Continuous monitoring of cloud and rain samples at three mountain sites in the UK has allowed consideration of the long term impact of the enhancement of the wet deposition of pollutants by orographie effects, specifically the scavenging of cap cloud droplets by rain falling from above (the seeder-feeder effects). The concentration of the major pollutant ions in the cloud water is related to the relative proximity of each site to marine and anthropogenic sources of aerosol. In general, the concentrations of major ions in precipitation at summit sites exceed those in precipitation to low ground nearby by 20% to 50%. Concentrations in orographie cloud exceed those in upwind rain by between a factor of five and ten. The results are consistent with seeder-feeder scavenging of hill cloud by falling precipitation in which the average concentration of ions in scavenged hill cloud exceed those in precipitation upwind by a factor of 1.7 to 2.3 for sulphate and nitrate respectively at Dunslair Heights and 1.5 to 1.8 for sulphate and nitrate at Holme Moss. The results suggest that the parameterisation of this relationship with scavenged feeder cloud water concentrations assumed to exceed those in seeder rain by a factor of two for the production of predictive maps of wet deposition in mountainous regions of the U.K. is satisfactory.  相似文献

A soil carbon and land use database for the United Kingdom   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1  
Abstract. The compilation of a database of soil carbon and land use is described, from which models of soil carbon dioxide emissions across the United Kingdom (UK) can be run. The database gives soil organic carbon, sand, silt and clay contents and bulk densities weighted to reference layers from 0 to 30 cm and from 30 to 100 cm depths. The data are interpolated from information on soil types and land use on a 1 km grid across the UK and are used to estimate soil carbon stocks. For 1990, the baseline year for the Kyoto Protocol on carbon emissions, the estimate is 4562 Tg soil organic carbon in the top 1 m of soil across the UK, with an average density of 18 kg m−2. The data can be reported by layer (e.g. 54% in topsoils) and country (e.g. 48% in Scotland) as well as by soil and land type.  相似文献

Two field experiments to observe the detailed response of wet deposition to orography in a polluted environment are reported. Rain events were classed as frontal, convective or mixed on the basis of meteorological data. Analysis of the deposition enhancement and cap cloud composition confirmed that for the frontal events the seeder-feeder effect (scavenging of cap cloud by rain drops) dominates. The greater concentration of ions in the water scavenged from the cap cloud than in the rain means that deposition is enhanced for all ions. For marine ions the scavenged water was found to be between five and six times as concentrated as the rain and for anthropogenically produced ions it was about twice as concentrated.A computational model of rainfall incorporating the seeder-feeder effect has been broadly successful in predicting enhancement although some details of the observed pattern remain to be explained.  相似文献

The dry and wet deposition of N and S compounds to the Baltic Sea Basin were assessed using daily concentration measurements of air and precipitation concentrations, and actual meteorological data on precipitation, daily wind speed and wind direction, as well as the buoyant fluxes at the air- sea interface. The data cover the period 1980–86. Both concentrations and deposition levels show distinct south-north gradients and strong seasonal variability. Dry deposition is an important contribution in the case of S (25 to 80%) but is less significant for the N compounds (10 to 30%). The contribution of particles to dry deposition is negligible for S, equivalent to the gaseous contribution for oxidized N and about 10 to 20% for reduced nitrogen compounds. The obtained total annual deposition of about 1.4 to 1.8 g(S) m?2 for the S compounds, and 1 g(N) m?2 for the N compounds are comparable with, but on the upper side of, previous empirical and model estimates.  相似文献

The response of forest-floor mosses to deposition of nitrogen (N) and sulphur (S) was examined in field conditions in a 60-year-old Norway spruce (Picea abies Karst.) stand in southern Finland. The experimental plots received nitrogen (25 kg N ha–1) and sulphur (30 kg S ha–1) as ammonium sulphate once a year for 4 years.The dominant moss species on the site were Pleurozium schreberi (Mitt.) and Dicranum polysetum (Sw.). The biomass of the dominant moss species was decreased significantly by N and S deposition during the study period. Due to the addition of N and S, the biomass of Pleurozium schreberi was decreased by 60% and the biomass of Dicranum polysetum by 78%.  相似文献

山西省太原市旱作农区大气活性氮干湿沉降年度变化特征   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
鉴于大气氮素沉降对整个生态系统的重要影响,我国近年来陆续开展了不同尺度的大气氮素干、湿沉降的研究,但少有农业区多年连续监测的资料。本研究利用DELTA系统、被动采样器和雨量器在山西省太原市郊区阳曲县河村旱作农业区进行了4年的监测试验,观测大气氮素干、湿沉降的时间变异。结果表明:2011年4月—2015年3月,河村4年大气活性氮NH_3、HNO_3、NO_2、颗粒态NO_3~-(pNO_3~-)、颗粒态NH_4~+(pNH_4~+)平均沉降量分别为4.50 kg(N)·hm~(-2)·a~(-1)、3.54 kg(N)·hm~(-2)·a~(-1)、2.56 kg(N)·hm~(-2)·a~(-1)、1.62 kg(N)·hm~(-2)·a~(-1)、2.75 kg(N)·hm~(-2)·a~(-1),大气氮素干沉降总量为12.38~18.95 kg(N)·hm~(-2)·a~(-1),以2011年的氮干沉降量最高,2014年的最低。2011年4月—2015年3月各月氮干沉降量与氨气沉降量之间存在显著正相关,相关系数在0.809 8~0.937 1,由此可知,该地区活性氮沉降主要受农业氨气排放的影响。河村4年雨水中NO_3~-、NH_4~+平均浓度分别为3.20 mg(N)·L~(-1)和2.43 mg(N)·L~(-1),大气氮素湿沉降11.67~41.31 kg(N)·hm~(-2)·a~(-1)。年度间氮素湿沉降存在很大差异,以2012年氮素年湿沉降量最高,2014年最低,每年大气氮素湿沉降占氮总沉降量的份额超过50%。此外,4年湿沉降中不仅NO_3~--N和NH_4~+-N之间、且二者与降雨量也呈显著线性或二次相关关系,说明降雨量对NO_3~--N和NH_4~+-N的湿沉降影响较大。本研究表明太原市旱作农区不同年份间氮素湿沉降比干沉降差异更大,且总沉降数量较高。虽然是旱作区,该地区氮素干沉降略低于湿沉降。研究结果为该地区农田氮肥施用和氮素循环监测提供了理论依据。  相似文献

The total deposition of sulphur (S) and nitrogen (N) components in Norway during the period 1988–1992 has been estimated on the basis of measurement data of air- and precipitation chemistry from the national monitoring network. There are large regional variations in depositions with highest values in the southwestern part of Norway. Time series analysis of annual mean concentrations of sulphur dioxide (SO2) and sulphate (SO4 ––) in air, non marine SO4 ––, nitrate (NO3 ) and ammonium (NH4 +) in precipitation, shows a significant reduction in the S concentrations both in air and precipitation. In precipitation the concentrations are reduced by 30–45 percent in Southern Norway and 45–55 percent in Central and Northern Norway. Even larger reductions are observed in air concentrations with 50–65 percent reduction in Southern Norway and 65–88 percent reduction further north. For N components there are generally no significant trends in concentration levels nor in precipitation or air. The observed trends are comparable with reported trends in emission.  相似文献

In the covered catchment at Lake Gårdsjön, the reversibility of acidification and the effects on Hg output of a decreased deposition of Hg and MeHg have been investigated since 1991. A first indication of a decreased from the covered catchment, caused by the artificial removal of Hg and MeHg input, has been observed. This has occurred in parallel with an overall decrease in Hg deposition fluxes in SW Sweden during 1990 to 1993. In the sediments of two acidified lakes, Lake Gårdsjön (limed) and Lake Härsevatten (acid), Hg concentrations decrease by 60% in the top cm, from the maximum around 1000 ng g–1 at 5 cm depth indicating a decreasing deposition during the last 10 years. This decrease has occurred in parallel with decreasing atmospheric S-levels and is most likely caused by decreasing European Hg emissions. Decreasing trends of MeHg in run-off from two catchments has also been observed while the Hg output has remained somewhat more stable.  相似文献

Inputs of wet and dry deposition were monitored at the Huntington Forest in the Adirondack Mountains of New York for two years in the open and beneath the canopy of a northern hardwood forest. In the open, ion flux estimates were similar using wet-only weekly (NADP protocol) and event collections, but bulk collections were higher for all ions except H+, which was much lower. These differences were due to the contribution of dry deposition and possible biotic alterations in bulk collectors. Dry deposition was estimated using air concentrations and ion-specific depositional velocities modeled with meteorological data, and contributed substantially to the input of all ions [H+ (45%), Na+ (24%), K+ (22%), NH4 + (12%), Ca2+ (58%), Mg2+(43%), NO3 ? (55%), Cl? (27%) and SO4 ?2 (26%)]. Dry input of base cations was dominated by coarse particles, whereas gaseous inputs were more important for S and NO3 ?. Atmospheric concentrations of SO2 and inputs of SO4 2? and H+ were lower at this site than sites closer to point sources of S gas emission. The importance of estimating atmospheric inputs was examined using examples of elemental budgets. For example, different estimates of the contribution of dry deposition of SO4 2? (9–21 meq m?2 y?1) resulted in conclusions ranging from no net retention to a net loss of this element. Such differences have important implications in assessing the current and future role of atmospheric inputs in affecting elemental cycling.  相似文献

Trends in sulphur dioxide (SO2) annual mean concentrations in the period 1984–1993 are given for two sites within the city of Rijeka. During this period a decline (in average 30%) is observed since mid-eighties up to now at both sites. Dry deposition of sulphur as sulphur dioxide (S-SO2) follows the same trend. Deposition of total sulphur as sulphates (S-SO4) and wet S-SO4 exhibit similar pattern with a decline of 45%. Rain scavenging is found to be the main path of sulphate removal from the atmosphere. The decline of sulphur compounds in the urban atmosphere of Rijeka can be attributed to the use of fuel with lower sulphur content.  相似文献

The analysis of various ions in atmospheric deposition at two altitudes (515 m and 950 m a.s.l.) in Switzerland during 1983/84 revealed that dry deposition depends more on altitude than wet deposition. During autumn and winter, when vertical air exchange is limited, dry deposition of substances from anthropogenic sources (e.g. SO4-S) was higher at the lower site. In the course of the year, the pattern of wet deposition was independent of altitude and showed highest rates for S, N and Ca in summertime. A comparison between rates of wet, particulate and gaseous S and N deposition suggested that during the growing season wet deposition is the dominant flux. Total (wet + dry) deposition of S, N and Cl was lower than in other parts of Europe, but a substantial increase of NO3-N deposition during the past 25 years must have occured.  相似文献

试验研究了裸地、马尾松林、香樟林的大气降水、穿透雨和树干径流以及地表径流的污染物离子浓度。结果表明:大气降水的污染物质离子浓度大小依次为SO42->NO3->Cl->F-;马尾松、香樟林群落的穿透雨、树干径流的污染物质含量显著高于大气降水,说明它们对降水中污染离子的富集作用很强,马尾松林的穿透雨和树干径流的污染物离子的总量高于香樟林。各林型大气污染物降水的SO42-离子含量都较高,两种林型的地表径流污染物质含量显著高于大气降水,但污染物浓度比树干径流有显著降低,说明土壤表面和枯枝落叶对降水中污染物的吸附能力很强。  相似文献

试验研究上海地区N素湿沉降及其对农业生态系统的影响结果表明,上海地区湿沉降中N营养盐含量较高,其中NO3-为2.587mg/L,NH4 达2.155mg/L,TIN的含量均在4.000mg/L以上。湿沉降输入到上海地区农业生态系统N营养盐的年通量较高,其中NH4 平均为26.580kg/hm2,1999年达到38.930kg/hm2;NO3-平均为31.545kg/hm2;TIN平均为58.123kg/hm2,相当于124.549kg/hm2尿素或327.980kg/hm2碳酸氢铵,1999年TIN输入量为77.750kg/hm2,相当于166.607kg/hm2尿素或438.732kg/hm2碳酸氢铵,占1998年全国化肥(N)平均施用量的35%。湿沉降中N的输入对农业生产有重要影响。  相似文献

在兼顾土壤样点空间分布相对均匀的前提下,采集了中国东北地区具有代表性的黑龙江省北安市、海伦市和吉林省公主岭市的黑土样,对这些地区的黑土中硫素含量进行了分析。结果看出,不同地区黑土中全硫含量存在明显差异,其全硫含量依次为北安(北部黑土)海伦(中北部黑土)公主岭(南部黑土)。随剖面的加深,自上而下土壤全硫都呈下降的趋势,但在145cm深处升高。全硫在开垦前期呈下降趋势,随着开垦年限的增加,土壤全硫含量下降逐渐趋于平稳。相关分析表明,土壤全硫与土壤有机质等指标都达到了显著或极显著相关水平。黑土中三种形态有机硫含量占全硫含量的78%。  相似文献

The estimation of the dry deposition of sulphur dioxide to forests is confounded by the possibility of co-deposition of SO2 with NH3 on leaf surfaces. A sector of Scots pine forest was selectively fumigated with NH3 to give average concentrations up to 15 ppbV (nL L–1) above ambient, in order to test the hypothesis that increased air concentrations of NH3 would enhance the dry deposition of SO2, and the consequent amounts of SO4 2– measured in throughfall below the forest canopy. Ammonia gas, generated by evaporation of concentrated aqueous solution, was released above the canopy in proportion to wind speed when the wind direction was between south and west. Concentrations of NH3 at canopy height were measured using passive diffusion tubes; throughfall was preserved with thymol and measured weekly. Meteorological data and SO2 concentrations were recorded continuously, to permit the estimation of dry deposition input. Deposition of NH4 + in throughfall over 8 months was increased by up to 40 meq m–2 relative to control sites upwind of the NH3 release point, with largest values closest to the release point. Deposition of SO4 2– in throughfall was also enhanced in the fumigated area, by up to 20 meq m–2, even though average ambient SO2 concentrations were 2.3 ppbV. The results are discussed in terms of the factors controlling SO2 deposition on forest surfaces, the development of appropriate deposition models, and their relevance to using throughfall as an estimate of total S deposition.  相似文献

Abstract. A qualitative model was used to assess the risk of S deficiency in cereals in Britain. A risk index was generated for each of 6301 soil data points by considering the inputs of S from atmospheric deposition, the content of soil organic matter, and factors influencing the potential leaching of sulphate, i.e. soil type, texture, pH and annual rainfall. The results show that currently 11% of the British land area is at high risk of S deficiency, and a further 22% at medium risk. The high risk areas are in south-east Scotland, the Scottish Borders, East Anglia, the Welsh Borders and south-west England. These agree well with the distribution of reported incidences of S deficiency in cereals. If the UK target for reduction in SO2 emissions by the year 2003 is met, the model predicts that the high and medium risk areas will increase to 23 and 27%, respectively. Thus, agricultural use of S-containing fertilizers is likely to increase in importance in the near future.  相似文献

Dry deposition processes play an important role in delivering acidic SOx and NOx to the surface. Modeled regional S and N budgets in North America indicate that about half of the total deposition is dry deposited. Thus, there is advantage to be gained in more accurately representing dry deposition in ‘acid deposition’ model calculations. A scheme, based on a resistance analogy, for estimating areal-average deposition velocities of gaseous and particulate oxides of S and N is used. From a literature review of observations, estimates of surface resistances for gases and near surface resistances for particles are obtained. Boundary layer theory and meteorological data are used to estimate aerodynamic resistances for gases and particulates as well as near surface resistance for gases. Coupled with information on land-use, monthly mean dry deposition velocity fields are obtained. This paper briefly reviews the parameterization schemes and the required data bases. It discusses spatial and temporal variation in dry deposition velocities of the oxides.  相似文献

[目的]系统地探究近10a中国大气氮沉降研究态势,为今后的相关研究提供科学借鉴。[方法]基于科学计量学与信息可视化分析方法,借助Citespace软件,从文献中分析近10a中国大气氮沉降研究热点及趋势。[结果]近10a来,在氮沉降背景下,森林生态系统中凋落物分解与土壤微生物特征一直是研究热点;近5a草地生态系统的研究地区更加广泛,但较少涉及林下草地;碳氮循环相关研究多集中于温带及亚热带森林区,研究内容更加丰富,研究方法向大数据分析及模型建立方向发展;大气氮沉降通量观测以水域生态系统为主,近5a来较多地结合了非点源污染及示踪技术。[结论]近10a来,中国氮沉降领域各学科交叉性和系统性增强,研究内容和尺度不断扩大,研究方法和技术趋于多样化;草地生态系统及微生物群落特征、氮沉降与全球变化及人类活动耦合关系研究成为近年来关注的热点。  相似文献

A long-range transport model for East Asia was developed to estimate the wet deposition of sulfate. The model is a trajectory type which is appropriate for long-term analysis. Trajectories of air masses are calculated by tracing the wind field which changes spatially and temporally. The processes of reactions, rainout removal, intake of sulfate in cloud water into rain water, and dry and wet depositions are considered. It is possible to calculate the concentration of sulfate in precipitation at a receptor by performing material balance in a grid box containing the receptor.The results obtained by the long-range transport model were evaluated through comparison with observation data of acidic deposition. The observation was conducted at 21 stations throughout Japan for one year. The calculated amount of wet deposition of sulfate in Japan was 0.22Tg/y in S equivalent, while the observed amount was 0.29Tg/y. The long-range transport model can predict almost 80% of observed wet deposition. The contributions of domestic anthropogenic sources and volcanic eruption to wet deposition of sulfate in Japan were estimated using the longrange transport model. The ratio of the deposition of sulfate due to Japanese anthropogenic sources to that due to the Asian continental sources was about 1 to 2. Since air stream from the direction of the Asian continent dominates during winter, the contribution of Japan to wet deposition in the region which faces the Sea of Japan amounted to less than 15%. The contribution of the sulfur oxides from volcanoes was about 20%.  相似文献

Lucerne was grown in nutrient solutions at adequate and “deficient”; levels of sulphur, nitrogen, phosphorus or potassium. Volatile losses of sulphur were then measured when shoots and roots were oven dried at 80°C for 48 hours.

Small but significant losses of sulphur occurred during oven drying. Losses from shoots ranged from 4.2 to 13.9 μgS/g dry weight, which represented from 0.38 to 0.66% of the total sulphur content of the shoot. Losses from roots ranged from 12.0 to 47.8 μgS/g dry weight, representing 0.82 to 1.77% of the total sulphur content of the root. Decreases in supply of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium or sulphur generally decreased the amount of volatile sulphur lost by oven drying shoots. Losses from roots generally decreased when supply of sulphur decreased, but increased when nitrogen and potassium supply decreased, and were generally unaffected by phosphorus supply.

The organic sulphur concentration in the tissue was linearly correlated with absolute losses of sulphur (r = 0.799** for shoots; r = 0.822** for roots), the amount of sulphur lost per unit dry weight (r = 0.469* for shoots; r = 0.381* for roots) and the percentage of the total sulphur released as volatile sulphur (r = 0.937** for shoots; r = 0.970** for roots). By contrast, the total sulphur concentration in the tissue was linearly correlated only with the amount of sulphur lost per unit dry weight ( r = 0.704** for shoots; r = 0.723** for roots).  相似文献
