文冠果果实性状相关性研究

Xanthoceras sorbifolia provenances were obtained in their main districts, and some cone characters were tested which includes cone diameter(A), cone length(B), pericarp thickness(C), fruitstalk diameter(D), single cone weight(E), pericarp weight(F), seed weight(G), number of seed room(H), seed number(J), rate of seed of cone(K). From the analysis of those characters, it was found that the indexes of characters of single cone weight(E), seed weight(G), pericarp weight(F) had large disparities, and the indexes of characters of cone diameter(A), cone length(B), pericarp thickness(C), fruitstalk diameter(D) had small disparities. There were linearly positive correlations between indexes of characters, the relative coefficient of factors with A is E＞B＞F＞G＞D＞J＞C; the relative coefficient of factors with B is E>G>F>A>J>D>C;the relative coefficient of factors with C is J＞G＞E＞B＞F＞A;the relative coefficient of factors with D is E＞G＞F＞A＞B＞J;the relative coefficient of factors with E is F＞G＞A＞B＞J＞D＞C; the relative coefficient of factors with F is E＞G＞A＞B＞J＞D＞C;the relative coefficient of factors with G is E＞F＞B＞A＞J＞D＞C.

Success of three soil restoration techniques on seedling survival and growth of three plant species in the Sahel of Burkina Faso (West Africa)

In the Sahel of Africa, where 90 % of the population depends on natural resources for their livelihood, a large part of the soils are structurally unstable,prone to crusting and hard setting, and have low water holding capacity, which hamper vegetation establishment.The effect of soil restoration techniques on survival and growth of seedlings of Acacia nilotica, Acacia tortilis and Jatropha curcas was tested in completely barren, degraded land in a Sahelian ecosystem in Burkina Faso. A total of522 seedlings(174 plants of each plant species) were planted in a randomized complete block design with three replicates combining three soil preparation techniques:half-moon, za¨? and standard plantation. Survival and growth rates evaluated over 20 months were significantly higher using the half-moon technique compared with the other two techniques. Survival rates of plant species planted using half-moon technique were 62.5, 28.57 and10.71 % for A. nilotica, A. tortilis and J. curcas respectively, but in za¨? and standard planting, seedling survival was zero. The low survival rate of J. curcas using the half-moon technique may indicate that J. curcas is unsuitable for barren and degraded land, whereas A. nilotica and A. tortilis appear to be promising tree species for rehabilitation of degraded land.

Identification of Taxus cuspidata Sieb. et Zucc. endophytic fungi-new species, species known and their metabolite

A total of 94 isolates of endophytic fungi were isolated from the bark of 200-yr.-old Taxus cuspidata Sieb. et Zucc.in the primeval forest of the Changbai Mountain Natural Reserve, and 19 species of endophytic fungi were identified, including 10 new recorded-genus-species, 2 new species (Phomopsis Iongiscoleosporu Y. Xiang et Lu An Guo Wu Wen Fang, Coniothyrium macrospoum Y. Xiang J.X. et Lu An Guo Wu Wen Fang), 1 new varied species (Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler var. taxi Y.Xiang et Lu An Guo) and 6 known species of China (Eurotium amstelodomi Mgngin, Eurotium repens de Bary, Botrytis sp.,Penicillium citrinum Thom, Epicoccum nigrium LinK, Fusarium sp.). Through thin layer chromatography (TLC), liquid fermentation metabolite of the strains was determined, and four strains (Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler var. taxi Y. Xiang et Lu An Guo Wu Wen Fang, Botrytis sp., Eurotium amsteloodomi Mgngin, Eurotium repens de Bary) were screened out, whose metabolites reacted positively with the vanillic aldehyde that was one special taxoid developer. Among the four strains, Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler var. taxi Y. Xiang et Lu An Guo, produced one compound largely, which positively reacted with one alkaloids developer-Bismuth potassium iodide. The compound is identified as taxoids type through spectrum analysis. This demonstrates that Alternaria alternata (Fr.) Keissler var. taxiY. Xiang et Lu An Guo can highly produce taxoids largely.
