Volatile components were isolated from acerola fruit by simultaneous steam distillation-solvent extraction according to the Likens-Nickerson method and analyzed by GC and GC-MS methods. One hundred fifty constituents were identified in the aroma concentrate, from which furfural, hexadecanoic acid, 3-methyl-3-butenol, and limonene were found to be the major constituents. The amounts of esters, 3-methyl-3-butenol, and their various esters were thought to contribute to the unique flavor of the acerola fruit.  相似文献

14C-Labeled furametpyr [N-(1,3-dihydro-1,1, 3-trimethylisobenzofuran-4-yl)-5-chloro-1, 3-dimethylpyrazole-4-carboxamide, Limber] was dosed to male and female rats at 1 (low dose) and 200 or 300 mg/kg (high dose). Elimination of furametpyr was rapid, and the dosed (14)C was substantially excreted within 7 days (45.5-53.3% in feces, 44.1-53. 8% in urine, and 0.01% in expired air). However, (14)C excretion rate showed sex- and dose-related differences, more rapid in males at low dose. (14)C concentrations in tissues decreased rapidly to generally low levels at 7 days (<0.004 ppm with the low dose and <1. 1 ppm with the high dose). Forty metabolites were detected, and 13 metabolites and 4 glucuronides were identified. A small amount of unchanged furametpyr was detected in feces (0.1-0.5% of the dose). The major metabolites in tissues were N-demethylated metabolites. In a bile study, 52.5-54.2% of the dosed (14)C was rapidly excreted into bile within 2 days. The absorption ratio was estimated to be >93.7% for the low dose (1 mg/kg). Major metabolites in bile were glucuronic acid conjugates of furametpyr hydroxides. On the basis of the results, furametpyr is substantially absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract after oral administration, rapidly distributed to tissues, extensively metabolized, and excreted into urine and bile or feces.  相似文献

The phytochemicals in fruits have been shown to be major bioactive compounds with regard to health benefits. Bacaba ( Oenocarpus bacaba Mart.) is a native palm fruit from the Brazilian savannah and Amazon rainforest that plays an important role in the diet of rural communities and is also a source of income for poor people. This paper reports the characterization and analyses of phenolics from bacaba fruit extract. The total phenolic content of bacaba fruit amounted to 1759.27 ± 1.01 mg GAE/100 g, the flavonoid content was 1134.32 ± 0.03 mg CTE/100 g, and the anthocyanin content was 34.69 ± 0.00 mg cyn-3-glc/100 g. The antioxidant activity was evaluated through different assays [ORAC, FRAP, DPPH, TEAC, and cellular antioxidant assay (CAA) assays] and revealed a significant antioxidant capacity for bacaba in comparison to the data available in the literature. The assignment of the phenolic compounds using HPLC-DAD-MS(n) was based on the evaluation of their UV-vis absorption maxima (λ(max)) and mass spectral analyses, and 14 compounds were tentatively identified. The results suggest that bacaba fruits are a promising source of phenolics.  相似文献

[(1)(4)C]Prometryn, 2, 4-bis(isopropylamino)-6-(methylthio)-s-triazine, was orally administered to male and female rats at approximately 0.5 and 500 mg/kg; daily urine and feces were collected. After 3 or 7 days rats were sacrificed, and blood and selected tissues were isolated. The urine and feces extracts were characterized for metabolite similarity as well as for metabolite identification. Over 30 metabolites were observed, and of these, 28 were identified mostly by mass spectrometry and/or cochromatography with available reference standards. The metabolism of prometryn was shown to occur by N-demethylation, S-oxidation, S-S dimerization, OH substitution for NH(2) and SCH(3), and conjugation with glutathione or glucuronic acid. Rat liver microsomal incubations of prometryn were conducted and compared to the in vivo metabolism. Both in vivo and in vitro phase I metabolisms of prometryn were similar, with S-oxidation and N-dealkylation predominating. The involvement of cytochrome P-450 and flavin-containing monooxidase in the in vitro metabolism of prometryn was investigated.  相似文献

The competitiveness of several effective winged bean Rhizobium strains for nodulation was assessed in a glass house experiment with paired and multi-strain inoculations. The strains varied in their competitive abilities when applied as mixed inocula. The strains KUL-BH, KUL-Z3, KUL-JN and KUL-GP were more competitive than the strain RRIM 56. The strain KUL-GP was more competitive than the strain KUL-JN. The strains KUL-BH and KUL-GP had relatively high competitiveness. The multi-strain inoculum consisting of Rhizobium strains RRIM 56, KUL-BH, KUL-JN, KUL-GP and KUL-Z3 was equally effective as the single strain inoculations and thus the multi-strain inoculum could be used in field practice. The broth and the peat multi-strain inocula were equally effective.  相似文献

The metabolism and fate of ethametsulfuron-methyl ?methyl 2-[[[[[4-ethoxy-6-(methylamino)-1,3, 5-triazin-2-yl]amino]carbonyl]amino]sulfonyl]benzoate? in rutabaga were investigated. After 72 h, absorption and translocation of [(14)C]ethametsulfuron-methyl in rutabaga did not change for the duration of the study (50 days). Less than 4% of recovered radioactivity was present in the rutabaga root. Ethametsulfuron-methyl was metabolized through a proposed unstable alpha-hydroxy ethoxy intermediate that dissipated 3 days after treatment to two major metabolites, O-desethylethametsulfuron-methyl and N-desmethyl-O-desethylethametsulfuron-methyl, as determined by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. It was estimated that at a spray dose of 30 g of active ingredient ha(-)(1) and a harvest weight of 0.5 kg, the edible portion of the rutabaga root would contain no ethametsulfuron-methyl and approximately 1.3 ppb total of both identified metabolites. Residue analysis and toxicological assessment show that ethametsulfuron-methyl and its metabolites should pose little or no risk to consumers of rutabagas.  相似文献

Almond hulls (Nonpareil variety) were extracted with methanol and analyzed by reversed phase HPLC with diode array detection. The extract contained 5-O-caffeoylquinic acid (chlorogenic acid), 4-O-caffeoylquinic acid (cryptochlorogenic acid), and 3-O-caffeoylquinic acid (neochlorogenic acid) in the ratio 79.5:14.8:5.7. The chlorogenic acid concentration of almond hulls was 42.52 +/- 4.50 mg/100 g of fresh weight (n = 4; moisture content = 11.39%). Extracts were tested for their ability to inhibit the oxidation of methyl linoleate at 40 degrees C. At an equivalent concentration (10 microg/1 g of methyl linoleate) almond hull extracts had higher antioxidant activity than alpha-tocopherol. At higher concentrations (50 microg/1 g of methyl linoleate) almond hull extracts showed increased antioxidant activity that was similar to chlorogenic acid and morin [2-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one] standards (at the same concentrations). These data indicate that almond hulls are a potential source of these dietary antioxidants. The sterols (3beta,22E)-stigmasta-5,22-dien-3-ol (stigmasterol) and (3beta)-stigmast-5-en-3-ol (beta-sitosterol) (18.9 mg and 16.0 mg/100 g of almond hull, respectively) were identified by GC-MS of the silylated almond hull extract.  相似文献

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) hold great potential as electric light source for leafy vegetable production in controlled environment. However, most of LED lights in vegetable cultivation were only combined with red and blue LEDs, and the spectral composition was oversample. Previous studies reported that light spectral composition could influence nutritional quality of vegetables, e.g., nitrate content. In order to better understand the influence of spectral composition on nitrate accumulation of leafy vegetables grown in closed-type system. The nitrate content, nitrate primary metabolism of 35-day-old lettuce (Lactuca sativa L. Var. youmaicai) in vivo and its biomass were investigated. The results showed that cool white fluorescent light (T5) and high-pressure sodium light (HPS) with wide spectrum significantly reduced nitrate content in lettuce than red and blue combination LED light (RB-LED) treatment. Our findings demonstrated that a proper optimizing procedure of light spectrum with supplemental other wavebands in RB-LEDs is necessary for reducing nitrate accumulation of lettuce.  相似文献

Important fruit traits were screened in a plant breeding program concerning a newly domesticated crop in Sweden of rose hips. The taxa Rosa dumalis subsp. coriifolia , R . dumalis subsp. dumalis , R . rubiginosa and R . villosa subsp. mollis, collected from 23 localities in Scandinavia, were investigated for fruit weight, percentage of fruit flesh, percentage of dry matter and vitamin C content. R . dumalis subsp. coriifolia, R . dumalis subsp. dumalis and R . villosa subsp. mollis had significantly larger fruits and a higher percentage of fruit flesh than R . rubiginosa. Analysis of intraspecific variation showed that R. dumalis subsp . coriifolia was the most variable taxon, followed by R . dumalis subsp. dumalis and R . villosa subsp. mollis , whereas R. rubiginosa showed the most restricted variability. A highly significant positive correlation was found between fruit weight and percentage fruit flesh which in turn showed a moderate negative correlation with percentage dry matter.  相似文献

The metabolism and distribution of [2,3-(14)C]-acrolein were studied in 10 laying hens orally administered 1.09 mg/kg of body weight/day for 5 days. Eggs, excreta, and expired air were collected. The hens were killed 12-14 h after the last dose and edible tissues collected. The nature of radioactive residues was determined in tissues and eggs. All of the identified metabolites were the result of the incorporation of acrolein-derived radioactivity into normal natural products of intermediary metabolism in the hen except for 1,3-propanediol, which is a known degradation product of glycerol in bacteria.  相似文献

The metabolism and distribution of [2,3-(14)C]acrolein were studied in a lactating goat orally administered 0.82 mg/kg of body weight/day for 5 days. Milk, urine, feces, and expired air were collected. The goat was killed 12 h after the last dose, and edible tissues were collected. The nature of the radioactive residues was determined in milk and tissues. All of the identified metabolites were the result of the incorporation of acrolein into the normal, natural products of intermediary metabolism. There was evidence that the three-carbon unit of acrolein was incorporated intact into glucose, and subsequently lactose, and into glycerol. In the case of other natural products, the incorporation of radioactivity appeared to result from the metabolism of acrolein to smaller molecules followed by incorporation of these metabolites into the normal biosynthetic pathways.  相似文献

Phenolic compounds in loquat fruit were identified as 5-caffeoylquinic acid (chlorogenic acid), neochlorogenic acid, hydroxybenzoic acid, 5-p-feruloylquinic acid, protocatechuic acid, 4-caffeoylquinic acid, epicatechin, o-coumaric acid, ferulic acid, and p-coumaric acid. Neochlorogenic acid was found to be dominant in the early stages of loquat fruit development. Both the concentrations and types of phenolic compounds were high in young fruit but then decreased steadily during growth. However, the concentration of chlorogenic acid increased during ripening and became predominant in ripe fruit. The large rise in chlorogenic acid concentration appears to be a characteristic of loquat fruit ripening. In all of the cultivars tested, the types of phenolic compounds were similar but the total phenolic content varied from 81.8 to 173.8 mg/100 g of fresh pulp. In the biosynthetic pathway of chlorogenic acid, the enzyme activities of phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL), 4-coumarate:CoA ligase (CL), and hydroxycinnamoyl CoA:quinate hydroxycinnamoyl transferase (CQT) were high at the early stage of growth, diminished to low levels approximately 3 weeks prior to harvest, but then rose to a peak at 1 week before harvest. The changes of these enzyme activities seemed to be associated with variations in chlorogenic acid concentration during development, maturation, and ripening of loquat fruit.  相似文献

[Phenyl(U)-(14)C] and [triazole(3)-(14)C]flusilazole ([(bis 4-fluorophenyl)]methyl(1H-1,2,4-triazole-1-ylmethyl)silane; I) were extensively metabolized when fed to lactating goats (Capra hircus). The primary metabolites identified in goat tissues and milk were bis(4-fluorophenyl)(methyl)silanol (II) and 1H-1,2,4-triazole (III). Concentrations of total radiolabeled residues in the milk ranged from 0.09 to 0.74 microg/mL. Concentrations of radiolabeled residues found in tissues when the [(14)C] label was in the phenyl or triazole position, respectively, were 13.5 and 3.54 microg/g (liver), 8.74 and 0.75 microg/g (kidney), 0.41 and 0.52 microg/g (leg muscle), and 4.07 and 0.94 microg/g (back fat). Urine contained an additional major metabolite identified as [bis(4-fluorophenyl)](methyl)silylmethanol (IV) and its glucuronic acid conjugate (V). With either labeled form of flusilazole, the majority of the recovered radiolabel was excreted in urine or feces.  相似文献

The volatile composition of the essential oils from leaves and roots of Eupatorium betonicaeforme (D.C.) Baker was analyzed by GC-MS. A total of 12 compounds were identified. beta-Caryophyllene (12.4-41.7%), alpha-humulene (11.7-14.6%), gamma-muurolene (10.4-19.0%), bicyclogermacrene (15.0-17.5%), 2,2-dimethyl-6-vinylchroman-4-one (10.3-25.5%), and 2-senecioyl-4-vinylphenol (8.5-41.0%) were the most prominent constituents. The former two compounds were isolated and characterized by spectroscopic data. The essential oils and the isolated compounds were tested against Aedes aegypti larvae survival. The results obtained show that the essential oil from roots and 2,2-dimethyl-6-vinylchroman-4-one (10.3-25.5%) could be considered as natural larvicidal agents.  相似文献

Sunflower mutant lines with high saturated fatty acid content (palmitic or stearic) in the oil have a completely different set of triacylglycerols (TAG), some of which were not found in standard sunflowers. For optimum seed germination, all of these new TAG species must be effectively catabolized. The behavior of the TAG composition during germination in cotyledons of all these mutant lines showed two different phases: an initial phase (between 0 and 2 days after sowing) with a higher catalytic activity and a preference for TAG containing at least two oleic acid molecules and a second phase with lower TAG degradation rate and a low preference for TAG containing two saturated fatty acids usually accompanied by linoleic acid. Despite the elevated content of saturated fatty acids in some TAG species, the total TAG degradation rate and germination process were similar in these lines, suggesting that sunflower seed lipases do not show a marked preference for any TAG species.  相似文献
