Within the study area, a sulphide mineralization consisting of marcasite, sphalerite and accessory galena, as well as its subsurface oxidation product, a gossan in which the dominant mineral is goethite, are intricately intermixed with a gangue of calcite. The open profile at the mineralized site shows the succession of two soils: a leached brown soil (Hapludalf) developed in the loessic cover is underlain by a paleosol of the terra fusca type. The presence within the terra fusca of limonitic gravels indicates its genetic relationship with the underlying gossan. This is further confirmed by the distribution of Fe, Pb, Zn and Mn within the different horizons of the profile. The high values of Pb, and Zn, which are found both in the limonitic gravels and in the major B horizon of the terra fusca contrast strongly with the low values for the soil developed in loess.The different particle-size fractions from the major B horizons of both the leached brown soil and the terra fusca have been submitted to a selective dissolution method using five reagents sequentially (ammonium acetate, hydroxylamine, ammonium oxalate in darkness, ammonium oxalate under ultra violet (U.V.) radiation, strong acids). The crystalline iron oxides (which are dissolved by ammonium oxalate under U.V.) are concentrated in the sand fractions of the terra fusca and their extraction is accompanied by that of Zn. In the same particle-size fraction, hydroxylamine dissolves selectively Mn oxides and also extracts the major part of the Pb. A similar behaviour is observed when the same extraction sequence is applied to a limonitic gravel. The best evidence for the underlying mineralization is therefore found in the coarse and very coarse fractions of the terra fusca where the disintegration products of the gossan are concentrated. The nature of nitrogen compounds, especially organic nitrogen, in litter and soil, may be determined by studying the products of acid hydrolysis. Two techniques (standard continuous hydrolysis and successive hydrolyses) were applied to identical samples obtained from humus under beech (Fagus silvatica). The results provide evidence that the standard method brings about errors caused by desamination and insolubilization, whereas successive hydrolyses give better estimates, not only about the nitrogen-containing compounds but also about their stability and recalcitrance.  相似文献

Abstract

Twenty sweet corn tissue samplings were made from ten field trials during 1974–76. Fertilization had little effect on yields, but a good relationship was found between yields and leaf tissue nitrate and potassium concentrations, in the leaves 40–50 percent developed at the F‐9, F‐13 and F‐14 vegetative stages. The lower and upper tissue nitrate and potassium concentration limits (deficiency and excess) were found to range between 2000 and 3000 ppm nitrate, and 1.5 and 4.2 percent, or 2.0 and 3.25 percent potassium, according to their vegetative development. Excessive nitrogen and phosphorus application decreased kernel tenderness and total solids (sugar) content, but potassium fertilization enhanced total sugar accumulation.  相似文献

Influence of mineral nutrition on the predisposition of Phaseolus vulgaris against Colletrotrichum lindemuthianum (Sacc.et Magn.) Br.et Cav. I. Effects of different mineral nutrients and leaf-age on the disease severity 1. The N-concentration between 2–12 mMol N/I did hardly influence the disease, higher concentrations up to 52 mMol/I led to a severe disease increase. Potassium at concentrations of 5–10 mMol/I showed little effect on disease, higher concentrations up to 50 mMol also strongly increased the predisposition. 2. Calcium had a remarkable influence on symptom expression. Lower concentrations (1.15–0.25 mMol/I) increased the symptoms, higher concentrations up to 4.25 mMol/I reduced the disease, but only at a high disease level resulting from high N- or K-concentration. 3. The influences of Mg, P and Fe were of minor importance. 4. Usually, bean-leaves show resistance against C. lindermuthianum when the leaves are old. This is prevented by high N- and K-concentrations. 5. The change of predisposition related to the N- and K-concentration in the nutrient solution was confirmed with 3 additional bean varieties (‘Comtessa’ ‘Perry Marrow’, ‘Pizzaro’). No further increase of disease severity could be achieed with variety ‘Wavero’ which was generally very sensitive. 6. The monogenic resistance of incompatible combinations (‘Titan’/δ and ‘Titan’/λ) could not be changed with high N- or K-concentrations.  相似文献

In order to study the influence of salinity on the biological activity of soils, experiments were performed in a saline alkaline soil from Tunisia (mediterranean semi-arid climate) and compared with results of similar experiments performed in a pelosol from a semi-continental climate (Lorraine, France). Both soils had received 14C-labelled maize straw.The microbial biomass was estimated by a modified Jenkinson's method and also by measurements of ATP content. The microbial activity was determined by measurements of total and 14CO2 evolved.The results have shown an inverse correlation between the salinity determined by electrical conductivity and the biomass estimations and its activity. The higher ATP con tent (141.5 ng · 100 g?1 soil) was observed in the pelosol and the lower (99.4 ng · 100 g?1) in the saline soil. Simultaneously and respectively in the pelosol and the saline soil the biological carbon evolved was 114 and 54 mgC 100 g?1 soil and the average rate of 14C mineralization was 0.82 and 0.45 mgC · 100 g?1 soil.Results have also shown that CO2 evolved after sterilization and reinoculation is not only provided by mineralization of microbial biomass during fumigation but also from interaction between organic-matter and CHCl3; this interaction is more intense in the saline soil.  相似文献

La diversité des conditions d’environnement (roche-mère, climat, végétation) prévalant dans un massif de moyenne montagne (Vosges, France) nous a permis d’établir leur rôle dans la manifestation à des degrés divers des propriétés andiques dans le sol. Nous avons examiné un lot de 13 profils sélectionnés à partir de critères lithologiques, climatiques et morphologiques présumés favorables à l’expression de ces propriétés andiques: roches-mères basiques d’origine volcanique ou non, climat montagnard très humide, abondance de matière organique sur une grande profondeur. Ces profils se subdivisent en deux populations. Quatre d’entre eux peuvent être classés comme des Andisols (Alic Fulvudands) alors que les autres ont des propriétés andiques trop faiblement exprimées pour appartenir à cet ordre et doivent être classés comme des Andic Haplumbrepts. Tous ces sols sont dépourvus d’allophanes. Dans cet environnement de moyenne montagne, les facteurs favorables à la manifestation de propriétés andiques sont d’une part, les altitudes et les expositions qui induisent de faibles températures et de fortes précipitations et d’autre part, l’altérabilité des roches-mères déterminée par leur composition chimique et minéralogique. Comme les vieux matériaux volcaniques sur lesquels se développent la plupart des sols étudiés sont pauvres en verres, voire complètement dévitrifiés, les Andisols vosgiens présentent beaucoup d’analogies avec les Andisols non-allophaniques non-volcaniques identifiés dans d’autres environnements. Leurs propriétés andiques sont faiblement exprimées et elles sont dues à la présence de complexes organo-métalliques associée à des teneurs élevées en carbone organique. The diverse environmental conditions (parent material, climate, vegetation) in the Vosges Mountains (France) allow us to investigate their role in the development of soils with varying degrees of andic properties. We studied 13 profiles selected on the basis of lithological, ecological and morphological criteria assumed to favour the formation of andic properties, i.e. basic parent materials of volcanic and other origins, wet montane climates and accumulation of thick layers of organic matter. The profiles belong to two classes: four are Andisols, more precisely Alic Fulvudands, and the others are Andic Haplumbrepts with only weakly expressed andic properties. In this montane environment the factors favouring the andic properties seem to be on the one hand height and exposure inducing cold and humid microclimates, and on the other the chemical and mineralogical composition controlling the weatherability of the soil’s parent materials. For example, the old volcanic rocks on which most of the soils occur are poor in glassy material or are even completely devitrified. Accordingly, Andisols in the Vosges are like those of non-volcanic, non-allophanic Andisols elsewhere in the world: their andic properties are weakly expressed and are caused by organo-metallic complexes associated with their upper organic-rich horizons rather than by allophanes.  相似文献

  • 1 The predisposition of Phaseolus vulgaris vs. Colletotrichum lindemuthianum was increased with higher N- and K-concentrations in the nutrient solution.
  • 2 No correlation between these changes of susceptibility and organic plant constituents, the content of which was also influenced by the nutrition (total carbohydrates, chlorophyll, total N, precipitable N, total protein, individual amino acids).
  • 3 Analysis of inorganic plant constituents (K, Ca, Mg, Fe, at increased N- and K-nutrition showed a negative correlation between the predisposition and the content of Ca and, to a lesser extent of Mg.
  • 4 The influence of N-nutrition on the susceptibility was only related to the ammonium-ion. The nitrate concentration in the nutrient solution had no effect.
  • 5 The predisposition was also influenced by Ca-nutrition: low Ca-concentration in the nutrient solution, low Ca-content and high susceptibility, on the other hand high Ca-concentration, high Ca-content and low susceptibility. At a certain level of Ca no further reduction of the disease level could be achieved (35 and 25mg Cdg dry matter for primary leaves and the third leaf, respectively).

In a recent comment on the paper by Aronson and McNulty (2009) about “Appropriate experimental ecosystem warming methods by ecosystem, objective, and practicality”, Amthor et al. (2010) state that infrared lamps do not warm open-field plots by the mechanism expected with global warming. While this statement is correct, in the aftermath of their comment, confusion exists about how warming with infrared heaters can be related to global warming. This comment illustrates how infrared heating at “constant temperature rise” relates in a quantitative way to anticipated global warming. Amthor et al. (2010) also state that changes in vapor pressure gradient from leaf to atmosphere are an issue with infrared heating, but this problem can be minimized with supplemental irrigations in controlled amounts. Therefore, “constant temperature rise” infrared warming experiments with supplemental irrigations are a viable T-FACE (temperature free-air controlled enhancement) that can be used in combination with CO2-FACE to produce conditions more representative of future open-fields than can be done with chambers with their many known artifacts.  相似文献

Genetic variation and relationships among members of the azuki bean complex (Vigna angularis) including wild (V. angularis var. nipponensis), weedy, and cultivated types (V. angularis var. angularis), V. nakashimae, and rice bean (V. umbellata) from Korea were examined using the Amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) method. AFLP analysis of 50 accessions revealed 333 (72.1%) polymorphic fragments out of 462 fragments amplified using seven primer combinations. The number of polymorphic fragments within each species was 70 in the azuki bean complex and 41 in V. nakashimae, but there was no polymorphism in rice bean. The number of shared fragments among species ranges from 142 between the azuki bean complex and V. nakashimae to 166 between the azuki bean complex and rice bean. Within the azuki bean complex, the range of shared bands was from 231 between cultivated and weedy types to 238 between cultivated and wild types. A dendrogram generated from Jaccard’s similarity matrix was divided into three groups, which correspond to V. nakashimae, azuki bean complex, and rice bean. The relationship between azuki bean and rice bean is closer than between azuki bean and V. nakashimae. Phenetic distances averaged 0.502 between the azuki bean complex and V. nakashimae and 0.467 between the azuki bean complex and rice bean. Within the azuki bean complex, the weedy type was more closely related to wild than cultivated types. But UPGMA dendrogram of the azuki bean complex reveals that each type is not clearly isolated. These results will help to understand genetic diversity and evolutionary dynamics of Vigna in Korea.  相似文献

Abstract

Thirteen fertility trials were made throughout Quebec's corn growing region during 1972–74. These included eleven fertilizer combinations with corn silage as the test crop and were carried out on nine soils. Total dry matter and digestible nutrients (TDN) varied greatly from year to year, though, mean yields increased by 23 and 30 percent respectively with the 50 kg N/ha treatment, compared to control receiving no nitrogen fertilization. However, 150 kg N/ha was required to attain a maximum yield of 1250 kg/ha crude protein. Despite a 0.2 percent nitrate content found in the silage grown on the most northerly site, a 120 kg P/ha combined with 100 kg N and K gave the highest mean TDN production (9580 kg/ha).

Potassium fertilization affected plant K content of corn grown at the most northerly site only, where a 0.5 percent was found with the control on a suit containing low potassium levels. Further, striking increases in Ca and Mg concentrations were observed with corn grown on that soil. However, magnesium concentration ranging from 0.11 to 0.14 percent were found with nine field trials out of twelve. Also, low K:(Ca + Mg) ratios were found on three trials, which were increased with potassium fertilization levels of 150 kg K/ha. Accordingly, it is suggested that uptakes of 200, 48, 200, 30 and 30 kg/ha of N, P, K, Ca and Mg are required for good corn silage crops.  相似文献

Teosintes are the closest relatives to modern maize, Zea mays L. ssp. mays. They are wild grasses with a native distribution area from Mexico to Nicaragua and represent an important genetic resource. However, the genetic diversity of Nicaraguan teosinte (Zea nicaraguensis Iltis et Benz) has not yet been determined. This teosinte species has decreased in the last 25 years and now must be regarded as an endangered species. An analysis of the genetic diversity of Zea nicaraguensis was carried out in a total of 240 individuals from seven populations. Eleven Simple Sequences Repeat (SSR) primer pairs were used. A total of 42 alleles were found, the range of alleles per locus was 2–5 (mean 3.8) and the numbers of genotypes varied between primers. The primer Bnlg 1538 showed the highest value, with 45 genotypes through all populations. The genetic diversity observed (Ho) between all populations varied from 0.51 to 0.63, with an average of 0.563. One of the populations had as many as 40 alleles. Analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) revealed that most of the variation was within population, at a significantly high level (P < 0.001). Rare alleles were detected in all populations, but unique alleles were only found in four populations. These results are highly relevant when developing conservation strategies and show that preserving populations in their natural habits is highly important.  相似文献
