Apatite is the dominant phosphorus (P) mineral in early stages of soil development, and its redistribution as labile forms under pedogenesis controls terrestrial bioavailability. Quantitative distribution of labile forms of P and apatite-P was examined in Pothwar Loess Plain, Pakistan where the degree of pedogenesis varied with relief. Four soil types, Typic Ustorthents (Rajar), Typic Calciustepts (Missa), Udic Calciustepts (Basal), and Udic Haplustalfs (Guliana), were sampled from three replicated locations at genetic horizon level. With the exception of total P value at surface, the mean total and apatite-P decreased towards the surface in Udic Haplustalfs and Udic Calciustepts where dicalcium and octacalcium phosphate increased toward surface. Iron (oxides and oxyhydroxides) adsorbed and occluded P forms were also in greater quantities in Udic Haplustalfs and increased toward the surface, whereas they were lowest and uniform in the Typic Ustorthents. Aluminum- and organic P correlated with soil organic matter. Apatite-P decreased exponentially with an increase in the sum of iron adsorbed and occluded P fractions, and fitted the equation M(x) =M0[1 - exp(-wx)] with r^2=0.996, where M(x) is the mean apatite-P concentration in solum, M0 is the apatite-P content in the loess sediments, x is the cumulative iron adsorbed and occluded P, and w is an empirical factor indicating the change rate of apatite-P in the loess. From the calculated apatite-P of 740 mg kg^-1 at the time of deposition, mean apatite-P loss was 60% in Udic Haplustalfs, 33% in Udic Calciustepts, 23% in Typic Calciustepts, and 8% in Typic Ustorthents. The transformation of soil P to labile forms was faster and deeper in level or slight depressions followed by gently sloping areas in wide plains, and was the least in the gullied land. 相似文献

通过溶液培养试验研究了FeCl2?4H2O和FeCl3?6H2O对水稻根表铁膜数量及铁吸收的影响。结果表明,FeCl2处理时水稻根表铁膜浓度是FeCl3处理的197%~233%。利用EDTA-BPDS对铁膜形态分析看出,根表铁膜中Fe3+占85%~92%,Fe2+占8%~15%。水稻天优998根表铁膜数量显著高于培杂泰丰,其铁吸收是培杂泰丰的115%~138%。两种铁形态处理明显提高水稻的根系活力,其中,FeCl2处理时水稻根系活力增加24%~69%,FeCl3为16%~54%。FeCl2处理时水稻根系SOD、POD和CAT活性分别增加11%~32%、15%~30%和30%~31%,但FeCl3处理没有明显影响。上述结果表明一定浓度铁处理明显增加水稻根表铁浓度和铁吸收;与FeCl3处理相比,FeCl2处理能提高根系抗氧化酶活性,增加水稻的铁吸收和根表铁膜数量。 相似文献

A study on the distribution of free iron and manganese oxides was conducted in soils developed on calcareous alluvial deposits under subhumid climatic conditions, in Western Greece. Soil samples from two well drained soils and from two poorly drained soils, classified as Alfisols, were collected and used in this study. After certification of soil homogeneity the acid ammonium oxalate and dithionite-citrate-bicaxbonate methods were used to extract free iron and manganese oxides from the samples. Iron oxides extracted by the dithionite-citrate-bicarbonate method (Fed) were significantly higher than the iron oxides extracted by the ammonium oxalate method (Feo), indicating that a considerable fraction is present in crystalline forms, independent of drainage status. A confirmation of free iron oxides and fine clay was detected. The ratios Feo/Fed and (Fed-Feo)/total Fe (Fet) could not be used to distinguish the well drained soils from the poorly drained soils. We used sequential extraction to investigate changes in the amounts of six chemical forms of manganese, cobalt and cadmium in soil samples after chloroform fumigation. The six forms were designated as follows: exchangeable, dilute-acid-soluble, manganese-oxide-occluded, organically bound, iron-oxide-occluded and residual. For all three metals, the decreases in the amounts of manganese-oxide-occluded forms were equivalent to the sum of the increases in the amounts of exchangeable and dilute-acid-soluble forms. The amounts of the other three forms did not change significantly after fumigation. These results indicate that some of the cobalt and cadmium in the manganese oxides was converted into exchangeable and dilute-acid-soluble forms, which suggests that soil sterilization may increase the availability of these heavy metals to plants. 相似文献

Experiments were conducted with two typical paddy soils from China and a vermiculite to study the influence of iron oxides on the fixation and release of ammonium. Removing iron oxides, especially amorphous iron oxides, from the soils favoured the release of non-exchangeable NH4-N and stimulated the fixation of NH4-N in the presence of added (NH4)2SO4. Addition of artificial goethite and hematite to the original soils or to the soils free of iron oxides reduced the fixation of NH4+-ions. This effect was also observed with vermiculite. We conclude that the coating of clay minerals with iron oxides has an impact on the diffusion of NH4+-ions into and out of the interlayers of the clay minerals. The reduction and dissolution of iron oxides induced by low redox potential (Eh) after flooding of paddy soils is assumed to be an important mechanism controlling NH4+-fixation in paddy fields. 相似文献

The various iron fractions were quantified by selective dissolution (Fed, Feo, Fet) in four Red Mediterranean soils, developed on metarhyolite and metadolerite. They were similar in all profiles. A strong trend of iron removal from the surface horizon and of its subsequent illuvial translocation to the argillic horizons was observed. In all profiles, Feo was not related to the organic matter content indicating the Mediterranean xeric soil environment. The Feo/Fed ratio and the percentage of crystalline iron oxides (Fed-Feo) suggested that the pedoenvironment in which the profiles P1, P2 were formed, allowed the high crystallization of iron oxides. As indicated by the Fed/Fet values, the weathering process was more intense in the metarhyolite-developed soils. In contrast, the metadolerite-developed soils present conditions of poorly crystallized iron oxides and a lower degree of development. 相似文献

以浙江不同耕作年限水田和旱地为研究对象,探讨了植稻年限对土壤铁锰氧化物的影响,并揭示了水稻土发育过程中铁锰氧化物的剖面运移规律和诊断意义。结果表明:①土壤剖面中,全Fe、游离Fe及全Mn的变异随着种稻时间的延长而增大。种植达到一定年限时,全Fe、全Mn以及游离Fe在土壤剖面下层出现淀积。在各种铁锰氧化物中,对水稻土最具诊断意义的是游离Fe和全Fe。②无定形Fe以及络合态Fe、Mn与有机质呈显著正相关。植稻年限对它们的影响是通过对有机质的影响达到的。 相似文献

Iron and manganese oxides are common components of soils. They frequently occur in nodules constituting important soil sorbents and play a crucial role in a number of chemical reactions in the soil environment. In addition, the oxides are very sensitive to environmental changes (moisture, pH, Eh) constituting important indicators of soil-forming processes and water movement in the landscape. The objectives of the study were: i) to examine the distribution and size of Fe-Mn nodules in Albeluvisols containing a fragipan horizon; ii) to determine the morphology and chemical composition of the nodules, and iii) to estimate the effect of the fragipan horizon on water movement within the soil profile. An investigation was carried out on five soil profiles containing a fragipan horizon and classified as Fragic Albeluvisols within the Carpathian Foothills in Poland. In the Albeluvisols studied, the maximum concentration of Fe-Mn nodules occurred in the horizon lying directly on the fragipan horizon. This suggests that the pan acts as a natural barrier restricting water infiltration and leads to the seasonal development of a perched water table promoting redox processes. The most common are coarse (1--0.5 mm) and medium (0.5--0.25 mm) irregular Fe-Mn nodules showing a gradual boundary and undifferentiated internal fabric. Eluvial horizons contained also larger amounts of round and dense nodules with a sharp boundary, suggesting frequent oxidation and reduction. The fragipan horizon contained mainly irregular and soft nodules, suggesting longer saturation with water during the year. Concentrations of trace elements (Cu, Zn) and P were higher within Fe-Mn nodules than in the surrounding soil materials, showing that iron and manganese oxides adsorbed and immobilised these elements. 相似文献

异化铁还原是厌氧环境中有机物降解的重要微生物过程,不仅影响Cr、U等无机污染物在环境中的迁移,还与CH4、N2O、H2S等温室气体的释放关系密切.本文选择7个旱作褐土样品,采用泥浆厌氧恒温培养的方法,研究了旱作褐土中氧化铁的厌氧还原特征,结果表明旱作褐土在淹水条件下可以发生铁氧化物的异化还原,其还原潜势介于4.47~5.95 mg g-1之间,还原速率常数介于0.15 ~0.27 d-1之间.褐土中部分晶态铁氧化物可在这一过程中被还原,游离铁的平均还原率为41.95%.经过40 d厌氧培养后,99.26%的NO3-和88.82%的SO42-被还原.还原过程的速率常数κ、Vmax、Tmax随着土壤有机碳含量增加而增加,还原潜势与土壤SO42-含量呈显著负相关关系. 相似文献

乙酸是甲烷产生过程的重要底物,其在水稻土中的矿化和转化过程对水稻土碳循环和固碳减排具有重要意义。在长期淹水的水稻土中,铁作为重要的变价金属元素,对乙酸的矿化和转化可能具有重要影响。因此,本研究向水稻土中添加13C-乙酸、水铁矿和针铁矿,动态监测厌氧培养(100 d)期间CO2和CH4排放规律和土壤环境因子的变化规律,同时分析乙酸的矿化和转化特征以及CO2和CH4的激发效应,并解析不同铁氧化物在其中的作用效应。结果表明,培养结束后,只添加乙酸的处理中33%和36%的乙酸分别矿化为CH4和CO2,另外0.12%、2%和28%的乙酸分别形成了可溶性有机碳(DOC)、微生物量碳(MBC)和土壤有机碳(SOC)。乙酸添加引起了CO2负激发效应和CH4正激发效应。土壤产生CO2和CH4比例因乙酸的添加由3.46:1变为1.83:1。针铁矿的添加显著增加了乙酸来源的CO2累积排放量,但水铁矿对乙酸来源的CO2累积排放量却无显著影响。水铁矿和针铁矿均显著降低了SOC来源的CO2累积排放量,加剧了乙酸引起的CO2负激发效应。水铁矿和针铁矿均显著降低了乙酸来源的CH4累积排放量,对SOC来源的CH4累积排放量无显著影响。水铁矿和针铁矿显著增加了乙酸转化为MBC和SOC的比例。因此,乙酸在土壤中的矿化和转化行为会影响土壤原有有机碳产生CO2和CH4;水铁矿和针铁矿结晶程度不同,对乙酸的矿化、转化及其激发效应的影响也不同。研究结果可为稻田的固碳减排提供一定的理论依据和技术支撑。 相似文献

对河北省主要土壤类型耕层硫含量进行了分析测定。结果表明 ,河北省土壤全硫平均含量为 250.1mg/kg(50~940mg/kg)。土壤全硫平均含量以沼泽土最高 ,灰色森林土最低 ;土壤有效硫平均含量为 46.1mg/kg ,以沼泽土最高 ,红粘土和栗褐土最低。土壤硫主要以有机态存在 ,占全硫含量的 81.6% ;无机态硫占 18.4%。按土类划分土壤无机硫含量最高的是沼泽土 ,灰色森林土最低 ;土壤有机硫含量也以沼泽土最高 ,灰色森林土最低。土壤全硫含量主要受土壤有机质含量、阳离子代换量和土壤碳酸钙含量的影响。根据土壤硫供应水平计算 ,全省约有20.4%的土壤缺硫 ,北部缺硫面积较大 ,南部缺硫面积较小。根据土壤有效硫含量多寡 ,可把全省土壤硫含量划分为极缺乏区、缺乏区、中等区、丰富区及极丰富区 5类 相似文献

Abstract The Earlirose cultivar of rice (Oryza sativa L.) grown in calcareous Hacienda loam soil was extremely Fe deficient. The Fe deficiency was corrected by premixing 40 ppm Fe (as FeSO4) into the soil before transplanting plants. The Fe deficiency appeared to be induced by high plant levels of Cu and Mn. Addition of Zn (40 ppm as ZnSO4) intensified the Fe deficiency. The Fe addition did not overcome the effect of the Zn. BPDS (bathophenanthroline disulfonate), a chelator of Fe++, had little effect on the results. 相似文献

We examined the relationship between the form of iron and the tillability (defined as the degree of ease of pulverizing a soil into small clods) of soils in upland fields that had been converted from paddy fields. The amount of iron (Fe.e) extractable with acetate buffer (pH 3.0) decreased from 0.959 g kg-1 in a field that has been continuously used as a paddy field to 0.104 g kg-I in a field that had been converted into an upland field for a period of 5 y. There was no significant change in the free iron oxide content under upland conditions. These results indicate that ferric iron oxides are gradually crystallized to less reactive forms after the conversion of a paddy field into upland conditions. Both soil tillability (represented by the mean clod diameter after tillage) and the stability of the soil microstructure (represented by the sediment volume) also increased during the 3-y period after conversion and then remained constant for the last 2-y period of the study. On the basis of these results, two mechanisms for the improvement of soil tillability can be proposed as follows: crystallization of ferric iron oxides increased their resistance to microbiological reduction and due to this stabilization the iron oxides as a cementing reagent that contributed to the soil microstructure, which in turn affected the soil tillability. During the first year after drainage, however, there was no significant correlation between the soil tillability and amount of Feac, presumably because the soil was not sufficiently dry in the first year after conversion, and the iron oxides did not affect appreciably the soil structure. 相似文献

A leaching experiment using a mixture of five REE oxides and gravelly, sandy loam soils was conducted to examine the applicability of the REE oxides as a sediment tracer for coarse-textured soils. The experiment showed little leaching of the oxides and an enrichment of various size classes of soil particles with the oxides, which reflected the strong binding capability of the REE oxides with the gravelly, sandy loam soils. It also showed that the REE oxides preferentially bound with small size classes of soil particles. The preferential binding of the REE oxides with fine materials will cause the overestimation of the soil loss from a given area (i.e., tagged with a given REE) if aggregates are broken down during sediment transport and clay materials are preferentially delivered, and if the soil loss is computed by analyzing the REE concentrations in the whole sediment. To address the non-uniform binding issue, the method based on measuring the REE concentrations for four particle size groups was tested. The potential error of the method was evaluated by comparing the soil loss that would be computed in the case that the particle size distribution was shifted to the smallest particle size class within a particle size group and in the case that no sediment sorting occurred. The result showed that the method would produce a potential error of approximately 4% in the estimation of the total soil loss when sediment sorting occurred. The non-uniform binding of the oxides does not preclude the use of the REE oxides on the coarse-textured soils in the presence of non-uniform binding of the oxides, but adjustments in the technique are required for an accurate estimation of soil loss using the REE technique. 相似文献

Zinc(Zn) is essential to plant growth and relatively mobile in soils.This study was conducted to assess the effect of common ions(Ca 2+,K +,Na +,NH + 4,Cl,NO 3,and H 2 PO 4) on sorption of Zn in surface samples of ten calcareous soils from western Iran using 10 mmol L 1 KCl,KNO 3,KH 2 PO 4,Ca(NO 3) 2,NaNO 3,and NH 4 NO 3 solutions as background electrolytes.The results indicated that both NH + 4,K +,and Ca 2+ equally decreased Zn sorption as compared to Na +.Zinc sorption was decreased by H 2 PO 4 as compared to NO 3 and Cl.The Langmuir and Freundlich equations fitted closely to the sorption data of all ions.The Langmuir maximum,bonding energy constant,and Freundlich distribution coefficient for Zn sorption differed among the various ionic background electrolytes.Langmuir sorption parameters showed that the presence of H 2 PO 4 decreased the maximum Zn adsorbed,but increased the bonding energy.Although K + and NH + 4 equally influenced maximum Zn adsorbed,they differed in their effect on the distribution coefficient of Zn in soils.Values of saturation index calculated using Visual MINTEQ indicated that at the low Zn concentration,Zn solubility was controlled by sorption reactions and at the high Zn concentration,it was mainly controlled by sorption and mineral precipitation reactions,such as precipitation of Zn 3(PO 4) 2.4H 2 O,Zn 5(OH) 6(CO 3) 2,and ZnCO 3.For most ionic background electrolytes,soil pH,CaCO 3,and cation exchange capacity(CEC) were significantly correlated with sorption parameters. 相似文献

Previous pot cropping and laboratory incubation experiments were consistent with field observations showing that temporary flooding before cropping can increase the availability of soil Fe to plants. To study the effect of temporary flooding on changes in soil Fe phytoavailability we used 24 highly calcareous, Fe chlorosis–inducing soils to carry out a pot experiment where peanut and chickpea were successively grown after flooding for 30 d. At the end of the cropping experiment, the preflooded soil samples exhibited higher concentrations of acid oxalate‐, citrate/ascorbate‐ and diethylenetriaminepentacetic acid (DTPA)–extractable Fe (Feox, Feca, and FeDTPA, respectively) than the control (nonflooded) samples. Also, Feox and Feca exhibited no change by effect of reflooding of the cropped soils or three wetting–drying cycles in freeze‐dried slurries of soils previously incubated anaerobically for several weeks. Leaf chlorophyll concentration (LCC) in both peanut and chickpea was greatly increased by preflooding. The best predictor for LCC was Feox, followed by Feca and FeDTPA. The LCC–soil Fe relationships found suggest that the Fe species extracted by oxalate and citrate/ascorbate from preflooded soils were more phytoavailable than those extracted from control soils. However, the increased phytoavailability of extractable Fe forms was seemingly limited to the first crop (peanut). Flooding dramatically increased FeDTPA; however, high FeDTPA levels did not result in high LCC values, particularly in the second crop.
