Zusammenfassung Es wird die Zusammensetzung einer Sammlung von Land- bzw. Primitivsorten der Kulturtomaten aus Mittelamerika beschrieben. Diese wurden von F. Schwanitz im Jahre 1958 in den Staaten El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras und Costa Rica gesammelt. Die Früchte stammen hauptsächlich von den Märkten der Ortschaften.Es werden die Merkmale des Sprosses und der Fiederblätter sowie der Blüten und Früchte beschrieben, die die Formenmannigfaltigkeit dieser Tomatenkollektion charakterisieren. Die in dem Material vorkommenden Fruchtformen lassen sich in vierzehn Gruppen zusammenfassen. Darunter fallen besonders auf: die extrem langen, bleistiftförmigen Früchte, die länglich-breiten, beutelförmigen Früchte sowie die Früchte mit isoliert stehenden Carpellen. Sehr zahlreich sind bei fast allen Fruchtformen die violettroten Früchte mit durchsichtiger Fruchthaut.Während der Bearbeitung konnte eine starke Heterozygotie des Materials beobachtet werden, aus der man auf eine weit verbreitete Fremdbefruchtung bei den kultivierten Tomaten dieser Gebiete schließen kann.Zum Schluß werden die Eigentümlichkeiten der Formenmannigfaltigkeit der Tomaten dieser Länder erörtert. Daraus ergibt sich, daß das Zentrum der Formenmannigfaltigkeit der kultivierten Tomaten von dem Süden Mexikos (Gebiet von Veracruz und Puebla) bis nach El Salvador und Honduras reicht.
Summary The varietal diversity of a collection of tomatoes (landraces or primitive strains) from Central-America is described. The tomatoes were collected in 1958 by F. Schwanitz in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Costa Rica, mainly in native markets (fig. 1, table 1).The progenies of the collected fruits were separately cultiveted at Gatersleben from 1960 to 1964. Characters of shoots, leaves, flowers, and fruits are described as far as necessary for characterizing this collection (figs. 2-19). The fruit-forms are grouped into 14 types (figs. 20-41). Among these are extrem long-fruited, so-called lead pencil-shaped (fig. 24), wide oblong-fruited, so-called baggy-shaped (fig. 30) fruits and other ones with so-called isolated carpels (figs. 38 and 40). Nearly all the types include tomatoes with colourless skin, which imparts to the ripe fruit a pinkish cast.There was observed a high degree of heterozygosity which can be attributed to a considerable frequency of natural cross-pollination in these countries.The results of this inquiry are discussed with regard to the peculiarity of this great range of tomato types in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. Hence it follows that the Southern Mexico center of varietal diversity of cultivated tomatoes, the Veracruz — Puebla area in particular (cf. Jenkins 1948), extends to El Salvador and Honduras.

Zusammenfassung Es werden 75 röntgeninduzierte Mutanten der Sommergerstensorten Donaria und Haisa morphologisch beschrieben. Sie werden unter der Rangstufe Linie (auf dem gleichen Rang wie die Sorte), zusammengefaßt nach Hauptmerkmalen, in das morphologische System eingeordnet. 71 dieser Mutantenlinien konnten 17 verschiedenen Varietäten (4 Convarietäten) zugeordnet werden. Zwei dieser Varietäten (var.calcaratum, p. 144; var.heteroglumatum p. 152) stellen neue Merkmalskombinationen dar und werden beschrieben. Bei den restlichen 4 Mutantenlinien stieß die Einordnung auf Schwierigkeiten, ihre Stellung bleibt vorläufig offen. 相似文献

Zusammenfassung 49 röntgeninduzierte Mutanten der Wintergerstensorten Friedrichswerther Berg, Peragis Mittelfrühe II, Kleinwanzlebener 12 und Mahndorfer werden morphologisch beschrieben. Sie werden unter der Rangstufe Linie (auf dem gleichen Rang wie die Sorte), zusammengefaßt nach Hauptmerkmalen, in das morphologische System eingeordnet. Sie konnten 10 verschiedenen Varietäten der convar.hexastichon (L.) Alef. s. l. zugeordnet werden. Eine dieser Varietäten (var.semiaristatum, p. 240) stellt eine neue Merkmalskombination dar und wird beschrieben.Soweit bisher Kreuzungsanalysen vorliegen, werden Angaben über die Vererbung des Hauptmerkmals bei den einzelnen Mutanten gemacht; in der Regel liegen monogen rezessive Erbgänge vor. Drei verschiedene Ausprägungsgrade des Hauptmerkmals Grannen kurz und brüchig konnten auf ebenso viele Glieder einer Serie multipler Allele zurückgeführt werden (S. 235 ff). Zusammenfassung Es werden verschiedene Infloreszenzformen vonSetaria italica (L.) Beauv. vergleichend morphologisch untersucht. Wie der Vergleich mit der Wildsippe,Setaria viridis (L.) Beauv. zeigt, ist die Entwicklung zur Kulturart mit verschiedenen progressiven Veränderungen im reproduktiven Bereich des Verzweigungssystems verbunden. Dabei führt die zunehmende Förderung der Infloreszenzhauptachse sowie der Partialinfloreszenzen zu einer Vergrößerung und verstärkten Gliederung der Gesamtinfloreszenz. Daneben werden auch regressive Entwicklungstendenzen sichtbar, die in einer zunchmenden Reduktion des Basis- und Spitzenbereichs der Infloreszenz zum Ausdruck kommen. Die stärkste morphologische Ableitung haben Formen mit einer dichotom verzweigten Infloreszenz erfahren. Die Ausprägung der Infloreszenzmerkmale zeigt eine starke Umweltabhängigkeit.
Contribution to the morphology of the inflorescences ofSetaria italica (L.) Beauv.
Summary The morphology of different types of inflorescences were investigated in Setaria italica (L.) Beauv. The comparison with the wild species,Setaria viridis (L.) Beauv., shows that the evolution towards the cultivated species is combined with different progressive changes in the reproductive part of the ramification system. Thereby the increasing promotion of the main axis of the inflorescence as well as the partial inflorescences leads to an enlargement and increased articulation of the whole inflorescence. Besides regressive developmental tendencies are also observed, as expressed by increasing reduction of the basis and the top of inflorescence. The greatest deviation is seen in the form with dichotomous branched inflorescences. The characters of the inflorescences depend greatly on the environmental conditions.

The methanolic root extract of Glycine max (L.) Merr. was chromatographed, which yielded 10 flavonoids, including three isoflavones 1-3, five pterocarpans 4-8, one flavonol 9, and one anthocyanidin 10. All isolated compounds were examined for LDL-antioxidant activities using four different assay systems on the basis of Cu2+-mediated oxidation. Among them, seven compounds showed potent LDL-antioxidant activities in the thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) assay, the lag time of conjugated diene formation, relative electrophoretic mobility (REM), and fragmentation of apoB-100 on copper-mediated LDL oxidation. Three pterocarpans 4, 6, and 7, never reported as LDL-antioxidant, showed potent activities with IC50 values of 19.8, 0.9, 45.0 microM, respectively, in comparison with probucol (IC50 = 5.6 microM) as positive control. Interestingly, coumestrol 6 (IC50 = 0.9 microM) showed 20 times more activity in the TBARS assay than genistein (IC50 = 30.1 microM) and daidzein (IC50 = 21.6 microM), representative antioxidants in soybean. Moreover, coumestrol 6 had an extended lag time of 190 min at 3.0 microM in measuring conjugated diene formation, while both genistein (120 min) and daidzein (93 min) lag times were extended to less than 120 min at the same concentration. 相似文献

Abstract Six cultivars and three lines of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) were planted at two locations in Delaware in 1974 and 1975. Potassium fertilizer (KCl) at 0, 56, or 223 kg/ha actual K was added to the soil and the plants were evaluated for seed yield and incidence of gray‐moldy and purple‐stained seed. Potassium application was related to a decrease in yield in one year at one location but had no significant effect in the other year or at the other location. Cultivars differed in yield over the two years, with Kent, Cutler 71, and York having the most consistent yield in this study. The pathogen incidence was not affected by potassium application in contrast to earlier studies with soybeans grown in aluminum cylinders with a partially restricted soil volume. In this study, gray‐moldy and purple‐stain was highest in short season cultivars and higher at Georgetown than at Newark. Use of soybean cultivars resistant to diseases as well as maintaining adequate soil potassium levels should reduce high levels of disease. 相似文献

Soybean isoflavone concentrations vary widely, but the contribution of soil fertility and nutrient management to this variability is unknown. Field experiments from 1998 to 2000 on soils with low to high exchangeable potassium (K) concentrations evaluated K application and placement effects on isoflavone concentrations and composition of soybean in various tillage and row-width systems. Soybean seed yield and concentrations of daidzein, genistein, glycitein, leaf K, and seed K were measured. Significant increases in daidzein, genistein, and total isoflavone were observed with direct deep-banded K or residual surface-applied K on low-K soils. Positive effects of K fertilization on isoflavones were less frequent on medium- to high-testing K soils. Both individual and total isoflavones were often positively correlated with seed yield, leaf K, and seed K on low-K soils. Appropriate K management could be an effective approach to increase isoflavone concentrations for soybeans produced on low- to medium-K soils. 相似文献

The seedlings of the soybean ( Glycine max. (L.) Merr.) cv. Polan were investigated by subjecting them to water culture for a period of 14 d. To the Knop nutrient solution, lead was added as PbCl2 at four concentrations: 0, 10, 20 and 40 mg dm−3 . Observations of soybean leaf tissues were carried out by light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The Pb levels used in the present study reduced the area of cotyledons and leaf blades of the soybean plants. Pb-induced changes in the leaf epidermis structure involved a reduction in the cell size, more abundant wax coating, and an increase in the number of stomata and trichomes per unit area with simultaneous reduction in the size of the guard cells. The lead treatment resulted in the reduction in the thickness of the leaf blades, reduction in the area of xylem and phloem in the vascular bundles and in the diameter of the xylem vessels. Under Pb stress, the leaf mesophyll cells were characterized by the presence of altered chloroplasts with a reduced lamellar system and multidirectional pattern of the thylakoid system. Burst stroma of the thylakoid system and cracked chloroplast envelopes were also observed. The importance of the increase in the number of stomata and trichomes for plants under the metal stress was examined. 相似文献

This study analyzed soybean seeds from 116 cultivars for total, insoluble, and soluble oxalate (Ox), phytate (InsP6), calcium (Ca), and magnesium (Mg) because of their potential beneficial or harmful effects on human nutrition. These cultivars were divided into four groups (A-D) on the basis of the year and geographic location where they were grown. Oxalate concentration ranged from about 82 to 285 mg/100 g of dry seed. The InsP6 concentration ranged from 0.22 to 2.22 g/100 g of dry seed. There was no correlation between Ox and InsP6 within or among the four groups of cultivars. There was a significant correlation between total Ox and Ca, but not Mg, in group D cultivars (r = 0.3705; p < 0.0005). No significant relationship was found in the group A-C cultivars. Eleven group D cultivars had InsP6 less than 500 mg/100 g, but all had total Ox of 130 mg/100 g or greater. Five cultivars from groups A-C had relatively low InsP6 (group B; < or =1.01 g/100 g) and low Ox (<140 mg/100 g). These cultivars could be useful for producing soy foods beneficial to populations at risk for kidney stones and for improved mineral bioavailability. The Ox and InsP6 concentrations of the cultivars indicate that choosing specific parents could generate seeds in succeeding generations with desirable Ox and InsP6 concentrations. 相似文献

Twelve isoflavones were detected by high-performance liquid chromatography in seeds of 17 soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] cultivars grown at three locations. 6' '-O-Malonyldaidzin and 6' '-O-malonylgenistin together constituted 71-81% of total isoflavones, which ranged in concentration from 2038 to 9514 microg/g and averaged 5644 microg/g across locations and cultivars. The total as well as several individual isoflavones had a moderate negative correlation with oil across locations and cultivars. Six cultivars had a moderate or strong negative correlation of total isoflavones with oil. Five cultivars had a moderate or strong positive correlation of total isoflavones with protein. These results suggest that judicious selection of germplasm for soybean breeding may facilitate development of soybean lines with desirable isoflavone concentrations. 相似文献
