In the paper, one kind of super draft ring spinning frame with four drafting rollers and corresponding three drafting zones were introduced. The yarn qualities spun by the super draft ring spinning frame were analyzed by studying the shape of spinning triangles. Using the high speed camera system OLYMPUS i-speed3 and one kind of transparent front top roller, the spinning triangles were captured, and the geometry size of spinning triangle were measured. Then, according to the theoretical model of fiber tension in the spinning triangle, fiber tension distributions in the spinning triangles were presented by using Matlab software. Using the combed roving of 350 tex as raw material, three kinds of cotton yarns, 27.8 tex (21S), 18.2 tex (32S) and 14.6 tex (40S), were spun in the common ring spinning frame with three different suitable spindle speeds, travelers and twist factors. Using the combed roving of 350 tex and 500 tex as raw material, 14.6 tex cotton yarns were spun in the super draft ring spinning frame with three different drafting ratios at back zone. It is shown that with the increasing of spindle speed, a more asymmetric shape of spinning triangle would be produced, and lead to worsen yarn evenness. With the decreasing of traveler weight, the height and horizontal deviation of the spinning triangle is decreased, and may lead to better yarn evenness and less long hairiness. By taking suitable large yarn twist factors, the comprehensive qualities can be improved. Comparing with the common ring spinning, the spinning triangle is larger in the super draft ring spinning. That is, in the super draft ring spinning, the fibers in the strand in the front roller nip are more dispersed, and not benefit for yarn qualities. Therefore, the compact device was introduced into the super draft ring spinning, and the cotton pure yarns and blend yarns were spun, and the yarn qualities were measured and analyzed.  相似文献

This paper discusses the inter fiber cohesion in man made and blended yarns. The fiber parameters such as fiber length and fineness influence the cohesion. Studies have been focused on polyester and viscose spun yarns. Though polyester and viscose yarns show similar trend in cohesion, viscose yarns exhibit better cohesion due to their serrated cross section. Studies on the effect of blend proportion of polyester cotton and polyester viscose yarns reveal that increase of polyester and viscose in the respective blends improve the inter fiber cohesion.  相似文献

Core spun yarns are applied for various purposes that especially require the multi-functional performance. This research reports on the core spinning effect on the yarn strength. We prepared various core yarns by combining different kinds of high tenacity filaments in core with cotton staples in sheath with various twist levels in the ring spin system. And the tensile strength was tested to investigate the contribution of the core-sheath structure to the core yarn strength. The influence of the twist level was also checked up on the relationship between the core-sheath structure and the yarn strength. Results turned out that the core-sheath weight ratio had influence on the tensile properties of the ring core-spun yarns in different ways according to the core filaments used for the yarn. Increasing the twists yielded a monotone decreasing strength for the aramid and the basalt core yarns, while the PET core yarns showed almost unchanged strength, which could be ascribed to the extensional property of the filaments.  相似文献

Yarn structure plays an important role in determining the properties of spun yarns. Recently, a modified spinning technique has been developed for producing a low torque and soft handle singles yarn by modifying the fiber arrangement in a yarn. Comparative studies revealed that the finer modified yarns possess significantly higher strength and lower hairiness over the conventional yarns of the same twist level, implying a different structure of finer modified yarn. Thus this paper aims to quantitatively study the structures of the finer conventional and modified cotton yarn (80 Ne) produced at the same twist level. Various measuring techniques, namely the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), cross section technique and tracer fiber technique, are adopted to analyze their structural characteristics, including fiber configuration, fiber spatial orientation angle, fiber packing density, yarn surface appearance, and fiber migration behavior. Results showed that finer modified yarns exhibit a smoother surface and much more compact structure with less hairiness. The fibers in the finer modified yarn have a complicated fiber path with relatively lower fiber radial position, larger migration frequency and magnitudes. In addition, it was noted that 73% of fibers in the finer conventional yarn follow concentric conical helix, which is contrary to those in the coarser conventional yarn. The analyses conducted in this paper provide deep insights into the mechanism of modified spinning technique and evidential explanations on the difference of properties between the finer conventional and modified yarns.  相似文献

Abstract

Quality of cotton can be defined through seed or fiber properties, but is most often associated with fiber properties that influence processing into yarn and textile products. Global competition in the production and consumption of cotton fiber combined with technological evolution of yarn manufacturing has spurred renewed efforts to enhance cotton fiber quality. Cotton fiber quality can be improved through genetics, crop management, and postharvest processing. Knowledge of the effects of fiber properties on processing and their inheritance, relationships, and environmental influences is necessary to formulate improvement strategies. Breeding to improve fiber quality has traditionally focused on enhancing measures of the longest fibers or fiber strength for ring yarn manufacturing systems. With the technological evolution of yarn manufacturing from solely ring-based spinning to predominately rotor and potentially in the near future air-jet spinning, needs for fiber profiles have been revised for these spinning systems. Successful rotor spinning requires high fiber strength for all yarn counts, along with fiber fineness for fine count yarns. The even more productive air-jet spinning requires a minimum, but uniform fiber length, fiber fineness, and to a lesser extent strong fiber. In contrast, ring spinning requires a minimum fiber length, fiber strength, and to a lesser extent fiber fineness. Breeders do not conduct direct selection for yarn properties because of impracti-calities, thus they select for fiber properties that influence processing, so-called indirect selection. The inherent environmentally induced variability in fiber properties presents challenges to enhance them through breeding or biotechnological approaches. Because variability in fiber properties is problematic to fiber processing, future-breeding and biotechnological approaches should simultaneously focus on enhancing fiber properties and reducing variation. This paper will review strategies to enhance fiber profiles through genetic approaches while ameliorating their variation.  相似文献

The compact spinning with suction groove can eliminate or decrease the spinning triangle by airflow compacting and shape condensing of the groove, so the yarn hairiness can be reduced effectively for long staple fiber. But the resistance torques produced by the spinning tension and the negative pressure of airflow influence the twist propagation. This paper analyzes variation of the friction coefficient between the fiber bundles and the groove. The transfer process of the moment of the spinning tension and airflow is studied in the variation of the friction coefficient. The expression of the resistance torque is established in the gathering area. The results show that the many factors influence the resistance torque, such as the horizontal friction coeffecient between the fiber bundles and the groove, the spinning tension and the negative pressure, as well as the angle between two suction holes etc. The proper negative pressure and the spinning tension can prevent twist propagation, and can reduce the yarn hairiness and improve the yarn quality.  相似文献

The effect of spinning parameters on core-spun yarns properties manufactured using three-strand modified method (TSMM) was analyzed. Of the various spinning parameters, strand spacing, yarn linear density and yarn twist have a crucial effect on core-spun yarn properties. To achieve the objectives of this research, general physical properties of core-spun yarns together with existing standards were thoroughly studied. First of all, the strand spacing and yarn linear density were optimized. Afterwards, the effects of variation of yarn twist and sheath roving linear density on core-spun yarns properties were investigated. Finally, the physical and mechanical properties of TSMM yarns were compared with those of siro and conventional ring core-spun yarns counterparts. It was found that, the best strand spacing and yarn linear density to produce core-spun yarns are 8 mm and 45 tex, respectively. Results showed that, tenacity of TSMM yarns increases up to a certain twist level beyond which it reduces. The result confirmed that 45 tex yarns produced by three rovings of the same count are superior with regards to tenacity and hairiness. The optimized yarns produced by three-strand modified method enjoy superior physical and mechanical properties in comparison to the ring and siro core-spun yarns.  相似文献

This article correlates draw frame settings with quality characteristics of sliver and ring spun yarn using artificial neural networks. Considering the importance of draw frame as the last quality improvement machine in the spinning process, the quality influencing parameters of the draw frame were used as input for artificial neural networks. The neural networks were trained using a combination of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm and Bayesian regularization for better generalization of the networks. Cross validation was performed for each trained network to test the performance of networks. The promising results achieved by this research work emphasize the ability of neural networks to predict the quality characteristics of sliver and yarn using the artificial neural networks. Therefore, draw frame parameters can be adjusted on the basis of required sliver and yarn quality. Furthermore, machines can be involved in the decision making process in spinning mills.  相似文献

The intrinsic torque of freshly spun wool yarns is affected by ageing of wool roving prior to spinning as well as the storage time of the yarn after spinning. The effect of physical ageing of roving on yarn torque properties has not been observed before and this study shows that the yarn intrinsic torque increases with ageing of the roving and decreases or relaxes with the yarn storage time. The dependency of the intrinsic torque on the roving ageing time and the yarn storage time after spinning show a simple double-logarithmic shift factor of 0.42 compared with the value of 1 found generally for amorphous polymeric materials. The self-plying twist of the yarns used in this study shows a close link to the intrinsic torque and both are affected by the history of the roving prior to spinning. Significant reductions in the self-plying twist were obtained when deaged rovings were used in spinning. When self-plying twist is used as a predictor of fabric spirality the roving and yarn history needs to be considered. This study shows that low intrinsic torque yarns can be produced by deageing of the roving prior to spinning.  相似文献

The effect of strand spacing and twist multiplier on strength of Siro-spun yarns with reference to the yarn structural parameters was investigated. Of the various structural parameters for staple yarns, fiber migration has a crucial influence on the yarn strength, which in turn to a considerable extent is influenced by the strand spacing and twist multiplier. Achieving the objectives of this research, the yarns were produced from lyocell fibers at five strand spacings and four different twist multipliers. Tracer fiber technique combined with image analysis were utilized to study the yarn migration parameters. Afterwards, the yarns were subjected to uniaxial loading by a CRE tensile tester. The measured results are presented in forms of diagrams and tables. The findings reveal that, as strand spacing is increased, yarn tenacity increases up to strand spacing of 8 mm beyond which it reduces. Analysis of the results indicates that the higher tenacity values at the strand spacing of 8 mm can be attributed to the higher mean fiber position, higher migration factor, higher proportion of broken fibers and lower hairiness.  相似文献

This paper reports the effects of bleaching of alpaca tops and dyeing of bleached alpaca tops/yarns on the quality of tops and yarns. A dark brown alpaca top was bleached with hydrogen peroxide. Two bleaching methods were tried for effectiveness of color removal. A portion of each bleached top was dyed after bleaching. Color parameters were examined for unbleached, bleached and bleached/dyed tops, these tops were then converted into yarns of different twist levels and counts using a worsted spinning system. Some of the bleached yarn from each bleaching method was dyed in a package dye vat to compare the difference of top dyeing versus yarn package dyeing on yarn quality. Fiber diameter, yarn strength, yarn evenness, yarn hairiness and fiber degradation were tested to examine the effects of bleaching and dyeing on these properties at top and yarn stages. A processing route for bleaching and dyeing alpaca fiber was recommended.  相似文献

Murata vortex spinning system is based on the air jet spinning system. The vast majority of previous works deal with the properties of vortex spun (VS) yarn and the spinning system. In this study, we investigated knitted fabrics from VS yarn in comparison with fabrics from ring (RS), compact (CS) and open-end rotor (OES) spun yarns made from viscose. The effect of yarn spinning system on dimensional and physical properties of knitted fabrics was explained with specific attention to fabrics from VS yarn. Shrinkage of fabrics from VS yarn has the lowest at widthwise direction, while having the highest at lengthwise direction. It is shown that the order of fabric spirality and twist liveliness for yarns from different spinning systems are quite similar. However, relation between loop shape factor and angle of spirality is inconsistent. Angle of spirality of fabrics from VS yarn is higher than fabrics from OES yarn, but lower than that of others. The bursting strength of fabrics from VS yarn is lower than that of those from RS and CS yarns and higher than that of those from OES yarn. From this study, it is also evident that fabrics from VS yarn have the lowest pilling tendency and highest resistance to abrasion.  相似文献

A modified ring spinning technique has been recently developed by incorporating false twisting devices into the conventional ring frame. Its application on the coarser yarn counts (7–32 Ne) showed notable advantages in modified yarn and fabric performance. More recently, it was noted that this technique can also be applied for producing finer cotton yarns. Thus this paper aims to carry out a systematic study of the physical properties of the finer modified yarns (80 Ne) and woven fabrics with respect to the conventional ones. Physical properties of conventional and modified single yarns were evaluated and compared. These two types of single yarn were used for the production of woven fabrics. Moreover, the above two types of single yarn were also plied and used for the production of woven fabrics under a commercial condition. All woven fabrics were assessed in terms of fabric tensile strength, tearing strength, abrasion resistance, fabric weight, and air-permeability as well as other fabric performance measured by the Kawabata Evaluation System (KES). Experimental results showed that finer modified yarns and fabrics exhibit higher strength, lower hairiness, and improved abrasion resistance, slightly better compression property, and smoother surface with relatively larger thickness.  相似文献

In this study artificial neural network (ANN) models have been designed to predict the ring cotton yarn properties from the fiber properties measured on HVI (high volume instrument) system and the performance of ANN models have been compared with our previous statistical models based on regression analysis. Yarn count, twist and roving properties were selected as input variables as they give significant influence on yarn properties. In experimental part, a total of 180 cotton ring spun yarns were produced using 15 different blends. The four yarn counts and three twist multipliers were chosen within the range of Ne 20–35 and α e 3.8–4.6 respectively. After measuring yarn tenacity and breaking elongation, evaluations of data were performed by using ANN. Afterwards, sensitivity analysis results and coefficient of multiple determination (R2) values of ANN and regression models were compared. Our results show that ANN is more powerful tool than the regression models.  相似文献

A methodology and apparatus have been proposed to indirectly evaluate twist liveliness of spun yarns by measuring the number of snarl turns formed of a yarn submerged in a water bath. A comparative study was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of water in the measurement of yarn snarls. T tests showed that water has a significant effect in the snarl forming and testing results. Systematic studies were then carried out in the intra and inter laboratories to evaluate the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed measurement system. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) for the studies showed that there is no significant difference in measuring twist liveliness between the operators in the same laboratory and between the operators from different laboratories, respectively. The largest variance in the tests is attributed to the expected variation in the level of snarl turns in different yarn specimens. The experimental results showed that the developed yarn snarling apparatus has made accurate and repeatable measurements of twist liveliness over a range of 100 % cotton ring spun yarn counts.  相似文献

A low torque spinning method has been recently developed by integrating the ring spinning process with false twisting techniques. As a result of false twist and true twist, a novel single yarn of low torque and soft handle is generated. Based on the similar spinning principle, this paper proposed a 2-step spinning method, which is composed of twisting-anduntwisting operation and can be considered as a variant of the low torque spinning method. The proposed spinning method separates the false twisting process into twisting and untwisting processes which are combined in one step in the low torque spinning method. In this paper, physical properties of yarns produced by the proposed spinning method were evaluated and compared with the conventional yarns. Influences of various spinning parameters on the properties of 2-step yarns were also examined. Furthermore, a systematic study of the physical properties of the 2-step yarns and resultant fabrics with respect to the conventional and low torque ones was carried out. The experimental results showed that the 2-step yarns exhibit slightly higher tenacity, lower wet snarl and much less hairiness than the conventional yarns, which, however, are inferior to the low torque yarns, particularly the evenness. The fabrics made by the 2-step yarns show the softest handle feeling, best airpermeability and moderate spirality angle with acceptable pilling resistance.  相似文献

In this study, a multiple response optimization model based on response surface methodology was developed to determine the best rotor speed and yarn twist level for optimum rotor yarn strength and unevenness, and minimum yarn hairiness and imperfections. Cotton yarn of 30 tex, was produced on rotor spinning machine with different twist levels (i.e. 500, 550, 600 and 700 tpm) at different rotor speeds (i.e. 70000, 80000, 90000 and 100000 rpm). Yarn quality characteristics were determined for all the experiments. Based on the results, multiple response optimization model was developed using response surface regression on MINITAB® 16 statistical tool. Optimization results indicate that with the quality of raw material selected for this study, top 50 % quality level, according to USTER® yarn quality benchmarks, can be achieved with 100 % desirability satisfaction for all the selected yarn quality parameters at rotor speed of 77,800 rpm and yarn twist of 700 twists per meter.  相似文献

Ever since the spinning process was developed, numerous research studies have been conducted and many precision instruments have been developed to control the tension in moving yarn. These efforts, however, have remained insufficient because many factors that need to be considered have not been handled in an integrated manner. To overcome this limitation, various parameters that affect the tension must be examined and the relationships among them must be discovered. Hence, the present paper reviews a variety of parameters for yarn moving from a ring spinning machine to a winding machine. These two machines, in particular, involve a series of phenomena in which the yarn passes over a stationary surface. In addition, the relevant parameters related to force, tension, and yarn motion need to be separately investigated in each spinning section (e.g., the balloon, the section from the bobbin to the traveler, and the section from the bobbin to the unwinding package) and at each part (e.g., the traveler, yarn guide, package, and tensioner).  相似文献

Spandex fibers have superior stretch and elastic recovery ability. Composite yarns containing spandex are frequently used to manufacture elastic textile products and accessories. We have developed a composite yarn spinning system that produces different kinds of composite yarns containing spandex on a modified open-end rotor spinning frame. By changing the twisting parameter of composite yarns, we studied the structure and properties of rotor-spun composite yarns with spandex. The results indicate that the twisting parameter has great influence on the structure and properties of rotor-spun composite yarns with spandex. The linear density of spandex filament has influence on the properties of composite yarns too. In comparison with normal rotor-spun yarn, the appearance of composite yarns is clearer, the structure is much tighter, and the properties are improved.  相似文献

The impact of fiber friction, yarn twist, and splicing air pressure on mechanical and structural properties of spliced portion have been reported in the present paper. The mechanical properties include the tensile and bending related properties and, in the structural properties, the diameter and packing density of the splices are studied. A three variable three level factorial design approach proposed by Box and Behnken has been used to design the experiment. The results indicate that there is a strong correlation between retained spliced strength (RSS) and retained splice elongation (RSE) with all the experimental variables. It has been observed that RSS increases with the increase in splice air pressure and after certain level it drops, whereas it consistently increases with the increase in yarn twist. The RSE increases with the increase in both fiber friction and yarn twist. It has also been observed that the yarn twist and splicing air pressure have significant influence on splice diameter, percent increase in diameter and retained packing coefficient, but the fiber friction has negligible influence on these parameters. Yarn twist and splicing air pressure has a strong correlation with splice flexural rigidity, where as poor correlation with retained flexural rigidity.  相似文献
