Electrons emit light, carry electric current, and bind atoms together to form molecules. Insight into and control of their atomic-scale motion are the key to understanding the functioning of biological systems, developing efficient sources of x-ray light, and speeding up electronics. Capturing and steering this electron motion require attosecond resolution and control, respectively (1 attosecond = 10(-18) seconds). A recent revolution in technology has afforded these capabilities: Controlled light waves can steer electrons inside and around atoms, marking the birth of lightwave electronics. Isolated attosecond pulses, well reproduced and fully characterized, demonstrate the power of the new technology. Controlled few-cycle light waves and synchronized attosecond pulses constitute its key tools. We review the current state of lightwave electronics and highlight some future directions.  相似文献

Optical technologies are becoming increasingly important in areas that were traditionally the domain of electronics. This trend is likely to continue into the foreseeable future with optics and electronics being integral, mutually compatible components of systems for consumer markets, industry, and defense. The basis of this progress is the development of materials that have the required purity, physical properties, and optical quality; glass fibers for optical transmission, semiconductors for lasers and detectors, and nonlinear materials for optical switching are examples. In this article, some of the materials of choice for a variety of applications are described and the frontiers of materials research for new areas of opportunity are discussed. Particular emphasis is placed on optical materials for the transmission and processing of information.  相似文献

There are two salient points which convey the essence of the impact of integrated electronics in medicine. First, the quality and availability of health care are becoming increasingly dependent on radically new diagnostic, monitoring, and prosthetic instruments provided by electronics. Second, many of these new instruments, such as ultrasonic imaging systems, blood flowmeters, and artificial inner ears, impose very stringent performance requirements, which can be met only through innovative application of integrated electronics. In summary, the initial impact of integrated electronics on health care is now visible, and consequently it is apparent that we are beginning a new era of revolutionary advances in medical instrumentation. Health care may indeed present the most promising opportunity to improve the quality of life in our society through electronics.  相似文献

The article gives an overview of areas where computers and electronics have made a particular impact on the postharvest industry. These include environmental control and storage, quality monitoring, quality management, grading systems, inventory control, and management of product. Specific examples of the application of electronic systems have been given to illustrate the current state of postharvest technology, and some future predictions have been given. It is likely that consumer demand for improved quality, longer storage life, and guaranteed product safety will continue to grow. In a highly competitive market the industry will need to meet these demands, and electronic technology will play an increasingly important role. Improved sensors to assess quality are still needed, and handling and storage systems are likely to become increasingly sophisticated. In the latter half of the twentieth century technology has contributed much to improve the world's food supply, but it has also generated problems for the wider society, which will require attention in the next millennium.  相似文献

Since the introduction of the first commercial integrated circuits nearly 25 years ago, the semiconductor industry has undergone what is now recognized as a revolution in electronics technology. Modern technology is now yielding complex circuits consisting of nearly half a million transistors on a single integrated circuit chip with a price of a few hundred dollars. Integrated circuit technology has provided increasingly capable functions at ever decreasing prices, thus resulting in ever widening areas of application. Digital system design has become a very challenging and stimulating endeavor. This paper provides insight into the nature of digital system design and integrated circuit technology. As molecular recognition continues to gain importance in the biological and physical sciences as well as in the technologies of molecular electronics and optics, so has the need for efficient syntheses of chiral molecules. Chemists are fulfilling this need through use of chiral organometallic molecules. These chiral metal complexes precisely discriminate between enantiotopic atoms, groups, or faces in achiral molecules and catalyze production of a broad array of natural or unnatural substances of excellent enantiomeric purity. Because of their ability to efficiently multiply chirality, even on an industrial level, these catalysts promise to exert a general impact on molecular science and engineering.  相似文献

网络信息资源是一种电子信息资源,是一种依托Internet网络传输和利用的电子信息资源。信息在现行的网络环境中,实际上是一个由文件、图片和声音构成的巨大的信息集合,这些信息存储在遍布全球的各种各样的计算机中。在我国的农业产业化发展过程中,由于市场体系建设滞后,特别是市场信息闭塞,造成农产品市场波动大,因此,网络环境下广大的农民应该学会充分利用各种媒体,如被称为是传统的大众传播媒体的电视、报纸、广播及被称为第四媒体的Internet。笔者在对农民对各种媒体的关注情况进行调查分析后,发现他们对农业科技图书的使用几乎处于空白,因此,建议各出版单位还需要进一步加强对“三农“图书特别是农民用书的推荐力度。同时,还重点介绍了包括中国农业大学出版社网站在内的几个农业信息网站,以期对广大农民提供最实在的信息帮助。  相似文献

功率因数校正(PFC)电路作为谐波补偿装置和提高功率因数的有效措施已成为电力电子技术研究的热点问题,且绝大多数PFC采用Boost电路,在中等及以上功率等级时PFC常采用电流连续模式,而功率二极管由于存在反向恢复特性,开关管的开通损耗被大大增加,电磁干扰加重。本文提出了一种新的电容型无源无损缓冲电路,其能够抑制二极管的反向恢复特性,减小开关管的开通损耗,提高PFC的效率。电路结构简单,软开关实现范围大,500W实验样机验证了PFC在半载时效率能提高1.08%。  相似文献

综述福建高新技术产业竞争优势多指标比较研究成果,依据2003—2006年福建高新技术进出口分类的月份统计数据,采用Xll方法进行季节调整。在比较产业竞争优势多种指数分析的基础上,应用EViews4进行时间序列的,回归,运用解释变量显著性和序列相关程度,说明多种指标的适用性,并分析福建高新技术产业竞争优势的影响因素。最后得出福建高新技术产业竞争优势中生物技术、计算机通讯技术较强,电子技术和计算机集成技术较弱的结论,并提出相应对策。  相似文献

Science and technology can make substantial contributions to socio-economic development in Thailand. In order to promote such contributions, problem areas and specific problems of high priority need to be defined, and possible solutions outlined. Important criteria for selecting priority areas and key problems include relevance to development, the availability of human resources and the possibility of their development, the cutting-edge advantage to be gained by development, the possibility of international collaboration, and the possibility of integration with culture and environment. These criteria suggest in Thailand a focus on the development of bioscience and biotechnology, materials science, electronics, and information science.  相似文献

A field-effect transistor has been fabricated from polymer materials by printing techniques. The device characteristics, which show high current output, are insensitive to mechanical treatments such as bending or twisting. Advances in electronics and computers have enabled industries to attain better control of their processes with resulting increases in quality, productivity, profitability, and compliance with government regulations. With a hierarchy of computers, distributed data acquisition, and information processing and control, it is possible to achieve overall optimum performance of a plant. While further advances in microprocessors and large-scale integration will be useful to the process engineer, major improvements in process control await advances in sensor technology and software.  相似文献
