回肠标准可消化赖氨酸(standardized ileal digestibility lysine,SID Lys),观察其对于仔猪生长性能、器官指数以及生理生化等指标的影响。以IPEC-J2为体外模型,根据培养基与营养需要中氨基酸的种类与比例,添加赖氨酸及其他氨基酸,测定IPEC-J2细胞的增殖情况,并试图通过平衡氨基酸手段降低因过量添加赖氨酸造成的不利影响。结果显示,随着日粮SID Lys添加量的增加,断奶仔猪的生长性能显著下降(P<0.05),血浆平均红细胞血红蛋白含量(mean corpuscular hemoglobin,MCH)、部分血清游离氨基酸含量和肠道形态受到影响。当在培养基中添加2.0 mmol·L-1赖氨酸时,IPEC-J2细胞活力显著下降(P<0.05),培养基中原赖氨酸浓度(0.5 mmol·L-1)是IPEC-J2生长的最适浓度。当按照培养基中氨基酸平衡比例补充其他必需氨基酸时,细胞活力有一定程度的改善;当按照猪碱性氨基酸的最适比例补充相应浓度的精氨酸与组氨酸时,细胞活力随处理时间的变化而变化。综上所述,单独添加过多的赖氨酸对断奶仔猪的生长会产生负面作用,在生产实际应用中应充分考虑氨基酸之间的平衡。  相似文献

To determine the effectiveness of dietary lysine supplementation in cats with enzootic upper respiratory disease (URD), 50 cats were fed a ration containing 11 or 51 g lysine/kg diet for 52 days. Food intake, body weight, clinical signs, plasma amino acid concentrations and presence of Chlamydophila felis or feline herpesvirus (FHV)-1 DNA within the conjunctival fornix were assessed. Food and lysine intake of both dietary groups decreased between days 17 and 22, coinciding with peak disease and viral presence. Mean disease score for cats fed the supplemented ration (0.94) was higher than for those fed the basal diet (0.21); however, this could be attributed to a small subset of male cats which demonstrated fighting behavior that may have contributed to stress within that cage. FHV-1 DNA was detected on 12 occasions in six cats receiving the supplemented diet and on one occasion in one cat fed the basal diet. C felis DNA was never detected. Mean plasma arginine concentration was lower and plasma lysine concentration was higher in supplemented cats. Mean plasma arginine concentration declined throughout the study in both dietary groups. Data from the present study raise important questions but do not permit a definitive conclusion regarding the efficacy of dietary lysine supplementation in cats with enzootic URD.  相似文献

Thirty-nine adult light horse mares, geldings, and stallions were used in two experiments to assess the pituitary hormone and insulin responses to infusions of arginine, aspartic acid, lysine, glutamic acid, and N-methyl-D,L-aspartate (NMA). In Exp. 1, 27 horses were assigned to one of three infusion treatments: 1) physiological saline (1 L); 2) 2.855 mmol of arginine/kg BW in 1 L of water; or 3) 2.855 mmol of aspartic acid/kg BW in 1 L of water. In Exp. 2, 12 horses were assigned, in a multiple-square 4 x 4 Latin square design, to one of four infusion treatments: 1) 2 mL of saline/kg BW; 2) 2.855 mmol of lysine/kg BW in water; 3) 2.855 mmol of glutamic acid/kg BW in water; or 4) 1 mg of NMA/kg BW in water. In Exp. 1, an acute (within 20 min) release of growth hormone (GH) was induced (P = 0.002) by aspartic acid. In contrast, acute release of prolactin (P = 0.001) and insulin (P = 0.002) was induced only by arginine; moreover, the arginine effect on insulin was present only in mares (P = 0.011). In Exp. 2, an acute release of GH was induced (P = 0.001) by glutamic acid and NMA. In males, the glutamic acid-induced GH release was greater than that of NMA; in mares, the NMA-induced GH release was greater than that of glutamic acid (P = 0.069). Both lysine and glutamic acid induced (P = 0.001) acute release of prolactin, whereas an acute release of insulin was elicited (P = 0.002) only by lysine. The NMA-induced LH response was due almost entirely to the response in mares and stallions (P = 0.016), and the NMA-induced FSH release was due almost entirely to the response in mares (reproductive status effect; P = 0.004). In the horse, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, and NMA seem to stimulate GH release; arginine and lysine seem to stimulate prolactin and insulin release; and NMA seems to stimulate LH and FSH release. It seems that N-methyl-D-aspartate glutamate receptors are involved in controlling GH, LH, and FSH secretion, whereas other mechanisms are involved with prolactin secretion. These results also indicate that gonadal steroids interact with amino acid-induced pituitary hormone release in adult horses.  相似文献

Three experiments were conducted to evaluate pet food by-product (PFB) as a component of nursery starter diets and its effects on pig performance. The PFB used in these studies was a pelleted dog food that contained (as-fed basis) 21% CP, 1.25% total lysine, and 8.3% ether extract. In Exp. 1, 288 early-weaned pigs (5.2 kg at 14 d) were used to determine the effects of replacing animal protein and energy sources with PFB at 0, 10, 30, and 50% (as-fed basis) inclusion levels in phase I (d 0 to 7 after weaning) and phase II (d 7 to 21 after weaning) diets. Phase I diets contained 27.5% whey, 18.75% soybean meal, 1.50% lysine, 0.90% Ca, and 0.80% P, with PFB substituted for corn, fat, plasma protein, fish meal, limestone, and dicalcium phosphate. Phase II diets had a constant 10% whey, 1.35% lysine, and PFB was substituted for blood cells, a portion of the soybean meal, and other ingredients as in phase I diets. In phase I, growth performance by pigs fed PFB-containing diets was similar to that of the control diet. In phase II, ADG (linear; P < 0.05 and quadratic, P < 0.005), ADFI (linear and quadratic, P < 0.01), and G:F (quadratic, P < 0.01) were increased with increasing PFB inclusion. In Exp. 2, 80 weaned pigs (6.7 kg at 21 d) were fed a common phase I diet for 1 wk and used to further evaluate the effect of PFB in phase II diets (same as Exp 1; initial BW = 8.1 kg) on growth performance and apparent total tract nutrient digestibility. There were no differences in ADG, ADFI, or G:F across treatments. Dry matter and energy digestibility did not differ among diets; however, digestibilities of CP (P < 0.05) and the essential AA, arginine (P < 0.02), histidine (P < 0.01), lysine (P < 0.001), threonine (P < 0.01), and valine (P < 0.01), were greater as PFB was increased in the diet. In Exp. 3, the performance by pigs (n = 1 70; 5.5 kg; 21 d of age) fed diets with 0 or 30% PFB in both phases I and II was examined. Growth performance was similar in both diets. These studies demonstrate that pet food by-product can effectively be used as a partial replacement for animal protein sources and grain energy sources in the diets of young nursery pigs.  相似文献

Growing barrows and female pigs of 3 liveweight ranges (20-30 kg, 50-60 kg, 80-90 kg) were used to study the true digestibility of protein and essential amino acids from 4 cereal species and 4 high-protein concentrate using the fecal analysis method and regression techniques. No significant differences were found between the females and the barrows in the true digestibility of the protein and most of the amino acids from the protein carriers under study. In the 3rd liveweight range, the true digestibility of some amino acids of the cereals proved somewhat lower in tendency with female animals. In comparison with the true digestibility of protein, in the cereals under study that of lysine gave significantly lower, and that of cystine, arginine, phenylalanine and histidine significantly higher values. The relative values (protein = 100%) were 85.0, 110.6, 106.8, 106.5 and 105.5 for lysine, cystine, arginine, phenylalanine and histidine, respectively. The true digestibility of the remaining amino acids is comparable to that of protein.  相似文献
