Dry deposition velocity estimates of SO, HNO3 and SO4 2? were computed for six locations in eastern North America using two different inferential models; a Big-Leaf model utilized by the U. S. National Dry Deposition Network (NDDN) and, a land-use based model (LUM) that has been used in the past to estimate the relative importance of dry versus wet deposition over selected Canadian regions. There were consistent differences between models that were related to the surface type, chemical species and time of year. Mean monthly dry deposition velocities based upon the 1990–91 time period were compared at two locations. The seasonal cycles in deposition velocity were similar between models, but there were considerable differences in the amplitude of the cycles. The LUM predicted about a 400% increase in S042- deposition velocity from the winter to the summer months, while there was a 50 to 100% increase in the NDDN model estimates, depending upon location. According to the LUM, HN03 deposition to crop land increased by about a factor of 6 from winter to summer, while the big leaf model predicted a 50% increase. Overall, there was better agreement for SO2. Averaged over 12 months, the differences in deposition velocity between models were smaller and generally within the range of uncertainty associated with inferential models. For all six sites, the mean percent difference between models in deposition velocity for SO2, HNO3 and SO4 2? were 13, 35 and 79, respectively. These differences highlight the effect of using different methods for estimating dry deposition and the importance of applying the same model when examining regional patterns in dry/total deposition rates. 相似文献

Inputs of wet and dry deposition were monitored at the Huntington Forest in the Adirondack Mountains of New York for two years in the open and beneath the canopy of a northern hardwood forest. In the open, ion flux estimates were similar using wet-only weekly (NADP protocol) and event collections, but bulk collections were higher for all ions except H+, which was much lower. These differences were due to the contribution of dry deposition and possible biotic alterations in bulk collectors. Dry deposition was estimated using air concentrations and ion-specific depositional velocities modeled with meteorological data, and contributed substantially to the input of all ions [H+ (45%), Na+ (24%), K+ (22%), NH4 + (12%), Ca2+ (58%), Mg2+(43%), NO3 ? (55%), Cl? (27%) and SO4 ?2 (26%)]. Dry input of base cations was dominated by coarse particles, whereas gaseous inputs were more important for S and NO3 ?. Atmospheric concentrations of SO2 and inputs of SO4 2? and H+ were lower at this site than sites closer to point sources of S gas emission. The importance of estimating atmospheric inputs was examined using examples of elemental budgets. For example, different estimates of the contribution of dry deposition of SO4 2? (9–21 meq m?2 y?1) resulted in conclusions ranging from no net retention to a net loss of this element. The importance of dry deposition was assessed to oak and pine trees, in a hardwood and coniferous canopy, respectively. In both canopies, ambient particle and gas concentrations on the interior were decreased relative to perimeter concentrations due to dry deposition scavenging by the canopy. Deposition of all species was higher to perimeter leaves than to interior leaves, due both to the lower concentrations and the lower wind speeds in the sheltered interior. The deposition velocities measured to the pine needles were similar to the values measured to the oak leaves. 相似文献

The dry deposition of particle-bound NH4
+ and NO3
– and of gaseous NH3 and HNO3 to a 45 year old Norway Spruce forest was determined by the inferential method. Deposition velocities were calculated from meteorological data and plant morphology by a multi-layer model which combines the transfer of the trace substances within the canopy and their absorption probabilities due to a variety of deposition mechanisms. For gaseous deposition the same mathematical concept was adopted as for particles. That means that this approach is an alternative to the common concept of resistance analogy. The mean deposition velocities found were 0.47 cm s–1 for NH4
+ and 1.85 cm s–1 for NO3
–. While these values are in the range found in other studies, the mean deposition velocities for the gases were quite large. For NH3 13 cm s–1 were found and for HNO3 11 cm s–1. It is suggested that the absorption of these gases on the plant surfaces is not as effective as assumed in the model. 相似文献

The deposition rates for wet, dry, and integrated fallout of P to the southern portion of Lake Huron were determined. Samples were analyzed for water-soluble, acid (pH =2) soluble, and insoluble (bound) P. The term ‘available P’ was used to indicate the sum of the water- and acid-soluble fractions of P in each type of input. Of the integrated fallout samples, approximately one-third was present as available P. The deposition rate for dry fallout of available P was determined to be 1.7 ng cm?2 day?1. The wet deposition rate was estimated to be 2.2 ng cm?2 day?1 for available P. Total fallout of available P, determined from shore-based integrated fallout collectors, was calculated to occur at a rate of 6.5 ng cm?2 day?1. The difference between the wet-plus-dry deposition and the integrated deposition rates has been ascribed to the contamination of integrated fallout collectors by local sources (roads, agricultural activity, etc.) though attempts were made to minimize this problem. The presence of large quantities of biological material (pollen, algae, insect larvae) accounted for a large fraction of the difference observed, especially in the spring months. 相似文献

Dry and wet deposition rates of various forms of phosphate and N and of Fe, sulphate, Na, K, and silica ions are reported for a 1 yr period in central Alberta. The results are extrapolated from event samples of rain and snow, and from dry deposition samples in distilled water collectors and snowpack. Following corrections for contamination and evaporation the most reliable dry deposition rates are found for orthophosphate, organic and nitrate N, and Fe, sulphate, and K ions. Ion concentrations in snow are significantly lower than those in rain for ammonia, organic, and total N and for sulphate and silica ions. More than 50% of the concentrations of total phosphate and total N in wet deposition samples is dissolved or in fine particles (less than 0.45 μ) but only about one third of dry deposition sample concentrations is in such form. Dry-to-wet deposition ratios for the year exceed one for filtered total N, filtered total phosphate, Fe, and sulphate. The largest dry-to-wet deposition ratios are about 5 for sulphate and unfiltered total N. 相似文献

A collaborative study has been completed on a method for determining methoxychlor content in dry formulations. The method is based on a total halogen determination plus a selective, qualitative thin lay chromatographic (TLC) measurement to establish the p,p'-methoxychlor is the primary halogen-containing organic species present in the formulation. After extraction of the sample with toluene, the toluene solution of methoxychlor is treated with sodium biphenyl to convert all halogen to the halide. The halide is then extracted with a solution of nitric acid and titrated with silver nitrate according to the Volhard procedure or potentiometrically, using a pH meter assembly. Based on the results obtained from 7 collaborators, the standard deviation of the method is about 0.48% at the 50% level. The qualitative TLC measurement is made on an aliquot of the initial toluene extract, using a selective halogen detection system. The method has been adopted as official first action. 相似文献

Precipitation over a forested watershed is altered by interaction with plant surfaces which act as a filter for airborne gases and particles. This results in a major transfer to the forest floor of materials captured, washed, and leached from the forest canopy. Sequential samples of wetfall and sequential samples of throughfall under deciduous and coniferous trees were collected and chemically analyzed for major anions and cations. A simple washoff, mixing model based on leaf area index was used to simulate throughfall chemistry and to decouple foliar exudation from dry deposition. Model results gave excellent predictions of the measured sequential throughfall using estimated values of dry deposition. The model can also be used to calculate dry deposition, if the sequential throughfall data and wetfall data are used as input variables. 相似文献

Tomato plants (Lycopersicon. esculentum Mill cv. Momotaro) were cultured in nutrient solutions of varying concentrations or of varying nitrate (NO3) levels. The leaf blades and the main petioles including rachis were collected from the mixture of three successive leaves below each fruit truss at two growth stages. Comparisons were made between the nutrient concentration in the leaf blade and the petiole determined by plant sap analysis, and that in the leaf blade determined by the dry ashing method. Closely correlated relationships were found to exist between the phosphorus (P), calcium (Ca), and magnesium (Mg) concentrations in the leaf blade and the petiole determined by plant sap analysis, and those in the leaf blade determined by the dry ashing method at two growth stages. For the concentration of potassium (K), there was no correlation between results of plant sap analysis and those determined by the dry ashing method at either growth stage. 相似文献

Because there is no simple device capable of measuring the dry deposition rates of small particles and trace gases directly, much current activity is focused on the use of an inferential technique. In this method, measurements of atmospheric concentration (C) of selected chemical species are coupled with evaluations of appropriate deposition velocity (V d ) to yield estimates of dry deposition rate from their product. Difficulties arise concerning the ability to measure C, and especially regarding the poor knowledge of V d for many species. A multiple resistance routine for deriving deposition velocities is presented here. Current knowledge of biological processes is incorporated into a first-generation lsbig leaf’ model; formulations of resistances appropriate for describing individual leaves are combined to simulate the canopy as a whole. The canopy resistance is combined with estimates of aerodynamic and boundary-layer resistances to approximate the total resistance to transfer, from which deposition velocity is then computed. Special emphasis is given to the influence of the diurnal cycle, to the way in which the various transfer resistances can be inferred from routine data, and to the role of canopy factors (e.g., leaf area index, wetness, temperature response, and sunshade fractions). 相似文献

Experimental additions of ammonium sulphate to a nitrogen-poor dry heathland have been carried out since 1989. There are four nitrogen treatments: a control (receiving artificial rain only), a low treatment which receives an additional 7.7 kg N ha?1 yr?1, a high treatment receiving 15.4 kg N ha?1 yr?1 and an alternating treatment which receives either the control or the high nitrogen additions, in alternate years. The estimated background deposition at the study site is 13–18 kg N ha?1 yr?1, a value similar to the critical load that has been suggested for the conversion of lowland heath to grassland. Over the past 5 years there have been significant stimulations in shoot growth, flowering, canopy density and litter production. Flowering, in particular, strongly reflects nitrogen additions in the alternating treatment. Current models of the response of dry Calluna heathlaud to enhanced nitrogen deposition suggest that higher tissue nitrogen levels will occur and will be accompanied by heightened sensitivity to secondary stresses. This may in turn lead to canopy breakdown and replacement by grassland. The application of nitrogen at deposition rates only slightly in excess of the critical load over five years has produced small, non-significant increases in shoot nitrogen content. However, there is clear evidence of a large positive effect on shoot growth, flowering, litter production and canopy density of Calluna. The observation of these responses at the application rates used in this study supports the current proposals for critical loads of nitrogen for lowland heaths. 相似文献

An instrument package, based on a tunable diode laser absorption spectrometer and comprehensive micrometeorological instrumentation, has been successfully developed for making dry deposition flux measurements, using eddy correlation techniques. Sulfate yields in eastern Canada, calculated as lake concentration times runoff, are presented on an approximately west to east axis, and are compared with wet deposition data from CANSAP (Canadian Network for Sampling Precipitation) and APN (Air Pollution Network) data on dry deposition. The agreement is very good, and shows clearly that dry deposition is greatest near the center of the continental pollution plume and is less important in remote areas. The good agreement also indicates that most of the sulfate in these lakes is from atmospheric deposition and that there is little retention of sulfate in their watersheds. 相似文献

The exchange process known as dry deposition encompasses the dynamic exchange of trace gases and aerosol particles, and the gravitational settling of large particles. Except for particles large enough that their sedimentation velocity exceeds turbulent velocities, the rate of deposition is mostly determined by surface properties, such as roughness, stickiness, and wetness, and by atmospheric stability. Thus, it is difficult to interpret results obtained using collection devices having surfaces different from those of nature. Other methods for measuring dry deposition exist, mostly micrometeorological, but these are sufficiently complicated that routine application as in a monitoring network is not yet feasible. For some chemical species and in some locations, inferential methods offer considerable promise. These methods measure atmospheric concentrations (C) of the relevant chemical species, and derive relevant deposition velocities (vd) on a site-specific, species-dependent, and time-evolving basis. The dry deposition rates of interest are then evaluated as the product vd.C. A major goal of current research programs is to provide the knowledge necessary to evaluate vd. Experimental methods are reviewed, and potential sources of error are examined, for both the research methods and the “concentration monitoring” methodologies presently being advocated for use in numerical models as well as for routine monitoring. 相似文献

为了提高渔业数据单位捕捞努力量渔获量(catch per unite of effort,CPUE)标准化数据的质量和模型连续稳定预测能力,该文采用人工神经网络(artificial neural network,ANN)、回归树(regression trees,RT)、随机森林(random forest,RF)和支持向量机(support vector machine,SVM)等机器学习方法和传统的广义线性模型(generalized linear model,GLM)等方法,对2000-2013年大西洋大眼金枪鱼(Thunnus obesus)延绳钓CPUE数据进行标准化。采用平均绝对误差、平均均方误差、3种相关系数(Pearson's,Kendall's和Spearman's)和标准化均方误差等评价指标对不同模型标准化结果进行对比,寻找较优的标准化方法。研究结果表明,在验证数据集SVM方法得到的3种相关系数(0.596,0473和0.632)和RF(0.623,0.456,0.621)相似,高于RT(0.516,0.432和0.586)、ANN(0.428,0.249和0.365)和GLM(0.199,0.106和0.159)。SVM预测的均方误差(11.25)、平均绝对误差(2.107)和标准化均方误差(0.652)略低于RF(11.655,2.377和0.661),明显低于RT(14.999,2.434和0.801)、ANN(16.692,2.883和0.823)和GLM(16.517,2.777和0.993)。各项指标揭示SVM方法要优于其他4种方法,RF次之,GLM计算结果在所有方法中最差,不适合渔业数据CPUE标准化。SVM和RF方法应该被优先考虑用于渔业数据CPUE标准化。研究结果为渔业资源管理和保护提供更好的支持。 相似文献

UK data on sulphur deposition trends between the 1960's and 1990's are presented. Long term data sets of sulphur dioxide (SO2) concentrations at two sites have been analysed and dry deposition determined using a resistance model. Wet deposition has been calculated from non-marine sulphate concentration and rainfall fields for 1978–80 and 1989–93. These maps have been interpolated and corrected for seeder feeder enhancement. The wet deposition of sulphur declined by about 43 % between 1979 and 1993 whereas emissions of sulphur declined by about 32 %. An indication of the trends in sulphur dry deposition is provided by data from Eskdalemuir, a site in southern Scotland where wet deposition and SO2 concentration have been measured since 1979. Dry deposition at Eskdalemuir has decreased by 70 % and wet deposition by 48 %. Hence, while wet deposition has responded approximately linearly with the decline in UK emissions of sulphur dioxide, dry deposition has declined at twice the rate of decline in UK emissions. 相似文献

准确模拟水分胁迫并揭示其对作物生长发育过程的影响,是作物模型应用于田间研究和干旱影响评估的关键。该研究将3种主流水分胁迫算法整合到一个标准平台中,组成土壤含水率模型(average Soil Water Content,SWC)、土壤水分供需比模型(Water Supply to Demand ratio,WS/WD)和相对蒸腾模型(Actual to Potential Transpiration ratio,AT/PT)共3种水分胁迫模拟模型。利用河北吴桥2017-2019年冬小麦水分试验田间观测数据结合2008-2009和2013-2016年水分试验文献资料对模型平台进行参数校准与验证。结果表明,3种模型的模拟结果与实测值均吻合良好,地上部生物量、土壤含水率和产量的归一化均方根误差(Normalized Root Mean Squared Error,NRMSE)分别为14.0%~16.5%、5.1%~8.8%和5.4%~7.7%。3种水分胁迫模型模拟的生长季水分亏缺出现的时间和严重程度不同,但模拟的水分胁迫因子年际间变化一致。雨养条件下,生长季降水量分别决定了SWC、WS/WD和AT/PT模型模拟的年际间水分胁迫因子变异的56%、56%和39%。灌水对产量具有促进作用,但灌水量增加会导致灌水利用效率下降。SWC、WS/WD和AT/PT模型模拟枯水年灌四水(底墒水+起身水+孕穗水+开花水)处理的产量较不灌水分别高163%、132%和92%,灌四水处理的灌水利用效率较灌一水(底墒水)处理分别低26.8%、12.3%和40.0%。在吴桥县冬小麦水分管理决策中,WS/WD模型最优,SWC模型次之,AP/TP模型较差。研究结果可为提升作物模型在冬小麦干旱影响评估和水分管理方面的可信度提供参考。 相似文献

Aerosol samples and meteorological data were collected at a mid-southern Lake Michigan site (87° 00′ W, 42° 00′ N) from May through September 1977. Hi-volume samplers with cellulose fiber filters and a digital meteorological data recording system were operated on board the U.S. EPA's R/VRoger R. Simons during four intensive sampling periods. Aerosol samples were analyzed by atomic absorption spectroscopy for seventeen trace elements. A diabatic drag coefficient method was used to determine aerosol deposition velocity (v d ) overlake. A meanv d of 0.5 cm s?1 was found for the 0.1v d to a long-term climatological record, annual dry deposition loadings to the southern basin for nine elements were estimated. For four elements, Fe, Mn, Pb, and Zn, dry deposition loadings to the southern basin alone of at least 500, 30, 250, and 100 (×103 kg yr?1) were found. For Fe and Mn, these loadings represent about 15% of the total of all inputs to Lake Michigan. for Zn and Pb, about one-third to one-half of the annual loading from all sources is from dry deposition of atmospheric aerosol. 相似文献

The analysis of various ions in atmospheric deposition at two altitudes (515 m and 950 m a.s.l.) in Switzerland during 1983/84 revealed that dry deposition depends more on altitude than wet deposition. During autumn and winter, when vertical air exchange is limited, dry deposition of substances from anthropogenic sources (e.g. SO4-S) was higher at the lower site. In the course of the year, the pattern of wet deposition was independent of altitude and showed highest rates for S, N and Ca in summertime. A comparison between rates of wet, particulate and gaseous S and N deposition suggested that during the growing season wet deposition is the dominant flux. Total (wet + dry) deposition of S, N and Cl was lower than in other parts of Europe, but a substantial increase of NO3-N deposition during the past 25 years must have occured. 相似文献
