基于平行语料库的中国学生的英语特点研究及教学策略——以122篇英语作文为例

由于中西方思维等因素的影响,汉语和英语的语言构成各不相同。因此,由于受到母语的干扰,很多中国学生的英语展现出了其不同于地道英语的特点。本文以英汉平行语料库为检索平台,以句酷批改网(www.pigai.org)为写作平台,以作者自己所教的三个班级共122篇作文为基础语料和从英汉平行语料库中检索的100条地道英文语料为研究对象,对比了两种语料中句长分布、各种词性的使用频率以及词性搭配的特点,从而总结出中国学生的英语特点,并提出相应的教学策略。

本研究运用Swales体裁分析法分析从中外核心期刊工程学领域选取的汉英论文。通过双语语料,对工程学领域内用不同语言撰写的研究方法部分的语篇模式和体裁结构进行对比研究。结果表明:(1)工程领域英汉论文研究方法部分的体裁结构总体上是一致的,但在不同的语言环境中,为确保研究的可信度,作者撰写方法部分的侧重点不一致。(2)工程领域英汉论文研究方法部分在语篇结构上的差异表明:英汉文化的不同导致了在同样学科中对语步-话步的使用不同。     

浅谈中职学校英语词汇学习

英语词汇是英语语言的基础,词汇学习是英语语言教学的重要部分,是英语语言的教学的基础,由于英汉两种语言分属截然不同的两种文化,词汇对应性较低,因此对学生来说,掌握不好英语词汇,就很难真正理解和正确运用英语语言,所以教学中使用正确的词汇教学方法使学生牢固地掌握所学的单词,让他们在英语学习中对这些词汇运用自如就显得极其重要。本文将从如何使用正确的教学方法和使用正确的英语词汇学习策略两方面进行讨论。     

Language barriers in livestock-husbandry research

A sample of 453 papers in animal-production research was analysed from the point of view of the use of languages in international scientific intercommunication.English is found to be the most widely used language in publishing research results. Papers in German and French largely come from their own language area.A great majority of authors add an abstract in English to their papers. Additional abstracts in other languages are chiefly supplied by authors from the German and French language areas.The lists of references added to the examined papers reveal that English is by far the most intensively used language in consulting scientific literature. Authors in English-speaking countries hardly use any other language. Papers in French are scarcely read outside the French language area. The situation for German papers is slightly less gloomy but the knowledge contained in them nevertheless largely fails to reach colleagues in the English and French language areas.The inevitable conclusion is that authors who want to reach a world-wide audience would be well advised to published in English.

Among them, Borrowings, as one of widely used types of English word formation, has drawn people's attention because many English words are borrowed from other languages, such as German, Latin. Obvious distinction between English and Chinese is hypotaxis and parataxis.Emphasis is laid upon the form in English texture while in Chinese upon the meaning.This disparity that Englsih is hypotaxis-prominent while Chinese parataxis-prominent is reflected on all texture cohesive devices,including reference,substitution,conjunction,lexical cohesion etc.Therefore in translation between English and Chinese,the attention should be paid to the characteristics difference so as to properly deal the two languages.

A Brief Analysis of Inefficiency and Time-consuming in English Learning for Chinese Learners

Nowadays it is common to see inefficiency and time-consuming in English learning for Chinese learners. This paper makes a brief analysis of this phenomenon from two major aspects: internal factors and external factors. The former includes age factor, affective factor, efforts and gift and the mode of thinking. The latter includes linguistic factor, sociocultural factor and the examination system. And then some practical strategies are given on the basis of the Critical Period Hypothesis, considering affective factor, making enough efforts and taking advantage of gift, adapting to different modes of thinking, Krashen's Input Hypothesis, the Whorfian Hypothesis and perfecting the examination system in order to improve the phenomenon.     

On Translation of Tourism Materials into English

Cultivation of Intercultural Business Communication Competence in Business English Teaching

Different countries communicate more and more frequently as the development of economic globalization.In business fields,culture becomes into the lever and lubricant influencing those business activities.Thus,cultivating talents with intercultural communication competence is the final purpose of business English teaching.This paper has analyzed the reasons for the lacking of cultivating of intercultural communication competence in business English teaching by using the theories like the relationship between culture and language and communication competence,and then it suggested some ways to cultivate such kind of competence.In these ways,it is hoped that will cultivate more talents with excellent quality of intercultural communication competence and suitable for this age of economic globalization.
