Summary Table 1 shows, that even very low numbers of stem eelworms per unit of soil may cause serious damage to onions. The same holds for rye (Table 2).If no stem eelworms are found in a soil sample, onions may still show damage on part of the sampled field. The larger the sample investigated and the better the separation method, the smaller is the chance of damage to onions if no stem eelworms are found in a soil sample. If they are found in a soil sample the sampled field should be considered unsuitable for growing onions although there is a small chance that the race of the eelworm present may not attackonions. 相似文献
