内蒙古马业协会一匹新锡林郭勒马(太阳花马)因外力导致臀部大面积血肿,由于受伤面积大导致血肿不能吸收,进而液化周围皮下组织形成囊状[1]。穿刺抽取囊内液体,可见液体呈淡红色并伴有组织碎片。马匹体温及精神正常,无跛行,按压局部反应敏感。内部渗出液不断增多,皮下囊区面积不断下延增大。为防止室间隔综合征出现,计划实施外科穿刺放液并进行留置管冲洗,治疗20 d后痊愈。现将此病例分享给广大兽医,供参考。  相似文献

禽脑脊髓炎病毒内蒙古地方毒株NH937株经脑内注射感染.于攻毒后3,5,10,14,20,25,30 d,取攻毒组4只,对照组2只.取材大脑、小脑于95%乙醇中固定,经原位杂交染色,结果:着染部位主要在大脑皮层锥体细胞及皮质下各核团的较大神经元的胞浆内,呈现蓝紫色连成片或单独数个较大颗粒,小脑蒲肯野细胞胞浆内也较多见;此外小胶质细胞胞浆内也发现很多呈阳性.在病情严重时的10 d开始增多,直到病情恢复的30 d时,仍然很普遍.相对于未攻毒的阴性对照组明显增多.说明禽脑脊髓炎过程中脑组织细胞内MIP-1β和IL-8的mRNA大量上调,主要与趋化T淋巴细胞到血管外形成管套,再从管套弥散向周围神经组织;同时趋化小胶质细胞到病毒感染的靶细胞形成卫星现象和噬神经元现象等有关.  相似文献

To identify factors that control coat color in Akita-inu dogs, we sequenced all the exons of the melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R), β-defensin103 (CBD103) and agouti signaling protein (ASIP) genes of dogs with four distinct coat colors, namely, brindle, sesame, red and white. Then we examined correlations among specific alleles and coat color. In the case of the MC1R gene, all white dogs were homozygous for a nonsense mutation, R306ter, while brindle, sesame, and red dogs had at least one R306 allele. In the case of the CBD103 gene, all brindle dogs were heterozygous for the G23del mutation (deletion of codon 23, encoding glycine), while all sesame and red dogs were homozygous for G23. In the case of the ASIP gene, all dogs, regardless of coat color, had at least one S82 H83 allele. A missense mutation in the ASIP gene, P87L, was identified for the first time in some Akita-inu dogs but was not associated with any specific coloration. Our results indicate that the 2 key mutations, R306ter in the MC1R gene and G23del in the CBD103 gene, are associated with the phenotypic discriminations among brindle, red/sesame, and white coats, while no mutation that might potentially be associated with the discrimination of a sesame coat from a red coat is present in the coding sequences of these three genes.  相似文献

The pathophysiology of postparturient paresis is still not completely understood. Knowledge recently acquired in immunology, endocrinology and cell physiology has still to be integrated in order to elucidate the aetiopathogenesis of the disease. For that purpose, the effect of the EDTA infusion model on the plasma concentrations of selected cytokines and growth factors, and of a calcium binding protein was examined in dairy cows. Six 6- to 11-year-old Brown Swiss cows in mid lactation were infused with a 5% solution of Na2EDTA in one jugular vein over a period of 5 h. Blood samples were collected from the contralateral side daily two days before, and then hourly for five hours during the infusion, hourly for five hours after the end of the infusion, and once daily for 10 days thereafter. The plasma concentrations of cortisol, tumour necrosis factor-, interleukin-1 receptor antagonist, granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, granulocyte and macrophage colony-stimulating factor, and the calcium binding protein S-100 were determined. Before the EDTA infusion, during the infusion and for two days thereafter, the mean plasma concentrations of cortisol were significantly higher than those from days 4 to 10 after the infusion. The plasma concentrations of tumour necrosis factor- and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist followed a similar profile. At the end of EDTA infusion, low concentrations of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor were detected in one cow only. On days 3 and 4, the mean plasma concentrations of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor were significantly higher than the pre-infusion values, but this was followed by a significant decrease on post-infusion day 5. From day 4 to 7, the plasma concentrations of S-100 were significantly lower than the pre-infusion values. The importance of these findings in the pathophysiology of postparturient paresis remains to be established.  相似文献

Information related to infection of wild rodents or lagomorphs in Canada by Francisella tularensis, Yersinia pestis, other Yersinia spp., and Clostridium piliforme was searched for this study. Reports on tularemia in humans linked to these species came from diagnostic databases, literature, wildlife health specialists, and public health agencies. Tularemia has been diagnosed in 8 species of wild rodent and 2 species in the genus Lepus in Canada. Tularemia occurred in wild animals, or in humans associated with these species, in all jurisdictions except the Yukon and Nunavut. Tularemia was diagnosed most frequently in beaver, muskrats, and snowshoe hares, and although tularemia is closely linked to cottontail rabbits in the USA, it has not been reported in cottontails in Canada. Tularemia in humans was associated with muskrats and hares more commonly than with beaver. Plague was diagnosed in bushy-tailed woodrats in British Columbia in 1988. Based on surveys, Y. pestis may occur enzootically in southern Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia. Infection with Yersinia pseudotuberculosis and Y. enterocolitica has been diagnosed in beaver, muskrats, and snowshoe hares in many provinces. Tyzzer’s disease has been diagnosed in muskrats in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Quebec and in snowshoe hares in Ontario. Infection with these bacteria is likely much more frequent than indicated by diagnostic records.  相似文献

Background

A poorly understood protein‐losing enteropathy (PLE) disorder has been reported in Yorkshire Terrier dogs.

Objectives

To describe clinical features, intestinal histopathology, and outcome in Yorkshire Terrier dogs with PLE, and to identify variables predictive of outcome.

Animals

Thirty client‐owned Yorkshire Terrier dogs with PLE.

Methods

Retrospective study. Records of dogs with a diagnosis of PLE were reviewed. Intestinal histopathology was interpreted using the World Small Animal Veterinary Association gastrointestinal histopathology classification system. Discriminate analysis techniques were used to identify variables predictive of outcome.

Results

Females outnumbered males (20/30). Median age was 7 years (range 1–12). Common clinical signs were diarrhea (20/30), vomiting (11), ascites and abdominal distension (11), and respiratory difficulty (8). Histopathologic abnormalities included villous lymphatic dilatation, crypt lesions, villous stunting, and variable increases in cellularity of the lamina propria. All dogs were treated with glucocorticoids. Of 23 dogs with long‐term follow‐up, 9 had complete, and 3 had partial, resolution of signs, and 11 failed to respond to treatment. Median survival of responders was 44 months and of nonresponders was 12 months, with 4 dogs experiencing peracute death. Vomiting, monocytosis, severity of hypoalbuminemia, low blood urea nitrogen concentration, and villous blunting were predictive of survival <4 months.

Conclusions

In addition to classic GI signs, Yorkshire Terriers with PLE often show clinical signs associated with hypoalbuminemia and low oncotic pressure. Lymphatic dilatation, crypt lesions, and villous stunting are consistent histopathologic findings. Clinical outcomes are variable, but many dogs experience remission of clinical signs and prolonged survival.  相似文献

An investigation was conducted of mange in five Large White adult sows refractory to pyrethroid treatment (cypermethrin 15%). The most important clinical signs consisted of erythema, hyperkeratosis, alopecic macules, micaceous scaling, follicular pluging, and numerous comedones, especially on the facial region. Skin samples were scraped and punched. Elongate mites were found that were classified as Demodex sp., according to the morphological and histopathological characteristics. The protein, vitamin, and mineral levels contained in the rations were considered to be lower than those recommended to attend the requirements of fattening pigs. Adjustment of the rations was adopted, and the treatment of animals with ivermectin premix (450g/tonne of food) daily orally for a further 7 days was prescribed. The success of treatment was observed 15 days after adoption of these measures, when the beginning of remission of signs was observed. No mites were found on scrapings or biopsy punches after the treatment of the sows.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to improve the reliability of predicting the superovulatory response in Japanese Black cattle. Follicle counts and plasma anti-Müllerian hormone concentrations were analyzed within four days prior to the initiation of superovulation. The single nucleotide polymorphism (guanine or adenine) of the ionotropic glutamate receptor AMPA1 was determined. The plasma anti-Müllerian hormone concentration was positively correlated (P<0.001) with the numbers of all follicles and small (<5 mm) follicles and with the numbers of ova/embryos (P<0.001), fertilized embryos (P<0.001) and transferable embryos (P=0.005). There was no significant difference in follicle counts and superovulatory responses between donor cows bearing guanine/adenine or guanine/guanine alleles of AMPA1. Donor cows with a high plasma anti-Müllerian hormone concentration and homozygous for the guanine-containing allele of AMPA1 were most responsive to superovulation. The results suggest that physiological and genetic markers of superovulation have a synergistic effect on the accuracy of predictions of responsiveness.  相似文献

1. The effect of endotoxin, interleukin‐1β and prostaglandin on fever response was studied in 80 broilers (Hubbard strain). Endotoxin (E. coli, LPS) was injected iv (1.5 μg/kg) and icv (1.5 μg/bird); interleukin‐1 (human recombinant IL‐1β, 80 pg/bird) and prostaglandin E2 (5 μg/bird) were injected icv. Indomethacin (10 mg/kg, iv) pretreatment was also used before iv endotoxin injection.

2. The results showed that indomethacin was able to block the fever response induced by iv endotoxin injection, and IL‐1β and PGE2 were both effective in producing fever when injected icv. These data suggest a prostaglandin‐mediated fever response by broilers, and also a strong evidence of the involvement of endogenous pyrogen (interleukin‐1) in fever response in birds.  相似文献

This study reports evidence of animal exploitation during the Axumite era based on a survey of architectural features, rock art and artefacts recovered from the archaeological site at Axum, northern Ethiopia. Animals and agricultural tools were identified from materials not previously examined. Pottery, rock art and animal remains revealed a range of zoological species. Agricultural implements and sacrificial vessels also provided indirect evidence of animal exploitation. It is concluded that, in addition to plough-based agriculture, the hunting of large wild animals, such as elephants and lions, and the exploitation of domestic cattle, small ruminants and poultry were part of the Axumite subsistence regime. Although it is difficult to reconstruct an overall subsistence pattern based on this study alone, the physical and biological evidence suggests that the Axumites practised combined cultivation and animal herding. Further investigation is required to study the types and breeds of animals and their distribution in time and space.  相似文献

The development of a bacteria-inducible expression system has several advantages compared with persistent expression of anti-bacterial proteins in milk to prevent and treat mastitis. The present study determined whether mastitis responsive promoters could regulate enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) expression in goat mammary epithelial cells (GMECs) in response to challenges with Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus agalactiae. The level of expression of interleukin (IL)-1α was significantly increased in GMECs challenged with E. coli, S. aureus or S. agalactiae compared with untreated GMECs. IL-1β was induced by E. coli and S. aureus, while Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) was induced by E. coli only.GMECs were transfected with IL-1α, IL-1β and TLR2 promoter-EGFP reporter gene lentiviral expression vectors and the levels of expression of EGFP were measured by flow cytometry and Western blot analysis after bacterial challenge. EGFP expression driven by the IL-1α and IL-1β promoters was higher in GMECs challenged with E. coli, S. aureus or S. agalactiae than in untreated GMECs. There were no differences in EGFP expression driven by the TLR2 promoter between GMECs challenged with S. aureus or S. agalactiae and untreated GMECs, but EGFP expression was significantly increased in GMECs challenged with E. coli. Overall, these results indicate that the promoters of some bacteria-inducible genes can regulate EGFP expression in GMECs in response to bacterial challenges. This bacteria-inducible expression strategy could be used for production of mastitis resistant animals by regulating the expression of anti-bacterial proteins in the mammary gland.  相似文献
