Individual cuttings and leaves of chrysanthemum infested with eggs and larvae of the alien leaf miner Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) and batches of pupae, were treated in the laboratory in order to find an effective quarantine treatment to control the pest in imported cuttings. Cold treatment for 2 days at 1–2°C followed by methyl bromide fumigation at 15°C with a range of concentration time products (CTPs) was used to obtain accurate dose-response lines and estimate the LD99 and LD99.9 for each stage of the insect. The largest estimates of the LD99 for eggs, larvae and pupae up to 3 days old were less than the CTP specified in the existing (as at September 1983) United Kingdom statutory fumigation treatment designed to prevent the entry of Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.). This statutory schedule for unrooted cuttings consists of cold storage for 2 days at 1–2°C and then fumigation with methyl bromide at a CTP of not less than 54 g·h/m3 with a minimum treatment period of 4 h at a minimum air temperature of 15°C. Our results indicate that the Spodoptera treatment should give high levels of kill for most stages of L. trifolii provided a CTP of 54 g·h/m3 and a temperature of 15°C (throughout the fumigation) arc achieved uniformly within packs of cuttings when they are fumigated in their transit boxes in commercial practice. The practicality of the technique will depend on whether it is possible to achieve this without causing unacceptable phytotoxicity. The LD99 values for pupae more than 3 days old were greater than those for eggs, larvae and young pupae. Therefore, if this treatment were adopted as a quarantine measure against L. trifolii, good prophylactic treatments and rigorous prc-packing inspections in exporting countries would still need to be maintained, to minimize any risk of importing pupae. 为明确氟铃脲对韭菜迟眼蕈蚊不同虫态的致毒特点及毒力,采用胃毒触杀联合毒力法、药液定量滴加法及药膜法分别对韭菜迟眼蕈蚊卵、幼虫、蛹、成虫进行了生物测定。结果表明,经氟铃脲处理的0.5~1、1.5~2和2.5~3日龄韭菜迟眼蕈蚊卵至孵化24 h后,LC_(50)依次为2.27、1.60和0.64 mg/L,对1.5~3日龄卵的毒力高于对0.5~1日龄卵;经氟铃脲处理的2日龄卵、2龄幼虫、4龄幼虫、1日龄和3日龄蛹至羽化时LC_(50)分别为0.06、0.30、0.34、24.05和27.42 mg/L,毒力程度随韭菜迟眼蕈蚊发育而逐步下降;对蛹和成虫毒力较低,100 mg/L氟铃脲染毒1、3日龄蛹的羽化率分别高于10%和20%;药膜法100、1 000 mg/L氟铃脲处理成虫24 h,校正死亡率低于20%。研究表明,氟铃脲对韭菜迟眼蕈蚊各虫态的生长发育均有不利影响,抑制卵的孵化并导致初孵幼虫存活率降低;对幼虫毒杀作用较慢,对蛹及成虫阶段毒力较低。  相似文献

幼虫在不同食料饲养中,以灰藜最好,苘麻最差。前者幼虫期平均23~30.9天,脱皮4~5次,自然死亡率4.3~8.0%;后者则各为46.1~47.1天、6~7次、45%。各种食料饲养的蛹重,以白菜和灰藜较重,马铃薯较轻。蛹重不是决定成虫产卵高低的主要因子,而与幼虫取食食料种类关系较为密切。如幼虫取食白菜、棉花及玉米、马铃薯混杂草者,较取食旋花、马铃薯及玉米者产卵量高0.15~2.23倍,产卵期和寿命亦较长。取食混合食料的幼虫,发育速度和成虫产卵量,一般均较取食单纯一种食料为高。在成虫取食各种花蜜饲养中,以供食蜂蜜红糖水、马蔺花和向日葵花者产卵率和产卵量最高,白菜花、苜蓿花和清水者最低,前者为后者产卵量的1.99~14.06倍,雌蛾产卵率高11.1~35.7%,产卵期和寿命亦以前者为长。从幼虫和成虫取食不同营养对产卵量的对比来看,成虫期补充营养较幼虫期营养更为重要。因而某一地区蜜源植物的种类、分布密度以及蜜源植物花期与成虫发生期的符合程度,是决定某地区黄地老虎种群密度高低、为害轻重的最主要因素之一。  相似文献

Agrotis ipsilon (Hufnagel) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is a cosmopolitan species that feeds on numerous cultivated plants and herbaceaus plants. Agrotis ipsilon causes significant economic losses in various agricultural products, especially in indisturial plants and vegetables in Turkey and worldwide. In this study, the effects on the biology and reproductive potential of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L., Asteraceae), maize (Zea mays L., Poaceae), sugarbeet (Beta vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.,Amaranthaceae) and potato (Solanum tuberosum L., Solanaceae) which are essential host plants of A. ipsilon were investigated under climatized conditions of 28?±?1 °C, 60%?±?10 r.h., and 16 h daily artificial light. The data obtained were analyzed by using an age-stage two-sex life table. Agrotis ipsilon had five larval stages fed on lettuce, whereas seven larval stages were fed on other host plants. Agrotis ipsilon showed the best development and reproduction on lettuce, followed by sugar beet. When A. ipsilon is reared on lettuce the intrinsic rate of increase (r?=?0.1237 d?1), finite rate of increase (λ?=?1.1317 d?1) and net reproductive rate (R0?=?403.06 offspring/individual) were found higher and the mean generation times (T?=?48.51 d) is shorter than those in other host plants. According to these results, A. ipsilon can cause the most damage to lettuce among studied plants.

Since Thrips palmi became a regulated pest for most European countries, inspections at points of entry into Europe and monitoring in Europe have intensified not only for T. palmi but also for thrips as a whole. Morphological identification of thrips is performed on adults and to a lesser extent on second‐stage larvae only, because no adequate identification keys for the separation of species based on the characteristics of eggs, first‐stage larvae, pre‐pupae or pupae are available. We have developed a real‐time PCR assay based on TaqMan. A T. palmi‐specific set of primers and probe were selected within the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene. The specificity of the assay was assessed using 15 specimens of Thrips palmi and 61 specimens of 23 other thrips species commonly occuring in Europe. All T. palmi specimens were detected, and no cross reactions with other thrips were observed. The method was tested on single larvae and adults and proved to be applicable for both those stages of T. palmi.  相似文献

The insecticidal effects of pyrogallol were studied by treating eggs and larvae of the melon fruit fly, Bactrocera cucurbitae (Coquillett) (Tephritidae: Diptera), with various concentrations (1, 5, 25, 125, 625 and 3125 ppm) of the phenolic compound. Although egg hatching decreased following treatment of 0–8-h old eggs with pyrogallol, the decrease was not significantly different from the control. Larval period and total development period declined significantly in 64–72-h-old and 88–96-h-old B. cucurbitae larvae fed on pyrogallol-treated diet. However, in the 44–48-h-old larvae, the larval period and total development period were not affected by pyrogallol treatment at any of the tested concentrations. None of them survived up to the pupal stage at the highest concentration. Number of pupae formed and adult emergence decreased significantly in all larval instars following feeding on pyrogallol-treated diet. The analysis of enzymes in 64–72-h-old larvae treated with LC40 concentration (16.21 ppm) of pyrogallol at three time intervals, i.e., 24 h, 48 h and 72 h, showed significant induction in the activities of ascorbate peroxidase (APOX) and glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) at 24 h but a decrease was observed following prolonged treatment. On the other hand, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidases (POX) activity remained suppressed during the initial treatment interval but increased with prolonged treatment in 136–144-h-old larvae. The catalase (CAT) activity was suppressed at all treatment durations whereas glutathione reductase (GR) activity was not affected by pyrogallol treatment. An increase in the activities of ascorbate peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, peroxidases and glutathione S-transferases indicates an induction of defensive response of the melon fruit fly to the toxic effects produced by ingestion of pyrogallol. Although the effects of the compound on enzyme activity were tested on second instar, it would be interesting to see the effects on other instars too.  相似文献

经室内饲养和田间调查明确,豆野螟在浙南地区一年发生7~8代,第8代为不完全代。一年中在6月下旬、7月中下旬、8月上中旬、9月中旬、10月上中旬均有明显的发生高峰,呈现波浪多峰型的发生特点,世代重叠严重,2、3、4、5各主害代之间危害程度相差不大。豆野螟在自然变温条件下卵的发育起点温度和有效积温分别为10.84℃和53.17日度,幼虫的发育起点温度和有效积温分别为7.84℃和214.90日度,蛹的发育起点温度和有效积温分别为9.48℃和124.41日度。  相似文献

Cameraria ohridella was recorded first in 1985 in Macedonia. It gradually expanded to north and west and at present it is a serious pest of Horse ChestnutAesculus hippocastanum in the Czech Republic, having been established at about 80 localities. There are 4–5 overlapping generations with sizes of the larvae of 0.4–4.0 mm. The larva develops inside the leaf tissue in the upper parenchym layer of the leaflet and causes a mine, the size of which is broadened with growing larva. First adults start to fly at the end of April. After mating the females lay single eggs on the leaves. Larval development lasts 25–30 days followed by the prepupa I and II. The latter spins a cocoon in which the pupa of the last generation hibernates. The development from L4 to the prepupa lasts for 3–6 days at 22°C. During the summer it is possible to find all larval and prepupal stages in attacked leaves. FourAesculus species:A. parviflora Walk,A. carnea Haey.,A. glabra Walk andA. indica J. Hobb. were found to be resistent toC. obridella. A. lutea H. J. was liftle andA. pavia L. was heavily attacked. The parasitization ofC. o. larvae was very low. Only 2 parasites were found in 1500 mines in the first and second generation ofC. o., and 40 parasites in 1000 mines of the fourth and fifth generation. The highest mortality takes place in moths, eggs and young larvae. It was found in all 4 generation that there were i. m. 50 eggs/leaflet from which i. m. 3 hibernating pupae resulted. Supposing 2 moths (1♀, 1♂)/leaflet emerged in spring which produced 50 eggs (75 eggs/♀—33% moth mortality), the density of eggs in the first generation after hibernating being the same as in the last (fourth) generation before hibernating. As to the whole populations density in this case we can calculate as following: 3 pupae/leaflet on the tree=3000 pupae/leaflets pro m2 on the soil=2000 emerging moths pro m2=50,000 moths (25,000 ♀♀) pro tree (namely 25 m2 projecting area of the tree crown×2000 moths).   相似文献

为探明枸杞奈实蝇Neoceratitis asiatica幼期各虫态的形态发育特性,采用田间取样和室内饲养相结合的方法对其卵、幼虫、蛹的生长发育过程、形态变化及识别特征进行系统观察,通过测量口钩和头咽骨的长度来划分幼虫龄期,解剖并观察不同发育时期蛹及蛹壳颜色,利用图像分析系统提取并分析蛹壳颜色的RGB值。结果表明:枸杞奈实蝇卵的发育可分为初期卵、口钩显现期卵和破壳期卵3个阶段。幼虫分为3个龄期,均具有1对能够自由收缩的骨化口钩及头咽骨,其形态和大小在各龄幼虫之间存在明显差异。预蛹期是从幼虫到蛹蜕变的过渡时期,蛹的形态发育呈规律性变化,可分为隐头蛹期和显头蛹期2个阶段,显头蛹期又可细分为显头蛹初期、黄色眼期、红色眼期、鬃毛蛹期及预成虫期5个阶段。蛹壳颜色随蛹的发育呈不均衡加深趋势,在预蛹期、鬃毛蛹期和预成虫期变化尤为明显。根据蛹壳颜色的RGB值,可制作对应不同发育阶段的蛹壳颜色标准比色板,用于枸杞奈实蝇的发育生物学及防治技术研究。  相似文献

Essential oils extracted fromEucalyptus blakelyi (1,8-cineole, 77.5%),Melaleuca fulgens (1,8-cineole, 56.9%) and 1,8-cineole were shown to have fumigant toxicity against different development stages ofSitophilus oryzae. The eggs ofS. oryzae were the most tolerant, followed by pupae, larvae and adults in that order.M. fulgens oil,E. blakelyi oil and 1,8-cineole at 100 μl per liter of air gave, respectively, LT50 values of 16.2, 17.4 and 9.1 h for adults, 31.1, 19.3 and 17.5 h for larvae, 55.6, 75.2 and 39.7 h for pupae, and required >7 days for eggs. Direct topical impact of an insecticide spray on a population of a non-target leaf-eating beetle, Gastrophysa polygoni, was studied, and the relative importance of phenology, instar susceptibility and instar specific exposure was evaluated. Two insecticides, cypermethrin and dimethoate, were investigated. In the laboratory, topical toxicity to eggs, second-instar larvae and adults was recorded in dose-response experiments. The spatial distribution of larvae and eggs were measured in the field. Deposition of insecticide onto eggs, second-instar larvae and adult specimens was measured at different positions within the crop canopy by use of a dye tracer technique. A temperature-driven population model was constructed to simulate population development of all life stages in the field. The model was based on laboratory measures of growth and development at various temperatures. Mortality due to direct insecticide exposure was calculated as a function of population demography, spatial distribution of individuals, spatial deposition of the insecticide, and stage-specific susceptibility. Cypermethrin had the greatest impact, reducing population size by 19–32%. The life stages most sensitive to cypermethrin were the larval instars. As the population developed from eggs to larvae and imagines, the impact of one spraying first increased and then decreased according to the proportion of larvae in the population. Dimethoate had less effect on the population, i.e. 1·9–7·6% reduction. Dimethoate was most toxic to the egg stage, and consequently the effect on the population decreased as the proportion of eggs decreased due to hatching. The direct effect of insecticide spraying was significantly affected by all three factors investigated, i.e. phenology, life stage susceptibility and stage-specific exposure. 在实验室条件下,研究了啤酒酵母干粉等4种饲料对大草蛉各虫态发育历期、存活率和成虫繁殖力等的影响。结果表明:不同供试饲料对大草蛉的各发育阶段的影响存在差异。啤酒酵母干粉和柞蚕蛹冻干粉2种人工饲料饲喂时,幼虫在一龄期间便死亡;人工卵赤眼蜂蛹和米蛾卵2种代饲料可以使大草蛉完成整个世代,两者之间在幼虫、蛹发育历期上无明显差异,但均显著长于用蚜虫饲养的草蛉;用米蛾卵饲养的草蛉成虫没有产卵能力。供试饲料饲喂的大草蛉,各虫态的主要生命特征及生殖能力与对照相比明显降低。采用红、黄、绿、紫红、白、粉红6种颜色的衬纸,以蚜虫或啤酒酵母干粉为饲料。研究大草蛉产卵与基质颜色的关系,并采用纸条、钢丝、铝条作隔离物,对大草蛉自残阻隔进行了研究。试验表明:基质颜色对大草蛉产卵前期、总产卵量无明显影响,但大草蛉在紫红色、红色衬纸上产卵量比例比其它颜色基质高。纸条、钢丝、铝条3种隔离物中,纸条的隔离效果最好。  相似文献

In order to identify the parasitoids of Phyllocnistis citrella, an important pest of Citrus, the larvae and pupae of this pest were collected from Citrus reticulata Blanco orchards in the Sargodha region of Pakistan. The parasitoid species were identified, and their abundance was recorded. A total of two species were identified: Citrostichus phyllocnistoides (Narayan) (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) and Cirrospilus ingenuus Gahan (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae). Out of a total of 409 P. citrella larvae and pupae collected, 73 Cphyllocnistoides and 39 Cingenuus adults emerged. This paper documents the species and the abundance of the parasitoids associated with P. citrella in the Sargodha region of Pakistan.  相似文献

Abstract

The biology of the univoltine, predatory sarcophagid fly Agria mamillata (Pandellé) was studied in a population of Yponomeuta evonymellus(L.) (Yponomeutidae) attacking Prunuspadus L. in the Valais, Switzerland. Clarification of the literature records suggests that A. mamillata is oligophagus, attacking five Yponomeuta species in the Palaearctic. The adult flies emerged in May. The presence of host odour was advantageous to elicit mating. After a preoviposition period of 19 days, the ovolarviparous females deposited eggs/first instar larvae on the cuticle of late fifth instar prey larvae, or on cocoons of prey pupae. The potential fecundity averaged 40 eggs per female. Reid data indicated that females of the predator laid more eggs in tents with higher prey density. Larval development lasted 11 days. Rain stimulates mature predator larvae to leave the tents of Y. evonymellus to pupate in the soil. Pupation was observed between early July and mid August. Predation rates ( = number of prey eaten per predator) were estimated from laboratory food consumption tests and from the number of predator larvae and predated cocoons in prey tents in the field. It was shown that a single predator consumed an average of five Y. evonymellus individuals. Field data indicated that predation rates cannot increase with higher numbers of prey available. It was shown that the number of prey eaten per predator decrease with higher predator densities per tent in the field.  相似文献

为进一步明确黄芪根瘤象甲Sitona simillimus的发生规律和生物学特性,于2016—2019年采用田间系统调查和室内饲养试验对黄芪根瘤象甲的越冬规律、田间数量动态变化、生活习性和各虫态的发育历期进行调查,测定土壤湿度和寄主植物对成虫存活及发育的影响。结果表明,黄芪根瘤象甲以成虫在靠近植物根际处的土层内越冬,越冬适宜的土壤质量含水量为5%~10%。在甘肃省定西市黄芪根瘤象甲1年发生1代,越冬成虫产卵高峰期为每年5月下旬至6月中旬,幼虫发生高峰期为每年6月中旬至8月初,化蛹高峰期为每年7月下旬至8月上旬,成虫羽化盛期为每年8月下旬至9月上旬。黄芪根瘤象甲成虫羽化当年虽可取食,但不产卵,翌年越冬结束后开始取食,取食后即可产卵。在黄芪、红芪、苜蓿和三叶草中,只有取食黄芪叶片的雌成虫才能正常产卵繁殖。黄芪根瘤象甲成虫产卵的昼夜节律明显,产卵主要集中在12:00—22:00,单雌产卵量为2 051.4粒,产卵期为42.6 d。卵、蛹和幼虫的平均发育历期分别为9.8、10.6和36.7 d。  相似文献

福建为害水稻的粘虫属种类,有粘虫Leucania separata Walker、白脉粘虫Leucania roseilinea Walker和劳氏粘虫Leucania loreyi(Duponchel)等三种。其中粘虫和白脉粘虫发生普遍,为害严重。白脉粘虫在福建一年发生六代,少数五代,冬季无明显的停育。成虫羽化后需要补充营养。有明显的趋化性和较强的趋光性。产卵于枯叶鞘内侧或枯叶端部。每雌一生最多产卵802粒,一般产卵150~300粒左右。初孵幼虫食心叶,三龄后食叶成缺刻,并能咬断小穗,影响产量。幼虫虫口密度纵然很大,亦无成群迁移习性。白脉粘虫在稻田终年发生,其周年群体数量变动规律,无“骤减”和“骤增”现象。第二代于6~7月(早稻后期)和第五代于10~11月(晚稻后期)发生数量较多,为害较重,而第五代是发生量最大和为害最严重的世代;也是一年中防治的主要时期。  相似文献

扁豆小灰蝶在湖南洪江全年可发生8~9代,主要以蛹和部分幼虫在扁豆残株等处越冬。一~四代幼虫在4~7月先后为害豌豆,长江豆,豇豆和扁豆,四代后8~11月集中为害扁豆。该虫完成一代需30~50d,卵期5~8d,幼虫期15~25d,前蛹和蛹期8~11d,成虫寿命2~5d。卵主要产在花萼和花蕾上,少数产在幼荚处。幼虫蛀食花蕾和豆夹,并能转蕾和转夹蛀害。老熟幼虫在地面杂草,落叶或土缝中化蛹。在卵盛孵期喷施80%敌敌畏800倍液,2.5%敌杀死1500倍液和25%杀虫双200倍液,防治效果分别为85.7%~87.8%、87,2%~88.8%和80%~81.3%。  相似文献

S,S-Di-isobutyl N ethylethylenebis(thiocarbamate) (R-31026) had a strong morphogenetic effect, acting by contact on the newly formed pupae of Tribolium confusum and Tribolium castaneum and thereby disrupting adult development. At a dietary concentration of 20 mg kg?1, 95% of pupae of T. confusum produced pupa-adult intermediates; T. castaneum pupae were affected to a smaller extent. Topical application with 0.002 μg per 0–24-h-old pupa of T. confusum resulted in the formation of 88% malformed intermediates. The larvae brought into contact with R-31026 were not affected and pupated normally, hence the compound differs in its activity from that of a typical juvenile hormone compound. On the other hand, the pupal morphogenetic activity of R-31026 resembles that of the typical juvenoid compound 3-[5-(4-ethylphenoxy)-3-methylpent-3-enyl]-2,2-dimethyloxirane (R-20458). The progeny of the emerging adults from pupae treated with either R-20458 or R-31026 were strongly affected. The effective dosages were far below those required for pupal morphogenetic activity. Biochemical studies showed an increase in the soluble protein fraction during the pupal stage after treatment with either R-31026 or R-20458 indicating disturbances in protein build-up. The bis(thiocarbamate) R-31026 has more favourable practical properties than R-20458 for controlling agricultural insects, because it does not prolong the larval feeding stage.  相似文献

Field experiments in clover field showed that releasing of 10 matedM. rubens females/m2, increased parasitism amongA. ipsilon larvae from 16.7% at 0 to 43,3% after 10 days. Also, releasing 10 females/m2 after spraying 3% molasses in tomato field increased parasitism from 4% at 0-day to 27.5% after 10 days amongA. ipsilon larvae. Spraying molasses and kairomone together on maize plants, increased markedly the rate of parasitism amongS. cretica larvae comparing with parasitism obtained when each of them was sprayed alone. The release ofM. rubens in a rate of 10 females/m2 after spraying molasses and kairomone induced a significant increase in the rate of parasitism amongS. cretica larvae after 10 and 15 days compared to releasing 3 or 4 females of the parasitoid. A significant increase in parasitism amongS. cretica larvae on tomato after 10 and 15 days was recorded whenM. rubens was released at the rates of 5 and 10 females/m2, after spraying molasses and kairomone, compared to other treatments.  相似文献

Abstract

The granulosis virus (GV) of sugarcane shoot borer, Chilo infuscatellus Snelt., was found to be transmitted vertically when the fourth instar larvae were microfed with the virus at a sublethal dose of 1.1 x 103 inclusion bodies/larva. The virus infection was found to alter the sex ratio in pupae in favour of male (1 : 5.70—♀ : ♂) from the normal 1 : 1 ratio. The per cent pupation and adult emergence were also significantly reduced. No adults emerged from abnormal pupae that lacked pigmentation on the ventral surface of the first abdominal segment. The GV was also found to be transmitted from the infected adult to the offspring through eggs and 50% of the larvae that hatched were found to die due to virosis.  相似文献
