Blueberry (Northern Highbush, cv ‘Brigitta’) and raspberry (cv ‘Maravilla’) fruit were subject to low dose gamma irradiation (0, 150, 400 and 1000 Gy) and stored at 0 °C for three or ten days (blueberry) and two or seven days (raspberry) to determine the effects of irradiation on fruit quality and nutritional and proximate contents. In general, none of the irradiation doses (≤1000 Gy) significantly affected blueberry or raspberry fruit quality (overall fruit quality, colour, firmness, weight loss, TSS, TA levels or TSS/TA ratio), or the nutritional or proximate content (ash, carbohydrate, dietary fibre, energy, moisture, protein, sodium, potassium, total sugars, fructose, ascorbic acid, monomeric anthocyanin, citric and malic acids). The length of time in storage affected some fruit quality and nutritional and proximate content parameters (such as overall fruit quality, firmness, weight loss, TA levels, dietary fibre, potassium, ascorbic acid, citric and malic acids), with longer storage periods resulting in lower quality fruit, irrespective of irradiation treatment. No interaction was detected between the effects of irradiation treatment and storage time, indicating that the storage effect was consistent for all irradiation doses on both blueberry and raspberry fruit quality.  相似文献

Developing mechanical harvesting for table olives will require decreasing fruit damage during harvest and postharvest handling, transport and storage. The susceptibility to bruising and its development over time were studied in three table olive varieties, cv. ‘Manzanilla’, ‘Gordal Sevillana’ and ‘Hojiblanca’. Bruising was produced with controlled energy impacts of 56, 26, 13 mJ. A strong correlation (r2 = 0.77–0.90) between bruise volume and impact energy was demonstrated. Bruise susceptibility was higher in the Manzanilla variety, followed by Hojiblanca and Gordal Sevillana cultivars. Bruise time evolution was evaluated using a spectrophotometer for visible and near infrared regions. A bruise index was developed using different wavelengths, 545, 670 and 800 nm. Most darkening due to the browning process happened within 1 h, was exponential and dependent on impact energy level. The discoloration was greatest in the Manzanilla, followed by Hojiblanca and Gordal Sevillana olives.  相似文献

夏果型树莓和黑莓品种需冷量及药剂打破休眠效果的研究   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
以11个夏果型树莓(Rubus idaeus L.)和黑莓(Rubus idaeus L.)品种穗条为试材,进行人工低温(5℃恒温)处理,采用0~7.2℃模型估算芽萌发的需冷量,为保护地栽培适时进棚提供参考依据;以不同浓度GA3和H2NCN处理2个夏果型树莓品种的穗条,探索人工破眠的技术。结果表明:需冷量因品种、生态环境、休眠期温度及穗条本身发育情况不同表现各异,各试材需冷量从低于672 h到1344 h不等。其中最低的是‘Bristol’和‘Shawnee’,均小于672 h,最高的是‘Reveille’,为1344 h,其余的居中。使用化学药剂打破树莓的休眠是有效的,但破眠效果因浓度和品种而异:GA3对‘夏17号’的有效浓度范围较广;而H2NCN处理只有0.1%和0.3%对‘夏17号’效果良好,超过0.5%效果下降甚至发生毒害。各浓度药剂处理对‘夏19号’破眠效果不明显。  相似文献

The use of a heterologous fruit microarray system to identify differentially expressed genes between strawberry cultivars with different responses to 20 kPa CO2 (balance air) during storage has been evaluated. Specifically, a tomato cDNA microarray containing approximately 12,000 ESTs (representing 8700 unigenes) was hybridized with strawberry cDNA populations to compare gene expression differences between two cultivars: ‘Jewel’, a cultivar that accumulates acetaldehyde and ethanol in response to elevated CO2 during storage, and ‘Cavendish’ that does not accumulate these compounds under the same storage conditions. A set of 80 tomato gene sequences gave differential hybridization signals between the two strawberry cultivar probes when they were stored in CO2 for 48 h, suggesting homologous strawberry genes with differential expression. Within each cultivar, when RNA from fruit stored in air was compared with that from fruit stored in CO2, 168 sequences suggested differential expression in ‘Jewel’, but only 51 were differentially expressed in ‘Cavendish’ fruit. Strawberry genes with putative homologies to enzymes involved in cell wall metabolism, ethylene action and stress were implicated by the tomato array. This research not only demonstrates the usefulness of using a heterologous microarray platform from a model species (tomato) to study a complex process in strawberry, a crop of economic importance, for which genomic resources are still limited, but also provides a foundation for investigating the molecular basis of responses to elevated CO2 during strawberry postharvest storage.  相似文献

The effect of treatment with diphenylamine (DPA) and duration of postharvest storage of whole apple fruit on the responses of fresh-cut apple slices to elevated CO2 storage atmospheres has been investigated. On the day of harvest, ‘McIntosh’, ‘Empire’ and ‘Delicious’ apples were untreated or dipped in DPA, and were held at 0.5 °C overnight or for 6 weeks before slicing. Slices were then stored at 0, 15, 30, 45 or 60% CO2 in 1% O2 (balance N2), atmospheres. Color, firmness and accumulation of acetaldehyde, ethanol and ethyl acetate of the slices were measured. Generally slices were lighter (higher L* values) when stored in elevated CO2 atmospheres, but atmosphere and DPA effects varied by cultivar and were affected by pre-slice storage time. Slices prepared from stored fruit were softer compared with slices prepared at harvest. Slice firmness was not affected consistently by CO2 or DPA concentration, whether they were prepared at harvest or after storage. The effects of increasing CO2 concentration on acetaldehyde and ethanol accumulations were variable, being affected by cultivar and storage period. DPA treatment did not affect acetaldehyde accumulation of any cultivar, or ethanol accumulation of slices prepared from fruit at harvest. However, DPA-treated ‘Empire’ and ‘Delicious’ apples stored before slicing accumulated less ethanol compared with untreated fruit. Storage of apples before processing increased the accumulation of fermentation volatile compounds by cut apples under storage atmosphere conditions.  相似文献

The relationship between fragrance and vase life and the role of ethylene on volatile emission in cut rose flowers was investigated. No relationship was observed between the amounts of volatile compounds emitted and vase life when fragrant and non-fragrant rose cultivars were compared. Neither ethylene production nor respiration rate of flowers was directly related with vase life. Volatile production during vase life was differential and independent among volatiles originating from different biosynthetic groups. Ethylene did not play a role in the regulation of volatile emission in rose flowers. Endogenous ethylene production was very low in most of the cultivars and did not show autocatalytic production trends. Volatile emission patterns during vase life did not parallel endogenous ethylene production. Exogenous ethylene exposure had differential effects among all cultivars, regardless of the fragrance of the flower. Fragrant cultivar ‘Osiana’ was highly sensitive to exogenous ethylene, with petals abscising within 24 h of ethylene (1 μL L?1) exposure while other fragrant cultivars ‘Erin’ and ‘Lovely Dream’ had low ethylene sensitivity. Volatile production was unaffected by exogenous ethylene. The results of this study indicate that volatile emission in cut roses is not regulated by endogenous or exogenous ethylene and occurs independently of petal senescence and/or abscission. These results provide a better understanding of the complexity of volatile emission in rose flowers.  相似文献

‘Big Top’ and ‘Venus’ nectarines and ‘Early Rich’ and ‘Sweet Dream’ peaches were picked at commercial maturity and stored for 20 and 40 d at −0.5 °C and 92% RH under either air or one of the three different controlled atmosphere regimes (2 kPa O2/5 kPa CO2, 3 kPa O2/10 kPa CO2 and 6 kPa O2/17 kPa CO2). Physicochemical parameters and volatile compounds emission were instrumentally measured after cold storage plus 0 or 3 d at 20 °C. Eight sensory attributes were assessed after cold storage plus 3 d at 20 °C by a panel of 9 trained judges, in order to determine the relationship between sensory and instrumental parameters and the influence of storage period and cold storage atmosphere composition on this relationship.A principal component analysis (PCA) was undertaken to characterize the samples according to their sensory attributes. PCA results reflected the main characteristics of the cultivars: ‘Big Top’ was the nectarine cultivar with the highest values for sweetness, juiciness and flavor; ‘Sweet Dream’ was the sweetest peach and was characterized by high values for crispness and firmness, while ‘Venus’ and ‘Early Rich’ were characterized by their sourness. To assess the influence of storage period and CA composition on sensory properties, a PLS model of the flavor of the different samples was constructed using standard quality attributes and volatile concentrations as the X-variables. The model with 2 factors accounted for more than 80% of flavor variance. PLS results indicated that the main influence on flavor perception was storage period. Atmosphere composition also had an influence on flavor perception: flavor perception decreased from samples stored in a 2/5 O2/CO2 atmosphere composition to those of 3/10 and 6/17. These results can be qualitatively extended to juiciness and sweetness since all these sensory properties were strongly correlated.  相似文献

The effect of methyl jasmonate in combination with ethanol on the formation of aroma constituents in berryfruit belonging to the Rosaceae was investigated. Postharvest treatments of raspberries, strawberries and blackberries were carried out. After evaluating the aromatic fractions of the berries, esters and terpenes were the most abundant compounds. There were different effects of the treatment according to the berry species. In contrast to raspberries, which exhibited a significant decline (p < 0.05) in the total amount of volatiles after treatment, a significant (p < 0.05) enhancement of total volatile compounds was observed in strawberries, while no significant effect was found in blackberries. Esters and terpene compounds responded similarly in strawberries and blackberries suggesting similarity in the biochemistry of their aroma synthesis. In contrast, raspberry volatile compounds showed a different pattern, reflecting different biosynthetic pathways for aroma formation in raspberry. The natural volatile compounds, methyl jasmonate and ethanol, seemed to have either promoting effects on the formation of the (−)-enantiomers of chiral terpenes and ionones or inhibitory effects on the synthesis of the corresponding (+)-enantiomers.  相似文献

The underlying causes as well as chemical and biochemical alleviation for CO2-induced browning in apple fruit are poorly understood. Ascorbic acid (AsA) dynamics in ‘Braeburn,’ a susceptible cultivar, and ‘Gala’, a resistant cultivar, were evaluated during on-tree development and storage at 0.5 °C in air or controlled atmospheres (CA) containing 1 kPa O2 and 1, 3 or 5 kPa CO2. ‘Braeburn’ fruit treated with diphenylamine (DPA) was also stored for 1 month to determine effects on browning incidence and AsA concentration. ‘Braeburn’ apples had significantly higher (p  0.05) AsA levels than ‘Gala’ during on-tree development, and storage. No correlation between AsA and maturity/ripening indices for ‘Braeburn’ or ‘Gala’ was apparent. Histochemical localization of fruit AsA showed a staining intensity consistent with the quantity analytically determined, and showed that AsA is diffusely distributed throughout the cortex in both cultivars during on-tree development. During storage, AsA was localized to the periphery of brown tissue in ‘Braeburn’ and to the coreline and cortex proximal to the peel in ‘Braeburn’ and ‘Gala’ tissues. DPA decreased browning development during storage, however, no correlation between DPA treatment and AsA quantity in healthy or brown cortex tissue was observed. The results indicate AsA quantity alone is not an indicator of CO2 sensitivity in these two cultivars.  相似文献

A total of 50 wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars were evaluated for resistance to tan spot, using Pyrenophora tritici‐repentis race 1 and race 5 isolates. The cultivars ‘Salamouni’, ‘Red Chief’, ‘Dashen’, ‘Empire’ and ‘Armada’ were resistant to isolate ASC1a (race 1), whereas 76% of the cultivars were susceptible. Chi‐squared analysis of the F2 segregation data of hybrids between 20 monosomic lines of the wheat cultivar ‘Chinese Spring’ and the resistant cultivar ‘Salamouni’ revealed that tan spot resistance in ‘Salamouni’ was controlled by a single recessive gene located on chromosome 3A. This gene is designated tsn4. The resistant cultivars identified in this study are recommended for use in breeding programmes to improve tan spot resistance in common wheat.  相似文献

The effects of controlled atmospheres (CA) on respiration, ethylene production, firmness, weight loss, quality, chilling injury, and decay incidence of three commercially important cultivars of guava fruit were studied during storage in atmospheres containing 2.5, 5, 8, and 10 kPa O2 with 2.5, 5, and 10 kPa CO2 (balance N2) at 8 °C, a temperature normally inducing chilling injury. Mature light green fruit of cultivars, ‘Lucknow-49’, ‘Allahabad Safeda’ and ‘Apple Colour’, were stored for 30 days either in CA or normal air, and transferred to ambient conditions (25–28 °C and 60–70% R.H.) for ripening. CA storage delayed and suppressed respiratory and ethylene peaks during ripening. A greater suppression of respiration and ethylene production was observed in fruit stored in low O2 (≤5 kPa) atmospheres compared to those stored in CA containing 8 or 10 kPa O2 levels. High CO2 (>5 kPa) was not beneficial, causing a reduction in ascorbic acid levels. CA storage was effective in reducing weight loss, and maintaining firmness of fruit. The changes in soluble solids content (SSC), titratable acidity (TA), ascorbic acid, and total phenols were retarded by CA, the extent of which was dependent upon cultivar and atmosphere composition. Higher amounts of fermentative metabolites, ethanol and acetaldehyde, accumulated in fruit held in atmospheres containing 2.5 kPa O2. Chilling injury and decay incidence were reduced during ripening of fruit stored in optimal atmospheres compared to air-stored fruit. In conclusion, guava cultivars, ‘Lucknow-49’, ‘Allahabad Safeda’, and ‘Apple Colour’ may be stored for 30 days at low temperature (8 °C) supplemented with 5 kPa O2 + 2.5 kPa CO2, 5 kPa O2 + 5 kPa CO2, and 8 kPa O2 + 5 kPa CO2, respectively.  相似文献

Powdery mildew resistance in Czech and Slovak barley cultivars   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
Fifteen powdery mildew resistance genes and the gene MlaN81 derived from ‘Nepal 81’were found in 76 Czech and Slovak spring and winter barley cultivars when tested for reaction to a set of powdery mildew isolates. Nine cultivars (‘Donum’, ‘Expres’, ‘Jubilant’, ‘Orbit’, ‘Primus’, ‘Progres’, ‘Stabil’, ‘Vladan’ and ‘Zlatan’) are composed of lines with different resistance genes. The Mlat gene is present in nine cultivars and was transferred from the Anatolian landrace ‘A‐516′. The resistances derived from ‘KM‐1192’and ‘CI 7672’were identical and designated Ml(Kr). Five winter barley cultivars possess the Ml(Bw) resistance. The winter barley line ‘KM‐2099’carries the mlo gene. The parental cultivar ‘Palestine 10’was also tested in which the genes Mlk1, MlLa were identified. The German cultivar ‘Salome’, a parent of seven cultivars tested, probably carries the gene MlLa in addition to mlo and Mla7. The gene mlo6 may be present in the cultivar ‘Heris’. Most of the results were confirmed by the pedigrees of the cultivars.  相似文献

了解永德县荔枝主栽品种‘桂味’与区试品种果实品质表现,为‘桂味’品质提升和品种改良提供建议。采集30个果园的‘桂味’和7个区试品种荔枝果实,测定分析果实品质,并结合品质加权分、经济效益指数对测试品种进行评分排序。调查花期授粉源和气温以分析‘桂味’焦核率低的原因。结果表明,永德县‘桂味’荔枝平均单果重、可溶性固形物含量和可食率分别为22.53 g、19.27%和76.61%,单果重和可溶性固形物含量优于广东大部分产区;焦核率仅为44.00%,低于广东大部分产区。经济效益指数评价结果显示,7个优新品种荔枝均优于‘桂味’,依据区试品种荔枝果实品质表现,除‘岭丰糯’外其他品种初步判定引种成功‘。桂味’与大核品种‘怀枝’等混种且花期相遇,推测花粉源和授粉期间长时间低温可能是当地‘桂味’大核化的原因之一,提高‘桂味’焦核率是提质增效的技术关键‘。无核荔’‘、贵妃红’‘、冰荔’‘、仙进奉’引种区试表现较为优异,适合作为永德县荔枝的改良品种。  相似文献

Soybean mosaic virus is a severe constraint of soybean production in China. A total of country-wide 22 SMV strains (SC1-SC22) were identified. Of these, SC3 is a major strain widely distributed in Huanghuai and Yangtze River Valley region of China. Soybean cultivar ‘Qihuang-1’ contains RSC3Q locus conditioning the resistance to SC3 and is an important parental line extensively used to breed the soybean cultivars in China. The objective of this study was to elucidate the genetic pattern of SC3 resistance genes in cultivars developed from ‘Qihuang-1’ or its derivative lines. Hence, we have evaluated the SC3 resistance in 91 cultivars developed from ‘Qihuang-1’ or its derivative lines. The results showed that a total of 43 cultivars exhibited resistance to the SC3 strain. Among them, 37 cultivars were derived from ‘Qihuang-1’. Then, we have detected the RSC3Q loci in these cultivars using four SSR markers (Satt334, Sct_033, BARCSOYSSR_13_1114 and BARCSOYSSR_13_1136). It revealed that, among the 37 resistant cultivars derived from ‘Qihuang-1’, there are 20 cultivars containing RSC3Q loci. Moreover, the allelic relationship of resistance genes was analysed using the crosses from resistance × resistance between ‘Qihuang-1’ and its resistant derived cultivars. The results showed that the resistance genes of ‘Qihuang-1’ and its 20 cultivars were allelic. But it is not allelic with those of the other 17 cultivars, different from ‘Qihuang-1’, and also, RSC3Q does not condition the resistance. These results will be beneficial to exploring the transmission of resistance genes of ‘Qihuang-1’ and will be useful to the disease resistance breeding of soybean.  相似文献

The effects of high O2 and high CO2 throughout storage on the microbial and sensory quality of fresh-cut bell peppers from two commercial ‘California’ cultivars grown under different climatic conditions were studied. The ‘Meteor’ cultivar was minimally processed in Leuven (Belgium) and the ‘Requena’ cultivar in Cartagena (Murcia, Spain). The storage conditions were (kPa O2/kPa CO2/kPa N2) 100/0/0, 80/15/5, 60/0/40, 50/15/35, 20/15/65 and 21/0.03/≅79 as control. Bell peppers freshly-cut in cubes were stored at 5 °C up to 9–10 days. Changes in total counts of mesophilic, psychrotrophic, yeasts and mould as well as Enterobacteriaceae were monitored. Individual and total sugars and organic acids contents, visual appearance, color, shriveling, off-aroma, crunchiness, flavor and overall quality were also evaluated. The results in both experiments showed that 80 or 50 kPa O2 combined with 15 kPa CO2 maintained the main sensory quality attributes and inhibited growth of the spoilage microorganisms and Enterobacteriaceae in minimally processed bell peppers.  相似文献

The effect of pre-processing storage time and temperature on post-cutting quality of two artichoke cultivars (‘Catanese’ and ‘Violetto Foggiano’) was studied. Artichoke heads were harvested in January 2010 for ‘Catanese’ and in March 2011 for ‘Violetto Foggiano’ from commercial plantations. Freshly harvested artichoke heads were stored at 0, 5, and 12 °C in a humidified flow of air. Initially, and after 3 and 7 days of storage, respiration rate, weight loss, and electrolytic leakage were monitored. Moreover, at each sampling, artichokes were cut in quarters and stored for additional 3 days at 5 °C. On cut artichokes, soon after cutting and after post-cutting storage, visual appearance, color attributes (on outer bract surface, on cut bracts, and on cut receptacle surface) and phenol content were determined. Time and temperature of storage influenced quality attributes of cut artichokes, but to a different extent depending on the cultivar, whereas temperature did not affect the phenol content. ‘Violetto Foggiano’ artichokes benefited from pre-cutting low storage temperature (0 °C), whereas ‘Catanese’ showed physiological injuries on outer bract surfaces, where brown spots occurred. In both cases low temperatures during pre-cutting storage (5 and 0 °C) reduced the browning rate of the cut surface which maintained a higher L* value, compared to artichokes stored at 12 °C. Moreover, pre-cutting storage at 12 °C resulted in a reduction of quality of artichokes due to growth of floral primordia in the form of reddish tissues at the base of the receptacle for both cultivars. Management of storage conditions before cutting is therefore critical in fresh-cut processing operations of artichokes.  相似文献

The Chinese native rice cultivar ‘Maowangu’ expresses a high level of resistance to many races of rice blast (Pyricularia grisea) collected from North China and Japan. ‘Maowangu’ was crossed with 10 Japanese differential cultivars and the susceptible Chinese cultivar ‘Lijiangxintuanheigu’ (LTH). Allelism tests were conducted in the F2 populations with rice blast races. The resistance of ‘Maowangu’ was governed by two dominant genes which were non-allelic to the resistance genes at seven loci: Pi-a, Pi-i, Pi-k, Pi-z, Pi-ta, Pi-b, and Pi-t. To identify the two resistance genes, two F3 lines of ‘Shin 2/Maowangu’ segregating 3R:1S were selected for linkage tests in 1994. One was linked to marker genes C and Amp-3 on chromosome 6 with recombination frequencies of 35.8 ± 6.4% and 42.1 ± 6.2%, respectively, and the other to Amp-1 on chromosome 2 with a recombination frequency of 37.6 ± 6.0%. To confirm these results, two F3 lines of ‘LTH/Maowangu’ were selected for linkage tests in 1995. The one was linked to Amp-3, and other was linked to Amp-1, with recombination frequencies of 36.9 ± 3.1% and 34.3 ± 3.2%, respectively. The two genes on chromosomes 6 and 2 were designated Pi13(t) and Pi14(t), respectively.  相似文献

The allelic diversity in seed storage proteins of 25 bread wheat cultivars grown in Hellas was investigated. In total, 15–20 seeds per cultivar were used for the determination of the alleles present at the loci coding for high‐molecular‐weight glutenin subunits and gliadins. For this purpose, acid polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis for gliadins and SDS‐electrophoresis for glutenins were employed. Analysis of the electrophoretic patterns revealed that intravarietal selections obtained from the cultivar ‘Nestos’, together with the cultivar ‘Eurydice’ which was selected from the cultivar ‘Nestos’, were identical to their original cultivar and to the cultivar ‘Dodoni’. The cultivars ‘Penios’, ‘Siette Cerros E’, ‘Gorgona’ and ‘Louros’, although recorded to differ in descent, were found to be identical at all the loci examined. Finally, it was revealed that four of the Hellenic cultivars carry the wheat‐rye 1BL/1RS translocation. These data could be beneficial for a better understanding of the existing differences in quality and stress‐resistance between the cultivars examined.  相似文献

Crosses were made between four spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivars and five F1, hybrids with one genotype of Hordeum bulbosum L. in two locations to investigate further previous low crossabilities which had been found in the barley cultivar ‘Apex’ with H. bulbosum. Data at all the main steps of the H. bulbosum technique were recorded and statistically analyzed. Significant differences between barley genotypes were demonstrated for all characters. It was confirmed that ‘Apex’ has poor crossability with H. bulbosum. Out of the three F1 hybrids having ‘Apex’ as one parent, two exhibited low crossability similarly to ‘Apex’ but one showed significantly higher seed setting than ‘Apex’. The effect of the location was only significant on seed setting, while genotype X location interactions were significant on seed setting, seed quality and rate of haploid plants in relation 10 florets pollinated. Another problem which has influenced the success rate of the H. bulbosum method was found in the cultivar ‘Havilla’. Although seed setting and seed quality were high for this cultivar, embryo differentiation was low. However, this latter problem was found to influence less the overall success rate than poor crossability. Mahalanobis's distances were calculated and the dendrite of the shortest distances between barley genotypes was plotted.  相似文献
