Pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) using restriction enzymes AvrII, SpeI, and XbaI, and repetitive sequence polymerase chain reaction (Rep-PCR) using BOX, ERIC, and REP primers, were compared with respect to their ability to detect genetic differences among 68 Salmonella isolates from nine Illinois swine farms. Both genotyping methods had high reproducibility of fragment numbers (reliability>0.9) and sizes (reliability>0.85), and produced approximately the same number of DNA fragments, but Rep-PCR fragment profiles had considerably greater variation. Genetic distances between isolates were calculated from fragment size matching. There was good agreement between the genetic distance matrices for the composite (3-enzyme and 3-primer) methods (Mantel’s r=0.83). PFGE detected slightly greater variation in genetic distances among isolates, but failed to differentiate seven pairs of isolates, three of which were sampled at least 1 month apart and therefore unlikely to be truly identical genetically. In contrast, Rep-PCR identified no isolates as genetically identical. In cluster analyses based on genetic distances, there were moderate differences between PFGE and Rep-PCR (about 2/3 agreement in tight cluster membership). Both PFGE and Rep-PCR were able to differentiate isolates of the same serotype. However, some serotypes (Agona, Anatum, Derby, Infantis, Worthington) were distributed across clusters. There was less agreement between individual primer/enzyme and composite results for Rep-PCR than for PFGE. This greater independence of results for individual primers for Rep-PCR accounted in part for the greater discriminative ability of the composite method. Both composite methods indicated that most Salmonella transmission occurred within a farm and that there was no preference for transmission between specific ecological compartments. Given the equally high reliability of both genotyping methods, the greater discriminative ability of Rep-PCR recommends it as the preferred method for precise detection of transmission links.  相似文献

There are few studies on antimicrobial susceptibility of Brachyspira pilosicoli, therefore this study was performed to investigate the situation among isolates from pigs. The tiamulin and tylosin susceptibility was determined by broth dilution for 93 and 86 porcine B. pilosicoli isolates, respectively. The isolates came from clinical samples taken in Swedish pig herds during the years 2002 and 2003. The tylosin minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) was >16 microg/ml for 50% (n=43) of the isolates tested. A tiamulin MIC >2 microg/ml was obtained for 14% (n=13) of the isolates and these were also tested against doxycycline, salinomycin, valnemulin, lincomycin and aivlosin. For these isolates the susceptibility to salinomycin and doxycycline was high but the MICs for aivlosin varied. The relationship between the 13 tiamulin resistant isolates was analyzed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Among the 13 isolates 10 different PFGE patterns were identified.  相似文献

Prevalence of intestinal pathogens in Danish finishing pig herds   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
Our aim was to determine the prevalence of the intestinal bacteria: Lawsonia intracellularis, Brachyspira hyodysenteriae, Serpulina intermedia, Brachyspira innocens, Brachyspira pilosicoli, pathogenic Escherichia coli (serogroups O138, O139, O141 and O149) and Salmonella enterica in Danish finishing pig herds. A total of 79 herds was randomly selected and visited during 1998. From each herd, 20 faecal samples were collected from individual pigs weighing 30–50 kg. Furthermore, 10 pooled pen samples were collected and examined for S. enterica. In total, 1580 faecal samples and 790 pen samples were collected and examined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or culture. L. intracellularis was found in 74 herds (93.7%), B. hyodysenteriae in two herds (2.5%), S. intermedia in 10 herds (12.7%), B. innocens in 27 herds (34.2%), B. pilosicoli in 15 herds (19.0%), pathogenic E. coli in 19 herds (24.1%) and S. enterica in eight herds (10.1%). The within-herd prevalences of L. intracellularis and B. hyodysenteriae were 25–30%; the within-herd prevalences of the other agents were 5–10%. Three herds (4%) were not infected with any of the bacteria and 25 herds (32%) were only infected with L. intracellularis.  相似文献

We evaluated the random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) techniques for studying an outbreak of beta-haemolytic streptococci group A (GAS) occurred at two maternity wards at Danderyd hospital, Stockholm, Sweden. All the isolates were of T-type 8,25. The RAPD technique revealed that all RAPD-PCR profiles were identical. PFGE showed that all the patterns but one were identical. These patterns were compared with 10 different T-type GAS from the strain collection of the Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control (SMI) and T-type 8,25 from different years and locations. The SMI strains exhibited patterns different from each other and all different from the isolates from Danderyd hospital. Moreover, RAPD could not differentiate among the T-type 8,25 isolates from different years and locations but PFGE showed differences among the amplicons. Our results indicated that the RAPD and PFGE techniques could be efficient tools in epidemiological studies of GAS.  相似文献

In 2005 and 2006, three adult female chamois (Rupicapra r. rupicapra) were found dead with signs of acute babesial infection in the eastern Swiss Alps. PCR on DNA extracted from blood or spleen of the carcasses revealed sequence identity of the amplified part of the 18S rRNA gene with GenBank entries attributed to Babesia divergens of cattle origin or B. capreoli of wild ruminant origin which have never been described before in this region. Examination of 424 blood samples from 314 head of cattle from this area by IFAT, microscopy and PCR provided no evidence for babesial infection. Six of 887 ticks collected from cattle were PCR-positive, and sequencing revealed Babesia sp. genotype EU1 in five and B. divergens/B. capreoli in one of them. A Babesia isolate of chamois, two isolates of roe deer from the same region and one isolate of a roe deer from the north-western Swiss Alps were genetically compared with two Swiss B. divergens isolates of cattle origin by analysing the genomic rDNA locus. Whereas the near full length sequences of the 18S rRNA gene were virtually identical among all six isolates (>99.4% identity), distinct differences between the two isolates from cattle on the one hand and the four isolates from free-ranging ruminants on the other hand were observed in the sequences of the internal transcribed spacers 1 and 2 (ITS1, ITS2) and part of the 28S rRNA gene. These results indicate that, albeit genetically very closely related, these babesial organisms from cattle and from free-ranging ruminants indeed are distinguishable organisms with different host specificities, and they support the use of the discrete species name B. capreoli for the B. divergens-like organisms from chamois and roe deer.  相似文献

The degree of genetic diversity in 45 Bordetella (B.) bronchiseptica strains comprised of a vaccine strain (N = 1), reference strains (N = 3) and field isolates (N = 41) was evaluated using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) fingerprinting and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Three candidate primers were selected for RAPD analysis after screening 20 random decamer oligonucleotides for their discriminatory abilities. The OPA-07, OPA-08 and OPA-18 primers yielded 10, 10, and 6 distinct fingerprint patterns, respectively. The most common identical RAPD pattern was produced by OPA-07 which was shared by 32 isolates (71.1%), the pattern produced by OPA-08 was shared by 26 isolates (57.8%), and the pattern produced by OPA-18 was shared by 40 isolates (88.9%). The RAPD patterns of the vaccine strain and the 3 reference strains did not match any of the patterns produced by the field isolates when primers OPA-07 and OPA-08 were used. PFGE using the restriction endonuclease XbaI produced a total of 15 patterns consisting of 4 PFGE types (A, B, B1 and C, differing by ≥ 4 bands) and 11 A subtypes (differing by ≤ 3 bands). Most of the field isolates exhibited identical type A and B patterns, suggesting that they were related. The vaccine strain and the three reference strains showed different PFGE patterns as compared to the identical type A strains.  相似文献

Thirty five strains of the host adapted Salmonella serotype Dublin (S. Dublin) have been characterized by IS200 patterns, ribotyping, pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE), restriction fragment polymorphism after hybridization with five randomly cloned DNA-framents of S. enteridis (RFLP), and plasmid profiling in order to divide the strains into ‘genomic lines’. For comparison, 20 other strains of 9 different group-D serotypes were included. The IS200 patterns were identical in all strains of S. Dublin examined. These patterns were different from those observed in other group-D Salmonella with the exception of one strain S. Enteritidis phage type 11 and a strain of S. Rostock. The insertion element IS200 was not detected in strains of S. Dar-es-Salam, S. (II) 9,12:z -, and S. Panama. RFLP, based on probing with five random cloned chromosomal fragments gave the same pattern in all strains except for one isolate from the UK. This strain was also found to have an unique PFGE pattern and ribotype. Among the remaining strains, three different PFGE patterns and 7 different ribotypes were observed. Based on all four typing methods, 8 different ‘genomic lines’ of S. Dublin were identified. The same grouping could be obtained from the use of ribotyping alone, but PFGE and RFLP were found to provide valuable information on possible relationships between ribotypes. Seven different plasmid profiles and a group of strains without plasmids were observed. In several cases, the same plasmid profile was shown to be present in more than one ‘genomic line’.  相似文献

Mycoplasma bovis is a major cause of respiratory outbreaks in cattle feedlots. In this study pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) was used to trace field strains and provide information on M. bovis patterns of spread in calf feedlots. The suitability of KpnI, MluI and SmaI restriction enzymes was assessed on different sets of strains. The discriminative power of the first two enzymes was first assessed using 28 epidemiologically unrelated strains; stability was 100% on multiple isolates from in vivo experimental infection. Thirty-nine field isolates from six feedlots were then evaluated. In contrast to the unique fingerprints displayed by the unrelated strains, the isolates from the feedlots showed identical patterns at the time of the outbreak of respiratory disease and 4 weeks later. The PFGE typing results suggest that M. bovis strains follow a clonal epidemic spread pattern at the herd level and that the same strain persists in calves of the herd after the clinical signs have disappeared.  相似文献

Forty-four Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae isolates recovered from both healthy and diseased pigs were characterized by random amplified polymorphic DNA analysis (RAPD), pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) and apx toxin gene typing. Nine RAPD types and 14 PFGE patterns were identified. No common RAPD or PFGE patterns were found between strains of serotype 1 and those of serotype 5. The RAPD analysis indicated that the 15 serotype 1 strains isolated from diseased pigs were assigned to 4 RAPD types, with 66% of strains characterized by the same RAPD type. By contrast, the 5 strains of serotype 1 isolated from healthy carriers were dispersed in 4 RAPD types. These data suggest that the diversity of strains isolated from healthy pigs could be higher than that of strains recovered from diseased pigs. In addition, all serotype 5 strains exhibited a unique RAPD type. Unlike RAPD, PFGE analysis allowed discrimination among isolates of serotype 1 and among those of serotype 5. All but 3 isolates showed the same apx genotype as their respective serotype reference strain. These data indicate that RAPD analysis is a valuable rapid tool for routine subtyping of strains of serotype 1. For strains of serotype 5, a combination of several typing methods, such as PFGE and apx gene typing, is needed to provide useful information on the molecular epidemiology of swine pleuropneumonia.  相似文献

为研究宠物犬源blaCTX-M基因阳性肺炎克雷伯菌的携带情况,同时了解宠物犬携带blaCTX-M基因肺炎克雷伯菌的耐药表型和分子特征,本研究从355只宠物犬的鼻拭子和肛拭子中分离头孢噻肟耐药细菌,通过16S rDNA和基质辅助激光解吸电离飞行时间质谱鉴定细菌种属。对鉴定为肺炎克雷伯菌的菌株,运用PCR检测blaCTX-M基因,药物敏感性试验测定blaCTX-M基因阳性肺炎克雷伯菌的耐药表型,PFGE分型和全基因组测序技术分析blaCTX-M基因阳性肺炎克雷伯菌的分子特征。PCR结果显示,共分离到7株blaCTX-M基因阳性肺炎克雷伯菌,3株来自宠物肛拭子,4株来自宠物鼻拭子;药敏试验结果显示,7株菌均对头孢噻呋、头孢噻肟和阿莫西林-克拉维酸耐药,但对多黏菌素E、美罗培南和替加环素敏感。PFGE结果显示,其中3株细菌相似度为100%,而另外4株细菌相似度差异较大(<30%)。全基因组结果显示,7株菌共有5个ST分型,blaCTX-M基因分离的亚型为CTX-M-14型(n=5)和CTX-M-3型(n=2),同时这些菌株中还携带了其他β-内酰胺类、氨基糖苷类和氟喹诺酮类耐药基因。从本研究结果可以看出,目前宠物犬源blaCTX-M基因阳性肺炎克雷伯菌的检出率较低,但其多重耐药性较严重,本研究分离的耐药基因blaCTX-MblaSHV亚型与国内外流行有差异。目前宠物在抗生素的使用和监控上仍有不足,需进一步关注宠物细菌耐药性,为后续防控提供依据。  相似文献

Antigenic differences among Australian vaccine and field strains of Babesia bovis were investigated in an attempt to identify strain specific antigens. Immunoblots revealed substantial differences between the current vaccine strains, designated T and Dixie, and previous vaccine strains and field isolates collected on properties where vaccination with the T or Dixie strains had failed to provide complete protection against tick-borne challenge. A major difference was an immunodominant 40 kDa antigen (T40) present in only the T and Dixie strains. The molecular weight and immunodominant nature of this antigen suggest that it may be the equivalent of the major merozoite surface antigen (MSA-1) described by others in North American strains of B. bovis. MSA-1 was shown to be conserved in north American isolates but not in an isolate from Israel or in the Australian S and L isolates. The work presented here suggests that merozoite surface antigen diversity exists among geographically different isolates of B. bovis within Australia.

Monospecific antiserum to T40 was used to develop an indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA) test specific for T and Dixie strain parasites, and a blocking enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) specific for antibody to the T and Dixie strains. In cases of babesiosis in recently vaccinated cattle, the IFA test will be a useful tool for determining whether clinical symptoms are due to a severe vaccine reaction or to a concurrent tick-borne infection. In a preliminary assessment of potential of the ELISA for the serological identification of vaccinated cattle using a total of 160 sera, the test clearly differentiated between animals vaccinated with the T or Dixie strains and non-vaccinated animals, and was not affected by presence of antibodies to other B. bovis strains.  相似文献

Sixty-one Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis isolates from cattle and deer from the Buenos Aires province, an important livestock region in Argentina, were typed by restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLP) analysis based on IS900. Four different RFLP patterns (designated ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘E’) were identified in BstEII digests of genomic DNA. The most frequently observed type, pattern ‘A’, was found in 46 isolates (75%). The second, pattern ‘E’, included 8 isolates (13%), while the third, pattern ‘B’, included 6 isolates (10%). Pattern ‘C’ was found for only one isolate. All of the deer isolates were classified as pattern ‘A’, while cattle isolates represented all four RFLP patterns. Twenty-one isolates representing the four different BstEII-RFLP patterns were digested with PstI. Twenty isolates showed identical PstI-RFLP pattern. BstEII-RFLP patterns from Argentine cattle and deer were compared with patterns found in cattle, goat, deer, rabbit, and human isolates from Europe. The most common pattern in Argentina, pattern ‘A’, was identical to a less frequently occurring pattern R9 (C17) from Europe. The other Argentine patterns ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘E’, were not found in the Europe. These results indicate that the distribution of M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis genotypes in the Buenos Aires province of Argentina is different from that found in Europe.  相似文献

The in vitro susceptibilities of six commonly used antimicrobial agents against 29 isolates of intestinal spirochetes isolated from dogs in Japan were examined by the agar dilution technique. In addition, the genetic basis of tylosin resistance in in vitro selected resistant mutants of two reference strains and three tylosin-susceptible field isolates obtained by three successive subcultures on blood agar containing 1 microg/ml of tylosin was investigated. Carbadox was the most active (MIC: < 0.00625) of all the antimicrobial agents. Although all the isolates were susceptible to tylosin, some were resistant to erythromycin. Tiamulin, lincomycin and dimetridazole were also very active against the isolates. All the resistant isolates did not harbor any plasmids. In vitro selected tylosin-resistant mutants of previously tylosin-susceptible isolates showed a new mutation in which their adenine at the base position equivalent to 2062 of 23S rDNA of Escherichia coli has been replaced by cytosine. These findings may both provide guidance towards the proper choice of antimicrobial agents for the treatment of canine intestinal spirochetosis, and add to the understanding of the genetic basis of tylosin resistance.  相似文献

A molecular analysis of strains of Mycoplasma capricolum subsp. capripneumoniae (M. capripneumoniae) and Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides, small colony type (M. mycoides SC) isolated from goats was performed using the amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) fingerprinting techniques. Among the 11 field strains of M. capripneumoniae from Tanzanian goats, two AFLP patterns were demonstrated, with 10 of the strains showing indistinguishable patterns. Five Kenyan strains of M. capripneumoniae produced three AFLP patterns, with two of them being indistinguishable from the 10 identical Tanzanian and one Ugandan strain (M74/93) isolated from sheep. The AFLP pattern of the type strain (F38(T)) was identical to two Kenyan strains (Baringo and G183/82). On PFGE analysis, all the examined M. capripneumoniae strains exhibited identical PFGE profiles.Five field strains of M. mycoides SC isolated from goats displayed identical AFLP patterns except for one strain which differed from others at only one position. The AFLP pattern of the type strain of M. mycoides SC (PG1(T)) was different from the field strains. The five field strains of M. mycoides SC produced identical PFGE profiles, which were, however, different from the type strain. The AFLP and PFGE profiles of M. mycoides SC strains from goats were identical to those of six strains isolated from cattle affected with contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) in the same areas. The results of this study suggest a close epidemiological linkage between strains of M. capripneumoniae and between M. mycoides SC type, respectively, isolated from goats in Tanzania.  相似文献

This is the first report of molecular characterization of US erysipelas field isolates and vaccine strains of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Erysipelas in pigs is mainly caused by E. rhusiopathiae serotypes 1a, 1b, and 2. In 2001, erysipelas reemerged as a clinical problem in pigs in the midwestern United States. In this work 90 erysipelas isolates (58 recent and 28 archived field isolates as well as 4 live-vaccine strains) were genetically characterized. Because of the limited availability of antiserum, 74/90 isolates (44/58 recent isolates) were serotyped. The serotype of the majority (79.6%) of the 44 recent isolates tested was determined to be 1a, 13.6% were serotype 1b, and 6.8% of recent isolates were serologically untypeable. Among all 90 isolates, 23 different PFGE patterns were identified. There were 43 isolates identified as serotype 1a with 4 genetic patterns: 38/43, 1A(I); 3/43, 1A(III); 1/43, 1B(V); and 1/43, 3B. Sixteen serotype 1b isolates had 11 unique genetic patterns: 4/16 were genotype 1B(III), 2/16 were genotype 3A(I), and 1/16 was in genotype groups 1A(V), 1A(VI), 1A(VII), 1B(I), 1B(IV), 1B(VII), 2, 4, and 5. Six genetic patterns were distinguished among the 10 serotype 2 isolates: 1A(IV) (1/10), 1A(V) (1/10), 1B(VI) (1/10), 2 (4/10), 7 (1/10), and 8 (2/8). Erysipelas vaccine strains (modified live) were similar to each other but different from current field strains, sharing 78.6% identity with the most prevalent genotype 1A(I) based on the PFGE-SmaI pattern. Compared with serotyping, PFGE genotyping is a more distinguishing technique, easy to perform and not dependent on the limited availability of antiserum.  相似文献

Cryptosporidium DNA was extracted from 134 faecal specimens from pre-weaned calves from different German Federal States (age range, 3–15 days old), which tested positive for oocysts by microscopic analysis. The 18S rDNA gene and the oocyst wall protein gene (COWP) were used as targets for PCR and RFLP techniques. Cryptosporidium species were identified by using SspI, MboII and RsaI endonucleases for the digestion of 18S rDNA and COWP amplified fragments, respectively. In all samples, restriction patterns corresponding to Cryptosporidium parvum were identified, which is in agreement with abundant literature data indicating C. parvum as the most common species in pre-weaned calves. In order to estimate the genetic heterogeneity among C. parvum calf isolates, 53 samples chosen to represent different German Federal States were successfully subtyped by sequence analysis of the highly polymorphic 60-kDa glycoprotein gene. All isolates belonged to the allele IIa (with seven subtypes), with the exception of one isolate that belonged to the allele IId. Moreover, three novel subtypes of the allele family IIa have been found. This study confirms the utility of genotyping and subtyping tools in characterizing the transmission of Cryptosporidium spp. This is the first molecular epidemiological report about subtyping of Cryptosporidium bovine isolates in Germany.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to improve our knowledge concerning the epidemiology and strain diversity of Staphylococcus epidermidis isolated from bovine milk in commercial dairy herds. A total of 341 S. epidermidis isolates obtained from cows' milk (317), farmers (17) and patients (7) were characterized. Of these 105 isolates were from cows' milk in two farms, where also 17 isolates were sampled from farmers. The remaining 212 isolates from cows' milk were from 170 farms. All isolates were examined by antimicrobial susceptibility, whereas 202 were examined by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) and 122 by ribotyping. PFGE showed single patterns in the human strains with one exception; one strain was categorised as the same clone as four of the milk strains. PFGE divided 73 of the milk strains into 62 different patterns. The PFGE method had high discriminatory power and shows that many different S. epidermidis types exist in milk samples. Antibiotic resistance patterns matched the SmaI profiles closely in the two herds, but poorly in the routinely collected milk samples. Isolates from herd 1 showed one to five patterns, depending on the typing method used. Isolates from the milker's skin showed one pattern, which was identical to the most common pattern found in the milk isolates. Isolates from herd 2 showed three to four patterns, two of these being identical to skin isolates from the milker. As dairy cows are not a natural host for S. epidermidis the results suggest a human source of these udder infections.  相似文献

The susceptibilities of 40 recent Belgian field isolates of Mycoplasma bovis to 10 antimicrobial agents were assessed. Tiamulin was the most active antimicrobial agent against M bovis, with an initial inhibitory concentration (IIC50) of 0.06 microg/ml, but it is not licensed for the treatment of cattle. All three fluoroquinolones tested (danofloxacin, enrofloxacin and marbofloxacin) were effective against strains of M bovis, and had a minimum mycoplasmacidal concentration (MMC50) less than or equal to 1 microg/ml. Gentamicin was poorly effective, having an IIC50 of 8 microg/ml. Many strains of M bovis were resistant to tylosin, spectinomycin, lincomycin, tetracycline and oxytetracycline.  相似文献

Restriction endonuclease analysis (REA) with three enzymes SmaI, PstI, BamHI- was used to identify 13 different genomic groups among 37 Mycoplasma bovis strains. One genomic group was comprised of 14 strains. Sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) patterns for one strain chosen from each genomic group and an international reference strain PG45 were all similar. Antigenic variability in M. bovis species was investigated by immunoblotting, using serum from a calf that had been naturally infected with M. bovis and three M. bovis-specific monoclonal antibodies — mAbs N2, I2 and 5D7. Twenty M. Bovis field strains were tested, comprising one from each genomic group, six from the same genomic group and the reference strain. Antigenic profiles obtained with calf serum differed markedly one from the other, the heterogeneity being equally great among the strains belonging to the same genomic group as those coming from different groups. A stable antigen common to 164 out of 168 strains was detected by mAb N2, whilst with mAbs I2 and 5D7, two different membrane antigenic systems were demonstrated that were strikingly variable. These variations in expression occurred not only from one strain to another, but also within the same lineage of clones from a single cell.  相似文献

Sodium-dodecyl-sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) was used to study the protein variability of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae isolates. Fifty-six M. hyopneumoniae isolates from 6 different countries and 37 different herds were used. From eight herds, more than one isolate was available. All SDS-PAGE patterns of isolates originating from different herds were clearly divergent. Intra-species protein variability was quantified using the reference strain J and seven field strains all obtained from different herds and classified according to virulence. Between the field strains, a variability of 25% was found, while the culture-adapted strain J was clearly divergent and showed 30% variability with the field strains. No clustering according to virulence was obtained, but a protein band of about 181 kDa was present in the two highly virulent isolates whereas this protein band was absent in the moderately and low virulent isolates. Protein patterns of isolates derived from different animals from the same herd, were identical or differed in only a few protein bands. This study clearly indicates that, in agreement with previous studies on genomic diversity of M. hyopneumoniae isolates, proteomic variability within the species is high. Our study did not find clear evidence that more than one M. hyopneumoniae isolate circulates within a herd at a specific time point. The minor differences found between M. hyopneumoniae isolates from the same herd might reflect the organism's ability to alter its proteomic expression profile under field conditions.  相似文献
