Methodological approaches for undertaking research on the dietary nutrient requirements of farmed crustaceans should ensure that the studies are designed and conducted in such a manner that the ensuing results can be applied under practical farming conditions. Sadly, the majority of studies to date have had little practical applicability, the bulk of nutrient-requirement studies having been conducted under controlled, artificial, laboratory conditions. Despite the fact that the giant tiger prawn (Penaeus monodon Fabricius), the whiteleg shrimp (Penaeus vannamei Boone) and the fleshy prawn (Penaeus chinensis Osbeck) are the three most-cultivated crustacean species in the world (total aqua-culture production of these crustacean species in 1993 totalled 625487 metric tonnes or 66.9% of the total world farmed crustacean production), little or no information exists concerning their dietary nutrient requirements under practical semi-intensive pond-farming conditions (where the bulk of the production is currently realized). To a large extent this has been due to the apparent reluctance of the conventional laboratory-based crustacean nutritionist to also work under field conditions and the difficulty of quantifying the contribution of natural food organ-isms in the overall nutritional budget of pond-raised crustaceans. If meaningful conclusions are to be drawn from nutrient requirement studies and dietary feeding trials, it is essential that the experimental animals be reared under conditions mimicking as far as possible those of the intended farm production unit and environment, including holding facility (indoor or outdoor tank, cage or pond), feed preparation technique (grinding, pelleting, drying; diet texture, form, shape, size, buoyancy and water stability), feeding method (hand, demand or automatic feeding; feeding frequency and feeding rate–fixed or satiation feeding; day or night-time feeding), water quality (temperature, turbidity, salinity, oxygen and mineral concentration; water exchange rate, water circulation pattern and artificial aeration), photoperiod (artificial or natural) and crustacean stocking density. Finally, but not least, it is essential that the growth performance of the experimental animals be at least equal to or greater than that of the target crustacean species under practical farming conditions if realistic conclusions are to be drawn, and it is necessary that dietary nutrient requirements can be ascertained under conditions of maximum attainable growth.  相似文献

Experiments were conducted comparing the reproductive performance of ablated female shrimp Pleoticus muelleri fed either a fresh frozen diet (ND) (clam, prawn, squid) and the same diet supplemented with 15% of an artificial diet (SD) (54% protein, 13% lipid, 7% moisture). The shrimp were maintained in 3500‐L tanks (12 h light‐12 h dark photoperiod, temperature 18–20°C, pH 7, salinity 31 g L?1, ammonium <0.2 mg L?1, and sea water exchanged at 100% per day) for 45 days. Significant differences in weight gain were determined between ablated females fed ND (37.2%) and SD (26.4%). No significant differences in the average duration of the intermolt period (19±2 days) were recorded. Females fed SD showed signs of maturation 20 days after ablation, with spawning occurring 1 day later, as long as ablated females fed ND reached maturation 4 weeks after did not occur. The number of eggs per spawn varied from 136 000 to 345 000; the percentage viability ranged between 39.3% and 99.3% with an average of 78.5%. The results indicated that a suitable formulated diet together with eyestalk ablation promotes maturation of P. muelleri in captivity.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to investigate the presence of white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) in the Paraíba River, Brazil. Eight sampling sites were established on the bank of the river near water intake areas for the farming of Litopenaeus vannamei. Ten specimens of the shrimp Palaemon pandaliformis and the gastropods Pomacea lineata and Melanoides tuberculatus were collected at each site. Eighty‐one gill fragments from P. pandaliformis, 40 whole individuals of M. tuberculatus and 26 muscle fragments from P. lineata were collected. All samples were stored in microcentrifuge tubes with 95% ethanol (1:10; v:v). Tests were performed at the Potiporã Molecular Analysis Laboratory (state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil) for the detection of WSSV using Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification with the aid of the LAMP WSSV kit (Concepto Azul, Ecuador). Twenty‐nine per cent of P. pandaliformis, 48% of M. tuberculatus and 8% of P. lineata tested positive. The findings demonstrate that WSSV is present in wild crustaceans and mollusks, which may serve as vectors and/or reservoirs of the virus, thereby posing a potential risk to local shrimp farming. This is the first report of WSSV in wild specimens of M. tuberculatus and P. lineata.  相似文献

研究不同投喂频率(1次/d,2次/d,3次/d,4次/d)对福瑞鲤(FFRC strain common carp)幼鱼摄食与生长的影响,试验周期为30 d。结果显示:当投喂频率从1次/d增加到4次/d时,福瑞鲤幼鱼的摄食率逐步提高,1次/d组的摄食率显著低于其他组(P0.05);体重增长率、体长增长率和特定生长率随投喂频率的增加均有不同程度提高,在4次/d时达到最高;饲料转化率逐步升高,1次/d组显著低于其他组(P0.05)。各试验组福瑞鲤幼鱼的个体体重/体长差异随着投喂频率的增加而先升后降,最终幼鱼的规格趋于一致。综合本试验结果,投喂频率对福瑞鲤幼鱼的摄食与生长存在显著影响,在4次/d的投喂频率下其摄食水平、生长性能、饲料转化效率及大小分化差异系数等均表现出较好状态。  相似文献

Shortage of fish meal (FM) resources in the marine environment, high price and high demand for this ingredient led researchers to seek for alternative protein resources such as meat and bone meal (MBM). The effects of adding MBM and garlic powder to the shrimp diet on growth performance, muscle composition, amino acid and fatty acid profiles of whiteleg shrimp (5.00 ± 0.23 g) were investigated. A total of six dietary treatments were formulated: 0%MBM (control without garlic powder), 25%MBM and 50%MBM (treatments without garlic powder; WG treatments); 0%MBM+G (control with garlic powder), 25%MBM+G and 50%MBM+G (treatments with garlic powder; G treatments). Our results indicated that increase MBM level in the diets (up to 50%MBM) impaired growth performance, muscle composition, fatty acid and amino acid profiles in the muscle of shrimp. Interestingly, garlic supplementation improved the aforementioned factors so that shrimp fed 50%MBM+G diet had no significant difference when compared to 0%MBM group. The current results indicated that garlic could increase levels of FM replacement by increasing feed intake, improving protein and amino acid utilization. Overall, 50%MBM+G diet is recommended for use in shrimp production.  相似文献

In a recently developed paradigm for the feeding behaviour of Crustacea, chemical stimuli are postulated to play a key role in mediating the various stages of feeding from initial excitation to sustained feeding. A hierarchical testing protocol for the screening of compounds or mixtures as chemical stimuli for Penaeus spp. was designed, utilizing: (a) a static chamber for an initial rapid assay for behavioural excitation; (b) a novel flow-through chamber for demonstrating chemotaxis; (c) a modified Y-maze choice chamber for more detailed studies on chemotaxis and feeding stimulation; and (d) aquarium feeding trials in which the most potent chemical attractants and/or feeding stimulants are incorporated into experimental feeds. In shrimp aquaculture, efficient feed utilization is of paramount importance to the economics of production and water quality. Identification and incorporation into the feed of ingredients that act as chemoattrac-tants and/or chemical feeding stimulants should lead to better food utilization, e.g. lower feed conversion ratios (FCRs), thereby producing quicker growth rates and lowering the incidence of water pollution and disease.  相似文献

Two trials were conducted to evaluate the growth, survival and hepatopancreas histology of the Argentine red shrimp Pleoticus muelleri (Bate, 1888) fed different levels of vitamin E and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) in a semipurified diet. The diets contained 0, 100, 600 or 1500 mg vitamin E kg?1 and 16 mg BHT kg?1 diet (trial 1) and 0, 1250, 1500, 1750 or 2000 mg vitamin E kg?1 diet, squid mantle and vitamin‐free diet as a control (trial 2). After 30 days (trial 1), survival ranged between 43% and 64%, and the percentage weight gain of the shrimp varied from 22% to 31% with no significant differences among treatments (P<0.05). After 40 days (trial 2), survival of shrimp fed the diet with no vitamin E and squid mantle was significantly lower (62%) than the other treatment (86–90%). Shrimp fed diets containing vitamin E from 1250 to 1750 mg kg?1 exhibited increased weight gain (34–65%); however, a significant difference was observed for shrimp fed the diet containing 2000 mg kg?1. Histological results yielded differences among treatments. In shrimp fed 1750 mg kg?1 of vitamin E, the functional morphology of the organ was normal, with abundant secretion in the tubules. Signs of malnourishment such as cellular and nuclear retraction, desquamation of cells and hipertrofia, were evident in the hepatopancreas of shrimp fed the other diets. The results indicate that optimal vitamin E requirement for P. muelleri under the present experimental conditions appears to be approximately 1750 mg vitamin E kg?1 diet.  相似文献

The effects of a 21 day infestation with the ectoparasite Argulus foliaceus on the response of rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss to an acute stressor (confinement) were investigated. Fish were divided into a control and two parasitized groups, with one parasitized group having received cortisol feeding 72 and 24 h before infection. Prior to confinement only control fish showed a significant increase in body mass and condition factor. Following 4 h confinement, plasma glucose levels in the normal- fed/infested group were significantly higher than in the controls, while the cortisol-fed/infested group had significantly lower plasma levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and glucose. Both infested groups, but not controls, had higher plasma ACTH and cortisol levels 48 h after confinement when compared with their pre-confinement levels. Stressor-induced immunomodulation was more evident in the parasitized fish after confinement, as was concluded from decreased lysozyme activity, alternative complement activity and oxygen radical production either immediately after, or 48 h post 4 h confinement. Circulating lymphocyte numbers were significantly reduced in the control and normal-fed/infested fish. Results indicate that low ectoparasitic infestations can, for a prolonged period, lead to a stress experience with effects that impair the response to subsequent stressors. Such effects may be further confounded by a previous elevation of plasma cortisol levels.  相似文献

鱼类通过摄食维持自身的生存、生长和繁殖,对鱼类摄食习性的空间异质性及其索饵场分布进行研究有助于了解鱼类在不同海域间的生长差异。本研究根据2011年及2013―2016年春季在海州湾进行的渔业资源底拖网调查数据,通过胃含物分析研究皮氏叫姑鱼(Johniusbelangerii)的摄食习性,依据胃含物分析结果选择主要饵料生物,结合皮氏叫姑鱼和主要饵料生物的空间分布,研究皮氏叫姑鱼摄食习性的空间异质性,并判别其索饵场。结果表明:皮氏叫姑鱼摄食的饵料生物共有20余种,其中虾类(IRI%=55.54%)和端足类(IRI%=35.94%)为优势饵料类群。基于胃含物分析和底拖网调查,选择海蜇虾(Latreutesanoplonyx)、细巧仿对虾(Parapenaeopsistenella)、鲜明鼓虾(Alpheus distinguendus)、疣背宽额虾(Latreutes planirostris)、细螯虾(Leptochela gracilis)、戴氏赤虾(Metapenaeopsis dalei)、日本鼓虾(Alpheus japonicus)和中华安乐虾(Eualus sinensis) 8种饵料生物研究皮氏叫姑鱼摄食习性的空间异质性及其索饵场。摄食选择性的研究表明,海州湾春季的皮氏叫姑鱼喜食海蜇虾。本研究发现,皮氏叫姑鱼及其主要饵料生物资源丰度重心均位于海州湾中部10~20m深海域;海州湾中南部10~20m海域的饵料生物资源丰度显著高于其他海域(P0.05),而且该海域皮氏叫姑鱼的个体较小,生长速度较快,摄食强度较高,是其主要的索饵场。  相似文献

Microbound feeds have been well accepted by shrimps and farmers in many penaeid shrimp hatcheries. The present study focused on an adequate level of replacement of Artemia nauplii and microalgae by a microbound diet for rearing Litopenaeus setiferus (Burkenroad) larvae. A microbound diet (MBD) consisting of fishmeal, squid meal, shrimp meal, yeast meal and soybean meal was used. The first experiment was designed to obtain the optimum level of MBD to complete the live feeding schedule, from Protozoea (PZIII) to Mysis (MIII). The experimental levels of the microbound diet tested were 2, 4, 6 and 8 mg MBD L?1 day?1. The next step was to determine the Artemia nauplii replacement level from PZI to MIII by MBD. These experiments were carried out either in the presence (Experiment 2) or in the absence of algae (Experiment 3). Four replacement levels were tested: 0% (4 mg MBD L?1 day?1: 1 Artemia nauplii mL?1), 40% (5.5 mg MBD L?1 day?1: 0.6 Artemia nauplii), 60% (6.5 mg MBD L?1 day?1: 0.4 Artemia nauplii) and 100% (8 mg MBD L?1 day?1: 0 Artemia nauplii). In all experiments growth, survival, development, quality index (QI) and performance index (PI), were used to determine the optimum concentration of microbound diet. Results showed that 6 mg MBD L?1 day?1 can be recommended as a complement to live food for L. setiferus larvae from PZIII to MIII. In the presence of algae, maximum growth and survival may be obtained in 40–60% (5.5–6.5 mg MBD L?1 day?1) of Artemia nauplii replacement levels. In the absence of algae, the Artemia nauplii replacement resulted in slower development, less salinity resistance, lower growth and lower survival than was obtained in larvae fed with algae.  相似文献

为观察不同投喂频率和投喂水平对长吻鮠(Leiocassis longirostris)幼鱼生长和免疫的影响,将平均体质量1. 15 g的长吻鮠饲养在水泥池(2 m×1 m×1 m)中,投喂频率分别为2次/d和3次/d,各投喂频率下投喂水平分别为鱼体质量的2%、4%、6%、8%和10%,每个处理组放鱼60尾,饲养为期42 d。结果显示:投喂频率为2次/d和3次/d时,试验鱼的末体质量、特定生长率与投喂水平之间存在二次相关性,两条曲线几乎重合,表明投喂频率、投喂水平对试验鱼的末体质量和特定生长率的影响是一致的;血清中丙二醛(MDA)含量在投喂频率为2次/d、投喂水平为4%和6%时较低;血清总超氧化物歧化酶(T-SOD)含量在投喂频率为2次/d、投喂水平为4%和6%时较高;血清溶菌酶(LYS)含量在投喂水平为6%、投喂频率2次/d和3次/d时显著高于其他各组(P <0. 05)。综合生长和免疫指标,在本试验条件下,投喂频率为2次/d、投喂水平为6%的投喂模式更利于长吻鮠幼鱼的生长。  相似文献

能量与营养物质的正常获取是维系造礁石珊瑚生命活动的基础,这主要与其两种营养方式—光合自养和异养营养有关。当前,国内外学者对造礁石珊瑚的研究以光合自养为主,而对其异养营养的认识则相对不足。基于此,本研究以鹿回头礁区(海南三亚)的3种代表性造礁石珊瑚—丛生盔形珊瑚、鹿角杯形珊瑚和美丽鹿角珊瑚为对象,通过投喂丰年虫无节幼体、水族用桡足类、酵母浸出粉溶液及水族珊瑚粮这4种食物,探讨了3种造礁石珊瑚的食性、摄食方式。结果显示,丛生盔形珊瑚对上述4种食物均表现出明显的摄食行为;相反,美丽鹿角珊瑚对4种食物均不表现摄食行为;鹿角杯形珊瑚只摄食尺寸较小的丰年虫无节幼体和水族珊瑚粮,并首次发现其在摄食丰年虫无节幼体时水螅体间相互协作以及通过释放肠系膜摄食水族珊瑚粮的现象。进一步研究丛生盔形珊瑚对丰年虫无节幼体的摄食速率和消化情况,发现其摄食速率与丰年虫无节幼体密度符合米氏方程,且其消化周期约为3 h。研究结果有助于更加深入地认识造礁石珊瑚摄食取向及其摄食过程,可为造礁石珊瑚人工养殖过程中的饵料选择提供借鉴。  相似文献

A 6‐week growth trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of feeding rate on growth performance, body composition, plasma metabolites and enzyme activities, and to determine the optimal feeding rate for juvenile Brazilian sardine. Fish were fed at six feeding rates, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10% BWday?1 (body weight per day) and until satiation (10.3% BWday?1). The survival of fish fed at 2%–6%BWday?1 was significantly higher (p < .05) than the survival of fish fed at the other feeding rates. The final body weight and specific growth rate significantly increased (p < .05) with increasing feeding rates while feed utilization decreased. Total proteins, cholesterol and triglycerides concentrations increased significantly with increasing feeding rates; however, there was no significant effect on glucose levels. Body protein and ash contents were not affected by the feeding rates. Whole‐body lipid content increased significantly as the feeding rate increased, while moisture content had an opposite trend. Proteases and amylase activities significantly decreased with increasing feeding rates, while lipase activity was not influenced by the feeding rate. Our results suggest that low feeding rates stimulate mobilization of metabolites to supply energy for the maintenance of overall metabolism and digestive enzyme activities increase to enhance feed utilization. The optimum feeding rate of juvenile Brazilian sardine based on PRR as determined by the second‐order polynomial regression was 5.45% BWday?1.  相似文献

鱼类的日摄食节律分为白天摄食、晚上摄食、晨昏摄食和无明显节律四种类型。为了解斜带石斑鱼早期发育阶段的日摄食量及昼夜摄食规律,对孵化15天的仔鱼(全长4.86±0.38mm)在不同昼夜节律下的日摄食量和摄食节律进行了研究。结果如下:实验包括自然昼夜组(对照组)、持续光照组和持续黑暗组,各组对轮虫的日摄食量分别为142个/尾、156个/尾和47个/尾;白天摄食量比例分别为总摄食量的91.3%,80.5%和71.7%。对照组在正午(14:00)出现一个明显的摄食高峰;持续光照组在下午(16:00~18:00)出现明显的摄食小高峰;黑暗组则未出现明显的摄食峰。持续光照组在夜间的群摄食率明显高于对照组;黑暗组在白天的群摄食率明显低于对照组。持续光照组摄食强度小幅度增加,日摄食量为对照组的109.9%;而黑暗组摄食强度则明显下降,日摄食量为对照组的33.1%。综上所述,斜带石斑仔鱼摄食节律明显,属于典型的白天摄食类型;仔鱼的摄食与光照有着紧密的关系。  相似文献

以瓦氏黄颡鱼仔鱼为研究对象,将其分为15个处理组,每组200尾(各设3个平行组),分别在孵化后3、4、5、6、7.8、9、10、11、12、13、14、15和16d开始投喂大型涵,第15组为饥饿组,从不投饵。水温24.5~25.5℃,实验周期为30d。结果表明:(1)孵化后3d的瓦氏黄颡鱼仔鱼初次摄食,15日龄不能建立外源性营养的仔鱼进入PNR期,卵黄囊已耗尽。混合营养期持续4.12h。(2)瓦氏黄颡鱼仔鱼在不同饥饿阶段初次摄食率的变化为:开始较低,此后迅速上升,在4~10日龄达到高峰,最高初次摄食率为100%,此后逐步下降。(3)延迟5天投饵对瓦氏黄颡鱼仔鱼的存活率影响不显著,延迟6d投饵瓦氏黄颡鱼仔鱼的存活率随延迟投饵天数的增加而降低。延迟6d投饵,瓦氏黄颡鱼仔鱼的体长增长率随延迟投饵天数的增加而降低。  相似文献

鱼类通过摄食活动获得能量和营养物质,而食欲是影响鱼类摄食的重要因素之一。食欲调控是一个复杂的网络,大脑整合机体能量和摄食信号,通过食欲调节因子(包括促进食欲因子和抑制食欲因子)调控鱼类摄食行为。Apelin作为一种新型内分泌因子,在体内发挥广泛的生物学作用。其中,Apelin在摄食调节方面的作用正在引起学者的关注。本文以哺乳动物为参照,综述了Apelin的组织分布、饥饿和营养物质对Apelin表达的影响、Apelin处理对鱼类摄食的影响及其潜在的机制和信号通路,旨在为促进鱼类摄食和水产养殖提供参考。  相似文献

水产养殖中的饲料成本占养殖总成本的比例较大,有效的投喂策略是减少水产养殖生产成本的重要途径,投饲装备投喂过程中,既要满足鱼群生长的营养需求,也要避免过多投饲,从而降低对环境的污染。当前国内水产养殖投饲装备智能化水平较低,投饲策略主要依据人工经验定量投饲,每一次喂料的偏差累积影响整期渔获经济效益。因此,科学的投喂策略能有效减少养殖成本,提高养殖效益。重点介绍了基于人工经验及生物能流的鱼群生长摄食模型、基于机器视觉及机器声学感知鱼群摄食活动的技术手段和智能投喂控制系统的发展状况,并提出投喂策略的具体实现方法。本研究可为水产养殖投饲装备从自动化升级到智能化提供参考。  相似文献

ABSTRACT:   The red drum Sciaenops ocellatus Linnaeus is an exoticaquaculture species in Taiwan. As a carnivore it preys on a varietyof food organisms, including fishes and invertebrates. Isolatingthe sensory mechanisms that govern its predatory behavior wouldhelp clarify its feeding habit. The present study focused on predationresponses influenced by vision, olfaction and lateral line in captivejuvenile red drum. Results showed that the lateral line had themost significant influence on predatory behavior of the fish. Blockingmechanoreception of the lateral line system resulted in completeloss of ability to catch prey. Ablation of olfaction, in contrast,caused a booster effect on the predation rate. Experimental fishwith scorched olfactory rosettes showed active predatory behavior. Nearor complete darkness had insignificant influence on the predationrate. When the lateral line system was blocked, the fish could notprey normally, even when vision and olfaction were left intact. Itwas concluded that mechanoreception plays the primary role and visionthe secondary role in predatory behavior of the red drum.  相似文献
