In an attempt to unravel the complexity of chrysanthemum virus B eight isolates were grafted onto the chrysanthemum indicator cultivars Fanfare, Good News, Mistletoe, and Pink Marble. Six symptomatologically different entities could be distinguished. However, withantisera prepared against two of the isolates, no serological differences were detected. It is concluded that chrysanthemum virus B consists of many strains and that the number of strains that can be distinguished depends on the number of indicator cultivars used. The Good News, Yellow Doty, Nightingale, Improved Bronze Daisy and September Morn, mosaic viruses described by Brierley and Smith (1958) as well as the vein mottle, dwarf mottle and necrotic mottle viruses named by Hollings and Stone (1967) should be considered as strains of chrysanthemum virus B.Samenvatting In een poging de complexiteit van het chrysantevirus B te ontrafelen werden acht isolaten geënt op de chrysante-indicatorrassen Fanfare, Good News, Mistletoe en Pink Marble. In Kenya around Lake Victoria rice is affected by a hitherto undescribed virus for which the name Rice Yellow Mottle Virus (RYMV) is proposed. The virus was easily transmitted mechanically to rice and toOryza barthii andOryza punctata, but not toOryza eichingeri, barley, bulrush millet, durum wheat, finger millet, maize, oats, rye, sorghum, wheat, sugarcane, 20 other monocotyledonous and 9 dicotyledonous plant species.The disease is characterised by stunting and reduced tillering of the rice plant, crinkling, mottling and yellowish streaking of the leaves, malformation and partial emergence of the panicles, and sterility. In severe cases the plant may die. RYMV is stable and highly infective.The vector is the beetleSesselia pusilla Gerstaeker (fam. Chrysomelidae, Galerucinae). The beetle has been identified by Mr John A. Wilcox, New York State Museum and Science Service, New York.S. pusilla transmitted the virus for at least five successive days after feeding on an infective plant.Purified virus preparations consisted of polyhedral particles about 32 m in diameter. The sedimentation coefficient was 116S.Samenvatting In Kenya wordt rijst, voornamelijk Sindano, verbouwd op familiebedrijfjes aan de kust van de Indische Oceaan en langs het Victoria Meer, en door pachters van het meer naar het binnenland gelegen Mwea Irrigation Settlement. In de omgeving van Kisumu (Nyanza Province), waar rijst geteeld wordt volgens slechte cultuurmethoden, wordt sinds 1966 een tot dusver onbekende ziekte, hier rice yellow mottle genoemd, waargenomen.In het veld vallen de zieke planten onmiddellijk op door de gelige verkleuring van de bladeren. De jongste bladeren zijn gevlekt of geel-groen gestreept (Fig. 1). De uitstoeling is gering en de plant gedrongen (Fig. 2). De zaadopbrengst wordt sterk verlaagd door het optreden van steriliteit.Ongeveer 7 dagen na sap-inoculatie van Sindano-zaailingen verschijnen de eerste symptomen. Na inoculatie in een jong stadium van de plant krullen de eerstgevormde bladeren spiraalvormig (Fig. 3). Later worden de bladeren geel en necrotisch. Jong geïnfecteerde planten kunnen zelfs afsterven. De pluimen komen onvoldoende uit de bladschede, zijn misvormd en dragen veelal kleine en misvormde bloembakjes, die meestal loos zijn (Fig. 4). Sindano rijst, 3 weken voor het in pluim schieten geïnoculeerd, liet een zeer sterke opbrengstvermindering zien.In sap, verkregen van wortels van zieke rijstplanten, in de guttatievloeistof en in irrigatiewater van ernstig zieke rijstvelden kon het virus gemakkelijk worden aangetoond. Overdracht van RYMV door zaad en grond werd niet waargenomen.RYMV was nog infectieus na een verhitting gedurende 10 min bij 80°C. De verdunningsgrens hing af van het tijdstip waarop het bladmateriaal van de zieke planten getoetst werd en liep uiteen van 10–10 (2–3 weken na inoculatie) tot 10–6 (4–5 weken na inoculatie). Sap bewaard bij kamertemperatuur was nog infectieus na 33 dagen, maar had deze eigenschap verloren na 51 dagen. Bewaard in een koelkast bleef het sap zeker 71 dagen infectieus.A1 de getoetste rijstrassen werden na sap-inoculatie door het virus geïnfecteerd, evenalsOryza barthii enOryza punctata (Fig. 5). Niet vatbaar waren:Oryza eichingeri, baardtarwe, eleusine gierst, gerst (Proctor), haver (M.F.C. 15/67 en Lampton), mais (Hybrid 611B, Hybrid 612 en Hybrid 613B), parelgierst, rogge, sorghum (H726 en H6060), suikerriet (NCo 310 en Q 45), tarwe (Kenya Kudu en Wisconsin), evenals 20 andere monocotyle en 9 dicotyle plantesoorten, waaronder de doorgaans bij plantevirusonderzoek gebruikte toetsplanten.Het kevertjeSesselia pusilla Gerstaecker (fam. Chrysomelidae, Galerucinae; zie Fig. 6) bracht het virus over. Een enkel insekt was in staat het virus gedurende tenminste 5 dagen over te brengen.RYMV was gemakkelijk te zuiveren. Hierbij werd uitgegaan van 16,5–20 g jonge duidelijk zieke bladschijven van jonge 2–3 weken tevoren geïnoculeerde rijstplanten (Sindano) door uitschudden met chloroform en uitzouten met ammoniumsulfaat, iets gewijzigd naar Proll en Schmidt (1964). De elektronenmicroscopische beelden van de gezuiverde virussuspensie laten één type veelkantige deeltjes zien met een diameter van ongeveer 32 m (Fig. 7). De S20-waarde is 116S (Fig. 8 en 9).Ter bestrijding van de ziekte moet op korte termijn allereerst de cultuurmethode van de rijst op de familiebedrijfjes verbeterd worden. Het gehele jaar in verschillende groeistadia voorkomen van rijst op een klein gebied en veelal zieke opslag op juist geoogste velden, dragen belangrijk bij tot de verspreiding van de ziekte. A new disease of rice, known as entorchamiento (crinkling), was first noticed in the Department of Meta, Colombia, in 1991. Symptoms include seedling death, foliar striping and severe plant malformation. Tissue extracts and purified preparations from diseased rice plants, contained virus-like particles ca. 20nm in diameter, with a bimodal length of 260 and 360nm. Particle aggregates were also observed in the cytoplasm of infected rice leaf cells. Electrophoretic analyses of purified preparations and dsRNA extracts, revealed a single protein species of M 22,500, and four dsRNA bands ca. 6300, 4600, 2700 and 1800bp in size. Cystosori, characteristic of plasmodiophorid fungal vectors of plant viruses, were consistently observed in the roots of diseased rice plants. PCR and sequence analyses of amplified fungal DNA products from infected rice roots, revealed that the putative fungus vector was Polymyxa graminis. A Western blot of tissue extracts obtained from crinkled rice plants from Colombia, using antiserum against a West African isolate of rice stripe necrosis furovirus (RSNV), resulted in the detection of a protein band of approximately M 22,000. The RSNV antiserum recognized the Colombian virus isolate in serologically specific electron microscopy tests. These results confirm the presence of RSNV in the Americas.  相似文献

Culm base samples were collected in August 1984, from winter wheat fields in Groningen, Flevoland and near Wageningen in Gelderland. In contrast to fields in the latter two areas, fields in Groningen were characterized by intensive wheat cultivation and yearly applications of benzimidazole fungicides for eyespot control. Seventy-seven isolates ofPseudocercosporella herpotrichoides were recovered. Forty-three percent of recovered isolates were carbendazim-resistant, all of which originated from fields in Groningen. Resistant isolates were detected among both rye- and wheat-types of the pathogen. Rye-type isolates were identified asP. herpotrichoides var.acuformis and those of the wheat-type asP. herpotrichoides var.herpotrichoides.Samenvatting Monsters van de halmbasis van tarwestro werden in augustus 1984 verzameld van percelen met wintertarwe in Groningen, Flevoland en bij Wageningen in Gelderland. In tegenstelling tot de percelen in de twee laatstgenoemde gebieden, waren de percelen in Groningen gekenmerkt door intensieve tarweteelt en door jaarlijkse bespuitingen met benzimidazool fungiciden tegen de oogvlekkenziekte. In totaal werden 77 isolaten vanPseudocercosporella herpotrichoides verkregen. Drieënveertig procent van de isolaten was resistant tegen carbendazim en alle resistente isolaten waren afkomstig van percelen in Groningen. Resistente isolaten werden zowel bij het rogge- als bij het tarwetype van het pathogeen aangetroffen. Fusarium wilt-resistant Novada and wilt-susceptible Early Sam carnations were planted in soil infested withFusarium oxysporum f.sp.dianthi, and their roots studied after five and ten weeks. Both in Novada and Early Sam, the extravascular tissue of undamaged young root parts were scarsely colonized. In roots of Novada, infected xylem vessels were usually occluded with gums and surrounded by phellem tissue. In mature parts of roots, the phellem surrounding occluded vessels often merged with the external phellem surrounding the vascular cylinder, after which the occluded vessels were shed from the roots. The phellem at the root surface appeared to be a strong barrier to fungal invasion. In roots of Early Sam carnations, as well as in a few roots of Novada carnations, the defence responses did not result in compartmentation of the fungus, and colonization and degradation of the vascular tissues followed. Diseased roots finally healthy. Shoots of Early Sam carnations, and eventually a few shoots of Novada carnations, were colonized and developed wilt symptoms.Samenvatting Resistente Novada en vatbare Early Sam anjers werden geplant in grond besmet metFusarium oxysporum f.sp.dianthi. Na vijf en tien weken werden de wortels van de planten bestudeerd. De extravasculaire delen van onbeschadigde jonge wortelgedeelten waren in beide cultivars nauwelijks gekoloniseerd. In de wortels van Novada waren geïnfecteerde houtvaten meestal verstopt door gommen en omgeven door kurkweefsel. In oudere wortelgedeelten sloot het kurkweefsel rond verstopte vaten vaak aan op het kurkweefsel aan de buitenkant van het vaatweefsel, waarna de aangetaste vaten werden uitgestoten uit de wortel. Het kurkweefsel aan het worteloppervlak leek een belangrijke barrière te vormen tegen het binnendringen van de schimmel. In de wortels van Early Sam en in enkele wortels van Novada mislukte het afweerproces, en werd het vaatweefsel door de schimmel gekoloniseerd en vervolgens afgebroken. Aangetaste wortels werden na afloop van tijd hol. De bovengrondse delen van de meeste Novada anjers werden niet gekoloniseerd en bleven gezond. De bovengrondse delen van de Early Sam anjers, en op den duur die van enkele Novada anjers, werden gekoloniseerd en verwelkten.  相似文献

Two viruses, detected frequently in the Netherlands in pelargonium, were identified by serology and test plant reactions. Antisera were prepared and an ELISA procedure was developed to detect the viruses in pelargonium.One of the viruses, PFBV-N, proved to be pelargonium flower-break virus. With the antiserum to PFBV-N, it could be detected reliably throughout the year inPelargonium zonale Springtime Irene.The other virus, PLPV-N, was serologically closely related to pelargonium line pattern virus (PLPV) and to pelargonium ring pattern virus (PRPV), as were an old virus isolate from Saturnus, collected in the Netherlands in 1971 (L128), and PLPV isolates from Yugoslavia (PLPV-Y) and Denmark (PLPV-D). There were only minor differences in host-plant reactions between the virus isolates. Based on these tests, PLPV and PRPV are considered as isolates of the same virus, for which, for practical reasons, the name pelargonium line pattern virus is proposed.PLPV could be reliably detected by ELISA inP. zonale Springtime Irene and Amanda throughout the year with only a few exceptions. InPelargonium peltatum Tavira, however, reslts were erratic due to uneven distribution of virus in the plant. Best results were obtained when petioles of fully expanded leaves were tested.  相似文献

Cassava mosaic virus disease (CMD) is prevalent and causes serious losses in cassava (Manihot esculenta) in southern India and in many parts of sub-Saharan Africa. The disease is caused by viruses of the Geminiviridae that are transmitted by the whitefly Bemisia tabaci and disseminated in the stem cuttings used routinely for propagation. The main approach to control is through the use of virus-resistant varieties, but suitable ones are not always available and susceptible varieties are still widely grown. This explains why CMD continues to be a problem in many areas.CMD-resistant varieties have several features which are considered in this review:- They are not readily infected, even when exposed to large amounts of vector-borne inoculum. When infected they develop symptoms that tend to be inconspicuous and not associated with obvious deleterious effects on growth or yield. Moreover, the symptoms become even less conspicuous as growth proceeds and plants may eventually recover and become symptomless. Infected plants support a low virus content and they are likely to be a poor source of inoculum from which further spread can occur. Virus is not fully systemic within infected plants which can be a source of uninfected planting material when stem cuttings are collected for further propagation. This phenomenon is referred to as reversion and it has an important cleansing effect in restricting or preventing the progressive deterioration in health status that would otherwise occur during successive cycles of vegetative propagation.The available information on the different components of resistance is discussed and it is concluded that they are inter-related features of the same basic mechanism that restricts virus entry, replication and movement within the host. It is argued that the effectiveness and durability of virus-resistant varieties are likely to be influenced by the way in which they are deployed. However, this topic has received little attention from researchers and there is continuing uncertainty on the effects of CMD on the yield of resistant varieties and on the role of phytosanitation. This involves the use of virus-free planting material and the removal (roguing) of any additional diseased plants that occur. Some consider that these procedures complement the use of virus-resistant varieties and should be adopted, whereas others argue that they are unnecessary and inappropriate. It is concluded that there is considerable scope for utilizing resistant varieties more widely and more effectively than at present, but in doing so it is important to avoid eroding the genetic diversity that is currently such a marked feature of cassava cultivation in Africa.  相似文献

The symptoms of bud necrosis in tulip bulbs are described. This disorder is neither contagious nor hereditary. It is found more often and more severely in certain cultivars (viz Red Champion and White Sail) than in others (viz Rose Copland) in which it appears less frequently or not at all. The disease originates in the stamens of the flower-producing main bud during dry storage between lifting and planting of the bulbs. The occurrence of the disease in sensitive cultivars is promoted by storage of the bulbs under conditions of poor ventilation (viz packed in cardboard boxes) and at higher temperatures later in the storage period (after September 1).The experimental results suggest that there are several pathogenic factors and that the combined action of these factors can lead to bud necrosis; the primary factor is probably of physiological nature.Samenvatting Kernrot is een afwijking in tulpebollen die een bloeibare maat hebben. De ziekte ontstaat tijdens de droge bewaring van de bollen en begint met afwijkingen aan de meeldraden. Bij de beschrijving is onderscheid gemaakt tussen symptomen welke zich tijdens de droge bewaring voordoen aan de knoppen waaruit zich de bloeiende spruit zal ontwikkelen en symptomen welke zich voordoen aan de bollen tijdens de bloei te velde. Naar de mate waarin de knoppen en planten afwijken, wordt gesproken van meeldraadnecrose (Fig. 1A en 2), bloemnecrose (Fig. 1B en 4A), spruitnecrose (Fig. 1C en 4B), kernnecrose (Fig. 1D en 4C) en bolnecrose (Fig. 4D).Het is gebleken, dat de ziekte bij bepaalde cultivars (Red Champion en White Sail) vaak voorkomt, bij andere minder vaak (Rose Copland) of in het geheel niet. Er kon worden vastgesteld, dat de ziekte niet besmettelijk of erfelijk is.In de proeven werd het ontstaan van de afwijking bij Red Champion en White Sail bevorderd door de bollen te verpakken in kartonnen dozen (ventilatiebeperking) en door de bollen later in het seizoen (na 1 september) te bewaren bij hogere temperaturen dan daarvoor. Op grond van de proefresultaten wordt aangenomen dat de primaire oorzaak van de afwijking van fysiologische aard is. De aanwezigheid van schimmels, bacteriën en mijten moet als tweede oorzaak worden beschouwd.  相似文献

Over a period of 12 months new and old cysts ofGlobodera pallida were hatched in potato root diffusate according to a novel nematode-response hatching protocol. In this protocol, cysts were set to hatch at the beginning of autumn and then left to indicate when their hatching ability was exhausted (when less than 100 juveniles/replicate/week emerged) before another batch of cysts was set to hatch. At any time of the year for the 12 months this experiment was conducted there were cysts hatching. After 12 months of hatching, eight hatching curves were obtained. Based on the hatching curves of the new and old cysts, diapause was shown to be present in new cysts in autumn, winter and early spring. However, diapause was absent in late spring and summer.Infectivity assays to distinguish between juveniles obtained in the periods when cysts were in diapause and when cysts had overcome their diapause failed to show any significant difference in their infectivity. There was no significant difference in the number of eggs in new and old cysts. Based on this observation, it was suggested that high emergence in old cysts may not be a result of few eggs in the cyst but rather due to absence of diapause. Also the presence of large numbers of eggs in old cysts even after being stored for 12 months outdoors in the soil does not support the theories of spontaneous hatching, micro-organism induced hatching or persistence of hatching factors in the soil.  相似文献

In the Netherlands in 1961 three new field races were found ofPuccinia striiformis, the causal fungus of yellow rust on wheat. Two of these, viz. the Falco race and the Opal race, together with the already known Etoile de Choisy race, constitute the so-called Nord-group of races, which is now clearly distinguished from the so-called Rubis-group. Most dangerous and interesting is the third of the new races. This so-called Cleo race proved to be the first to break both resistance to the Nord-group and resistance to the Rubis-group. On wheat seedlings in the greenhouse all three new races behaved like green-house race W(ageningen) 8=B(raunschweig) 55.Samenvatting Er zijn van de schimmelPuccinia striiformis Westend., de veroorzaker van de gele roest van tarwe, in Nederland in 1961 drie nieuwe veldfysio's gevonden. Dit zijn het Falco-fysio, het Opal-fysio en het Cleo-fysio. De eerste twee bleken met het reeds bekende Etoile de Choisy-fysio een groep te vormen, de z.g. Nord-groep, die zich duidelijk onderscheidt van de reeds beter bekende Rubis-groep van fysio's. Eerstgenoemde groep kenmerkt zich o.a. door de aantasting van het tarweras Nord, de laatstgenoemde door de aantasting van Rubis (zie tabel 1). Het belangrijkst en het gevaarlijkst is het Cleo-fysio. Dit bleek voor zover bekend het eerste en enige fysio te zijn dat zowel de resistentie tegen de Rubis-groep als die tegen de Nord-groep doorbreekt. Het heeft zodoende een zeer breed aantastingsspectrum. Van de tarwerassen die voorkomen in de 39ste Nederlandse Rassenlijst voor Landbouwgewassen (1964) zijn de volgende negen rassen vatbaar voor het Cleo-fysio met een aantastingsgraad van 6 tot 9 (Internationale Schaal): Cleo, Cappelle Desprez, Heine's VII, Hector, Stella, Sambo, Mado, Wodan en Jufy I. Bovendien bleek het Cleo-fysio in vergelijking met de andere veldfysio's goed te overwinteren en in 1964 reeds op vele plaatsen in Nederland aanwezig te zijn. Het Cleo-fysio maakt het des te noodzakelijker bij de selectie op resistentie tegen gele roest te werken op een brede genetische basis. Bij toetsing op tarwekiemplanten in de kas gedroegen de drie nieuwe fysio's zich alle als het kasfysio W(ageningen) 8 =B(raunschweig) 55 (zie tabel 2).  相似文献

The fluorine compound in fluoridated drinking water caused injury to the leaf tips as well as to the leaves and bracts of flower stalks of gladiolus, when cut leaves or cut flowers were placed with their bases in the water.In all cases the fluorine content of 4 cm long leaf tips was much higher when fluoridated water was used in place of non-fluoridated water.Samenvatting Aanzienlijk meer bladtopbeschadiging werd geconstateerd bij het voor HF zeer gevoelige gladioleras Sneeuwprinses wanneer bladstukken met de basis in gefluorideerd leidingwater zijn geplaatst dan wanneer deze in niet gefluorideerd leidingwater staan. After inoculation of elms withCeratocystis ulmi tylose formation in vessels of the susceptible clone Belgica appeared to be delayed in comparison with tylose formation in the resistant clone 390. Aim was to clarify the rust fungusPuccinia canaliculata for release in a new environment where it may be utilized as a microbial herbicide. A strain of the rust was introduced from the USA into the Netherlands and kept in quarantaine. The susceptibility ofCyperus esculentus and several other species of the Cyperaceae was tested. C. esculentus leptostachyus from five locations was susceptible toP. canaliculata. C. esculentus of a yet unidentified biotype from two locations was moderately susceptible (fewer and smaller pustules than on leptostachyus), whereas plants of the same biotype from a third location were resistant to the rust.C. esculentus esculentus (from one location) andC. esculentus sativus (a crop) were also resistant to the rust. C. albostriatus, C. alternifolius, C. flavescens, C. rotundus, Carex hirta, Eleocharis palustris, andScirpus maritimus were resistant toP. canaliculata. OnCyperus fuscus, P. canaliculata produced very small urediniosori (less then 1 mm in diameter); the sori were surrounded by a zone of necrotic plant tissue.From the observations onC. fuscus we concluded that the (potential) host range ofP. canaliculata is wider than we originally expected. Various types of rose rootstocks were tested for their resistance to crown gall. The rootstock Iowa State University (ISU) 60–5 was the most resistant, followed by Brooks 48, Clarke 1957 and Welch. Rosa multiflora, R. noisettiana (Manetti) and Basye No. 3 were very susceptible. The inoculations were made with four isolates ofAgrobacterium tumefaciens (Smith et Townsend) Conn, respectively from aDahlia sp.,Rosa spp. andPrunus persica. Plants of the carnation cultivar Joker, infected with carnation mottle and etched ring viruses, were subjected to a heat treatment at 38°C for 132 days. At intervals lateral shoots were taken and rooted. In some of these shoots carnation mottle virus could no longer be detected, even after repeated indexing onChenopodium amaranticolor. Extension of the duration of the heat treatment resulted in an increase in the percentage of mottle-free plants, but the absolute number decreased owing to deterioration of the plants due to the prolonged heat treatment. A heat treatment of 132 days did not inactivate carnation etched ring virus in the plants.Samenvatting Planten van de anjercultivar Joker, die besmet waren met het carnation mottle —en carnation etched ring — virus, werden gedurende 132 dagen bij een temperatuur van 38°C gehouden. Met tussenpozen werden er scheutjes van de planten afgehaald en beworteld. In een aantal van deze scheutjes bleek het carnation mottle-virus, zelfs na vijfmalige toetsing opChenopodium amaranticolor, niet meer aantoonbaar. Verlenging van de warmtebehandeling gaf een toename van het percentage genezen planten, hoewel het absolute aantal afnam als gevolg van beschadiging door de warm-tebehandeling. Small differences in activity between batches of purified beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV) were observed in ELISA. A four-parameter modelled dose-response curve of purified BNYVV was used for the conversion of ELISA values to virus concentrations. Seedlings of the susceptible cultivar Regina and the partially resistant cultivars Nymphe and Rima were tested for resistance to BNYVV in a mixture of sand and infested soil. Plants were grown in a green-house with low nutrient supply and at temperatures below the optimum of both the vectorPolymyxa betae and BNYVV. Root systems were small and consisted mainly of lateral roots. Significant differences in average virus concentrations were found between cultivars, both when using the complete root systems and when using either the top or the bottom part of the root systems. Average virus concentrations in Regina were always significantly higher than in Rima and higher than in Nymphe on all occasions except one (P<0.05). Differences between Nymphe and Rima were less evident. Variation between plants was greatest within Rima. The test described in this paper can be used for the discrimination of different cultivars and for the identification of individual plants with resistance to BNYVV.  相似文献

The present paper deals with laboratory studies on side-effects of the mixed biocide GCSC-BtA on Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lep., Plutellidae) and its predators, e.g. Amblyseius longispinosus (Evans) (Acari, Phytoseiidae), Erigonidium graminicola (Sundvall) (Araneae, Linyphiidae), Orius similis Zheng (Het., Anthocoridae) and Coccinella septempunctata L.(Col., Coccinellidae), in comparison to the commercial insecticides, e.g. Abamectin, Tebufenozide, Dichlorvos, Cartap and Lambda-cyhalothrin.The results showed that GCSC-BtA was highly toxic to the 3rd instar of P. xylostella with 91.18% mortality, followed by Cartap with 84.38%, Abamectin with 78.00%, Tebufenozide with 75.57%, Lambda-cyhalothrin with 63.75% and Dichlorvos with 50.86% mortality. On the other hand, GCSC-BtA was found to be comparatively less toxic to the predators, causing 31.11%, 13.33%, 11.54% and 6.00% mortalities in A. longispinosus, E. graminicola, O. similis and C. septempunctata, respectively. For comparison, the mortalities recorded for Abamectin, Tebufenozide, Dichlorvos, Cartap, Lambda-cyhalothrin were 72.94%, 55.55%, 70.00%, 53.26% and 98.85% in A. longispinosus, 46.51%, 55.10%, 60.00%, 46.00% and 73.68% in E. graminicola, 22.00%, 16.00%, 35.71%, 26.78% and 81.03% in O. similis, 15.55%, 19.64%, 28.00%, 16.66% and 41.79% in C. septempunctata, respectively.Cluster analysis was introduced to group the mortalities caused by the treatments into three toxicity groups with the distance of D=4.1. The 1st group consisted of GCSC-BtA characterized with low toxicity to all the predators tested with 15.49% mortality on average (highest 31.11% and lowest 6.00%). The 2nd group consisted of Abamectin, Tebufenozide, Dichlorvos and Cartap with moderate toxicity to the predators with 39.96% mortality on average. The 3rd group included Lambda-cyhalothrin with high toxicity to the predators with 73.83% mortality on average (highest 98.85% and lowest 41.70%). The susceptibility of the pest and its predators to GCSC-BtA and the insecticides is discussed. GCSC-BtA as a biological control agent is recommended for use in the integrated pests control programs in the vegetable fields.  相似文献

Strains of Sphaerotheca fuliginea, one of the causal agents of powdery mildew of cucurbits, were examined for differences in virulence, mating type and DNA polymorphism. The 28 strains were chosen to be diverse according to host and geographic origin. Characterization of virulence phenotypes was based on the expression of symptoms on 4 species of cucurbits and 6 cultivars of melon. Two pathotypes, capable of attacking either cucumber cv. Marketer and melon cv. IranH and squash cv. Diamant or cucumber cv. Marketer and melon cv. IranH were observed. Tests on melon cultivars revealed 3 races. In tests of sexual compatibility with reference strains, heterothallism was observed for all isolates. Frequency of the two mating types differed significantly in the population. DNA polymorphism was determined both by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) of the ribosomal internal transcribed spacers (ITS) and 5.8S DNA amplified by the polymerase chain reaction and by random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). For any one of the 11 restriction enzymes tested all strains presented an identical pattern of ITS RFLP. RAPD analysis, using 22 primers which provided reproducible patterns, revealed a relatively low degree of polymorphism. Furthermore, cluster analysis based on RAPD data (152 markers) did not separate groups within the species S. fuliginea. No association could be found between virulence, mating type, geographical and host origin and RAPD patterns. The lack of association between phenotypic and molecular markers and the close fit to linkage equilibrium for the characters examined suggest that recombination may play a role in populations of S. fuliginea.  相似文献

Besides the race Amsel-C2, a new race of barley mildew (Erysiphe graminis DC. f.sp.hordei Marchal) has been isolated from a still resistant variety L 94. This race has provisionally been denoted Lyallpur 3645-C17. It is able to overcome the resistance of Lyallpur 3645.It appears most likely that the barley variety Lyallpur 3645 has two closely linked genes for resistance, one for hypersensitivity and the other for an intermediate type of reaction. The first is present in the variety Amsel and both in Heine 4808.The reactions indicate that race Lyallpur 3645-C17 has only one gene for virulence in addition to the ones present in race Amsel-C2.A survey is given of the seedling reaction of some 60 previously very or moderately resistant varieties, after infection with the two new races.Samenvatting Twee fysio's van gerstemeeldauw,Erysiphe graminis DC. f.sp.hordei Marchal zijn gevonden, waarvan één niet eerder is beschreven. Dit laatste fysio wordt voorlopig aangeduid als Lyallpur 3645-C17, het andere is het zgn. Amsel-C2-fysio.Met behulp van beide fysio's is duidelijk geworden dat de lijn Lyallpur-3645 twee nauw gekoppelde resistentiegenen bezit; een gen voor een overgevoeligheidsreactie en een ander gen voor een intermediaire reactie.In het ras Amsel is alleen het overgevoeligheidsgen aanwezig, in Heine 4808, evenals Amsel afkomstig van kruisingen met Lyallpur 3645, zijn beide genen aanwezig.Het fysio Lyallpur-3645-C17 lijkt daarom één gen voor virulentie meer te hebben dan Amsel-C2.Tenslotte is een overzicht gegeven van de kiemplantreactie na infectie met beide fysio's van ongeveer 60 gerstrassen die eerder zeer goed of matig resistent waren.  相似文献
