浅谈以就业为导向的高职商务英语教学改革

高职商务英语专业旨在培养具备一定的英语表达能力和专业商务知识的复合型人才。高职院校应该采取顺应市场人才需求的人才培养模式,树立以就业为导向的人才培养目标,在此基础上改革高职商务英语教学。教师在教学中应找到适应学生特点及满足企业人才需要的教学策略,合理制定教学计划,设计教学方案,使高职商务英语教学具备职业倾向性。本文从高职商务英语教学的现状出发,指出高职英语教学进行改革的必要性,以及提出进行以就业为导向的高职商务英语教学改革。     

建立以过程为导向的翻译教学模式

以过程为导向的翻译教学模式注重学生在教师的指导下自主学习,以掌握翻译方法和资源,从而实现翻译知识和技能的内化,提高翻译能力。作为以过程为导向的翻译教学模式之一,网络论坛作为平台的小组讨论在内化学生的翻译知识和技能、提高翻译能力方面发挥着积极的作用。

It is time for the faculty of veterinary colleges to take responsibility for the veterinary curriculum, to move beyond the debate over teaching styles, and to understanding what a curriculum needs to accomplish. Our challenge is to engage students, faculty, and all veterinary professionals in evidence-based medicine and medical outcomes assessment and to identify best practices and continually improve the quality of veterinary health care. The education program of students must lay the foundation for this essential approach to veterinary practice.     

An endodermal cyst: the result of a congenital intestinal malformation

A midline exploratory laparotomy on a 1-year-old, neutered male, West Highland terrier with a history of lethargy, anorexia, and intermittent vomiting revealed a cranial abdominal cyst. The lining of the excised cyst was histologically identical with that of the small intestine and may have represented an uncommon intestinal malformation.     

A short history of veterinary education in Australia: the 120‐year transition from education for a trade to education for a profession

World Veterinary Year in 2011 celebrates the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the first modern veterinary school at Lyon in France. To put veterinary education in Australia in its historical context, the veterinary school at Lyon was established nine years before the British had discovered the east coast of Australia in 1770, and 27 years before a shipment of convicts transported from overcrowded gaols in England had arrived in Sydney in 1788. This paper discusses the development of veterinary education in Australia from that time to the present day.     

Experimental evidence that copper is taken up by the freshwater snail Bulinus tropicus through a process of adsorption

In this investigation the mechanism of copper uptake by freshwater snails was examined. The experiments investigated the following: the uptake of copper by the snail, the release of copper from the snail, the decrease of copper in the exposure medium, and the relationship between copper uptake and snail metabolism. The results of the investigation provide evidence that copper is taken up by a process of adsorption rather than by active absorption.     

Targeted application of anthelmintics to control trichostrongylosis in dairy goats: result from a 2-year survey in farms

The targeted application of anthelmintic treatments represents one of the current available solutions to slow down the development of anthelmintic resistance within worm populations. Within an experimental flock of dairy goats, control of gastrointestinal parasitism by such selective treatments, targeting the most receptive animals within a flock, was previously found to be effective and to have no detrimental consequences on milk production. The objectives of the current study were to verify the validity of this method in farm conditions. Eleven dairy goat farms from three main areas of production in France were surveyed for 2 years. In six farms, the survey was prolonged for a third year. During year 1, systematic treatments were applied during the grazing season whereas in year 2 and or year 3, treatments were given exclusively to the goats in first lactation and to the multiparous ones with the highest potential of milk production. The level of nematode infection was measured four times per year through individual coproscopical examinations and the mean annual production of milk was recorded. No significant changes in egg excretion nor in milk production were noticed in any farm during years 2 or 3 after switching from the systematic to the selective mode of treatments. These results confirmed that targeted application of anthelmintics might represent a way to combine the control of trichostrongyles and the prevention of anthelmintic resistance.
