Currently ground limestone and oyster shell are the common sources of calcium for laying hens. Processed whelk (Buccinum undatum) shell contains approximately 34.8% calcium, very similar to the 38% value for commercial oyster shell and ground limestone. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of feeding whelk shells to laying hens on performance, egg and bone quality, and calcium balance. White Leghorn hens were fed a basal diet and either one-third large particle oyster shell (>1.4-4 mm) + two-thirds ground limestone (OS/GL), one-third large particle whelk shells (>1.4-4 mm) + two-thirds ground whelk (W/GW), 100% ground limestone (GL), or 100% ground whelk shells (GW) starting at 20 wk of age for 14 28 d periods. Production data were comparable among calcium sources for the first 8 periods of production. During periods 9 to 14, feed consumption for hens fed GW was lower (P < 0.05) than for hens fed OS/GL. For periods 12 to 14, hens fed W/GW consumed less feed (P < 0.05) than those fed OS/GL and GL. Body weights were less (P < 0.05) for hens fed both forms of whelks at the end of periods 12 to 14. Egg production was not affected (P < 0.05) by treatment up to period 10. During period 11, egg production was lower (P < 0.05) for the hens fed GW compared to OS/GL and GL. For periods 12 to 14, hens fed both forms of whelks produced lower (P < 0.05) numbers of eggs than those fed OS/GL and GL. Hens fed GW produced fewer (P < 0.05) eggs than those fed W/GW. Feed conversions for hens fed W/GW and GW were less efficient (P < 0.05) during periods 12 to 14. Higher environmental temperatures occurred during periods 12 to 13, which may have negatively affected the performance of hens fed whelks. However, there were no differences (P < 0.05) among treatment means for egg weight, egg specific gravity, and shell breaking strength. 1. Two strains of layers were fed compound or choice forms of a standard diet and given calcium as either ground limestone or coarse limestone grit daily or every 2nd day. Mortality caused by Marek's disease was monitored during the rearing and laying phases. 2. A dramatic difference in Marek's disease mortality was found between the strains. Heavy Marek's disease mortality in the imported strain A in the rearing phase was not markedly affected by dietary or calcium treatment. 3. Method of feeding and calcium provision interacted to influence significantly the risk of death due to Marek's disease in the laying phase in layer strain A. 4. 1. Four different sources of calcium in isonitrogenous and isoenergeric diets were fed to laying hens for 2 weeks when they were 56 and 57 weeks old. The calcium source blends were as follows: 29% fine limestone (LF)+71% large limestone (LG), 32% LF+68% eggshell, 32% LF+68% oyster shell, 50% LF+50% LG. The contents of these blends of calcium in the diets were as follows: 103.3, 93.3, 93.3 and 93.3 g/kg, respectively. 2. The coefficients of calcium retention were significantly higher in 50:50 LF:LG (0.578) and 32:68 LF:eggshell (0.576). The midnight feeding significantly improved the coefficient of calcium retention in all mixtures except 50:50 LF:LG. 3. In the mixtures 29:71 LF:LG and 32:68 LF:oyster shell, there were significantly greater eggshell quality, eggshell weight, eggshell thickness and eggshell strength. Midnight feeding had no significant effect on eggshell quality. 4. In the ration with oyster shells, 96.5% of the retained calcium was deposited in the eggshell, but in rations 32:68 LF:eggshell and 50:50 LF:LG the utilisation was only 73.9 and 78.6%, respectively. 5. To ensure good quality eggshells in the last third of production, the recommendation for calcium is 4.1 g/kg (900 g/kg dry matter, feed intake 110 g/d). As a source of calcium in this stage of production, a feed mixture containing two-thirds large particles should be used (limestone grit or oyster shell).  相似文献

Background

Cracked shells, due to age related reduction of shell quality, are a costly problem for the industry. Parallel to reduced shell quality the skeleton becomes brittle resulting in bone fractures. Calcium, a main prerequisite for both eggshell and bone, is regulated by estrogen in a complex manner. The effects of estrogen, given in a low continuous dose, were studied regarding factors involved in age related changes in shell quality and bone strength of laying hens. A pellet containing 0.385 mg estradiol 3-benzoate (21-day-release) or placebo was inserted subcutaneously in 20 birds each of Lohmann Selected Leghorn (LSL) and Lohmann Brown (LB) at 70 weeks of age. Eggs were collected before and during the experiment for shell quality measurements. Blood samples for analysis of total calcium were taken three days after the insertion and at sacrifice (72 weeks). Right femur was used for bone strength measurements and tissue samples from duodenum and shell gland were processed for morphology, immunohistochemical localization of estrogen receptors (ERα, ERβ), plasma membrane calcium ATPase (PMCA) and histochemical localization of carbonic anhydrase (CA).

Results

Estrogen treatment increased shell thickness of both hybrids. In addition, shell weight and shell deformation improved in eggs from the brown hybrids. The more pronounced effect on eggs from the brown hybrid may be due to a change in sensitivity to estrogen, especially in surface epithelial cells of the shell gland, shown as an altered ratio between ERα and ERβ. A regulatory effect of estrogen on CA activity, but not PMCA, was seen in both duodenum and shell gland, and a possible connection to shell quality is discussed. Bone strength was unaffected by treatment, but femur was stronger in LSL birds suggesting that the hybrids differ in calcium allocation between shell and bone at the end of the laying period. Plasma calcium concentrations and egg production were unaffected.

Conclusions

A low continuous dose of estrogen improves shell strength but not bone strength in laying hens at the end of the laying period.  相似文献

文章旨在评估不同饲养方式对蛋鸡生产性能、蛋品质和血清生化指标的影响。试验选择产蛋性能接近的22周龄海兰褐壳蛋鸡540只,随机分为3组,每组5个重复,每个重复36只。笼养组蛋鸡采用三层阶梯饲养(0.6 m2/只),网上平养组蛋鸡在金属网丝上饲养(1.5 m2/只),垫料平养组在平铺20 cm稻壳的水泥地板上平养(1.8 m2/只)。试验共开展28周,包括2周的适应期。结果:网上平养和垫料平养组24~36 w和24~29 w蛋鸡平均日采食量较笼养组蛋鸡分别显著提高5.71%、6.22%和4.81%、4.48%(P<0.05)。此外,垫料平养组24~36 w和24~49 w蛋鸡的料重比较笼养组分别显著提高7.31%和4.09%(P<0.05)。在36 w时,垫料平养组鸡蛋的蛋壳强度最高,脏蛋率最低(P<0.05)。在49 w时,笼养组鸡蛋的蛋壳厚度最低(P<0.05),脏蛋率最高(P<0.05)。笼养组蛋鸡血清葡萄糖、甘油三酯、总蛋白和胆固醇浓度均最高(P<0.05),但高密度脂蛋白浓度最低(P<0.05)。结论:网上平养和垫料平养可以提高蛋鸡采食量,但笼养蛋鸡的饲料效率表现最佳。此外,垫料平养提高了鸡蛋的蛋壳强度和蛋壳厚度,降低了破蛋率。  相似文献

Feather pecking is still a behavioral problem in laying hen flocks, resulting in impaired welfare and economic losses. Environment enrichment, e.g., providing access to litter, to increase foraging behavior in laying hens has been shown to decrease feather pecking. This study investigated the effect of spreading crushed mussel shells (particle size 10 to 20 mm) in the litter area as an environment enrichment and source of calcium for layers receiving a commercial feed and for layers given a feed with 40% less calcium. These treatments were compared with a control involving hens given the commercial feed, but no mussel shells in the litter. The study included 900 Dekalb White layers housed in a single-tier floor system during a production cycle (20 to 72 wk of age). The mussel shells were consumed to a lower extent than predicted, resulting in calcium deficiency in hens fed the low-calcium diet. This in turn was evident as increased degree of keel bone deviations and lower eggshell breaking strength. Daily addition of crushed mussel shells to the litter for laying hens on a balanced or calcium-deficient diets did not generate any positive effects on bird feather cover, eggshell quality, production performance, or fearfulness. Hence, with the particle size of mussel shells used in this study, there was no indication of improved welfare due to environment enrichment.  相似文献

1. The current experiment was performed to elucidate the effects of degelatinised bone meal (DBM) in combination with different particle sizes of limestone or oyster shell on broiler performance, bone characteristics and digestive and plasma alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity.

2. Treatments were applied as a 3 × 3 factorial arrangement with three sources of P (DCP, bone meal and DBM) and three particle sizes (50, 100 and 200 µm) of limestone. Chickens were given either DCP or DBM with oyster shell (523 µm), resulting in a total of 11 treatments with 5 replicates of 8 chicks.

3. Performance criteria were measured weekly. Tibia strength, ash, calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) content and plasma P and Ca concentration along with plasma and intestinal alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity and P digestibility were measured on d 14 and 28.

4. Body weight and FCR were improved in chicks which were fed DBM or oyster shell in comparison to the DCP and limestone respectively (P ≤ 0.05). Performance was influenced (P ≤ 0.05) by particle size; with coarser particles BW and feed intake were increased (P ≤ 0.05). Tibia shear force and P content were reduced (P ≤ 0.001), whereas tibia shear energy, length, ash and Ca content were increased by substitution of DCP with DBM or bone meal (P ≤ 0.001; P ≤ 0.05). A significant difference was observed in the tibia length between the chicks fed oyster shell or limestone with different particles (P ≤ 0.05). Plasma P concentration was reduced in chicks were fed with DBM, bone meal and lower limestone particle size. Intestinal ALP activity was increased (P ≤ 0.001) in chicks which were fed DBM, bone meal, oyster shell or coarse particles of limestone. The P digestibility in chicks fed bone meal was lower than that of those fed DBM or DCP (P ≤ 0.01). Overall, gelatin removal from bone meal improved broiler bone characteristics through the P digestibility and intestinal ALP activity enhancement.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of time, particle size (PS) and level of calcium supplementation above the requirements toward the end of the laying period on egg production and eggshell quality. A total of 675 Isa-Brown layer hens were distributed in a completely randomized factorial arrangement of 3×3×3, using three sprinkling times (08.00, 12.00, 16.00 hours), PC (mash, granular and large size) and amounts (0 g control, 0.75 g/day/h, 1.50 g/day/h) of marble sprinkling as a calcium source. All hens were fed a commercial layer diet from 55 to 67 weeks of age. Sprinkling of 1.50 g marble reduced ( P  < 0.05) egg production compared to 0.75 g marble, and feed efficiency (FE) compared to that of 0 and 0.75 g marble. Sprinkling of 0.75 and 1.50 g marble increased ( P  < 0.01) eggshell weight, shell strength and shell thickness compared to that of 0 g marble. The interaction of sprinkling time-by-PS-by–quantity of marble was significant for egg production ( P  < 0.05), FE and shell strength ( P  < 0.01). Results showed that sprinkling of coarse marble powder to complete diet increased shell strength without reduction in egg production and FE.  相似文献

1. A range of bone structural and strength characteristics was determined in laying hens at 15, 25, 50 and 70 weeks of age. The birds were fed up to 25 weeks on diets supplemented with additional vitamin K (10 mg menadione/kg) or ascorbic acid (250 mg/kg) or up to 70 weeks on diets containing limestone in powder or particulate form. 2. There were important effects of age on all bone characteristics. Between 15 and 25 weeks there was a rapid loss of cancellous bone and a rapid accumulation of medullary bone in the proximal tarsometatarsus (PTM). These changes continued at a slower rate up to 70 weeks. Cancellous bone content of the free thoracic vertebra (FTV) also declined after 15 weeks. 3. Breaking strengths of tibia and humerus did not change between 15 and 25 weeks but decreased later in lay. 4. None of the nutritional treatments affected bone characteristics at 15 weeks of age. 5. Increasing the dietary vitamin K supplement from 2 to 12 mg menadione/kg increased cancellous bone volume in the PTM at 25 weeks. 6. Dietary ascorbic acid did not affect any of the bone characteristics measured up to 25 weeks. 7. Particulate limestone resulted in a smaller loss of cancellous bone between 15 and 25 weeks and increased accumulation of medullary bone in the PTM. Breaking strength of the tibia and radiographic densities of tibia and keel were also improved. 8. It is concluded that patterns of bone loss over the lifetime of laying hens vary, depending upon the bone type. Feeding a particulate source of calcium can help to alleviate some of the characteristics of osteoporosis. Supplementation with extra vitamin K may also be beneficial.  相似文献

This study set out to investigate if access to an enriched environment during the rearing phase influences subsequent production and eggshell quality in broiler breeders. Broiler breeder pullets were reared under standard rearing conditions (control treatment) or under standard conditions with an environmental enrichment of bales of plastic-wrapped wood shavings (enriched treatment). At 19 weeks of age both groups were transported to a laying facility and housed in standard pens according to treatment type. Egg weight, shape, shell thickness, non-destructive deformation, breaking strength, stiffness and ultrastructural quality were compared at beginning of lay (25 weeks old), peak production (31 weeks old), mid-lay (45 weeks old) and end of lay (57 weeks old). Production and hatchery data were also collected throughout lay. Significant treatment-age interactions were detected for non-destructive deformation, breaking strength and stiffness, such that birds which had received prior enrichment went on to maintain a better shell quality with age. The measurements of total shell thickness, mammillary thickness and effective shell thickness all showed a trend for a treatment-age interaction. Significant age effects were found for weight, shape index, shell thickness, breaking strength and stiffness. All production and hatchery data also demonstrated significant changes with age. It is concluded that early enrichment with bales of wood shavings may provide a novel approach to the maintenance of eggshell quality at a time when calcium metabolism begins to reduce in efficiency.  相似文献

Growth response, nutrient and mineral retention, bone mineral content and walking ability of broiler chicken fed dietary inclusion of various unconventional calcium sources were studied using 160-day-old broilers. Four isonitrogenous, isocaloric diets balanced for Ca and P were formulated such that oyster shell, snail shell, wood ash and limestone were used as main non-phytate (Ca from other sources apart from plant) calcium sources. Each dietary treatment consisted of 40 birds replicated four times with 10 birds per replicate. A single diet was fed to the broilers throughout the duration of the study which lasted for 8 weeks. Broilers fed diet containing oyster shell as calcium sources recorded the highest (p < 0.05) feed intake of 5863.30 g, while those fed diet containing limestone consumed the least intake (p < 0.05) of 5432.56 g. Occurrence of lameness and evidences of gaits were highest (p < 0.05) for broilers fed diet containing wood ash. Lowest (p < 0.05) Ca and ash retention were recorded for broiler fed diet containing wood ash as Ca sources. Similar tibia ash values were recorded for broilers fed oyster shell, snail shell and limestone. Wood ash inclusion resulted in a low Ca availability hence its inclusion in feeds for broilers should be discouraged.  相似文献

1. Individually caged laying hens had a loop of thread inserted into the shell gland. This resulted in the laying of soft shelled eggs. 2. A balance study was performed for a one week period before and after the operation. After the operation birds with threads consumed less calcium than before. Their requirements for calcium for eggshells decreased, resulting in increases in both calcium excreted and calcium retained. 3. Net calcium extraction in the digestive tract was measured in groups of birds with threads and intact controls, when shelling or not, by examining ratios of Ca to TiO2 in different gut segments. Observations were made during the period following premature oviposition in birds with threads, but within the normal shelling period of control birds. The period of study was at least two weeks after the operation. 4. Birds with threads absorbed less calcium than control birds up to the upper jejunum. 5. Control birds secreted calcium between the upper jejunum and colon, but birds with threads showed little change in absorption in this part of the digestive tract. 6. The increase in calcium absorption in intact birds was a response to the stimulus of shelling an egg or replacing calcium in medullary bone during a pause day, rather than of ovulation.  相似文献

1. Two experiments were conducted to assess the effects of lighting regime, dietary calcium source and sodium bicarbonate on production variables and egg shell quality of White Leghorn hens. In both experiments, hens were assigned to one of three lighting programmes that provided evening, morning or intermittent (midnight) lighting supplements in addition to natural daylight. Experimental diets used in the first study were formulated to contain (1) ground oyster shell flour, (2) limestone flour, or (3) and (4) the same +2/3 of the calcium source as hen-size oyster shell grit. The same 4 diets plus those containing hen-size limestone or hen-size limestone and oyster shells were used in experiment II. Additionally, diets in the first experiment contained either 0 or 10 g/kg sodium bicarbonate. 2. Hen-day egg production and food consumption were not affected by any of the experimental treatments. Hens fed on oyster shell diets or exposed to intermittent lighting regimes laid eggs of the highest specific gravity. Shell quality, as measured by specific gravity, was not affected by the addition of dietary sodium bicarbonate. 3. As expected, elevated temperatures (greater than 32 degrees C) significantly reduced egg shell quality. However, this effect was variable particularly in experiment II which used younger hens. 4. The shell quality of eggs from hens exposed to intermittent lighting in experiment II was significantly higher in each of the 4 sampling periods: morning (08.00-12.00), afternoon (12.00-16.00), evening (16.00-20.00) and night (20.00-08.00). 5. It is suggested that midnight lighting programmes provide a means of supporting egg shell quality of older laying hens during the summer months without a significant reduction in egg production.  相似文献

Arginine silicate inositol complex (ASIdagger; arginine 49.5%, silicon 8.2%, inositol 25%) is a novel material which is a bioavailable source of silicon and arginine. ASI offers potential benefits for vascular and bone health. Poor eggshell quality has been a major economic concern to commercial egg producers. Poor egg quality, skeletal abnormalities and architectural deterioration of bone tissue are common problems under hot conditions and in older birds. The effects of ASI supplementation on egg production, egg quality, levels of osteocalcin (OC) and bone mineral content were investigated in heat-stressed Japanese quail during the later part of the laying period. The birds were randomly assigned to six treatment groups consisting of six replicates of five birds each in a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement of treatments (temperatures, ASI levels). The birds were kept in wire cages in a temperature-controlled room at either 22 degrees C (TN) or 34 degrees C (HS) for 8 h/d and fed either a basal (control) diet or the basal diet supplemented with either 500 or 1000 g of ASI/kg. Heat exposure reduced egg production, egg quality and bone mineralisation when the basal diet was fed. ASI supplementation had no effect on feed intake or egg production under TN or HS conditions. However, ASI supplementation increased egg weight, shell thickness, shell weight and Haugh unit in both TN and HS groups during the late laying period. Bone mineral density (BMD) was significantly improved by ASI supplementation in both TN and HS groups. Serum osteocalcin (OC) concentrations and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity increased linearly with dietary ASI supplementation during the late laying period. The amount of calcium and phosphorus in the excreta decreased, while ash, mineral content, calcium and phosphorus concentrations in tibia increased in ASI-supplemented quail in both TN and HS groups during the late laying period. ASI supplementation significantly improved egg quality and bone mineralisation in quail during the late laying period and did not affect feed consumption or egg production.  相似文献

A total of 72 H&;N Brown Nick laying hens, 76 weeks of age (moulted at 60 weeks of age), were randomly assigned into a 3?×?3 factorial arrangement with three limestone particle sizes and three dietary Ca concentrations (30, 36 and 42?g/kg Ca); with 8 replicates per treatments, and one hen (individual) per experimental unit.

2. Particle sizes of the limestone were: distributions smaller than 2?mm (Fine), between 2 to 5?mm (Medium), and larger than 5?mm (Large). The fine, medium and large limestone particles were all obtained from the same source, and sieve sizes used had screen sizes 2?mm and 5?mm.

3. The different concentrations of dietary Ca, particle size or interactions had no significant effect on egg production, egg weight, egg mass, feed intake or feed conversion ratio.

4. The concentrations of dietary Ca and particle sizes had no significant effect on egg breaking strength, eggshell as % by weight of whole egg or eggshell thickness. The interactions between Ca concentrations and particle sizes had a significant effect on eggshell breaking strength, but not on other parameters.

5. Different dietary particle sizes had no significant effect on the Ca, P and Mg mineral contents of eggshell. While the different concentrations of Ca in diets had a significant effect on the P content of eggshell, they had no significant effect on Ca and Mg contents.

6. Different dietary concentrations of Ca had a significant effect on shear stress, and Ca and Mg contents of tibiae, but not other parameters. Also, dietary particle sizes had a significant effect on shear stress and Ca contents of tibiae. The interaction between Ca concentrations and particle sizes had a significant effect on tibia shear force and Ca content.

7. According to the results of this study, moulted brown laying hens should be fed 36?g/kg Ca and a medium limestone particle size (2–5?mm) in the diet to maintain performance, eggshell and bone quality.  相似文献

1. Divergent selection for attachment strength between the shell membrane and the calcium shell was performed in a White Leghorn strain. Multivariate analysis was used to estimate genetic parameters for shell membrane measurements and shell thickness. The aim was to investigate the possibility of improving shell strength in laying hens by selecting for increased attachment strength.

2. A significant direct selection response for attachment strength was achieved. There was a favourable correlated selection differential in the frequency of cracked eggs which resulted in a nonsignificant but favourable, correlated response. Selection for a strong attachment resulted in a thinner egg shell, and vice versa. Heritabilities were all relatively high (0.30 to 0.70). Most of the genetic correlations were in agreement with the achieved correlated responses.

3. Two factors that probably contributed to the responses in egg shell thickness were an unfavourable genetic correlation between attachment strength and shell thickness, and natural selection against changes in attachment strength, in the form of increased mortality during incubation and hatching. Problems connected with breeding for increased shell strength are discussed.  相似文献

1. Lohmann White and Lohmann Brown egg-type hybrids were reared on 6-, 8-, 10- or 12-h photoperiods, transferred to 12.5 h at 18 weeks and then given weekly increments to reach 14 h at 21 weeks. In a second experiment, Lohmann White pullets from the same rearing facility were transferred abruptly to 14 h at 18 weeks. 2. Body weight gain and feed intake to 6 and 18 weeks were positively correlated with rearing photoperiod in both breeds. Mortality to 18 weeks was unaffected. 3. Whether the photoperiod was increased abruptly or in a series of increments, Lohmann White pullets reared on 6 or 8 h matured 4 to 6 d later than pullets reared on 10 or 12 h. Rearing day-length had little effect on sexual maturity in Lohmann Brown pullets. 4. In both genotypes and each experiment, egg numbers, egg weight and shell strength increased with rearing photoperiod. Feed intake in the laying period was not significantly affected by rearing day-length, but a meta-analysis of all data showed a significant, though small, increase in adult feed intake with rearing photoperiod. Despite Lohmann White birds reared on 6 and 8 h having lower body weights throughout the laying period, they had larger body weight gains between 18 and 70 weeks than those reared on 10 or 12 h. There were no clear effects of rearing photoperiod on albumen height or mortality. 5. The heavier eggs and stronger shells of the birds reared on the longer day-lengths were correlated with heavier body weights at 18 weeks, and the superior egg numbers and higher feed intake were associated with age at sexual maturity.  相似文献

The time-course of the changes in blood ionized calcium, and in plasma 1,25 dihydroxycholecalciferol (1,25(OH)2D3) concentrations and its free index were studied in hens following suppression and resumption of shell formation and throughout the laying cycle in hens laying hard-shelled eggs, in hens fed a low or normal calcium diet and in hens laying shell-less eggs. The respective roles of the calcium needs for shell formation and of the reproductive status in regulation of 1,25(OH)2D3 production were analysed. Plasma 1,25(OH)2D3 decreased 3 hr after suppression of shell formation following premature egg expulsion and remained lower than that of hens laying hard-shelled eggs when premature expulsion of the eggs was continued for several days. Circulating 1,25(OH)2D3 tended to increase progressively when shell formation was resumed. Ablation of the parathyroid glands abolished this increase. In hens laying hard-shelled eggs, the plasma 1,25(OH)2D3 was higher during the period of shell secretion. Feeding hens a low calcium diet (1.2%) caused a marked increase in the plasma 1,25(OH)2D3. Ionized calcium levels tended to show reciprocal changes to plasma 1,25(OH)2D3 decreasing when calcification took place and increasing after its suppression. In hypercalcemic hens laying shell-less eggs and fed a 3.5% Ca diet, the plasma 1,25(OH)2D3 was at a high level 4 hr after ovulation and diminished thereafter. This additive stimulation does not, therefore, involve the parathyroid gland and may involve hormonal changes induced by ovulation. Vitamin D binding protein (DBP) in the plasma was at a high level in mature hens and was not affected by shell formation. Consequently, the free 1,25(OH)2D3 index fluctuated in parallel with total level of this hormone in mature hens. It is concluded that the calcium demand for shell formation modulates, in the short term, plasma 1,25(OH)2D3, via the homeostatic regulation of blood calcium by PTH, but that a large part of its increase is independent of PTH and is associated with the endocrine events concomitant with ovulation.  相似文献

In six experiments with laying hybrids the influence of a varied nutritive beta-carotene and vitamin A supply during rearing on the performance in the laying period was tested. Basal rations poor in carotene without vitamin A supplementation in the rearing period diminished feed intake and laying performance in the laying period, retarded the beginning of intensive laying and increased feed expenditure per 100 g egg if the feed for laying hens contained less than 5000 IU vitamin A per kg. Relations between varied vitamin A supply and the performance parameters of the laying performance could not be proved if chick and young hen feed with maize even without vitamin A supplement or if rearing feed with approximately 2500 IU vitamin A or laying hen feed greater than 5000 IU vitamin A supply were used.  相似文献

试验旨在研究槲皮素对蛋鸡蛋壳品质的影响。选择体重和产蛋率相近的240只29周龄蛋鸡,随机分4组,每组6个重复,每个重复10只。对照组饲喂基础日粮,试验1、2、3组分别在基础日粮中添加0.02%、0.04%、0.06%槲皮素。结果表明:①与对照组相比,产蛋高峰期试验2组的蛋壳相对重极显著提高(P<0.01);在产蛋后期各试验组的蛋壳厚度均显著提高(P<0.05),试验2、3组的蛋壳相对重分别提高0.27%(P<0.05)和0.48%(P<0.01),试验1、2组的鸡蛋破软壳率极显著降低(P<0.01)。②产蛋高峰期各试验组的蛋壳钙含量均显著升高(P<0.05);产蛋后期试验2、3组的蛋壳钙含量显著提高(P<0.05),试验3组蛋壳磷含量显著降低(P<0.05)。③产蛋高峰期和后期各试验组的血清钙含量均极显著提高(P<0.01);在产蛋高峰期试验2组的血清碱性磷酸酶(ALP)含量极显著提高(P<0.01);在产蛋后期试验1组的血清ALP含量极显著降低(P<0.01),试验2、3组的血清羟脯氨酸(Hyp)含量均显著降低(P<0.05)。因此,0.04%槲皮素可有效改善产蛋后期蛋壳品质。  相似文献
