A balance trial was conducted to titrate the effects of tallow on the energy metabolism of wethers fed barley finishing diets. Six dietary levels of tallow (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10%) in a barley finishing diet were fed to six crossbred wethers (35+/-1.1 kg) in a randomized complete block design. Diets were 73% barley, 10% tallow and(or) bentonite, 10% alfalfa pellets, and 7% supplement. There was no effect of tallow level on OM intake (1,103.1+/-51 g/d), OM digestibility (84+/-0.9%), GE digestibility (83+/-1.1%), or cell solubles digestibility (84.2+/-1.2%). The level of tallow quadratically decreased ADF digestibility (P < 0.05), methane emissions, and methane energy as a percentage of GE P < 0.01). There were linear increases in dietary GE (megacalories per kilogram of OM [P < 0.01]), dietary DE (megacalories per kilogram of OM [P < 0.05]), and dietary ME (megacalories per kilogram of OM [P < 0.01]), as dietary tallow increased. Numbers of ruminal protozoa (Entodinium spp. and Polyplastron sp.) decreased linearly (P < 0.05) with increased level of tallow. The energy value of tallow (calculated by difference) was low. The total-tract fatty acid digestibility of tallow was calculated by linear regression, without intercept, after accounting for the fatty acids digested from the base diet (0% tallow fed to a wether in a period). Fatty acids of the same carbon length were pooled for the regression analysis. All linear regressions were significant (P < 0.10) indicating no effect of tallow level on fatty acid digestibility. Lauric acid had low digestibility. The high digestibility of all C16 (89%) and C18 (104%) fatty acids suggests an effect of tallow on endogenous and microbial fatty acid excretion. Fatty acid digestibility was probably a minor contributor to the low energy content of tallow, calculated by difference, in these diets.  相似文献

Targhee x Hampshire lambs (average BW 23 +/- 1 kg) were used in two experiments to determine the effects of finishing on concentrate with an anabolic implant or forage grazing after concentrate feeding on growth, organ and viscera weights, and carcass tissue accretion. In Exp. 1 and 2 lambs were penned by sex and assigned for slaughter at initial (23 kg), intermediate (37 kg), or end BW (ewes, 47.7; wethers 50.4 kg). From 23 to 37 kg BW, lambs were fed all-concentrate diets in drylot (DL) or grazed on alfalfa (ALF). Experiment 1 was a 2 x 2 factorial with 28 lambs; factors were wether vs ewe lambs and unimplanted vs DL implanted with trenbolone acetate-estradiol benzoate. There were no differences in organ and viscera weights due to implant status. However, ADG (P < .03) and lean gain (P < .02) were greater for implanted than for unimplanted wethers (507 vs 357 g and 1,314 vs 656 g, respectively). Ewes did not respond to the implant. Fat accretion was not affected by implantation. Experiment 2 was a 2 x 3 factorial with 42 lambs; factors were wether vs ewe lambs and drylot during growing and finishing phases (DL-DL) vs drylot during growing and alfalfa grazing during finishing (DL-ALF) vs alfalfa grazing during growing and finishing phases (ALF-ALF). In Exp. 2, ADG of DL-DL lambs was greater (P < .01) than ADG of DL-ALF or ALF-ALF lambs. Lambs on ALF-ALF had smaller (P < .05) livers and rumen/reticulum weights but heavier (P < .04) kidney, omasum, small and large intestine, and cecum weights than those on DL. In Exp. 2, DL-ALF and ALF-ALF lambs had overall hindsaddle lean gain equal to those on DL-DL with less mesenteric fat and 100 g less separable fat. Finishing lambs on alfalfa reduced fat accretion without decreasing lean accretion, whereas trenbolone acetate implants for lambs fed concentrate increased BW gain and lean accretion without affecting fat accretion.  相似文献

Water consumption was recorded in 72 piglets of the Lorge White breed, weaned either on the second, sixth, tenth day or on the fourteenth day of age, this parameter was followed till the age of four weeks. The piglets were kept individually in a thermoneutral zone and they received a milk diet with macronutrient content, similar to sow's milk and water content of from 78.47%. The diet was offered to suck nine times a day in two-hour intervals. The piglet age at weaning was found to influence significantly water intake. Daily water ingestion is higher in piglets separated from the sows at a younger age than in piglets weaned later on; it reaches as much as 29% in the first group, 26% in the second group, 28% and 20% of live weight in the third and fourth groups, respectively. If converted to the metabolic weight, the percentage is still higher: more than 40% in the first group at the end of the fourth week. Although the spans of weaning beginnings were always identical in particular groups of piglets (four days), the differences in the water consumption were not the same. The differences were smaller between the first and second group, and the third and fourth group, in comparison with those between the second and third group. This fact confirms previous general statements about the periodization of early postnatal life of piglets. The beginning of weaning of the first two groups belongs to the "suckling" period, while the beginning of weaning of the other groups is within the "weaning" period.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

Although de novo glucose synthesis was 47 per cent higher in wethers fed hay plus barley than in wethers fed hay alone, the plasma glucose concentrations were similar. When two chronic jugular vein catheters were implanted, plasma glucose concentrations rose by 17 per cent and 5 per cent after 4 h in those fed hay alone and hay plus barley respectively. The objective of this study was to determine the apparent metabolisable energy corrected for nitrogen balance (AMEn) of some products containing glycerine from soybean oil (GOIL), a mixture of frying oil and lard (GMIX) and a semi‐purified process (GSP) in broilers of different ages (10, 20, 30 and 40 days post‐hatching), using two methodologies. In trial 1, the basal diets were replaced with 100 g/kg of each studied glycerine product and the diets were supplied ad libitum. Three hundred broilers were used in five replicates, with five, four, three and three animals per cage in each age group, respectively. The AMEn was calculated for each experimental unit. In trial 2, dietary treatments included the addition of glycerine at 0, 40, 80 or 120 g/kg for each crude glycerine product, with 900 broilers in six replicates, using the same number of animals per cage as described in trial 1. Depending on the experimental unit, the feeding was restricted in 88%, 92%, 96% and 100% of estimated intake according to the Cobb guide. The AMEn was determined using linear regression between the feed intake and the AMEn of each diet. In both trials, the total excreta collection method was used. Because of the chemical composition, GMIX was not considered crude glycerine. The mean AMEn values of the products were 20.55 MJ/kg, 15.80 MJ/kg and 15.05 MJ/kg for GMIX, GSP and GOIL, respectively. There was a linear decrease (p < 0.01) in the AMEn values with the increasing age of the broilers. Numerically, it was observed that the AMEn values decreased until 28–30 day post‐hatching and then remained constant until the finishing phase. It is concluded that products containing glycerine can be used as an energy source for broilers, but that AMEn values can vary according to age. Younger broilers have a higher capacity of energy utilisation from these feedstuffs.  相似文献

本试验旨在研究饲喂无抗或有抗饲粮的黄羽肉鸡在不同日龄(21 d、42 d和63 d)下盲肠内容物微生物组成和多样性的变化.试验选用360只1日龄黄羽肉鸡,随机分成3组,每组6个重复,每个重复20只.对照组(NC)不含饲用抗生素;抗生素组(PC)为基础饲粮+200 mg/kg的土霉素钙和250 mg/kg那西肽;小檗碱组(BBR)为基础饲粮+250 mg/kg的BBR.结果表明,1)在门水平上,BBR组42 d和63 d的盲肠内容物中厚壁菌门相对丰度均显著低于21 d,但是拟杆菌门则显著高于21 d(P<0.05);2)在属水平上,不同日龄对NC组的梭菌属和考拉杆菌属、PC组的拟杆菌属以及BBR组的拟杆菌属、未知瘤胃球菌属、未知毛螺旋菌属和乳杆菌属的相对丰度均有显著影响(P<0.05);3)不同日龄显著改变了BBR组的Shannon指数与PC组的Simpson指数(P<0.05);4)差异菌群t-test分析显示,NC组21 d的粪杆菌属相对丰度显著增加,PC组在63 d的拟杆菌属相对丰度显著降低,BBR组42 d的拟杆菌属相对丰度显著增加,而63 d的未知毛螺旋菌属相对丰度则显著降低.因此,不同日龄(21 d、42 d、63 d)的快大型黄羽肉鸡盲肠内容物微生物在门水平和属水平的相对丰度以及微生物多样性均有显著差异,且随日龄增长而显著变化的肠道菌群种类因饲粮不同有所差异.  相似文献

To determine to effect of feeding tall fescue hay infected with endophyte on growth rate, diet digestibility, and serum prolactin, 17 Quarter Horse yearlings were fed a diet of 60% concentrate and 40% tall fescue hay for 5 months. Diets were formulated to meet 1989 NRC recommendations for moderate growth. The dietary treatments included either non-infected (E-, n=9) or infected (E+, n=8) tall fescue hay. Field sampling determined a 52% infection rate of the E+ hay with the endophyte Acremonium coenophialum. Initially and at 29-day intervals, yearlings were weighed and measured for skeletal growth including: (1) height at the withers, (2) length of bone between knee and fetlock, (3) length of bone between hock and fetlock, and (4) the circumference of fore and rear cannon bones. Total fecal collection from the 10 geldings during the last month of the trial permitted the calculation of diet digestibility. Serum samples were taken throughout the trial to determine prolactin response to dietary treatments.The E+ fescue hay did not affect (P>.05) growth rate of yearling horses. Yearlings gained .40 and .38 kg/d when consuming the E− and E+ based diets, respectively. Geldings gained more (P<.05) than fillies. Changes in height at the wither and length and circumference of the fore and rear cannon were positive but did not differ between hay treatments or sexes.E+ fescue hay diets tended to be lower in dry matter, apparent energy, and crude protein digestibility, but values were not statistically different. Fiber digestibility was lower (P<.01) for the diet based on E+ hay. Neutral detergent fiber digestibility averaged 66.2 and 54.4% for E− and E+ diets, respectively.Acid detergent fiber digestibility averaged 78.9 and 64.5% for E− and E+ diets, respectively. Although fiber digestibility of E+ tall fescue hay was lower than E-hay, grain supplementation supportive of a moderate growth rate produced equal growth among yearling horses. Also, no differences in prolactin were apparent between the yearlings fed E− and E+ tall fescue hay.  相似文献

We evaluated the comparative plasma and abomasal fluid disposition kinetics of albendazole (ABZ) and its metabolites in calves either grazing on pasture or fed a grain-based concentrate diet. Six male Holstein calves (weight 180 to 200 kg) were allowed to graze on lush pasture for three weeks before intraruminal administration of ABZ at 10 mg kg-1(pasture group). After a three-week wash-out period, the same animals were housed and fed on a grain-based concentrate diet for three weeks prior to receiving the same ABZ treatment (concentrate group). Jugular blood and abomasal fluid samples were collected over 120 hours post-treatment. Plasma and abomasal fluid samples were analysed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The digesta transit time was measured using cobalt (Co) as a fluid marker; abomasal fluid and faecal samples were collected and Co concentrations measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Complementary studies of the in vitro dissolution of ABZ particles at different pH values were also conducted. The pH of abomasal fluid collected from animals kept under both feeding conditions was registered. Increased concentrations of ABZ sulphoxide (ABZSO) and sulphone (ABZSO2) in plasma, resulting in significantly higher Cmax and area under the curve (AUC) values for both metabolites, were obtained in calves fed on the concentrate diet compared to those grazing on pasture. Enhanced abomasal fluid levels of ABZ and ABZSO were observed in concentrate-fed calves. The mean retention time of the digestive fluid marker in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract was significantly longer in the animals fed the grain-based diet. The in vitro dissolution of ABZ at a pH value equivalent to that obtained in the abomasum of the concentrate-fed calves (1.75) was significantly greater than that obtained at the pH registered in pasture-fed animals (2.00). The characterisation of the kinetic/metabolic behaviours and the resultant efficacy of antiparasitic drugs in animals reared under different management conditions may be relevant in increasing parasite control in livestock.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

1. The influence of the age of broiler chickens on ileal amino acid (AA) digestibilities in three cereals was examined. The digestibility estimates, including both apparent (AID) and standardised (SID) coefficients, for wheat, triticale and barley samples were determined using 14 and 28 d old broilers of mixed sex, fed diets containing the test grains as the only source of protein.

2. Each assay diet was offered to five replicate cages of 14 and eight birds respectively, for the 14 and 28 day samplings. On both sampling days, the contents from the lower half of the ileum were collected for determination of the AID coefficients. The SID coefficients were calculated using ileal endogenous amino acid (EAA) losses previously determined from birds fed an N-free diet.

3. The average AID for essential AA (EAA) in triticale and barley were significantly higher at 28 day compared to those at 14 days. In contrast, the magnitude of AID coefficients of AA in wheat was found to be in larger in the younger chickens.

4. Correction of AID for EAA losses increased the values of digestibility coefficients by an average of about 7%. The SID values of AA in wheat was not influenced by the age of broilers. The SID of most AA in triticale, and of all the AA in barley, were higher in 28-day-old chickens compared with their 14-day-old counterparts. The results suggested that the SID coefficients of EAA in wheat determined at day 28 could be applied to feed formulations for 14-day-old broilers, but in the case of triticale and barley, the values obtained in older chickens were not applicable in younger birds and vice versa.  相似文献

The purpose of this research was to establish the influence of 3 j Cx cellulase applied per gram of COT concentrate mixture, fed in combination with a milk diet acidified by formic acid to the value of pH 4.6, on calf growth performance in one metabolism and two field experiments. In the metabolism experiment two groups of calves, with six animals in each, were fed acidified whole milk, which was diluted stage by stage till weaning at 60 days of age. The average live weight gain in the control at the end of the milk feeding period, i.e. from 14 to 60 days of age, was 29.90 kg. This corresponds to a daily live weight gain of 0.650 g. The total live weight gain of male calves in the experimental group was 29.30 kg, corresponding to a daily live weight gain of 0.638 g (Tab. I). Tab. II shows the average feed and nutrient intakes per kg live weight gain. The calves which received the enzyme supplement tend to have the higher feed conversion rate. During the forage feeding period, i.e. from 61 to 90 days of age, the average daily live weight gains were 1.10 kg and 0.980 kg in the control and experimental groups, respectively (Tab. III). The average live weight of 90 days old male calves was 107.70 kg and 103.90 kg in the control and experimental groups, respectively. The amount of consumed nutrients (digestible protein and starch units); in relation to the total feed intakes, is lower in the experimental groups, which proves the higher feed conversion rate (P less than 0.05).(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

One hundred forty-four Angus male calves were assigned to one of five slaughter-age groups: 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 mo of age. After weaning, one-half of the calves within slaughter age were castrated. One-half of the 12-, 15-, 18- and 24-mo age groups of each sex were further randomly allotted to a high-energy (HE) or low-energy (LE) finishing diet. Eight bulls and eight steers assigned to the 9-mo slaughter group were fed the HE diet only. Samples from the longissimus muscle (LM) were taken at the 12th rib for histological evaluations of fat deposits. Thin sections from the LM at the 11th rib were stained for lipid, collagen and elastin. Steaks from the LM were cooked and evaluated by a sensory panel and sheared by a Warner-Bratzler shear (WBS) device. The 9-10-11th rib sections were separated into muscle, fat and bone. Collagen, elastin and collagen solubility were determined chemically. Bulls had heavier carcasses, less fat and lower sensory scores for tenderness and juiciness than steers. Steers fed the HE diet had lower WBS values than bulls on either diet. Cooking losses were higher for bulls at 12, 18 and 24 mo than for steers. Histological evaluation showed that collagen content was higher for bulls than for steers and higher for cattle fed the LE diet than those fed the HE diet. Among cattle on the HE diet, the 9-mo cattle had more collagen than all older groups. Neither sex nor diet had an effect on elastin content shown by histological evaluation, but 12-mo cattle had the most elastin and the 15- and 18-mo cattle had the least elastin. Collagen content determined by chemical analysis was not affected by sex, diet or slaughter age. Correlation coefficients among histologically and chemically evaluated collagen and elastin and meat traits were too low to be of practical importance. The time-intensive histological techniques used in our study provided little additional information over that obtained from visually evaluated or chemically measured meat traits.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of sex on the metabolism of antipyrine by measuring the antipyrine plasma clearance as well as excretion of three major metabolites in urine in cattle of different ages. The experiment was carried out on 10 female and 10 male cattle of Black and White breed. The antipyrine test was carried out at 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 and 18 months of age for each animal (single dose of 10 mg/kg antipyrine were given intravenously). The concentrations of antipyrine, 4-hydroxyantipyrine (4-OHA), 3-hydroxymethylantipyrine (HMA) and norantipyrine (NORA) were measured in plasma and urine by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The apparent volume of distribution of antipyrine (aVd) decreased significantly between 1 and 18 months of age, but mean aVd values observed in males and females were not statistically different. The experimental period was characterised by a steady decrease (statistically significant) in antipyrine half-life (t1/2beta). These values did not differ significantly between males and females under 12 months. In 12 and 18 month-old animals the antipyrine half-life in the females was significantly shorter than in the males. The systemic clearance (Cls) of antipyrine increased significantly between 1 and 18 months of age. No significant differences were observed between systemic clearance of antipyrine in males and females under 12 months. In 12 and 18 month-old animals the Cls values were significantly higher in females than in males. Following intravenous administration, recovery of antipyrine and its three main metabolites increased significantly with age. These values did not differ significantly between males and females under 12 month of age. In 12 and 18 month-old females the excretion of 4-OHA and HMA in urine was significantly higher than in males at the same age. The excretion of NORA and unchanged antipyrine in males and females did not differ significantly. The partial clearances of antipyrine metabolites (Cl(m)) increased significantly between 1 and 18 months of age. No significant differences were observed between Cl(m) values in males and females under 12 months of age. In 12 and 18 month-old females the partial clearances of 4-OHA and HMA were significantly higher than in males. The clearance of NORA was significantly higher in 18 month-old females than in males. In conclusion, we report a sex-linked difference in plasma antipyrine clearance and urinary excretion of the main metabolites of antipyrine in cattle over 12 months of age, the females being the more active metabolizers.  相似文献

Yearling Angora wethers (n = 24; 24+/-1.0 kg BW) were used in an experiment with a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement of treatments to investigate effects of bovine somatotropin (bST) treatment and dietary level of ruminally undegraded protein on DMI, ADG, and mohair production. Untreated casein (UC) or casein treated with formaldehyde (TC) was included at 7% DM of a diet containing 11% CP and 46% concentrate. A slow-release bST form was administered weekly to deliver 0 (Control) or 100 microg/ (kg BW.d) of bST. Plasma concentrations of bST and IGF-I were increased (P < .05) during the 7-d period following bST injection. Ruminal fluid ammonia N concentration was lower (P < .01) for TC than for UC before feeding (6.6 vs 7.5 mg/dL) and 4 h later (8.2 vs 12.2 mg/dL), and total VFA concentration was lower (P < .01) for TC than for UC. Treatment with bST decreased (P = .08) DMI with UC (1.15 vs .91 kg/d) and increased (P = .08) DMI with TC (.95 vs 1.06 kg/d). Formaldehyde treatment of casein increased ADG (65, 74, 55, and 91 g/d; P = .03) and clean fleece production (P < .01; 14.1, 17.3, 15.0, and 18.4 g/d for UC-Control, TC-Control, UC-bST, and TC-bST, respectively), with no effect of bST during the 8-wk period of treatment or for the 8 wk thereafter (P > .10). In conclusion, with yearling Angora wethers, bST does not seem useful to enhance mohair production and may not alter effects of dietary level of ruminally undegradable protein on mohair production.  相似文献

The effect of feed particle size on the growth performance and intestinal morphology of Hyline chickens was studied. Sixty one‐day‐old chickens were randomly assigned into two groups with five replicates per group and six chickens per replicate. The control group (CG) was fed pelleted feed and the experimental group (EG) was fed crumbled feed. The geometric mean diameter (GMD) of the pelleted and crumbled feed was approximately 1.2 and 0.8 mm respectively. The trial was carried out from day 15 to day 69 of the lives of the chickens. During the experimental period, the average daily feed intake (ADFI), average daily gain (ADG) and feed conversion rate ( FCR) were calculated. At 42 and 69 days of age, fifteen chickens from each group were slaughtered for the intestinal morphology analyses. The morphologies of various segments of the intestine were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that from 15 to 42 days of age, the FCR of the CG was higher than that of the EG, but the final body weight was lower in the CG than in the EG (p < 0.05). The villi heights in the duodenum, jejunum and ileum were shorter in the CG than in the EG (p < 0.05). The villi tips in the duodenum and jejunum of the CG were broken, but they were protected in the EG. At 69 days of age, the BW and the whole intestinal villi height of the CG were greater than those of the EG (p < 0.05). The villi in the duodenum and jejunum in the CG were better than 42 days, but the tips of the duodenal villi in the EG were slightly broken. In conclusion, feeding chickens crumbled feed from 15 to 42 days of age and then feeding them pelleted feed was beneficial to the growth performance of the Hyline chickens, as the pelleted feed would break the intestinal villi of young chickens, but the intestinal villi become stronger with the chicken growth.  相似文献

The effects of supplying increasing ruminal doses of exogenous polysaccharide-degrading enzymes (EPDE) on rumen fermentation and nutrient digestion were studied using eight ruminally cannulated heifers, four of which were also duodenally cannulated, in a replicated Latin square. The heifers were fed a diet of 85.5% rolled barley grain and 14% barley silage (DM basis), and once daily they were given intraruminal doses of 0 (Control), 100, 200, or 400 g of a preparation containing polysaccharide-degrading enzymes. Enzyme treatment decreased ruminal pH (linear, P<.001) and increased ammonia N (quadratic, P<.001) concentration. The ruminally soluble fraction and effective degradability of feed DM in situ were increased (quadratic response, P<.001) by enzyme treatment. Ruminal administration of EPDE increased ruminal fluid carboxymethylcellulase and xylanase activities linearly (P<.001) and beta-glucanase activity quadratically (P<.01), decreased (quadratic response, P<.05) ruminal fluid viscosity, and did not affect (P>.05) ruminal fluid amylase activity. Elevated levels of fibrolytic activities in the rumen resulted in increased (quadratic, P<.001) carboxymethylcellulase, xylanase, and beta-glucanase (P<.01) activities in duodenal digesta. Duodenal amylase activity and reducing sugar concentration were also increased (quadratic responses, P<.001 and P<.05, respectively) by EPDE. Xylanase activity of fecal DM was increased linearly (P<.05) with increasing ruminal EPDE levels. Apparent digestibilities of DM, crude protein, and NDF were not affected by EPDE supplementation. Enzyme treatment did not affect (P>.05) urinary excretion of allantoin and uric acid, or concentrations of glucose and urea in blood.  相似文献

Healthy male turkeys not receiving monensin in their feed were treated with tiamulin by various methods and at different ages. Nine cycles of treatments were performed at the ages of 26, 40, 61, 89, 103, 117, 131, 145, and 160 days. Intramuscular of subcutaneous injections of 12.5 mg/kg tiamulin up to 145 days did not result in any signs of toxicity or impair growth rate. Administration at a dose of up to 25 mg/kg, using the drinking-water-deprivation technique, caused no effect in turkeys up to 160 days (marketing age).  相似文献

Pathology of the colon in pigs infected with Trichuris suis and fed an inulin and a non-inulin containing diet was studied to investigate the inflammatory response induced and the influence of inulin on this. Twenty-nine pigs were allocated into four groups (N-7, I-7, N-9 and N/I-9). Groups N-7, N-9 and N/I-9 were given a diet with non-fermentable carbohydrates, and group I-7 was fed a diet including fermentable carbohydrates (inulin). After 2 weeks, all pigs were inoculated with 2000 T. suis eggs. Seven weeks post-infection (p.i.), groups N-7 and I-7 were killed and group N/I-9 changed to inulin diet to study the influence of inulin on already established T. suis. Nine weeks p.i., groups N-9 and N/I-9 were killed. Trichuris suis were collected from the colon for enumeration. Tissues from the colon of each pig were taken for histological and immunohistochemical quantitative and semi-quantitative evaluations of heterophils, eosinophils, mast cells, IgA(+), IgG(+), IgM(+) and CD3(+) cells. The findings were compared with tissues from seven uninfected pigs of the same age. Pigs fed inulin had significantly fewer worms compared with pigs on the non-fermentable carbohydrate diet. The number of inflammatory cells in the colonic mucosa was increased in all T. suis-infected pigs compared with uninfected controls. The numbers of eosinophils, mast cells, IgA(+), IgG(+) and CD3(+) cells were significantly lower in pigs fed inulin than pigs fed non-fermentable carbohydrate. Whether this is a direct effect of inulin or a secondary effect due to the lower parasitic burden in inulin fed pigs is not known.  相似文献
