The essential oil of Lippia multiflora Moldenke (Verbenaceae) produced by conventional hydrodistillation was analyzed and studied for its analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities in rats and mice. At the doses used (2, 4 and 8 ml/kg o.s.) the essential oil of L. multiflora showed significant and dose-dependent analgesic effect on acetic acid-induced writhing in mice. Only the dose of 8 ml/kg of essential oil, antagonized hyperexia induced by brewer's yeast. No effect on granuloma formation was observed. 相似文献

The alcoholic extract of the flowers of Calotropis gigantea was administered orally and explored for its analgesic activity in chemical and thermal models in mice. In acetic acid induced writhing test, an inhibition of 20.97% and 43.0% in the number of writhes was observed at the doses of 250 and 500 mg/kg, respectively. In the hot plate method the paw licking time was delayed. The analgesic effect was observed after 30 min of dose administration which reached its maximum after 90 min. 相似文献

Two new pentacyclic triterpenes named kirmanoic acid (1) and kurramanoic acid (2) have been isolated from the chloroform-soluble portion of the whole plant of Nepeta clarkei Hook. The structures of the two new compounds were assigned on the basis of their 1H and 13C NMR spectra including two-dimensional NMR techniques such as COSY, HMQC, and HMBC experiments. Kirmanoic acid (1) was investigated for analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and CNS depressant activities. Interestingly kirmanoic acid (1) showed strong analgesic activity than standard drug in acetic induced writhing and formalin tests. Similarly kirmanoic acid (1) also showed strong anti-inflammatory activity than its standard drug. The gross behavioral study of kirmanoic acid (1) revealed that it exhibited mild CNS stimulant and muscle relaxant in the mice. Compound 1 showed a slight increase in Locomotor activity and possesses the antidepressant effect. 相似文献

Fresh juice and methanolic extract of Emilia sonchifolia leaves were found to be potent inhibitors of hydroxyl radical formation and superoxide radical generation in vitro. The methanolic extract inhibited the carrageenan-induced oedema. 相似文献

Oral administration of the ethanolic extract (200 and 400 mg/kg, p.o) and its fractions (200 mg/kg each) of the aerial parts of Cleome rutidosperma produced significant analgesic activity in acetic acid-induced writhing and tail immersion tests, anti-inflammatory effect against carrageenin induced inflammation and adjuvant induced polyarthritis and antipyretic activity against yeast-induced pyrexia. Fractionation of the ethanolic extract potentiated the activities. 相似文献

The anti-inflammatory activity of the petrol, dichloromethane and methanol extracts from Gentianella achalensis flowering plant were studied using 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol acetate (TPA)-induced ear edema in mice and carrageenan-induced paw edema in rats. Only the dichloromethane extract and its F2 fraction (at 1 mg/ear) showed marked anti-inflammatory activity in TPA-induced ear edema test. No effects were seen on carrageenan-induced edema. Oleanolic and ursolic acid, isolated from F2, may account for the observed topical anti-inflammatory effects. 相似文献

A selection of seven phytocannabinoids representative of the major structural types of classic cannabinoids and their corresponding cannabivarins was investigated for in vivo topical anti-inflammatory activity in the Croton oil mouse ear dermatitis assay. Differences in the terpenoid moiety were far more important for anti-inflammatory activity than those at the C-3 alkyl residue, suggesting the involvement not only of cannabinoid receptors, but also of other inflammatory end-points targeted by phytocannabinoids. 相似文献

The aqueous extract of Persea americana leaves produced a dose-dependent inhibition of both phases of formalin pain test in mice, a reduction in mouse writhing induced by acetic acid and an elevation of pain threshold in the hot plate test in mice. The extract also produced a dose-dependent inhibition of carrageenan-induced rat paw oedema. The results obtained indicate that the extract possesses analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. 相似文献

The alcoholic extract of the roots of Premna herbacea was investigated for its antipyretic, antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory potential in animal models. The extract, when administered orally to mice has been found to be safe up to a dose of 8.0 g/kg. A significant antipyretic effect has been observed in rabbits while mild antinociceptive effects were evidenced in mice when tested by chemical as well as thermal methods. The extract did not exhibit any anti-inflammatory activity in acute but significantly reduced the chronic inflammation. 相似文献

We isolated the essential oils from Boswellia ovalifoliolata N.P.Balakr and A.N.Henry using hydrodistillation, identified the obtained compounds using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry(GC–MS) and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),and studied the photophysical and electrochemical properties using UV–visible and fluorescence spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. On the basis of GC–MS spectra,38 compounds were identified in the essential oil from leaves and 26 in the oil from bark. The bark oil contained 13.44% b-Farnesene(sesquiterpene),10.45% caryophyllene oxide(sesquiterpene) and 6.6% spathulenol,(2 Z,6 E)-(sesquiterpene alcohol); the leaf oil contained 11.1% spathulenol(sesquiterpene alcohol),9.0% caryophyllene oxide(sesquiterpenoids) and 6.3% decyl acetate(ester).FT-IR spectra confirmed the presence of aliphatic aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acid, alcohols, esters and ethers in both oil types.UV–visible absorption spectra showed maximum absorbance at 245,290 and 402 nm for bark oil,and 250,285 and 325 nm for leaf.Bark oil showed strong emission with maximum emission wavelength at 456 nm was higher than that of leaf oil at 414 nm.The essential oil had significant anti-inflammatory activity, and the reduction potential of the leaf oil was-0.44 and-0.56 e V for bark. 相似文献

The topical anti-inflammatory activity of extracts from Cassia angustifolia, Rheum palmatum, Coptis chinensis, Phellodendron amurense and Scutellaria baicalensis, plants used in traditional East Asian medicine against different skin disorders, was studied. Though in different degree, all the extracts significantly inhibited the edema induced by 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA), in both single or multiple application, oxazolone, and arachidonic acid (AA). None of the extracts inhibited in vitro the activity of phospholipase A(2) (PLA(2)) from Naja naja. 相似文献

Contribution of methylated exudate flavonoids to the anti-inflammatory activity of Grindelia robusta
Liselotte Krenn Eckhard Wollenweber Katja Steyrleuthner Cornelia Görick Matthias F. Melzig 《Fitoterapia》2009
The flavonoid pattern of an acetonic extract of Grindelia robusta Nutt. was investigated in detail. The flavonoids were enriched by CC. In addition to twelve known methylated exudate flavonols four compounds were identified for the first time in G. robusta. Several substances of the flavonoid complex, among them the main compounds quercetin-3-methylether and 6-OH-kaempferol-3,6-dimethylether, were tested for their activity to inhibit neutrophil elastase. Quercetin-3-methylether was shown to be most active with an IC50 of 19 µM, thus obviously contributing to the anti-inflammatory activity of the drug. 相似文献
