In a field experiment on an organic soil, a pre-emergence application of paraquat at 2–24 kg a.i. (active ingredient)/ha was made to a plot on which onions and lettuce were grown; and similar broadcast applications of linuron, both with and without carbofuran, at two field rates, to plots on which carrots were grown. Paraquat generally increased the bacterial and actinomycetal populations while linuron inhibited the same but enhanced the numbers of fungal propagules, although it decreased the proportion of soil penicillia in the population. The overall effect of linuron was not changed by the admixture of carbofuran. However, the changes in microbial populations by either herbicides were not substantial enough to make gross or lasting differences in levels of available N and P, and in the CO2 evolution rate.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Linuron is a globally used phenylurea herbicide, and a large number of studies have been made on the microbial degradation of the herbicide. However, to date, the few bacteria able individually to mineralise linuron have been isolated only from European agricultural soils. An attempt was made to isolate linuron‐mineralising bacteria from Japanese river sediment using a uniquely designed river ecosystem model (microcosm) treated with 14C‐ring‐labelled linuron (approximately 1 mg L?1). RESULTS: A linuron‐mineralising bacterium that inhabits river sediment was successfully isolated. The isolate belongs to the genera Variovorax and was designated as strain RA8. Strain RA8 gradually used linuron in basal salt medium (5.2 mg L?1) with slight growth. In 15 days, approximately 25% of 14C‐linuron was mineralised to 14CO2, with 3,4‐dichloroaniline as an intermediate. Conversely, in 100‐fold diluted R2A broth, strain RA8 rapidly mineralised 14C‐linuron (5.5 mg L?1) and more than 70% of the applied radioactivity was released as 14CO2 within 3 days, and a trace amount of 3,4‐dichloroaniline was detected. Additionally, the isolate also degraded monolinuron, metobromuron and chlorobromuron, but not diuron, monuron or isoproturon. CONCLUSION: Although strain RA8 can grow on linuron, some elements in the R2A broth seemed significantly to stimulate its growth and ability to degrade. The isolate strictly recognised the structural difference between N‐methoxy‐N‐methyl and N,N‐dimethyl substitution of various phenylurea herbicides. The effects of several herbicides used in pome fruit orchards on the germination of spores and growth of mycelia of Botrytis cinerea, Mucor piriformis and Penicillium expansum in vitro and the survival of propagules of these fungi in soil were studied. Diuron in agar at 4–128 μg ml?1 reduced germination of spores of B. cinerea and M. piriformis, and 2,4-D and paraquat at 32 μg ml?1 similarly affected B. cinerea and P. expansum. Several herbicides at 128 μg ml?1 in agar reduced growth of B. cinerea and M. piriformis but were ineffective against P. expansum. Propagule survival levels of the three fungi generally were lower in both autoclaved and non-autoclaved soil amended with herbicides than in non-amended soil. This effect was greatest in non-autoclaved soil, suggesting involvement of microbial antagonists. The most effective herbicides for reduction of fungal propagules in soil were 2,4-D, diuron, and paraquat.  相似文献

为了考察杀虫剂施用对尿素态氮在土壤中转化过程的影响,采用室内培养法,通过测定土壤铵态氮和硝态氮质量分数以及反硝化损失的动态变化,研究了在施用尿素的土壤(有效氮含量为200 mg/kg)中分别添加不同剂量的吡虫啉和毒死蜱2种杀虫剂时,杀虫剂对尿素的水解、土壤氮的硝化及反硝化过程的影响。结果表明:吡虫啉和毒死蜱各剂量处理在第3天时对尿素水解具有显著的促进作用(PPPPP<0.01),减少反硝化损失量39.69%。  相似文献

Summary. The decomposition of seven urea herbicides by Bacillus sphaericus was studied. Experiments with 14C-labelled monolinuron demonstrated that monolinuron was degraded by removal of CO2 from the ureido portion of the molecule and leaving the /Kchloroaniline moiety. Tests with monuron, diuron, monolinuron, linuron, metobromuron, fluometuron and methabenzthiazuron indicated that B. sphaericus was only able to decompose the methoxy compounds monolinuron, linuron and metobromuron in this way. All compounds were identified by infrared spectroscopy. A pathway for degradation of the herbicides by B. sphaericus is proposed.  相似文献

The effects of lenacil, terbacil, chlorthiamid and 2,4,5-T at 100 ppm on carbon dioxide evolution, oxygen uptake and nitrogen transformation in two soils have been investigated for several months in the laboratory. The herbicides had no effect on CO2 output from either Boddington Barn soil (organic carbon content 1.6%, pH 6.1) or Triangle soil (organic carbon content 3.7%, pH 4.8) apart from 2,4,5-T which reduced it sometimes. All the herbicides caused temporary reductions in O2. uptake, but in Triangle soil treated with 2,4,5-T a significant reduction was observed during the second half of the incubation. 2,4,5-T and to a lesser extent chlorthiamid, reduced nitrification in Triangle soil. All the herbicides slightly increased mineralization of nitrogen except 2,4,5-T which had variable effects in Triangle soil.  相似文献

Summary. When paraquat was added to four different soils, nitrification was not appreciably affected but ammonification of soil organic-matter nitrogen was slightly retarded. Carbon dioxide evolution as well as oxygen consumption was used as an index of metabolic activity of soil micro-organisms and paraquat had a stimulatory effect at higher concentrations. Oxidation of added sulphur was slightly depressed. Paraquat decreased both the total mould and bacterial populations in Chehalis silt loam. After 30 days incubation the percentages of Streptomyces and Penicillia were markedly increased by most treatments but were little affected in Chehalis silt clay and Woodburn soils. Except for the temporary suppression of nitrification, paraquat had no significant influence on general microbial activities of importance to soil fertility. 为探究威百亩对土壤硝化作用的影响及作用机制,通过理化分析和变性梯度凝胶电泳方法研究浓度为20、100和500 mg/kg威百亩熏蒸处理对土壤硝化作用及amoA型硝化细菌群落结构的影响。结果表明,威百亩熏蒸处理0、14、28 d后,3种浓度处理的土壤硝化率与对照差异不显著;处理56 d后,20、100和500 mg/kg浓度处理的土壤硝化率分别为81.15%、76.66%和94.08%,前两者与对照差异不显著,后者与对照差异显著;而处理84 d后,3种浓度处理的土壤硝化率与对照差异均不显著。与对照相比,3个浓度威百亩熏蒸处理不同时间后土壤amoA型硝化细菌群落的均匀度指数差异不显著。熏蒸处理14 d后,浓度20、100 mg/kg威百亩处理的土壤amoA型硝化细菌群落的香农多样性指数和丰富度指数分别为1.00、10.97和0.84、7.79,与对照的0.92和9.78均无显著差异;而浓度500 mg/kg威百亩处理的香农多样性指数和丰富度指数分别为0.59、5.77,显著低于对照。表明威百亩对土壤硝化强度的影响较amoA型硝化细菌群落延迟,说明土壤中硝化作用的强弱并非完全决定于土壤amoA型硝化细菌的作用。  相似文献

ABSTRACT One drawback of traditional methods for fungal biomass measurement is the inability to distinguish biomass of an introduced fungus from that of the indigenous microbial community in nonsterile soil. We quantified biomass of a specific fungal biological control agent in nonsterile soil using epifluorescence microscopy and image analysis of green fluorescent protein (GFP)-expressing Trichoderma harzianum (ThzID1-M3). Numbers of colony forming units on a semiselective medium were compared with biomass estimates from image analysis, after ThzID1-M3 was incubated in soil that either remained moist (-0.05 MPa) for 14 to 21 days or remained moist for approximately 5 days and then was allowed to dry to <-3.0 MPa. Recovery of significant numbers of ThzID1-M3 propagules lagged approximately 3 days behind initiation of hyphal growth. Reductions in both colony counts and biomass were observed over time when soil was allowed to dry. However, in soil that remained moist, colony counts increased over a 14- to 21-day period even though biomass declined after approximately 3 to 5 days. Our results confirm that use of GFP, along with epifluorescence microscopy, is a useful tool to distinguish active hyphal biomass, the form of the fungus that is functional for biological control, from inactive propagules such as conidia or chlamydospores that are enumerated by plate counts.  相似文献

The effects of application of the herbicides fluazifop‐p‐butyl and fomesafen and the commercial mixture of these herbicides on the microbial activity of a soil, cultivated with common bean under no‐till (NTS) and conventional‐till (CTS) systems, were evaluated. Microbial respiration was monitored for 63 days after application (DAA) of the herbicides, and the following evaluated at 12 and 51 DAA: microbial biomass carbon (MBC), microbial quotient (qMIC), metabolic quotient (qCO2), percentage of bean root colonisation by mycorrhizal fungi and grain yield at the end of the cycle. A greater microbial respiratory rate was observed under NTS, with fluazifop‐p‐butyl providing the lowest respiration. At 12 DAA, MBC and qMIC were most affected negatively by fomesafen and by the commercial mixture of the two herbicides. Mycorrhizal colonisation was affected by the herbicides only at 12 DAA under CTS; however, in both periods, the highest value was found under NTS. All the herbicides caused a decrease in the MBC and qMIC values at 51 DAA; the qCO2, which is related to the soil system stability, indicated a greater NTS balance over CTS. The herbicide fomesafen induced lower stability in the system. Lower grain yield was obtained without weed control (no herbicides) and with fomesafen‐only treatments, which may be attributed to the high weed infestation in the experimental area.  相似文献

The impacts of elevated CO2 and soil water on the population dynamics, adult fecundity and nymphal period of the bird cherry-oat aphidRhopalsiphum padi (Linnaeus) were evaluated in three experiments: (i)Combined effects of CO 2 and soil water on aphid populations. Spring wheat was grown in pots at three CO2 concentrations (350, 550 and 700 ppm) and three soil water levels (40%, 60% and 80% of field water capacity, FWC) in field open-top chambers (OTC) and infested with the bird cherry-oat aphid. Aphid population dynamics were recorded throughout the growing season; at the same time, adult fecundity and duration of the nymphal period were recorded. Chemical composition of spring wheat leaves was also analyzed. (ii)Indirect effects of CO 2 concentrations and soil water on aphid adult fecundity and nymphal period. The experiment was conducted with the leaf discs method in the laboratory. Aphids were reared on leaf discs excised from the treated wheat in OTC with different CO2 and soil water levels. (iii)Direct effects of CO 2 concentrations on aphid adult fecundity and nymphal period. Aphids were reared on leaf discs excised from the wheat grown under natural conditions. The experiment was conducted with the leaf disc method in OTC with the three CO2 concentrations. It was found that the direct effect of CO2 concentration on aphid population parameters was minor. CO2 and soil water affected aphid population indirectly through their effects on wheat characteristics. The aphid population under 550 ppm CO2 was far larger than the one under 350 ppm CO2, whereas the population under 700 ppm CO2 was slightly higher than that under 550 ppm CO2. The largest aphid population was obtained with the 60% soil water treatment, regardless of CO2 treatment. The effects of CO2 concentration on aphid population were, however, not significantly correlated with soil water level. Adult fecundity increased with CO2 concentration, the highest fecundity being achieved under 60% FWC treatments. The nymphal period was not affected by CO2 concentration. The shortest period occurred under 60% FWC. Atmospheric CO2 and soil water had significant effects on the chemical composition of the wheat leaves. Acute and long-term mammalian toxicity studies have been made with the organophosphorus insecticide tetrachlorvinphos. The acute oral LD50 values for technical material were greater than the maximum dose which could be administered to guinea-pig and domestic fowl (5000 and 1500 mg/kg respectively). For formulations, the figures range from about 500 to >5000 mg/kg, those containing phenol having the lowest values. In 13-week feeding studies, most changes occurred at dietary concentrations of 800 parts/million or greater with inhibition of plasma cholinesterase appearing to be the most sensitive indicator of exposure. 200 parts/million was considered to be without toxicological effect in rats and dogs after 3 months feeding. In a two-year study in rats 125 parts/million produced no changes of toxicological significance.  相似文献

Arundo donax L. (giant reed) is an invasive perennial plant that has spread widely in riparian areas in California, where it has altered wildlife habitats, created a fire hazard, compromised water conservation efforts, and affected flood control. Currently, physical removal is the primary means of controlling this weed, which is ineffective because of prolific asexual reproduction from an extensive rhizome system. We conducted controlled experiments on the sprouting potential of vegetative propagules, effects of storage duration and conditions on sprouting, and survival and growth of propagules in various soil types and moisture regimens. Sprouting and regrowth varied greatly with propagule type and size and with treatment and duration of storage after removal from the plant. Over 90% of stem and rhizome pieces with at least one node sprouted. Stem sprouting was affected by prior storage duration, temperature and moisture, whereas only storage duration and moisture affected rhizome sprouting. Sprouting was reduced by drying propagules at 30 °C for 1 week and by storage in a soil slurry. After 16 weeks, even propagules maintained optimally in moist soil showed reduced sprouting. Rhizome pieces sprouted readily from a soil depth of 25 cm, whereas stem pieces sprouted from less than 10 cm. Responsiveness of asexual reproduction in A. donax to environmental cues suggests that mechanical control can be improved by careful timing and treatment of cut biomass pieces to minimize or inhibit sprouting.  相似文献

For efficient integrated management of verticillium wilt in olive (VWO), it is important to establish whether irrigation treatments (with Verticillium dahliae‐free water) that mitigate the disease in V. dahliae‐infested soil, also reduce the levels of more and less persistent propagules of the pathogen in the soil. Effects of irrigation on VWO and V. dahliae propagules were evaluated under natural environmental conditions. Potted plants were irrigated (pathogen‐free water) to two ranges of soil water content (RWC; high and low) at three surface drip‐irrigation frequencies (daily, weekly, and daily during some periods and otherwise weekly). VWO and total inoculum density (ID), density of less persistent micropropagules (MpD) and more persistent sclerotia in wet soil (SwD), and sclerotia density for air‐dried soil (SdD) were monitored. A logistic model (multiple sigmoid) of disease incidence revealed the lowest parameter values in treatments irrigated daily. Daily frequency of irrigation showed significantly lower disease incidence (39.2%) and disease intensity index (43.9%) and MpD (88.0%) values as areas compared with other frequencies, regardless of the RWC. High RWC significantly reduced (70.8–84.9%) ID, SwD and SdD as areas, but significantly increased (18.0%) the incidence of infected plants (IIP), regardless of the irrigation frequency. The disease incidence was not correlated with temperature. Daily irrigation to low RWC mitigated the VWO and the IIP, kept soil to the lowest MpD and resulted in the lowest SdD level at the end of the trial. Results suggested that less persistent propagules could have played a part in the disease development.  相似文献

The degradation of [14C] benzoyl prop ethyl (SUFFIX,a ethyl N-benzoyl-N-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-2-aminopropionate) in four soils has been studied under laboratory conditions. The major degradation product of benzoylprop ethyl at up to 4 months after treatment was its corresponding carboxylic acid (II). On further storage this compound became firmly bound to soil before it underwent a slow debenzoylation process which led to the formation of a number of products including N-3,4-dichlorophenylalanine (IV), benzoic acid, 3,4-dichloroaniline (DCA), which was mainly present complexed with humic acids, and other polar products. Although these polar products were not identified, they were probably degradation products of DCA, since they were also formed when DCA was added to soil. No 3,3′,4,4′-tetrachloroazobenzene (TCAB) was detected in any of the soils at limits of detectability ranging from 0.01-0.001 parts/million. Since N-3,4-dichlorophenylalanine (IV) and 3,4-dichloroaniline were transient degradation products of benzoylprop ethyl, the metabolism in soil of radiolabelled samples of these compounds was also studied. In these laboratory experiments the persistence of the herbicide increased as the organic matter content of the soil increased and the time for depletion of half of the applied benzoylprop ethyl varied from 1 week in sandy loam and clay loam soils to 12 weeks in a peat soil.  相似文献

The effect of repeated annual applications over 7-8 years of MCPA, triallate, simazine and linuron to field plots on the evolution of CO2 and mineralization of nitrogen in soil samples incubated in the laboratory is described. The plots were either cropped and treated with standard doses, or uncropped and sprayed with doses 3-4 times above the level used in agricultural practice. While the applications of MCPA and tri-allate did not exert any inhibitory effects in soils from the uncropped plots those of simazine and linuron led to a lowering in CO2 output in several instances and in mineral N on infrequent occasions. These effects are assumed to be the result of a difference in the content of easily-degradable organic matter between the treated plots and the controls. A direct anti-microbial action of the two herbicides is not very probable because in laboratory experiments with simazine up to 512 ppm the output of CO2 and the mineralization of N was not affected while linuron at 500 ppm gave only a minor depression in CO2 evolution. Effects on soil fertility are unknown but seem unlikely in view of the small extent and infrequency of the reductions observed. On the cropped plots the MCPA and tri-allate treatment showed no effects. With linuron and simazine a significant lowering in respiration and mineralization of N occurred on single occasions only, during a 5-year period.  相似文献

 温室测定结果:拟粗壮螺旋线虫(Helicotylenchus pseudorobusius)接种量在每100cm3土壤100~1000条的条件下,接种30天后棉苗生长量比无线虫对照苗显著降低(P<0.05)。抗枯萎品种86-1在单接枯萎菌无线虫处理中不发生枯萎病,在枯萎菌(Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum)接种量为每克土7.5×105孢子和线虫(每100cm3±500~1000条)组合处理中发病,棉苗枯萎病情指数与线虫接种量之间呈正相关(γ=0.97)。田间试验结果表明:防治线虫和枯萎病复合症用薰蒸剂棉隆每m28~14g处理土壤比用非薰蒸性杀线虫剂克百威(呋哺丹),丙线磷(益收宝)和克线磷的效果更好。  相似文献

The effect of soil solarization on the viability of plant pathogens and disease was evaluated in Victoria. The treatment was tested in NW and S Victoria with natural soil inoculated with high inoculum levels of Eusarium oxysporum, Plasmodiophora brassicae, Sclerotium cepivorum, Sclerotinia minor, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Verticillium dahliae and the nematodes Meloidogyne javanica and Pratylenchus penetrans. Other experiments were established at sites with a previous history of disease.
Solarization of artificially inoculated soils reduced inoculum levels to at least a depth of 10 cm and effectively controlled diseases caused by P. brassicae on broccoli, and S. minor and S. sclerotiorum on lettuce. The treatment reduced inoculum levels but not disease of carnations and watermelons affected by E. oxysporum , tomatoes affected by M. javanica , celery affected by P. penetrans , and onions affected by S. cepivorum. Results were inconclusive for tomatoes affected by V. dahliae.
Experiments in naturally infested soils established that solarization reduced disease and increased yields of Chinese cabbage affected by P. brassicae , celery affected by P. penetrans , lettuce affected by S. minor and watermelon affected by root rot.
Solarization reduced disease of onions affected by S. cepivorum but did not significantly increase yield. At all sites the treatment reduced the number of viable propagules of the pathogens to at least a depth of 10 cm.  相似文献

Degradation of ioxynil (4-hydroxy-3,5-diiodobenzonitrile) to CO2 was detected in a clay loam, high organic matter content soil. The majority of radioactivity was recovered as 14CO2 from both ring-labeled and cyano-labeled ioxynil; however, 14CO2 was always released from cyano-labeled ioxynil at a much faster initial rate. No 14CO2 was released in treated sterile soil, either aerobically or anaerobically. Production of 14CO2 from cyanolabeled and ring-labeled ioxynil was greatly inhibited by HgCl2 (10?5M), and p-chloromercuribenzoate (5 × 10?5M), but slightly inhibited by ferricyanide (10?4M). No 14CO2 was evolved from ring-labeled ioxynil under anaerobic conditions. These observations indicated that the degradation of ioxynil to CO2 in soil was a microbial action and was oxygen dependent. This is consistent with the known mechanism of oxygenases in degrading benzene rings. Anaerobically, a small amount of 14CO2 was released from cyano-labeled ioxynil. Thin-layer chromatographic analyses of the culture supernatant revealed that 3,5-diiodo-4-hydroxybenzamide and 3,5-diiodo-4-hydroxybenzoic acid were intermediate metabolites.  相似文献

[14C]-Labelled methazole, 1-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-3-methylurea (DCPMU), 1-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)urea (DCPU), and diuron were incubated in soil at 20°C and field capacity soil moisture content. Decomposition followed first-order kinetics; half-lives for degradation of these four compounds were 2.4, 144, 30 and 108 days respectively. The amount of DCPMU and DCPU that could be extracted decreased with time and the decrease was accompanied by the generation of an equivalent amount of 14CO2. This was not so in the studies with diuron and methazole, however, and the decrease in the concentrations of radioactivity extracted from soil treated with these compounds could not be entirely accounted for as carbon dioxide. It is concluded that the unextractable radiochemical that was present was DCPMU. Methazole appeared to be degraded through DCPMU to 3,4-dichloroaniline (DCA) with the production of only traces of DCPU.  相似文献
