Three isoproteic (47% protein) diets were formulated to contain graded levels of crude fat (diet D16:16%, diet D24: 24% and diet D32: 32%). Each diet was fed to satiation in three and to 80% satiation in two replicate groups of gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata), having an initial body weight of 72–74 g. The trial lasted 81 days. Groups fed to satiation showed higher final body weight (FBW; 238.8–252.3 g vs. 218.0–229.3 g) and daily growth index (DGI; 2.49–2.65%/day vs. 2.27–2.34%/day) than those fed to 80% satiation. Feed intake was significantly different both for feeding level and for diet composition. Fish fed to satiation had higher feed conversion rate (FCR) compared to the 80% satiation groups (1.33–1.44 vs. 1.13–1.17; P ≤ 0.001). Within satiation groups, FCR was significantly lower in fish fed D16 compared to fish fed D32 (1.33 vs. 1.44, P ≤ 0.05), whereas no statistical differences were found within the 80% satiation groups. The increase in dietary lipid level did not improve growth performance, feed efficiency and protein utilization but decreased gross lipid efficiency. Conversely, a reduction in ration from satiation to 80% satiation decreased DGI, thus improving FCR. Feed costs were influenced by dietary energy level and feeding ratio, the lowest energy diet at 80% satiation being the most profitable combination among the variables.  相似文献

为了探讨高脂肪条件下不同的蛋白和能量水平对斑点叉尾鮰生长及体组成的影响,试验设2个蛋白水平(22%,28%),2个脂肪水平(10.0%,14.0%),2个消化能水平(12.56 kJ/g,14.23 kJ/g),共8组,分别为P28L10E14.23,P28L14E14.23,P22L10E14.23,P22L14E14.23,P28L10E12.56,P28L14E12.56,P22L10E12.56和P22L14E12.56。试验饲料配方使用鱼粉和豆粕调节蛋白含量,混合油脂(鱼油∶玉米油=1∶1)调节脂肪含量,α-淀粉、次粉和麸皮调节消化能含量,并以微晶纤维素为填充物,每组3个重复,每个重复20尾鱼(141.5?1.0) g。饲养60 d后,进行生产性能测定,并采集组织样本,测定相关指标。结果表明,鱼体末重(FW)、增重率(WG)、特定生长率(SGR)和饵料系数(FCR)不受饲料蛋白、脂肪和消化能单一营养水平影响(P>0.05);但与饲料蛋白、脂肪和消化能三者的交互作用(P<0.01)有关。胴体蛋白、脂肪含量与饲料脂肪和消化能水平相关(P<0.05)。由此可见,饲料过高脂肪和消化能对斑点叉尾鮰没有额外的促生长作用;饲料蛋白水平达到22%时,即可满足140~300 g斑点叉尾鮰的营养需要;饲料中22%的蛋白、10%的脂肪、12.56 kJ/g的消化能即可满足斑点叉尾鮰仔鱼的生长需要,同时又能保证其正常生理机能,建议可在实际生产配方中作参考值。  相似文献

An evaluation of the apparent dry matter, crude protein, fat, carbohydrate and energy digestibility coefficients in nine raw and two steam-cooked agrobased by-product pelleted feeds (ratio of reference:test ingredient= 70:30) containing 30-32% crude protein, 3.9-4.3 kcal g?1 energy and 1% chromic oxide was carried out in three species of Indian major carp fingerlings, Catla catla (Hamilton) (length= 4-6cm; weight= 1.5-2.5g), Labeo rohita (Hamilton) (length= 3.9-6.2cm; weight= 1.5-2.7g) and Cirrhinus mrigala (Hamilton) (length= 4.1-6.0cm; weight= 1.6-2.8g). Each dietary treatment had three replicates of 25 fish each. The experimental trial was conducted in 70-L high-density polyvinyl flow-through (1-1.5 Lmin?1) indoor circular troughs (water volume= 55 L). Fish were fed to apparent satiation, twice daily at 0800 and 1600 h. Faecal samples were collected by siphoning daily at 0700 and 1500 h. The results indicated that apparent dry matter, nutrient (protein, fat and carbohydrate) and energy digestibility coefficients varied significantly within each test species (P < 0.05) for the feedstuffs tested. However, with few exceptions, digestibility for an individual ingredient varied insignificantly (P > 0.05) among the three fish species. The present study clearly indicated that feedstuffs rich in carbohydrate and energy are effectively utilized by the fish. The variations observed in dry matter, nutrient and energy digestibility coefficients in these species seemed related to the type and nutrient composition of the feedstuffs. Feedstuffs and test diets with higher levels of fibre and ash showed significantly (P < 0.05) low values for dry matter, nutrient and energy digestibility. Steam-cooking of yellow corn and potato significantly (P<0.05) improved the digestibility coefficients. The findings of the present study are important for the development of low-cost balanced rations which incorporate locally available agro-based by-products for the polyculture of the three species of Indian major carp.  相似文献

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of increasing the carbohydrate to lipid ratio in diets supplemented with Bacillus subtilis in white seabass (Atractoscion nobilis) juveniles on digestibility, growth performance, feed utilization efficiency and tissue composition. Four experimental isoenergetic and isoproteic diets supplemented with B. subtilis were formulated with increasing starch to lipid ratios (g/g) of 10:19; 14:17; 18:15 and 22:13 (diets PD10, PD14, PD18 and PD22 respectively). A negative control diet for B. subtilis supplementation was also formulated to be similar to diet PD10 (diet CD10). Each experimental diet was fed to triplicate groups of 20 fish per tank (IBW: 9.5 g), three times a day, to apparent satiation, for 60 days. Supplementation with B. subtilis, of the low starch‐high lipid diet (10:19), significantly enhanced the overall growth performance, digestibility and feed efficiency. Moreover, the increase in starch to lipid ratio, in supplemented probiotic diets, significantly increased growth performance, feed intake, feed utilization efficiency and protein and energy digestibility, being maximum for the highest dietary starch to lipid level. Lipid content of whole body, muscle and liver and hepatosomatic index significantly increased with the increase in starch to lipid ratio. The results of this study indicate that B. subtilis supplementation significantly enhanced growth performance, digestibility and feed utilization of low starch‐high lipid diet. However, further improvement of growth performance and feed utilization efficiency may be achieved combining B. subtilis supplementation with increased dietary starch to lipid ratio to 22:13.  相似文献

The ability of Litopenaeus vannamei (initial mean weight: 0.96 ± 0.02 g) to utilize different levels of cornstarch was examined in terms of growth indices, body composition, digestibility and microscopic structure of the hepatopancreas. Six isonitrogenous semipurified diets were fed to satiation to shrimp for 8 weeks in triplicate tanks (30 shrimps per tank) connected to a natural brackish water (6–8 g L?1) recirculating system. Diets contained different levels of cornstarch (100, 150, 200, 250, 300 and 350 g kg?1) as the source of carbohydrate and were balanced using cellulose. Weight gain (WG), survival rate and feed conversion rate (FCR) were considerably affected by cornstarch levels of diets. The highest WG (453.6 g kg?1) and best FCR was observed in shrimp fed the 150 g kg?1 (cornstarch level) diet and was significantly (P < 0.05) higher than those fed diets containing 250–350 g kg?1 cornstarch. However, the survival rate reached maximum in shrimp fed the 100 g kg?1 diet (96.7), some 30% higher than the lowest rate, which was found in shrimp fed the 250 g kg?1 diet. Body lipid tended to be higher in shrimp fed diets with higher cornstarch levels. The apparent digestibility of dry matter and crude fat increased with increasing levels of cornstarch and, hence, decreasing levels of cellulose. In addition, histological study on shrimp fed 10–350 g kg?1 diets exhibited histological changes. The overall conclusion was that the optimum cornstarch level may be set at 100–200 g kg?1 when the diets contain 380 g kg?1 protein.  相似文献

The physico‐chemical properties of nutrients influence the physical characteristics of faeces and thus may affect waste removal efficiency. The aim of this study is to assess the effect of type of non‐starch polysaccharide (NSP) on digesta viscosity, faeces recovery and nutrient digestibility in Nile tilapia. Insoluble (cellulose) and soluble (guar gum) NSPs were included separately and combined at a level of 8%, thereby formulating four experimental diets. The diets were assigned to 16 tanks with 35 fish each, with four replicates for each diet. Cellulose inclusion did not influence digesta viscosity, growth and digestibility of protein and starch and tended to increase faeces recovery (P=0.06). Guar gum inclusion increased digesta viscosity and reduced the growth and digestibility of protein, fat and starch (P<0.01). Faeces recovery was reduced by 42% in diets containing guar gum. There were interaction effects (P<0.05) between cellulose and guar gum for the growth and feed conversion ratio, indicating that cellulose alleviated the negative impact of guar gum. In conclusion, dietary soluble NSPs increase organic matter load in the culture system through a reduction in faeces recovery and nutrient digestibility, whereas insoluble NSPs improve the removal efficiency of particles by increasing faeces recovery.  相似文献

A growth experiment was conducted to determine the optimal dietary carbohydrate‐to‐lipid (CHO : L) ratio for the Australian redclaw crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus (von Martens). Specimens were divided into five treatment groups and fed twice a day to apparent satiation with isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets with dietary CHO : L ratios of 10.75:1, 5.99:1, 3.60:1, 2.18:1, or 1.33:1. Over the 8‐wk growth trial, redclaw crayfish fed the 2.81:1 and 3.60:1 diets exhibited better weight gain (WG), specific growth rate (SGR), and feed conversion ratio (FCR) than specimens fed the other diets (P < 0.05). Activities of hexokinase and pyruvate kinase were stimulated by elevated levels of dietary carbohydrate, whereas activities of lipase and alkaline phosphatase were stimulated by elevated levels of dietary lipid. Dietary CHO : L ratios significantly affected digestive enzyme activities (P < 0.05), except for trypsin (P > 0.05). On the basis of the analysis of growth, FCR, and costs of culturing redclaw crayfish, the optimal growth and costs occurred when the dietary carbohydrate and lipid levels were 290.10 g/kg and 80.70 g/kg, respectively, corresponding to a CHO : L ratio of 3.60:1. These results indicate that a CHO : L ratio of 3.60:1 is optimal for rearing redclaw crayfish and that this species uses carbohydrate more efficiently than lipid.  相似文献

Carbohydrate utilization by fish varies with feeding habits and feed processing. Extruded aquafeeds have increased digestibility of carbohydrate sources resulting from the cooking and gelatinization of this nutrient, making it readily available for all aquatic species. This study aimed at determining the effects of extrusion cooking of feeds in the digestibility of different dietary carbohydrate sources for dourado. Isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets (530 g kg?1 crude protein and 20.80 MJ kg?1 gross energy) containing either corn, toasted cassava flour, wheat flour, broken rice, cassava starch, or corn starch, in extruded or pelletized form and added of chromic oxide as inert marker, were fed to groups of juvenile dourado (73.97 ± 12.0 g; n = 40) stocked in 500‐L polyethylene tanks. Extrusion cooking improved the digestibility of energy and/or starch of corn, cassava starch, wheat flour, rice and corn starch (P < 0.05), but did not affect digestibility of toasted cassava flour (P > 0.05). It is thus fair to infer that dourado, despite being a carnivorous species, is properly fit to digest wheat flour, rice and corn starch in natural form.  相似文献

The experiment investigated whether the effect of enzyme supplementation on performance and nutrient digestibility is dependent on type of the ingredient(s) used, by incorporating wheat bran (WB), sunflower meal (SFM) and citrus pulp (CP) to a reference diet (REF). Those ingredients are known to be rich in different types of non‐starch polysaccharides (NSP). Diets were supplemented with and without (control) an enzyme mix (phytase 1,000 FTU/kg and xylanase U/kg) according to a 2 × 4 factorial arrangement. In total, 24 tanks (3 replicates/treatment) were used with 30 fish each (Nile tilapia, Oreochromis niloticus; mean initial body weight 41 g). Fish were restrictively fed the experimental diets for 43 days (80% of expected satiation). Enzyme supplementation affected the absolute growth (g/day) and FCR (p < 0.05), improving the growth of fish fed the WB and SFM diets, while fish fed the REF and CP diets did not benefit. NSP, energy, ash, phosphorous and calcium digestibility improved with enzyme supplementation (p < 0.05). There was an interaction effect on all growth parameters, as well as the digestibility of energy and phosphorus (p < 0.05). This indicates that the effectiveness of the enzymes was dependent on the NSP‐rich ingredient used and thus the composition of the NSP fraction.  相似文献

A feeding trial was conducted in a recycling water system during 10 weeks to determine the optimal protein to lipid ratio in Asian red‐tailed catfish (Hemibagrus wyckioides). Six diets of two protein levels (390 and 440 g kg?1) with three lipid levels (60, 90 and 120 g kg?1) were formulated. Fish (1.96 g) were fed six diets with four replicates to apparent satiation at a stocking density of 50 fish per tank (500 L). Faeces were collected in cultured tanks at the end of the feeding trial for digestibility measurement. Significantly, improved growth performances (P < 0.01) and higher feed utilization (P < 0.001) were observed in fish fed with higher lipid diets. However, higher protein diets did not significantly improve fish growth but they reduced FCR (P < 0.001) and protein efficiency ratio (P < 0.01). Higher lipid diets also resulted in significantly increased adipose‐somatic index, carcass fat and reduced moisture of the fish. The study revealed the protein sparing effect of dietary lipid in the catfish and highest growth performance was found by fish fed 390 g kg?1 protein and 120 g kg?1 lipid diet with P/E ratio of 20.48 mg protein kJ?1. Two experiments were conducted to ascertain the utilization of different carbohydrate sources and different forms of starch present in bagrid catfish (Mystus nemurus) fry. The nutritional quality and starch forms of cornstarch, dextrin, broken rice, and sago flour were evaluated in a 4 × 2 factorial design. All diets were formulated to be isonitrogenous (400 g kg?1 crude protein) and isolipidic (150 g kg?1 crude lipid), fed to triplicate groups of bagrid catfish fry (initial weight 6.04 ± 0.04 g). Growth studies, enzymatic response and postprandial plasma glucose were observed. A two‐way anova (P > 0.05) analysis of the data obtained showed that the final body weight, specific growth rate (SGR) and food conversion ratio (FCR) were significantly affected by carbohydrate source, but not significantly affected by starch form. Fish fed broken rice and corn starch had similar SGR and FCR compared to fish fed with dextrin and sago flour. The postprandial plasma glucose trend in fish fed with corn starch and broken rice showed a gradual increase while sago flour and dextrin‐fed fish peaked at 2 and 3 h, respectively. Lipogenic enzyme (G6PDH) activity were more pronounced than gluconeogenic enzyme (ME) in M. nemurus irrespective of carbohydrate source and starch form. Therefore, we suggest that raw broken rice and corn starch are suitable carbohydrate sources in the M. nemurus diet.  相似文献

Growth, nutrient utilisation and gastrointestinal evacuation time using different fish meal particle sizes and dietary protein concentration was examined in Atlantic salmon. Salmon were given micro, standard or coarse grounded fish meals at two dietary protein concentrations (30 or 45%) in isolipid diets. Gastric evacuation time was influenced by fish meal particle size. Coarse ground fish meal gave a slower gastric evacuation time compared to finer ground fish meal. Specific growth rate was not influenced by the protein concentration, but there was an adverse effect of coarse ground particles. This effect may be explained by the reduced feed intake of fish fed diets containing coarse ground fish meal. Feed conversion ratio (FCR) or energy conversion ratio (ECR) was reduced with increasing dietary protein concentration. This effect was mainly caused by different energy levels in the diets and not protein/carbohydrate levels. Standard coarse fish meal gave a reduction in ECR, but there was no effect of fish meal particle size on FCR. A protein sparing effect of starch was demonstrated. Productive protein value (PPV) and productive energy value (PEV) was not affected by dietary protein concentration or fish meal particle size. Dietary protein concentration had no effect on nitrogen or fat digestibility but there was a reduction in fat digestibility when coarse ground fishmeal was used in the diets. There were only minor effects on the dressing out percentage, condition factor and fat in cutlet.  相似文献

Abstract. In temperate regions of North America, the culture of rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum), in ponds is constrained to the period mid-November to early April by water temperature. Feeding practice may influence production time. The effects of three feeding practices on growth and body composition of rainbow trout raised in ponds during a 142-day winter growth period were investigated. Feeding practices were (1) hand-feeding to satiation, (2) feeding according to a fish size/water temperature chart, and (3) feeding by demand feeder.
Fish fed to satiation consumed 66% more diet than fish fed according to a feeding chart and 163% more than fish fed by demand feeders. Fish fed to satiation had significantly higher (P < 0·05) weight gain, harvest weight, specific growth rate, and protein gain with no significant increase (P > 0·05) in percentage body fat or feed conversion ratio (FCR) compared to the other two treatments. Survival percentage did not differ significantly (P > 0·05) between treatments. These data indicate that by using satiation feeding, marketable size rainbow trout can be produced in temperate region ponds without increases in percentage body fat or FCR.  相似文献

An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of dietary wheat starch on grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) in terms of growth performance, feed efficiency and digestibility. Five isoproteic (23.5%) and isolipidic (5.7%) diets with five supplemented levels of wheat starch (D20, D26, D33, D40 and D47 with 20, 26, 33, 40 and 47%, respectively) were fed to triplicate groups of grass carp (mean initial wet weight 6.9 ± 0.1 g) for 8 weeks. Results showed that weight gain (WG, %), feed efficiency (FE, %) and protein efficiency ratio (PER) in D20, D26 and D33 treatments were significantly higher than those in D40 and D47 treatments (P < 0.05). Digestibility of carbohydrate and protein was significantly higher in D20, D26 and D33. No significant differences were found in serum glucose and triglyceride contents between treatments. Serum lipase activity of fish fed D40 and D47 was significantly higher than that of fish fed other diets. Whole-body, muscle and liver lipid contents increased with dietary starch level as did mesenteric fat index, hepatosomatic index and viscerosomatic index. In conclusion, when dietary protein level was 23%, the level of dietary wheat starch should maximum be 33% to support normal growth of grass carp. Fish growth was hampered by higher wheat starch (>33%) despite fish ate increasing levels of dietary digestible energy. Furthermore, excess digestible carbohydrate was to some extent converted to lipid that was deposited in various tissues. Most importantly, grass carp could endure high levels of cellulose without any negative effect on growth and digestibilities of dietary protein and carbohydrate.  相似文献

A study was conducted to evaluate low‐protein traditional or alternative diets for pond‐raised hybrid catfish, Ictalurus punctatus × Ictalurus furcatus. Three 24% protein diets containing decreasing levels of soybean meal (30, 20, and 15%) and increasing levels of cottonseed meal and corn germ meal were compared with a 28% protein control diet. Hybrid catfish fingerlings (mean initial weight = 71 g/fish) were stocked into 20 earthen ponds (0.04 ha) at a density of 14,826 fish/ha with five ponds per dietary treatment. Fish were fed once daily to apparent satiation for a 191‐d growing season. There were no significant differences in total diet fed, net yield, weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR), survival, or fillet proximate nutrient composition among dietary treatments (P ≥ 0.10). However, regression analysis showed for fish fed 24% protein diets there was a linear increase in FCR as soybean meal levels decreased (P = 0.06). Compared with fish fed the 28% protein control diet, fish fed 24% protein diets had lower carcass and fillet yield. Results demonstrate a 24% protein alternative diet containing 20% soybean meal may be substituted for 28% protein diets for hybrid catfish during food fish production.  相似文献

The growth performance of carnivorous southern catfish (Silurus meridionalis) was lower when fed a diet containing glucose as a carbohydrate source than when fed one containing starch. To test whether this decreased growth performance was partly due to higher metabolic costs induced by the fast assimilation of dietary glucose, the postprandial metabolic responses of southern catfish juvenile (36.7 ± 1.9 g) fed diets containing either raw or pre-cooked corn starch and glucose were investigated at 27.5°C. The peak metabolic rate of fish fed a raw corn starch diet was significantly higher than that of fish fed precooked corn starch and glucose diets (P < 0.05). The specific dynamic action (SDA) coefficients (energy expended on SDA as a percentage of energy content of the meal) of fish fed raw or precooked corn starch diets were significantly higher than that of fish fed a glucose diet (P < 0.05). The postprandial metabolic rate of fish fed a raw starch diet displayed a classic response – increased metabolic rate immediately after feeding, followed by a decreased metabolic rate several hours after feeding – as has been documented earlier in this species. However, the postprandial metabolic rate of fish fed a glucose diet had two alternating cycles of increasing and decreasing metabolic rate, which has not been reported previously. This bimodal pattern of the SDA curve was also found in a subsequent experiment in which purified d-glucose (0.1 g dry mass) was packed into sections of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus) intestine (0.05 g dry mass). The results suggest that the digestibility and absorption speed of the dietary carbohydrate has a significant effect on postprandial metabolic response in juvenile southern catfish. The results of this study may provide useful data in terms of the utilization of dietary carbohydrates by carnivorous fishes.  相似文献

Experiments have been carried out aimed at clarifying variations in the digestibility of dietary nutrients in rainbow trout families and studying how differences in digestibility may be related to growth and feed utilisation at various growth rates. The digestibility of protein, lipid, carbohydrates (nitrogen-free extracts, NFE) and dry matter was analysed in two experiments involving eight rainbow trout families [Ab, Ba, Cd, Dc (first study); V, X, Y, Z (second study)]. In the first experiment rainbow trout were reared for 128 days at 13.0°C, and in the second experiment, they were reared for 84 days at 16.8°C. In both experiments, the fish were fed ad libitum and reared from an initial weight of 70–100 g to a final weight of 500–700 g. When the fish reached a weight of approximately 200 g, some individuals were moved to another experimental system in which the digestibility of protein, lipid, nitrogen-free extracts and dry matter was measured. Taken as a whole, our results indicate that selective breeding still offers a large potential for improved growth and feed utilisation in rainbow trout strains. In the first study, family Dc showed a higher specific growth rate (SGR) than the other three families (P < 0.05), and family Ba showed a lower feed conversion ratio (FCR) than family Ab (P < 0.05); there were no observed differences in digestibility despite some differences in growth. In the second study, family Y grew faster than all of the other families (P < 0.05), and family Z grew faster than families V and X (P < 0.01). A comparable pattern was seen for FCR, with family Y utilising feed better than family V (P < 0.05), and families V, Y and Z performing better than family X (P < 0.001). Protein digestibility was higher in the two fastest growing families (Y and Z) than in the slower growing family X (P < 0.05), while lipid digestion was higher in family Y than in family V (P < 0.05). A comparison of the results from both experiments revealed that protein digestibility in particular was closely related to the SGR and the FCR at high growth rates. However, despite the advantageous protein digestibility on fish growth, analysis of the protein retention efficiency (PRE) showed that when protein was ingested in relatively large amounts, as in the fastest growing families, the “excess” nitrogen was excreted and therefore did not contribute to protein deposition in the fish body. Hence, the potential weight gain offered by improved protein digestibility does not materialise when the protein intake is above a certain level. Other factors must therefore explain the positive relation between fast growth and high protein digestibility.  相似文献

Due to lack of information on the use of non‐protein energy sources in diets for pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus), a 2 × 2 × 3 factorial experiment was conducted to evaluate the performance and digestibility of 12 diets containing approximately two crude protein (CP; 220 and 250 g kg−1), two lipid (40 and 80 g kg−1) and three carbohydrate levels (410, 460 and 500 g kg−1). The pacu juveniles‐fed diets containing 220 g kg−1 CP did not respond (P > 0.05) to increased dietary lipid and carbohydrate levels, but the fish‐fed diets containing 250 g kg−1 CP showed a better feed conversion ratio. There were interactions in weight gain (WG), specific growth rate (SGR), crude protein intake (CPI) and feed conversion rate (FCR) dependent on dietary carbohydrate and lipid levels, showing positive effects of increasing carbohydrate levels only for fish‐fed diets containing 80 g kg−1 lipid level. However, when the diets contained 40 g kg−1 lipid, the best energy productive value (EPV) results were obtained at 460 g kg−1 carbohydrate. A higher usage of lipids (80 g kg−1) reduced CPI and was detrimental to protein [apparent digestibility coefficient (ADC)CP] and energy (ADCGE), but did not affect growth. The ADCGE improved proportionally as dietary carbohydrate levels increased (P < 0.05), increasing the concentration of digestible energy. In addition, the WG, CPI, ADCGE results showed best use of the energy from carbohydrates when dietary protein level was 250 g kg−1 CP. The utilization of 250 g kg−1 CP in feeds for juvenile pacu for optimal growth is suggested. Therefore, the optimum dietary lipid and carbohydrate levels depend on their combinations. It can be stated that pacu uses carbohydrates as effectively as lipids in the maximization of protein usage, as long as it is not lower than 250 g kg−1 CP or approximately 230 g kg−1 digestible protein.  相似文献

Triplicate groups of juvenile American eel, Anguilla rostrata, initial weight 8.2 ± 0.24 g, were fed to satiation herring meal based diets formulated with digestible protein/digestible energy (DP/DE) ratios of 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 g DP MJ DE?1 (as‐fed basis) for 84 days. Data were collected to determine the effect of dietary DP/DE ratio on feed intake (FI), mean weight (MW), specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), apparent digestibility (AD) of major nutrients, rate of phosphate excretion (RPE) and nutrient retention efficiency (RE). Highest MW, SGR and lowest FCR (P < 0.05) were achieved by feeding 22 g DP MJ DE?1 with values (mean ± SE) of 22.9 ± 0.07 g fish?1, 1.23 ± 0.033% day?1 and 0.91 ± 0.075 g feed g gain?1, respectively. With exception of lipid, digestibility of all nutrients were the same (P > 0.05) with mean AD coefficients for organic matter, protein, energy and phosphorous of 86.3, 94.1, 89.2 and 34.7%, respectively. Lipid AD was significantly higher (P < 0.05) when DP/DE ratio was 21, 22 or 23 g DP MJ DE?1 at 92.3% as opposed to when DP/DE ratio was 19 or 20 g DP MJ DE?1 at 90.3%. The DP/DE ratio had no significant effect (P > 0.05) on RPE and it averaged 0.05 ± 0.002 g phosphate kg fish?1 day?1. Nitrogen retention efficiency (NRE) significantly (P < 0.05) increased as DP/DE ratio increased to 21 g DP MJ DE?1 and was similar thereafter (P > 0.05) at an average of 31.6 ± 0.67%. Energy retention efficiency (ERE) significantly (P < 0.05) increased to 42.9 ± 1.24% as DP/DE ratio increased to 22 g DP MJ DE?1 and thereafter significantly (P < 0.05) decreased. Lipid retention efficiency (LRE) increased significantly (P < 0.05) to 75.7 ± 0.85% as dietary DP/DE ratio increased to 23 g DP MJ DE?1. Non‐linear quadratic regression of ERE against dietary DP/DE ratio yielded an estimated optimum DP/DE ratio for juvenile American eel of 22.1 g DP MJ DE?1.  相似文献

Apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of carbohydrate, protein and lipid were investigated in Penaeus vannamei (18–25 g) with diets containing eight starches of various origin. Test ingredients, included at a level of 35% of diet, were native (NC) or gelatinized (GC) corn starch, waxy corn starch, either native (XC) or gelatinized (GX), high amylose corn starch (AC), potato starch, either native (NP) or gelatinized (GP), and native wheat starch (NW). Experimental diets differed only in the type of starch. Chromic oxide was included as a marker. On each starch sample, water solubility index (WSI) was determined and in vitro digestibility assays were carried out with shrimp digestive gland homogenates in order to evaluate correlations between criteria. In vitro digestibility was estimated as the initial rate of hydrolysis (IRH) in micrograms of reducing units per minute per microgram of substrate in glucose equivalents. Starch ADC ranged from 63.1 (AC) to 95.8% (GX), WSI ranged from 0.06 (NP) to 0.69% (XC) for native starch and from 55 (GX) to 85% (GP) for gelatinized starch, while IRH was between 17 (AC) and 89.10−4 μg min−1 μg−1 (GC). Significant differences (P < 0.05) appeared within each of the parameters depending on the source of dietary starch; in vitro tests were significantly (P < 0.05) correlated with each other as was IRH with starch ADC (y = 8.0 In(104x) + 59.0; R2 = 0.81; x representing IRH). IRH appeared to be more suitable than WSI to predict in vivo digestibility for starch. Protein and lipid ADC which ranged from 94.1 to 97.8% and from 76.6 to 84.8%, respectively, were also significantly affected, thus indicating some associative effects.  相似文献
