Abstract

Results of 240 annual N fertilizer trials in 1991–2007 in spring and winter cereals are presented. On average, spring barley and oat yields increased little beyond 120 kg N ha?1 in fertilizer. Somewhat higher figures were found for spring and winter wheat. Regression equations for yield and N uptakes in grain and straw were derived, related to N fertilizer input and the yield level in individual trials (indicator of yield expectancy). These equations accounted for 90% of the variation in yield and 80% of that in N uptake. Quadratic N responses were significant in all cases, as were interactions between N responses and yield level. They were verified with data from 27 separate trials performed in 2008–2010. The yield equations were used to calculate economically optimum N fertilizer levels with varying ratios of product price to fertilizer cost at contrasting levels of yield. The optimum N fertilizer level for barley and oats was found to increase by 8.3 kg N ha?1 per Mg increase in expected yield. The equivalent figure in wheat was 16.3 kg N ha?1. Optimum N fertilizer levels decreased by 4.1 and 6.7 kg N ha?1, for barley/oats and wheat respectively, per unit increase in the cost/price ratio. The equations for N uptake were used to calculate simple N balances between fertilizer input and removal in crop products. Large N surpluses were indicated at low levels of yield expectancy, but the surplus declined markedly with increasing yield level, despite greater N fertilizer inputs at high yield. Calculations made for national average yield levels in recent years showed N surpluses of 50–60 kg N ha?1 when only grain is removed and 25–40 kg N ha?1 when straw is removed also. Limiting N input to obtain zero balance reduces yields considerably at average levels of yield expectancy.  相似文献

中国玉米小麦产量与氮肥利用效率同步提高的研究进展   总被引:20,自引:0,他引:20
Achieving both high yield and high nitrogen use efficiency (NUE) simultaneously has become a major challenge with increased global demand for food, depletion of natural resources, and deterioration of environment. As the greatest consumers of N fertilizer in the world, Chinese farmers have overused N and there has been poor synchrony between crop N demand and N supply because of limited understanding of the N uptake-yield relationship. To address this problem, this study evaluated the total and dynamic N requirement for different yield ranges of two major crops (maize and wheat), and suggested improvements to N management strategies. Whole-plant N aboveground uptake requirement per grain yield (N req) initially deceased with grain yield improvement and then stagnated, and yet most farmers still believed that more fertilizer and higher grain yield were synonymous. When maize yield increased from < 7.5 to > 12.0 Mg ha-1, Nreq decreased from 19.8 to 17.0 kg Mg-1 grain. For wheat, it decreased from 27.1 kg Mg-1 grain for grain yield < 4.5 Mg ha-1 to 22.7 kg Mg-1 grain for yield > 9.0 Mg ha-1. Meanwhile, the percentage of dry matter and N accumulation in the middle-late growing season increased significantly with grain yield, which indicated that N fertilization should be concentrated in the middle-late stage to match crop demand while farmers often applied the majority of N fertilizer either before sowing or during early growth stages. We accordingly developed an integrated soil-crop system management strategy that simultaneously increases both grain yield and NUE.  相似文献

Mucuna has been tested intensively in past years as green manure for intensive maize production in West Africa. However, information is missing about the yield effect of different existing mucuna varieties. Five Mucuna pruriens varieties were grown for 40 weeks followed by sole maize (Zea mays L.) in order to determine differences in biomass production, nitrogen fixation, and effects on maize yield. Mucuna varieties differed in length of growing period, total biomass production (5.9—8.8 Mg ha—1), seed production (0.65—1.3 Mg ha—1), nitrogen (N) uptake (147—222 kg ha—1), N fixation (87—171 kg ha—1), and the amount of N retained in residues (138—218 kg ha—1). The grain yield of maize grown immediately after the short mucuna fallow was significantly higher after mucuna vars. jaspaeda (4.60 Mg ha—1), utilis (3.49 Mg ha—1), and cochinchinensis (3.44 Mg ha—1), compared with a non‐fertilized control (1.93 Mg ha—1) which had a maize crop and vegetation regrowth before. After mucuna vars. ghana and veracruz, 2.90 and 2.65 Mg ha—1 of maize grain were produced, respectively. No significant correlation between mucuna biomass and its N uptake and maize grain yield was found, whereas maize stover yield showed a significant positive correlation. Application of 30, 60, and 90 kg ha—1 N as <?tw=98%>urea on sub‐plots of the control yielded 2.20, 3.19, and 3.46 Mg ha—1 <?tw>of maize grain in the first year. Only the difference between 0 and 90 kg ha—1 N was significant. Fertilizer N equivalent values for mucuna varieties ranged from 41 to 148 kg ha—1. The yield advantage of vars. jaspaeda, utilis, and cochinchinensis versus the control without N fertilizer application was confirmed in the following year, with no significant difference in maize grain yield between mucuna and the control with N fertilizer application.<?show $6#>  相似文献

Yield and N uptake of tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) and pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) crops in five successive rotations receiving two compound fertilizers (12-12-17 and 21-8-11 N-P2O5-K2O) were studied to determine 1) crop responses, 2) dynamics of NO3-N and NH4-N in different soil layers, 3) N balance and 4) system-level N efficiencies. Five treatments (2 fertilizers, 2 fertilizer rates and a control), each with three replicates, were arranged in the study. The higher N fertilizer rate, 300 kg N ha-1 (versus 150 kg N ha-1), returned higher vegetable fruit yields and total aboveground N uptake with the largest crop responses occurring for the low-N fertilizer (12-12-17) applied at 300 kg N ha-1 rather than with the high-N fertilizer (21-8-11). Ammonium-N in the top 90 cm of the soil profile declined during the experiment, while nitrate-N remained at a similar level throughout the experiment with the lower rate of fertilizer N. At the higher rate of N fertilizer there was a continuous NO3-N accumulation of over 800 kg N ha-1. About 200 kg N ha-1 was applied with irrigation to each crop using NO3-contaminated groundwater. In general, about 50% of the total N input was recovered from all treatments. Pepper, relative to tomato, used N more efficiently with smaller N losses, but the crops utilized less than 29% of the fertilizer N over the two and a half-year period. Local agricultural practices maintained high residual soil nutrient status. Thus, optimization of irrigation is required to minimize nitrate leaching and maximize crop N recovery.  相似文献

Subsoil acidity restricts root growth and reduces crop yields in many parts of the world. More than half of the fertilizer nitrogen(N) applied in crop production is currently lost to the environment. This study aimed to investigate the effect of gypsum application on the efficiency of N fertilizer in no-till corn(Zea mays L.) production in southern Brazil. A field experiment examined the effects of surface-applied gypsum(0, 5, 10, and 15 Mg ha~(-1)) and top-dressed ammonium nitrate(NH_4NO_3)(60, 120, and 180 kg N ha~(-1)) on corn root length, N uptake, and grain yield. A greenhouse experiment was conducted using undisturbed soil columns collected from the field experiment site to evaluate NO_3-N leaching, N uptake, and root length with surface-applied gypsum(0 and 10 Mg ha~(-1)) and top-dressed NH_4NO_3(0 and 180 kg N ha~(-1)). Amelioration of subsoil acidity due to gypsum application increased corn root growth,N uptake, grain yield, and N use efficiency. Applying gypsum to the soil surface increased corn grain yield by 19%–38% and partial factor productivity of N(PFPN) by 27%–38%, depending on the N application rate. Results of the undisturbed soil column greenhouse experiment showed that improvement of N use efficiency by gypsum application was due to the higher N uptake from NO_3-N in the subsoil as a result of increased corn root length. Our results suggest that ameliorating subsoil acidity with gypsum in a no-till corn system could increase N use efficiency, improve grain yield, and reduce environmental risks due to NO_3-N leaching.  相似文献

Nitrogen fixation in faba bean (Vicia faba cv. Mesay) as affected by sulfur (S) fertilization (30 kg S ha–1) and inoculation under the semi‐arid conditions of Ethiopia was studied using the 15N‐isotope dilution method. The effect of faba bean–fixed nitrogen (N) on yield of the subsequent wheat crop (Triticum aestivum L.) was also assessed. Sulfur fertilization and inoculation significantly (p < 0.05) affected nodulation at late flowering stage for both 2004 and 2005 cropping seasons. The nodule number and nodule fresh weighs were increased by 53% and 95%, relative to the control. Similarly, both treatments (S fertilization and inoculants) significantly improved biomass and grain yield of faba bean on average by 2.2 and 1.2 Mg ha–1. This corresponds to 37% and 50% increases, respectively, relative to the control. Total N and S uptake of grains was significantly higher by 59.6 and 3.3 kg ha–1, which are 76% and 66% increases, respectively. Sulfur and inoculation enhanced the percentage of N derived from the atmosphere in the whole plant of faba bean from 51% to 73%. This corresponds to N2 fixation varying from 49 to 147 kg N ha–1. The percentage of N derived from fertilizer (%Ndff) and soil (%Ndfs) of faba bean varied from 4.3% to 2.8 %, and from 45.1% to 24.0%, corresponding to the average values of 5.1 and 47.9 kg N ha–1. Similarly, the %Ndff and %Ndfs of the reference crop, barley, varied from 8.5 % to 10.8% and from 91.5% to 89.2%, with average N yields of 9.2 and 84.3 kg N ha–1. Soil N balance after faba bean ranged from 13 to 52 kg N ha–1. Beneficial effects of faba bean on yield of a wheat crop grown after faba bean were highly significant, increasing the average grain and N yields of this crop by 1.11 Mg ha–1 and 30 kg ha–1, relative to the yield of wheat grown after the reference crop, barley. Thus, it can be concluded that faba bean can be grown as an alternative crop to fallow, benefiting farmers economically and increasing the soil fertility.  相似文献

Ustochrept soil was collected from a major potato-growing area in Pakistan for a potassium (K) adsorption isotherm experiment. Adsorption data were fitted to Freundlich and Langmuir adsorption models. Results showed that the Freundlich model (R2?=?0.96**) fit the data better than did the Langmuir model. Fertilizer rates were calculated based on the Freundlich model and targeted solution K levels at 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, and 27 mg K L?1. A field experiment was then conducted on the soil to assess the effect of various soil solution K levels (0–27 mg L?1, with K fertilizer rates at 0, 24, 49, 75, 101, 128, 155, 182, 210, and 237 kg ha?1), on tuber yield and quality along with 300 kg N and 250 kg P2O5 ha?1 as basal doses. Yield response models (linear plus plateau, quadratic, square root, quadratic plus plateau, and exponential) were used to calculate the optimal fertilizer rate for potato crop. Linear plus plateau model fit the data with less bias than the other models. There was a significant effect of K use on the yield and quality of potatoes. Potassium fertilizer application at 130 kg K ha?1, which is equivalent to a soil solution level of 12 mg K L?1, maximized the tuber yield of potato. However, for the improvement in tuber dry matter, reducing sugars, protein contents, and starch contents, the soil solution K level required was as high as14.62 mg L?1 (157 kg ha?1). Even greater rate of K, 17.74 mg L?1 (190 kg ha?1), was needed to maximize vitamin C content in potato.  相似文献

Abstract

Factorial combinations of N, P and K fertilizer have been compared with the use of farmyard manure at M?ystad since 1922 in a seven-year crop rotation (3 ley, oat, potato, wheat, barley). Until 1982, low inputs of N fertilizer (22 kg ha?1) were used. In 1983, they were brought into line with current farming practice. This paper presents the results of three subsequent rotations. Yields without any fertilizer were on average 48% of those with 100 kg N ha?1 in compound fertilizer, whilst those with 20, 40 and 60 Mg ha?1 farmyard manure were 81, 87 and 90%, respectively. Yields with other combinations of N, P and K declined in the order NP, NK, N, PK and K. When NPK fertilizer was used, apparent recoveries of applied fertilizer were close to 50% for N and K, and around 40% for P. Much lower values were found for nutrients applied singly. Balance between N supply and removal was indicated at rates of about 60 kg N fertilizer ha?1 in potatoes, 75 kg ha?1 in cereals and 90 kg ha?1 in leys. A surplus of P was found in all crops at all N levels, and of K in cereals and potatoes. In leys, K balance was achieved with an N supply of 90 kg N ha?1. Nutrient balance was indicated at a little below 20 Mg ha?1 yr?1 farmyard manure. Larger manure applications gave large nutrient surpluses, particularly of N. Soil reaction remained close to neutral with the use of calcium nitrate and manure, but declined with the use of ammonium nitrate. Manure use gave the highest amounts of available P, K and Mg in soil. Similar increases in total inorganic P were found with manure use as with fertilizer use, but amounts of organic P and total K were little affected.  相似文献

China has the world''s highest nitrogen (N) application rate, and the lowest N use efficiency (NUE). With the crop yield increasing, serious N pollution is also caused. An in-situ field experiment (2011-2015) was conducted to examine the effects of three N levels, 0 (i.e., no fertilizer N addition to soil), 120, and 180 kg N ha-1, using integrated rice management (IRM). We investigated rice yield, aboveground N uptake, and soil surface N budget in a hilly region of Southwest China. Compared to traditional rice management (TRM), IRM integrated raised beds, plastic mulch, furrow irrigation, and triangular transplanting, which significantly improved rice grain yield, straw biomass, aboveground N uptake, and NUE. Integrated rice management significantly improved 15N recovery efficiency (by 10%) and significantly reduced the ratio of potential 15N loss (by 8%-12%). Among all treatments, the 120 kg N ha-1 level under IRM achieved the highest 15N recovery efficiency (32%) and 15N residual efficiency (29%), with the lowest 15N loss ratio (39%). After rice harvest, the residual N fertilizer did not achieve a full replenishment of soil N consumption, as the replenishing effect was insufficient (ranging from -31 to -49 kg N ha-1). Furthermore, soil surface N budget showed a surplus (69-146 kg N ha-1) under all treatments, and the N surplus was lower under IRM than TRM. These results indicate IRM as a reliable and stable method for high rice yield and high NUE, while exerting a minor risk of N loss. In the hilly area of Southwest China, the optimized N fertilizer application rate under IRM was found to be 100-150 kg N ha-1.  相似文献

The effects of cultivating and incorporating residues of previous tropical kudzu (Pueraria phaseoloides) and soybean (Glycine max) with application of NPK fertilizer on yam performance were evaluated at the teaching and research farm, LAUTECH, Nigeria. There were nine treatments: incorporation of legume residues (5 t DM ha?1), application of recommended fertilizer rate for yam (90–50–75 kg NPK ha?1) in the zone or 50% of recommended rate (45–25–37.5 kg NPK ha?1), alone and in combination with residues and a control without residues or fertilizer in a randomized complete block design. Cultivation of previous legumes reduced soil nematode population (>200%) compared with no legumes. For both years, application of Pueraria residues improved tuber yield by an average of 15.8% compared with control. Fertilizer application enhanced arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) colonization of yam roots but AM colonization was lower (~50%) in plots where Pueraria residues were incorporated compared with other plots. Combined application of plant residues with fertilizer improved soil organic carbon, total N, exchangeable Ca and Mg compared with application of NPK fertilizer. From these results, it is concluded that half of the recommended NPK rate may be adequate and incorporation of residues with reduced NPK fertilizer application may be a sustainable soil fertility management option for continuous yam production.  相似文献

Four factorial trials were conducted with yam (Dioscorea rotundata Poir.) at Ibadan, Nigeria from 2013 to 2015, investigating effects of (1) tillage (2) fertilizer (3) intercropping (4) yam plant densities. Yam tuber yields varied between years (2013: 16.44 Mg ha?1; 2014: 10.08 Mg ha?1; 2015 26.61 Mg ha?1). In 2013 neither tillage nor fertilizer affected tuber yields. In 2014 tillage increased yields (+25.4%, P < 0.0001), fertilizer reduced yield (?10.5%; P = 0.0046). In 2015 tillage increased tuber yields by 8.1% (ns), fertilizer application increased yield (+17.5%, P = 0.0017). Across the years, tuber yields increased (P < 0.01) with increasing yam density with a constant increase in 2013 up to the highest density, yet yields leveled out above 14,815 plants ha?1 in 2014 and 2015. Intercropping with maize (66,667 plants ha?1) reduced tuber yield by 42.62% in 2013, 44.52% in 2014 and 30.68% in 2015 (P < 0.01 all years) across all yam densities. Maize grain yield was higher in sole crop in 2 years. Fertilizer increased yields in all years (P < 0.0001). Maize yield had no response to the yam densities. Ridging had a negative effect on grain yield in 2015 (?0.3 Mg ha?1, P = 0.0002). Increasing plant density appears a safe measure to increase yam yields.  相似文献

The irrigation and nitrogen (N) requirements of potatoes (cv. Delaware) were determined using sprinklers in a line‐source design on a Spearwood sand. Irrigation water was applied at 73 to 244% of the daily pan evaporation (Epan) and N at 0 to 800 kg N ha‐1 (total applied) as NH4NO3 in 10 applications post‐planting. There was a significant yield (total and marketable) response to irrigation, at all levels of applied N, and N at all levels of applied water (P<0.001). The interaction between irrigation and N was also significant (P<0.001). There was no significant yield response to irrigation from 149% Epan (i.e., W3 treatment) to 244% Epan (i.e., W6 treatment). Irrigation at 125 and 150% of Epan was required for 95 and 99% of maximum yield, respectively, as determined from fitted Mitscherlich relationships. Critical levels of N required for 95 (417 kg ha‐1) and 99% (703 kg ha‐1) of maximum yield were also determined from a Mitschlerlich relationship fitted to the average of the W3 to W6 treatments. The percent total N and nitrate‐N in petioles of youngest fully expanded leaves required for 95 and 99% of maximum yield was 1.78 and 2.11, respectively, at the 10 mm tuber stage, and 0.25 and 0.80% at the 10mm plus 14 day stage (from quadratic regressions). There was a significant (P≤0.001) increase in N uptake by tubers with level of applied N from 57 kg ha‐1 at 0 kg applied N ha‐1 to 190 kg ha‐1 at 800 kg applied N ha‐1 (from a Mitscherlich relationship fitted to the average of W3 to W6 treatments). After accounting for N uptake from soil reserves (57 kg N ha‐1), apparent recovery efficiency (RE) of fertilizer N by tubers [RE=(Up‐Uo/Np) where Up=uptake of N by the crop, Uo=uptake in absence of applied N and Np is the level of applied N, expressed as a fraction] declined from 0.28 at 100 kg applied N ha‐1 to 0.17 at 800 kg applied N ha‐1. There was a linear increase in ‘after cooking darkening’ (i.e., greying) of tubers with increasing level of applied N. Conversely, ‘sloughing’ (i.e., disintegration) of tubers decreased (inverse polynomial) with increasing level of applied N. Rate of irrigation had no effect on these cooking qualities. Reducing applied irrigation and N from levels required for 99% of maximum yield to levels required for 95% of maximum yield would not lead to a significant reduction in profit. This would increase apparent recovery efficiency of applied N by plants, maintain tuber quality, and reduce the impact of potato production on the water systems of the Swan coastal plain.  相似文献

A long-term experiment was carried out on a Vertisol from 1986 to 1992 to examine the combined effects of NPK fertilizers on yield using sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench cv. CSH 5) and short-duration pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan L. Millsp. cv. ICPL 87). The fertilizer treatments were as follows: 0 (no fertilization), N (150 kg N ha-1 ), P (65.5 kg P2O5 ha-1), K (124.5 kg K2O ha-1), and all possible combinations (NP, NK, PK, and NPK). In this study we continued this experiment during the period 1993 to 1994 and analyzed the crop yield response to fertilizers and the N balance. The amount of N derived from the atmosphere and fertilizer was estimated by the 15N natural abundance method and l5N isotope dilution method, respectively. A combined application of Nand P fertilizers gave the highest grain yield for the two crops under the 8th and 9th continuous croppings, unlike the application of K fertilizer. The values of total N for the two crops were significantly higher in the NP and NPK plots. These crops took up N mainly from soil. There was a significant positive relationship between the uptake of Ndff and Ndfs by each crop. Pigeonpea or sorghum took up more N from the soil in the N fertilizer plots than in the plots without N, suggesting that soil N fertility was enhanced and the amount of N supplied from soil increased in the plots with consecutive application of N fertilizer for 7 y. Even pigeonpea, which fixes atmospheric N inherently, needed N fertilizer to achieve high grain yield, suggesting that N fixation by the nodules was not always sufficient to meet the N requirements of the crop under these conditions. Although fertilizer N exerted a beneficial effect on plant growth and yield in the two crops, the values of fertilizer N recovery (FNR) by the two crops were considerably low. Therefore, it is suggested that the development of N fertilizer management which could maximize FNR of each crop should be promoted.  相似文献

Tuber yield and nitrogen uptake in potatoes were recorded during 1996 and 1997 in Southern Bavaria. Recovery of applied fertilizer nitrogen was measured by using 15N (15NH415NO3). Nitrogen fertilizer was brought out either broadcast or in the ridge; 150 kg N ha−1 were applied either at planting or in split doses of 50 kg N ha−1 (at planting, emergence and at 20-cm plant height). Due to unfavorable conditions, tuber yield and fertilizer N recovery were lower in 1996 as compared with 1997. Fertilizer N recovery in plant biomass (tuber and foliage) ranged from 35.9% to 68.5% at growth stage EC 79; the main fraction was allocated to tubers. Placement of fertilizer N in the ridge had a positive effect on N recovery, when the total N amount was applied at planting. In broadcast application, fertilizer N recovery was higher when the fertilizer doses were split, as compared with a single broadcast application at planting. When fertilizer N was applied in split doses, the effect of N placement became negligibly small. Fertilizer N recovery in soil ranged from 19.5% to 24.6%, and total recovery ranged from 60.1% to 88.0%. Rainfall between planting and plant emergence, and conditions restricting plant development in early developmental stages were related with unaccounted fertilizer N losses. Therefore, the positive effects of split N applications or fertilizer placement are most likely to occur under unfavorable growing conditions.  相似文献

Management of N is the key for sustainable and profitable wheat production in a low N soil. We report results of irrigated crop rotation experiment, conducted in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Pakistan, during 1999–2002 to evaluate effects of residue retention, fertilizer N application and mung bean (Vigna radiata) on crop and N yields of wheat and soil organic fertility in a mung bean–wheat sequence. Treatments were (a) crop residue retained (+residue) or (b) removed (−residue), (c) 120 kg N ha−1 applied to wheat, (d) 160 kg N ha−1 to maize or (e) no nitrogen applied. The cropping system was rotation of wheat with maize or wheat with mung bean. The experiment was laid out in a spit plot design. Postharvest incorporation of crop residues significantly (p < 0.05) increased the grain and straw yields of wheat during both years. On average, crop residues incorporation increased the wheat grain yield by 1.31 times and straw yield by 1.39 times. The wheat crop also responded strongly to the previous legume (mung bean) in terms of enhanced grain yield by 2.09 times and straw yield by 2.16 times over the previous cereal (maize) treatment. Application of fertilizer N to previous maize exerted strong carry over effect on grain (1.32 times) and straw yield (1.38 times) of the following wheat. Application of N fertilizer to current wheat produced on average 1.59 times more grain and 1.77 times more straw yield over the 0 N kg ha−1 treatment. The N uptake in wheat grain and straw was increased 1.31 and 1.64 times by residues treatment, 2.08 and 2.49 times by mung bean and 1.71 and 1.86 times by fertilizer N applied to wheat, respectively. The soil mineral N was increased 1.23 times by residues, 1.34 times by mung bean and 2.49 times by the application of fertilizer N to wheat. Similarly, the soil organic C was increased 1.04-fold by residues, 1.08 times by mung bean and 1.00 times by the application of fertilizer N. We concluded that retention of residues, application of fertilizer N and involvement of legumes in crop rotation greatly improves the N economy of the cropping system and enhances crop productivity in low N soils.  相似文献

Biochar is a co-product of pyrolysis. To find the effects of biochar on crop production, a field study was conducted in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Treatments were arranged in a split-plot design. The main plot treatments were biochar at rates of 0, 4.5, 18 Mg ha?1. Sub-plot treatments were nitrogen (N) rates of 0, 56, 112, 224 kg N ha?1 as urea (46–0–0). These treatments were applied to a continuous corn cropping system. Soil samples were planned to be taken during the first eight weeks of the growing season and after harvest to measure ammonium–N (NH4 +–N) and nitrate–N (NO3 ?–N). Nitrogen in the plant and grain was measured along with grain yield and plant biomass. There was no difference in the yield due to the addition of biochar or the interaction of biochar and N fertilizer, but there were differences due to the N fertilizer alone.  相似文献

A potato field experiment was conducted for 2 consecutive years to determine the effects of nitrogen (N) and potassium (K) fertilization rates on the yield and quality of potato cv. Spunta cultivated on soil low in N and K. A 3?×?4 complete factorial experiment was used with three rates of nitrogen (330, 495, and 660 kg N ha–1) and four rates of potassium (112, 225, 450, and 675 kg K2Ο ha–1). An additional treatment without fertilization was used as the control. On soils low in N and K, potatoes showed low yield response to K fertilizer. The greatest tuber yields for both years were achieved at 495 kg N ha–1 and 112 kg K2O ha–1 (29.81 t ha–1) and 225 kg ha–1 (27.13 t ha–1), respectively. Differences in mean fresh weight due to treatment application were not significant. Application of 495 kg N ha–1 significantly reduced harvest index (the ratio of tuber dry weight to the total dry weight at harvest) compared to 330 kg N ha–1, but at 660 kg N ha–1 harvest index achieved the greatest significant value. Potassium fertilization had no significant influence on harvest index. Nitrogen rates positively influenced the number of tubers. The addition of 450 kg K2O ha–1 significantly enhanced the number of tubers compared to the lower K rates, and the number was significantly decreased by the application of 675 kg K2O ha–1. Tuber dry-matter concentration was significantly promoted by N fertilization in both cultivation years, but it was negatively affected by K fertilization in the first year of cultivation. There was no change in tuber N with N application, but N application strongly increased nitrate (NO3) concentration, which fluctuated between 360 and 1382 mg kg–1 wet mass. Tuber NO3 was negatively correlated with tuber yield, indicating that high levels of NO3 in tubers can adversely affect yield. Tuber response to K fertilization was not in accordance with the rate of applied nutrient.  相似文献

中国水稻不同产量、品种和种植制度下氮需求量变异状况   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Better understanding of the factors that influence crop nitrogen(N) requirement plays an important role in improving regional N recommendations for rice(Oryza sativa L.) production. We collected data from 1 280 plot-level measurements in different reaches of the Yangtze River, China to determine which factors contributed to variability in N requirement in rice. Yield, variety, and cropping system were significantly related to N requirement. The N requirement remained consistent at about 18.6 kg N Mg~(-1)grain as grain yield increased from 7 to 9 Mg ha~(-1), then decreased to 18.1, 16.9, and 15.9 kg N Mg~(-1)grain as yield increased to 9–10, 10–11, and 11 Mg ha~(-1), respectively. The decreased requirement for N with increasing yield was attributable to declining N concentrations in grain and straw and increased harvest index. Super rice variety had lower N requirement(17.7 kg N Mg~(-1)grain) than ordinary inbred and hybrid varieties(18.5 and 18.3 kg N Mg~(-1)grain, respectively), which was a result of lower grain and straw N concentrations of super rice. The N requirements were 19.2, 17.8, and 17.5 kg N Mg~(-1)grain for early, middle, and late rice cropping systems, respectively. In conclusion, the rice N requirement was affected by multiple factors, including yield, variety, and cropping system, all of which should be considered when planning for optimal N management.  相似文献

The management of fertilizer application is crucial for agricultural production and environmental safety. The objective of this study was to assess the effciency of different fertilization strategies, applying fertilizers with and without nitrification inhibitors(NIs) in split application,in Greece. The assessment criteria used were based on crop yield, soil nitrogen(N)concentrations and economic effciency. For this purpose two crops(winter wheat and cotton)were seffected in order to explore the optimum fertilization strategy for each crop.Three treatments combining fertilizers with NIs were tested compared with conventional fertilization(CF).Slight differences in the quantity and the combination of fertilizers with NIs applied resulted in variable effects on crop yield, soil N and economic return.Split N application of 102 kg ha-1,with half of the total amount applied at seeding, resulted in higher grain yield of winter wheat, lower NO3--N in soil and higher economic return. This result reveals the importance of N application at seeding in wheat crop.Fertilization strategy with 109.5 kg N ha-1 and split P application resulted in higher cotton yield and higher economic profit.Split P application seemed to increase yield, even though it is not a common practise in the area.  相似文献

Abstract

Salinity is a negative abiotic stress that produces drastic disorders on soils and plants causing a critical reduction in plant growth and yield parameters, particularly maize plant, which considers a moderately sensitive plant to soil and water salinity. Although proline and nitrogen are well known to protect plants and improve their tolerance against various abiotic stresses including salinity, the interaction between proline and nitrogen fertilizer under saline conditions remained unclear. Two field experiments were conducted, on a clay saline soil in a split-plot design with four replicates. The main plots were arranged to study the effect of exogenous of proline applications at 0, 50 and 100?mM during seedling and vegetative stages, and mineral of nitrogen fertilization rates were 0, 140, 280, and 420?kg N ha?1 occupied the subplots. A significant response to fertilizer N was observed at 420?kg ha?1, while the optimum N rate of 50?mM of proline was 410.3?kg ha?1 and the economic optimum dose was 403.43?kg ha?1. Therefore, we recommend using 403.43?kg N ha?1 to get an optimum economic yield of maize, especially in saline soil, when used 50?mM exogenous of proline at seedling and vegetative stages.  相似文献
