About the Cultural Connection between the Chinese Garden Art and Calligraphy Art-Taking Suzhou Garden as an Example

The calligraphy art as China traditional essence and the traditional garden art as a unique style in the architecture history of the world, both of them are synthetic arts and tend to be closely combined with other category of arts. In more or less degree, they take advantages of other arts for reference or use these advantages for enriching their own contents and strengthening their artistic appeal. In this paper, the relationship between the calligraphy and the garden art is analyzed. At the same time, the cultural origins and artistic thoughts of the Chinese garden (Suzhou garden as example) and the calligraphy are studied to search the common regulation and find the deep cultural contents, then the connection between them is revealed. At last, it is hoped, that the research will give some enlightening to inheritance and development of the traditional garden culture.     

Development of Design and Art Education Model in China

Teaching and practice characteristics of design and art specialty were explored, history and training objectives of design and art education in China reviewed, current situation and major problems of Chinese design and art education model analyzed. Considering experience of foreign art and design education, the paper proposed that studio construction and "Double-teacher system" were the keys to the development of design and art education model, and elaborated implementation methods and signifi cance of the construction.     

Poetic and Pictorial Splendor-Expression of Traditional Chinese Literati in Chinese Architecture

The expression of traditional Chinese literati is based on connection, seeking emotion and harmony. With various forms, though, this style of expression shares the same value in some art forms, like traditional Chinese poetry, calligraphy and paintings, and Chinese architecture. Based on the commonalities of various forms of literature and art, this paper offered an insight into Chinese architecture in light of poetic and pictorial expression of traditional Chinese literati. In order to illuminate the corresponding connection between traditional Chinese poetry, calligraphy and paintings, and Chinese architecture, this paper discussed the expression of Chinese architecture corresponding to the essence of traditional Chinese poetry, calligraphy and paintings respectively from the perspective of philosophy, aesthetics, and culture study of Chinese architecture. Via analogous analysis, which includes the analogy between the emotion of architecture and the feelings in traditional poetry, the analogy between the order of architecture and the spirit of calligraphy, and the analogy between the artistic conception and the picturesque scene, the poetic and pictorial expression of Chinese architecture was clarified. This paper emphasized that Chinese architecture needs to jump out of the concrete image, eradicate the interdisciplinary boundaries, and stress the integration of arts and humanities in a higher level, to express Chinese architecture in a Chinese way. That means making Chinese architecture modern in forms and techniques, and traditional in spirit and artistic conception.     

Application of Facade Decorative Arts of Traditional Architecture in Archaistic Blocks:A Case Study of Shengjinta Food Street in Nanchang City

Architectural decoration is a key demonstration of architectural styles, and traditional Chinese architectural forms originating from diversified architectural decorative arts. This paper explored facade decorative art of traditional architecture from the perspectives of carving art decoration, roof type, stylobate and railing, window and door type, and ground pavement, and also elaborated artistic methods of different forms in each aspect. On the basis of investigating Shengjinta historic and archaistic block, the paper also introduced application of decorative arts, and provided references for applying facade decorative arts of traditional architecture in the future archaistic blocks.     

Influence of Medical Model on Therapeutic Environment

In its development history, man has always tried to be close to nature, and get physical and spiritual help from the nature. According to the development of medical model from the deity worship to modern medical science, a near-nature and ecological therapeutic and recuperative model has been more favored, thus in modern therapeutic environment, proper landscape designs can be combined with effective medical methods to achieve physical and mental immunoregulation and balance using natural and quality climatic factors. This paper introduced the development of natural science and medicinal model in different periods, and analyzed their impact on environment, concluded the benefi ts of therapeutic medicine, and demonstrated the signifi cance of therapeutic environment and landscape healing as the therapeutic factors for facilitating human rehabilitation from the perspective of therapeutic medicine. Taking "evidence-based design" as the basis of therapeutic environment design, this paper proposed landscape design methods for the therapeutic environment, in order to provide people opportunities for closing to, sharing and participating in the nature, help people to relax physically and psychologically using the positive impact of natural environment on human spirits, relieve their stress, and achieve physical and psychological peace. In addition, the development tendency of therapeutic environment in China was predicted according to the actual conditions of urban society.     

Intangible Protection of Environmental Spaces in Ancient Towns and Its Significance: a Case Study of Ancient Qijiang Town in Sichuan

The well-preserved small historic cities and towns in China that have went through thousands of years of vicissitudes play a signifi cant role in studying the town history and architectural spaces,and inheriting behavioral cultures of the locals.However,driven by economic profi ts,the current protection and development of ancient towns focus on ancient images,but neglect behavioral cultures and spiritual connotations,lose their evolution sequence and the relationship between tangible and intangible characters.Protection of ancient towns,as the author asserts,means not simple restoration and simulation of ancient buildings,or blind pursuit of new approaches,but equal importance to repairing architectural forms,protecting the environmental spaces,and intangible behavioral cultures and spiritual connotations of the locals that have been or will be lost in the history.It is the signifi cance of protecting ancient town environment and its history and culture.     

Realization Approaches of Hand-painted Pastel Art in Animation

In view of status quo and prospects of hand-painted animation,it is an important topic to promote the development of hand-painted animation,achieve its unique artistic effect,explore the approaches of realizing hand-painted pastel animation,grasp spiritual connotations of hand-painted pastel art in animation,and maintain the artistic vitality of hand-painted animation.This study focused on expression means of various arts,enriching artistic means of producing hand-painted pastel animations,improving the efficiency of hand-painted pastel animations,so as to form a complete artistic realization theoretical system of hand-painted pastel animations,and provide a technical and theoretical foundation for the development of traditional hand-painted animations.     

Cultural Soft Power-based Brand Culture Marketing Strategies of Tourist Destinations

On the basis of analyzing defi nitions and signifi cance of cultural soft power, signifi cant value of brand culture marketing of Chinese tourism destinations was clarified. Basic contents of cultural soft power-based brand culture marketing of tourism destinations were explored from two perspectives: resource characteristics and marketing strategies of brand culture of tourism destinations.     

Current Development of Hand-painted Pastel Animation Short Film

With the rapid development of audio-visual language, production of traditional hand-painted animation has failed to keep pace with the times. This paper discussed the current foreign and domestic researches on animation, and found that the researches still focused on application of technology or theories of animation arts. The study tried to integrate traditional hand painting with computer technology, produce hand-painted pastel animation, enrich the artistic forms of hand-painted pastel animation short fi lm, improve the effi ciency of handpainted pastel production, so as to form a complete artistic realization theory system of hand-painted pastel animation short fi lm, and provide a technological and theoretical support for the development of traditional hand-painted animation.     

Development Trend of Vertical Greening in China and Countermeasures

Current situation of urban green spaces was analyzed, vertical greening, elevated floor and roof garden were effi cient ways of expanding urban green coverage area. The signifi cance of expanding green areas, improving soil, renovating and maintaining green plants was discussed.     

Research on the Construction of Chinese National Park System Based on Sustainable Development Theory

To make full use of Chinese natural heritage resources and achieve their sustainable development, it is imperative and necessary to construct Chinese National Park System. Based on the theory of sustainable development and the connotation of national park, this paper will discuss the signifi cance of establishing Chinese National Park System and then propose some measures. Chinese National Park System can be constructed from four levels, including policy, management, economic and social levels, and through such ways as reconstructing the national conservation system, making laws and regulations, establishing planning system, setting up independent and specialized regulatory agency, adopting way of franchising, innovating funding investment mechanisms and establishing mechanisms of public participation.     

Quantitative Indexes of Streetscape Visual Evaluation and Validity Analysis

To establish valid indexes for streetscape visual evaluation, this paper proposed 6 quantitative indexes to refl ect objective visual properties of streetscapes based on the image processing concept, and took real digital images of 10 pedestrian streets to verify the validity. Mathematical analysis of subjective and objective indexes showed that street width/height ratio, street width, sky openness index, visual entropy and color richness index could refl ect objective visual properties of streetscape(correlation coeffi cient r > 0.633, signifi cance P < 0.05); visual complexity accounted for the highest percentage in the evaluation conclusion(22.6%), so it was the most signifi cant infl uence factor.     

Protection and Reuse of Municipal Engineering Heritage: A Case Study of Hankou Dazhimen Railway Station

This paper introduced foreign concepts and categories in industrial heritage protection, took protection and reuse of Hankou Dazhimen Railway Station for example, analyzed signifi cance of protecting heritage of modernization and municipal engineering heritage in urban construction and development, and also learned from the success of Orsay Museum in France to propose reasonable design concepts for the reconstruction and reuse of Dazhimen Railway Station.     

Study on Dominant Expression of Regional Culture of the Qinling Mountains in Local Residential Buildings

Regional culture of the Qinling Mountains shows distinct features since it was born in the local outstanding ecological environment, study on local architecture is significant for the dominant expression of regional culture, protection of local environment, and echoing with the theme of ecological civilization construction. This paper, on the basis of the mutual infl uence and evolution of regional culture and style of local residential buildings, explored the reasons for the weakening of local architectural style, and specified the signifi cance of promoting local style of the living environment. By studying the infl uence of local natural environment and humanistic environment on architectural style along the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains, the paper explored the expression of regional culture in residential buildings, with Xian Garden(Xi'an Yuanzi) as an example, and aimed at giving useful help to the dominant expression of regional culture in modern residential buildings.     

Painting Ink Landscape Panorama on the Old Wall

To maintain internal walls of the residential houses and prolong service life of the walls, the paper introduced the efficiency of ink painting in wall maintenance and also in enriching cultural connotations of the residential spaces. The paper explored a practical approach for people participating in cultural and artistic activities based on the author's experience, which would contribute to the inheritance and development of outstanding traditional cultures and arts.     

On Cultural Landscape Planning and Design of Xihan River Customs Line in Lixian County

This study explored the effective means of constructing characteristic urban cultural landscapes in the design of urban waterfront landscapes by combining with planning and design of Xihan River Customs Line and adhering to the theme of "cultural reproduction",tried to integrate cultural landscapes into ecological landscaping,so as to fully demonstrate signifi cance of urban cultural background for theoretic researches and practices of urban landscaping.     

Response Characteristics of Climate in the Shiyang River Basin to Global Warming

Meteorological data of 5 weather stations in the Shiyang River Basin on the eastern section of Hexi Corridor from 1961 to 2014 were analyzed using statistical analysis techniques such as linear trend and variance signifi cance test. The results showed that as the low temperature rose generally, temperature in stations nearby desert showed higher increase rate; annual extreme maximum temperature in stations nearby mountains showed more signifi cant increase, and annual extreme minimum temperature in stations nearby desert showed more signifi cant increase, and the increase tendency of extreme minimum temperature was more obvious than that of extreme maximum temperature; annual extreme maximum temperature in stations in desert showed higher instability; instability of annual extreme minimum temperature in all sampling points increased, and showed no obvious regularity between desert and mountain.     

Ancient Cultural Relics in Cities and Environmental Art Design: Series I of Urban Public Environment Design

Buildings and spatial environment left by history record evolution traces of cities and significant events related to the cities, and as a particular carrier of culture, they are witnesses of city development, and show the later generations memories of the city history. In urban planning, historical images must be respected, the relation between ancient cultural relics and urban planning handled properly, city brand established, and city image improved. The author, on the basis of exploring signifi cance of urban ancient cultural relics, used practical cases to fi gure out approaches of preserving urban ancient cultural relics in urban planning.

Regional Architecture and Design Practice

Taking a project practice for example,this paper probed into the design methods of regional architecture in such aspects as geographic environment,traditional folk residence style,space environment and construction material etc.In this paper,one of the developing directions of modern architecture,i.e.the regional architecture design is pointed out first,then,the correlation between regional architecture and natural environment as well as historical culture tradition,space environment and material application of regional architecture,etc.were systematically discussed,it also indicated that the regional architecture should be an organic renewal of traditional folk residence style.It is concluded that the regional architecture should be in accordance with the nature.
