South African juvenile dusky kob Argyrosomus japonicus are more abundant in turbid estuaries than in clear marine‐dominated estuaries. Turbidity can reduce light penetration into the water and create an environment different from that experienced by fish under culture conditions in mechanically filtered clear water. In order to optimize rearing conditions of this species, the effects of light intensity (23–315 lx) and feeding method (restricted ration vs. feeding to apparent satiation) on growth and food conversion ratio (FCR) of juvenile A. japonicus were assessed in a 56‐day growth trial. Fish weight increased from 7.2±1.6 to 41.9±10.2 g fish?1 at a growth rate of 3.25% body weight day?1. Light intensity did not significantly affect growth or FCR. Feeding method did not significantly affect growth rate, but average FCR was significantly better in treatments fed a ration of 3.6% body weight day?1 than in treatments fed to apparent satiation. Therefore, a light intensity range of 23–315 lx can be used to culture dusky kob juveniles. The better FCR in fish fed a restricted ration suggests that a ration of 3.6% body mass day?1 allowed good growth of juvenile dusky kob.  相似文献

There is some evidence that single‐cell proteins such as yeast have the potential to improve feed utilization in aquaculture fish, but this has not been investigated in the economically important dusky kob, Argyrosomus japonicus. This study was, therefore, designed to determine the effect of graded levels of dietary inactivated brewer's yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, on the growth performance and hemobiochemical parameters of dusky kob in a 6‐week feeding period. Five isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets—consisting of three brewer's yeast‐containing diets at rates of 50,150, and 300 g/kg dry matter (BY5P0, BY15P0, and BY30P0, respectively); a commercial dusky kob diet containing 10% probiotic mix but no brewer's yeast (BY0P1, positive control); and a commercial dusky kob diet with neither the probiotic mix nor the yeast (BY0P0, negative control)—were formulated. A total of 65 fish, weighing an average of 7.02 ± 0.10 g, were randomly distributed to each of 20 replicate tanks. Each dietary treatment was randomly allocated to four tanks and offered to fish at a rate of 2.8% fish body weight per day. A total of 10 fish from each tank were randomly sampled once a week for length and weight measurements. Blood was drawn from five fish per tank (20 fish per treatment) for hematology and serum biochemical analyses at the end of the 6 weeks. Fish on the BY0P0 diet achieved the highest weight gain of 18.53 ± 0.69 g after 6 weeks. Growth rate was significantly reduced in the groups fed BY15P0 and BY30P0 diets compared to the BY0P0, BY0P1, and BY5P0 groups. Fish fed the BY0P0 diet recorded the highest average feed conversion efficiency (FCE) of 0.22, while the BY30P0‐fed group recorded the lowest FCE of 0.15. Hematocrit and alanine transaminase levels declined with increasing levels of yeast. It can be concluded that the maximum inclusion level of brewer's yeast that does not impair growth performance and health of dusky kob is 50 g/kg.  相似文献

To determine dietary lysine requirement of dusky kob, Argyrosomus japonicus, six isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets (431 g/kg crude protein, 141 g/kg lipid and 20 kJ/kg) were formulated with graded levels of crystalline L‐lysine (18–42 g/kg of the dry diet). The protein source in the basal diet comprised fishmeal and soya, where a combination of L‐aspartic and L‐glutamic acids was maintained at a ratio of 1:1, and all diets were supplemented with a mixture of crystalline essential amino acids to simulate the amino acid profile in dusky kob. Dietary treatments were randomly assigned to triplicate groups of 12 fish (4.5 ± 0.2 g, mean weight; 66.5 ± 1.1 mm, total length ± SD), which were fed to apparent satiation three times daily for 12 weeks. The fish fed dietary L‐lysine at 21, 29 and 33 g/kg dry diet showed the highest specific growth rates (SGR) and the lowest feed conversion ratio. For most amino acids, retention in the body of the fish increased with an increase in dietary lysine from 18 to 21 g/kg, and it reached a maximum somewhere between 21 and 33 g/kg, where after amino acid retention decreased with increasing dietary lysine. Based on SGR and using segmented broken‐line analysis, the dietary L‐lysine requirement of juvenile dusky kob was estimated at 31.7 ± 1.6 g/kg dry diet corresponding to 73.5 g lysine per kg protein.  相似文献

The effect of stocking density on the growth of mulloway, Argyrosomus japonicus, was tested with 17 g fish stocked at 4.08, 8.16, or 16.32 kg m−3 in 50 l aquaria. Weight checks were carried out every 2 weeks to track performance. Each density treatment was also compared to a nonhandled control group to establish if handling during weight checks influenced the growth of mulloway. Mulloway performed poorly at the lowest density and, under the current experiment conditions, growth did not appear to be negatively affected by regular handling.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to describe the interactive effects of varying digestible protein (DP) and digestible energy (DE) contents on the feed intake, growth, protein utilization and whole body composition of juvenile mulloway ( Argyrosomus japonicus ) and to determine the optimal DP : DE ratio for growth. This was achieved by feeding mulloway diets containing one of four different DP levels (250–550 g kg−1) at two DE levels (16 or 21 MJ kg−1). Juvenile mulloway were stocked at each of two different sizes (70 or 200 g) in triplicate groups for each dietary treatment and fed twice daily to apparent satiation over 58 days. The results indicated that feed intake was not governed solely by energy demands but was also dependant on the DP content of the diet. Protein utilization did not improve with diets containing decreasing protein and increasing lipid content indicating that mulloway have a limited capacity to spare DP. Optimal DP content was found to be 444–491 g kg−1 depending on the DE content of the diet and the size of mulloway and is within the range reported for other sciaenid species. The use of formulated diets with 28.6 g of DP MJ DE−1 will achieve optimal growth and protein deposition for 70–275 g mulloway.  相似文献

This paper reports on experiments conducted to examine the combined effects of salinity and potassium concentration on survival and growth of juvenile mulloway (Argyrosomus japonicus, Temminck and Schlegel) in inland saline groundwater. Three separate experiments were conducted in 20 (±1)°C water. In the first experiment, mulloway were held in 60 L aquaria (triplicate) with salinities of 5, 15, 25 or 35 g L?1 and potassium concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60% or 80% of the concentration present in oceanic water of the equivalent salinity in a 4 × 4 factorial combination for 7 days. Response surface contour diagrams were generated from survival data to estimate optimal conditions. The results showed that maximum survival of juvenile mulloway occurred at salinities of >14 g L?1 and potassium concentrations of >38%. Survival was lowest at salinities of <7 and >33 g L?1 and potassium concentrations of <25%. The second experiment was conducted with mulloway held in 60 L aquaria at salinities of 15, 25 or 35 g L?1 and potassium concentrations of 40%, 60%, 80% or 100% in a 3 × 4 factorial combination for 44 days. Optimal conditions for maximum survival and growth of mulloway were within a salinity range of 15–35 g L?1 and potassium concentration above 40%. The third experiment was conducted in three 500 L tanks to record the survival and growth of mulloway fingerlings held at 20 (±1)°C, 23 g L?1 salinity and potassium concentrations of 50% for 8 months. Survival and growth of mulloway fingerling in inland saline groundwater were similar to those reported from a semi‐intensive floating tank system in inland saline water and sea cage trials in oceanic water.  相似文献

The effects of thermal amplitudes of diel fluctuating temperature on growth and oxygen consumption of the juvenile sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus (Selenka) were studied at the average temperatures of 15 and 18°C with three diel different fluctuating amplitudes of ±2, ±4 and ±6°C. The optimum thermal amplitudes for growth of the juvenile sea cucumber at the sizes of this experiment, at average temperatures of 15 and 18°C, were estimated to be ±1.38 and ±1.67°C respectively. In the constant temperature regimes, the growth rate at 15°C was higher than that at 18°C. However, the growth rate at 18±2°C was higher than that at 15±2°C. The results from this study suggested that fluctuating temperatures enhanced the optimum temperature for the growth of sea cucumbers compared with that at constant temperatures. Therefore, accurate predictions of the optimum temperature of sea cucumbers in the natural environment, in which water temperatures fluctuate daily and seasonally, should be made from data obtained at fluctuating temperatures.  相似文献

This study sought to determine the optimal temperature(s) for aquaculture of juvenile red‐spotted grouper Epinephelus akaara (Temminck & Schlegel) (mean initial BW: 3.1 g). Growth performance, insulin‐like growth factor 1 (IGF‐1) expression and thermal stress responses (plasma cortisol, glucose, and hepatic heat shock protein 60 expression) were evaluated at three constant temperatures (24°C, 26°C and 28°C) in a 2‐week trial. At the end of the trial, final BW was significantly higher at 26°C and 28°C than at 24°C (p < 0.05); a quadratic regression analysis of final BW showed the optimum temperature for growth was 27.5°C (p < 0.05, R2 = 0.806). The highest hepatic IGF‐1 expression was observed at 26°C (p < 0.05). On the other hand, hepatic heat shock protein 60 expression was highest at 28°C (p < 0.05), suggesting thermal stress. In conclusion, temperature optima, which support excellent growth but induce minimal thermal stress, was 26°C. This fine information within a narrow temperature range is expected to give empirical information for red‐spotted grouper farmers to sustain maximal production efficiency with avoiding thermal stress and to determine the future location of production, especially in consideration of arising seawater temperatures.  相似文献

设计不同温度梯度(10~25℃),对刺参(Apostichopusjaponicus)幼参的生长、耗氧率和体组成进行分析。结果表明,温度对刺参幼参生长有显著性影响,生长曲线呈"钟形",在水温10~15℃,特定生长率逐渐升高,在水温15~25℃,特定生长率逐渐降低。根据温度与特定生长率关系式计算得出,刺参最适生长温度为15 5℃。不同温度对刺参幼参耗氧率有显著性影响,在10~25℃,随着温度升高,刺参幼参耗氧率呈逐渐上升趋势。20~25℃的温度系数(Q10)高于10~15℃和15~20℃的Q10,表明高温时温度变化对刺参幼参影响较大。协方差分析表明,不同温度对刺参幼参体组成和能值有显著影响(P<0 05)。在10℃处理组,刺参体内粗蛋白、粗脂肪与能值均最高。随着温度的升高,粗脂肪含量和能值逐渐降低。  相似文献

This study investigates the effect of digestible protein levels in experimental diets for meagre (Argyrosomus regius). A group of 253 fish, 52 g of mean weight, was distributed in 12 tanks, three replicates per treatment. Four isolipidic diets (170 g kg?1 crude lipid) with different digestible protein levels (350 g kg?1, 430 g kg?1, 490 g kg?1 and 530 g kg?1) were formulated using commercial ingredients. The trial lasted 62 days. Meagre fed diets 430, 490 and 530 g kg?1 obtained higher TGC (2.47, 2.57, 2.69 × 10?3, respectively) than fish fed diet 350 g kg?1 (2.14 × 10?3). Group of fish fed diet with 350 g kg?1 DP showed the lowest ammonia excretion level. According to the in vitro digestibility trial diets with 350 and 430 g kg?1 DP released less amino acids in comparison with diet with 49% DP, although in vivo digestibility test did not show significant differences among diets 430, 490 and 530 g kg?1 DP. Using the quadratic regression, optimal digestible protein intake according to the ECR for rearing juvenile meagre was recorded in 0.8 g DP/100 g fish and day.  相似文献

Individual silver kob Argyrosomus inodorus (Griffiths and Heemstra) first mature at just over 1 yr of age and the median age at maturity is approximately 1.5 yr. Spawning of silver kob was observed in the southern and central region of the stock's range, but little spawning activity was found in silver kob sampled from the northern region. The spawning period is protracted over 6 months (October–March), which coincides with warmer water temperatures (>15 °C) and the occurrence of large-sized spawning silver kob in the southern and central part of Namibia. Implementing a minimum size limit for the silver kob fishery is not recommended as it will have serious economic implications for the coastal communities. The protection of the spawning areas, Meob Bay and Sandwich, should be continued and a strict bag limit on large-sized silver kob is recommended for the Namibian silver kob recreational fishery.  相似文献

研究不同养殖温度(15℃、18℃、21℃、24℃、27℃)对施氏鲟(Acipenser schrenckii)幼鱼摄食、生长和肠道消化酶活性的影响。结果表明,在15~24℃范围内,幼鱼的特定生长率(SGR)和相对增重率(RWG)随温度的升高而显著增加(P<0.05),均在24℃时达到最高值;随着温度升高,其饵料系数(FC)先降低后升高(P<0.05),且在24℃时达到最小值;此外,摄食率(FR)随着温度的升高而显著升高(P<0.05),其不同温度组的生长速度由高到低依次为24℃、21℃、27℃、18℃、15℃组。温度对幼鱼前肠蛋白酶活性影响显著,24℃组和27℃组前肠的蛋白酶活性显著低于15℃组(P<0.05),而温度对中肠和后肠蛋白酶活性则无显著性影响(P>0.05);温度对幼鱼肠道脂肪酶活性无显著性影响(P>0.05),各温度组前肠脂肪酶活性均高于中肠和后肠;温度对幼鱼肠道淀粉酶活性无显著性影响(P>0.05)。综合以上结果认为,施氏鲟幼鱼快速生长的适宜温度范围为21~24℃,在此温度范围内施氏鲟幼鱼可获得最大生长率和存活率。  相似文献

Larvae, juveniles, and adults of Japanese anchovy, Engraulis japonicus , were distributed throughout the Kuroshio-Oyashio transition region off northern Japan as far offshore as 170°E in 1996 and 1997. The growth trajectories of individual larvae and early juveniles were backcalculated using the biological intercept method based on the allometric relationship between otolith radius and somatic length. Mean larval growth rates ranged from 0.49 to 0.71 mm day–1 in the transition region, and were comparable to those reported from the Pacific coastal waters of central Japan, which is the principal distribution range of E. japonicus . In terms of growth, the Kuroshio-Oyashio transition region seemed to be a favourable nursery area for larval E. japonicus . Larval growth tended to decline from the inshore to the offshore waters in the transition region. Thermal conditions did not show an inshore–offshore trend in the survey area and did not explain the longitudinal trend in growth rates.  相似文献

为探讨沙塘鳢苗种适宜生长水温,试验分别在20、23、26、29和32℃的水温下进行。试验水族箱体积为50cm×40cm×30cm,饲养30d,同一水温的每个试验组设3个重复。结果显示:在20~29℃,鱼体的增重率和增长率随着水温的增高而增长,32℃时增重率和增长率有所下降。沙塘鳢生长的适温范围为23~32℃,最适水温为(29±1)℃。  相似文献

环境温度短周期波动对鱼类的生长和能量代谢有重要影响,实验在室内可控条件下,对褐牙鲆幼鱼在经历高温—最佳温度循环的生长与能量分配进行了研究。在为期40 d的实验中,驯养于20 ℃的褐牙鲆幼鱼在每个为期10 d的循环中分别经历0 d(H0)、2 d(H2)、4 d(H4)、6 d(H6)和8 d(H8)的26.5 ℃高温胁迫后,剩余的天数恢复到最佳温度(20 ℃)下养殖。实验结束时,经历不同天数高温胁迫的各处理组的褐牙鲆幼鱼以干重、湿重、蛋白质和能量表示的鱼体重均显著小于对照组(H0)。实验期间摄食量少和分配于生长的能量减少是导致经历高温胁迫的处理生长减慢的主要原因。经历高温胁迫的处理组的摄食量都显著低于对照组,但摄食率、消化率以及饲料转化效率都与对照组无明显差异。经受高温处理的H2、H4和H6组分配于生长的能量与对照组没有显著差异,但H4组的能量损失于粪便最多,H6组的能量损失于排泄的比例最高。H8组褐牙鲆幼鱼个体分配于生长的能量比例显著低于其他处理,代谢消耗的能量比例显著高于其他处理。经历不同温度循环处理的褐牙鲆幼鱼单位体重日摄食能与对照组相比没有显著差异,但分配于生长的能量却显著低于对照组。结果表明,褐牙鲆幼鱼对高温—最佳温度循环的适应能力较差,生长受到温度周期波动的抑制。  相似文献

A two (dietary energy levels; low energy, LE and high energy, HE) × 4 (feeding frequency; one feeding in 2 days, one feeding daily, two times daily and three times daily) factorial experiment was performed to determine the effects of dietary energy level and/or feeding frequency on the growth and body composition of juvenile flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. The survival rate was not significantly different among treatments. Weight gain of fish fed the LE and HE diets significantly increased as feeding frequency increased. The weight gain of fish fed the LE diet was higher at each level of increasing feeding frequency. The weight gain of fish fed the HE diet was higher than that of fish fed the LE diet once in 2 days and once daily, but weight gain of fish fed the HE diet was lower than the LE diet three times daily. Daily feed intake was significantly influenced by feeding frequency, but not by dietary energy level. Feed efficiency of fish fed the HE diet once daily was significantly higher than that of fish fed the LE diet once in 2 days, but no significant difference in feed efficiency was observed among other groups of fish. The protein efficiency ratio of fish fed the LE diet once in 2 days was the lowest. Feeding frequency and dietary energy level had a significant effect on the body lipid content. A feeding frequency of two times or three times daily would be effective, depending on dietary energy level for maximum growth of juvenile flounder grown from 3.5 to 15 g.  相似文献

To investigate the effects of body size and water temperature on feeding and growth in the sea cucumber Apostichopus japonicus (Selenka), the maximum rate of food consumption in terms of energy (Cmaxe; J day?1) and the specific growth rate in terms of energy (SGRe; % day?1) in animals of three body sizes (mean±SE) – large (134.0±3.5 g), medium (73.6±2.2 g) and small (36.5±1.2 g) – were determined at water temperatures of 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30°C. Maximum rate of food consumption in terms of energy increased and SGRe decreased with increasing body weight at 10, 15 and 20°C. This trend, however, was not apparent at 25 and 30°C, which could be influenced by aestivation. High water temperatures (above 20°C) were disadvantageous to feeding and growth of this animal; SGRe of A. japonicus during aestivation was negative. The optimum temperatures for food consumption and for growth were similar and were between 14 and 15°C, and body size seemed to have a slight effect on the optimal temperature for food consumption or growth. Because aestivation of A. japonicus was temperature dependent, the present paper also documented the threshold temperatures to aestivation as indicated by feeding cessation. Deduced from daily food consumption of individuals, the threshold temperature to aestivation for large and medium animals (73.3–139.3 g) was 24.5?25.5°C, while that for small animals (28.9–40.7 g) was between 25.5 and 30.5°C. These values are higher than previous reports; differences in sign of aestivation, experimental condition and dwelling district of test animals could be the reasons.  相似文献
