The study was carried out to evaluate the impact of tillage system in combination with different herbicides on weed density, diversity, crop growth and yields on 18 farms in Kadoma, Zimbabwe. Experiments were set up as a split plot design with three replications on each farm. Tillage was the main plot (Conservation Tillage (CT), Conventional Tillage (CONV)) and weeding option (hand weeding, cyanazine, atrazine, glyphosate only and mixture of cyanazine + alachlor and atrazine + alachlor) as the sub-plots. Due to the heterogeneous nature of farmers' resource base, the farms were grouped into three farm types: high (Type 1), medium (Type 2) and poorly resourced farmers (Type 3). The hand hoe weeded treatments had 49 percent higher total weed densities in CT relative to CONV, and was statistically similar to the glyphosate treatment. The mixed pre-emergence herbicides reduced the diversity indices by 69 and 70 percent when compared to the hand hoe weeded treatment under CT in cotton and maize, respectively. The effectiveness of all pre-emergence herbicides were not influenced by tillage but were affected by farmers resource endowments with pronounced effect in Farm Type 1. Maximum plant heights of 85 and 238 cm were recorded for mixed pre-emergence herbicides under CT for cotton and maize, respectively. Minimum plant heights of 75 and 217 cm were recorded for the respective hand hoe weeded treatments. The hand hoe weeded treatments resulted in average cotton lint yield of 1497 and 2018 kg ha−1 for maize. The mixed pre-emergence herbicides treatments gave yields of 2138 and 2356 kg ha−1 of cotton and maize, respectively. The higher weed densities in CT under hand weeded treatments underscored the need for other weeding options. Similarly, a mixture of cyanazine + alachlor in cotton and atrazine + alachlor in maize is recommended for suppressing broad and grass weed populations and enhancing yields in CT systems.  相似文献

A field study was conducted in 2001 and 2002 at Blackville, SC, to evaluate broadleaved weed control and economics of conventional and glyphosate-containing herbicide programmes in glyphosate-resistant soybean planted in 97-cm-wide rows. Treatments included chlorimuron plus sulfentrazone or chlorimuron plus metribuzin applied pre-emergence followed by post-emergence applications of lactofen or glyphosate 4 wk after soybean emergence (WAE). Other treatments were glyphosate applied 4 WAE, sequential applications of low dose glyphosate applied 2 and 4 WAE, and a non-treated control. Pre-emergence herbicides followed by glyphosate, controlled Ipomoea lacunosa L. 8 WAE. I. hederacea var. integriuscula Gray control with pre-emergence herbicides followed by glyphosate was 100% with similar control from chlorimuron plus sulfentrazone followed by lactofen, whereas control following the single glyphosate application was 84%. Amaranthus palmeri S. Wats. control 9 WAE was 100% following single or sequential glyphosate applications, while control ranged from 76% to 96% with pre-emergence herbicides followed by lactofen. However, early season weed interference when a single application of glyphosate was delayed until 4 WAE reduced soybean yields an average of 389 kg/ha compared to pre-emergence herbicides followed by glyphosate. Based on mean contrasts, pre-emergence herbicides followed by glyphosate had greater gross profit margins than a single glyphosate application alone, but were similar to sequential glyphosate applications. Gross profit margins from pre-emergence herbicides followed by lactofen were not different from glyphosate alone.  相似文献

Field experiments were conducted during two cropping seasons at two sites in Botswana to determine the efficacy of combining glyphosate and tillage in controlling C. dactylon. Treatments consisted of no-tillage, single and double ploughing during winter and spring plus the application of glyphosate at 0, 1.08, and 2.16 kg ha−1 3–4 weeks after the last ploughing. Visual assessment indicated higher levels of grass control from combining glyphosate and tillage than when these elements were applied separately. However, biomass data indicated that either double ploughing or glyphosate application controlled C. dactylon. A single ploughing followed by glyphosate at 2.16 kg ha−1 after a regrowth of C. dactylon may provide an effective and affordable control method to small-scale farmers.  相似文献

Weeds limit hazelnut productivity through competition and interference. Field experiments were conducted from spring 2010 through 2013 to evaluate string trimming alone or combined with herbicides in hazelnut orchards to control mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris L.), purple nutsedge (Cyperus rotundus L.), and burning nettle (Urtica urens L.). Treatments were mowing with a string trimmer (ST) alone, or ST followed by glyphosate, glyphosate + diflufenican, and glyphosate + carfentrazone-ethyl. These combinations also were applied with pendimethalin and oxyfluorfen as pre-emergence applications. The experiments were conducted in Fatsa-Ordu, Turkey, on a sandy clay soil with multi-stemmed trees (ocak). The combination treatments improved weed control compared to ST alone. Glyphosate plus carfentrazone-ethyl application 15 days after ST was the most effective treatment for control of these weeds. This combination was more effective in reducing seed bank reserves of A. vulgaris, C. rotundus and U. urens than herbicides applied alone or in mixtures throughout all seasons. Hazelnut yield was not significantly affected by herbicide treatments in 2010 or 2011. Hazelnut yield increased during the latter half of the experimental period, in 2012 and 2013. In a mixed population of A. vulgaris, C. rotundus and U. urens, 89 plants per m2 caused 12.1% yield loss. When the density increased to 256 plants per m2, yield losses increased to 29.7%. Hazelnut treated with ST followed by glyphosate plus carfentrazone-ethyl had the highest financial return. Post-emergence weed management systems in hazelnut should include ST followed by glyphosate plus carfentrazone-ethyl applications for maximum returns.  相似文献

Glyphosate is world-wide seen as the most widely used herbicide ingredient. In Germany, from 1999 to 2010, the use of glyphosate based herbicides (GBH) increased by 100%. Many agronomical benefits are attributed to glyphosate, but there is also public criticism. To analyse current application patterns and to assess the agronomical importance of GBH in Germany, a survey was carried out among 896 arable farmers. The survey took place in early 2011, taking 2009 as a reference year. In Germany, cultivation of transgenic crops is generally not permitted and, therefore, herbicide resistance trait does not play any role in application patterns.Based on farmer's statements, a calculated application area of 4.3 million hectare arable land was estimated, representing 39% of total arable area. Three application modes receive major proportions of glyphosate use, these are: pre-sowing (20.7% of application area), pre-harvest (11.2%) and stubble application (68.1%). Among the field crops, oilseed rape (including oilseed rape stubbles) is treated with 27.5% of the nation-wide glyphosate amount followed by winter barley (20.1%) and winter wheat (15.8%). Without using glyphosate, farmers expect an increase in the share of ploughed arable land from 38.1% to 71.4%. Also, without glyphosate the use of cultivator on stubble land is expected to increase about 1.6 passes on average. If applied pre-sowing, glyphosate could save herbicide applications in the following crop. Saving one application of a post-emergence herbicide was estimated by farmers for corn and sugar beet (46% of pre-sowing applications), silage maize (40%), oilseed rape (27%), and winter wheat (22%). Most applications are applied on off-crop fields, so farmers did not quote any observation of yield savings due to glyphosate. The nation-wide economic benefit of glyphosate due to savings of other agricultural measures such as soil cultivation and post emergence herbicides is calculated between 79 and 202 million Euro per year, depending on glyphosate price.We conclude, that glyphosate offers large benefits to farmers, though some routine applications results in only moderate economic benefit compared to the non chemical practices being replaced. Developing decision rules for farmers might allow for an optimum allocation of glyphosate use.  相似文献

In India, dry-seeded rice (DSR) production systems are rapidly replacing conventional rice production systems due to various advantages. DSR systems can be managed under zero-till (ZT) conditions or after a preparatory tillage, often referred to as conventional tillage systems (CONT). Although previous reports indicate the contribution of tillage to weed suppression, the effect of one-time preparatory tillage in a DSR system could vary depending on the dominant weeds in the system, vertical seed distribution and the weed seed dynamics. A study was conducted to test the efficacy of ZT and CONT and their interaction with herbicide treatments on the weed population dynamics and rice grain yield in 2010 and 2011. Tillage systems did not affect weed emergence, weed biomass, tiller production and crop yield. However, herbicide treatments varied in their efficacy on individual weeds. Hand-weeding treatments and pendimethalin combined with hand weeding did not effectively control Cyperus rotundus L. and Panicum maximum Jacq. (a perennial grass weed with underground parts). The herbicide combination of metsulfuron and chlorimuron was effective in controlling C. rotundus but not grass weeds. This indicates the need for sequential applications of herbicides for grass weed control or integration of hand weeding to achieve broad-spectrum weed control. Apart from hand weeding (three times), treatment with penoxsulam–cyhalofop and pendimethalin followed by (fb) hand weeding resulted in low weed density, high tiller production and grain yield. The study clearly indicates that tillage does not always lead to weed suppression compared with ZT, and herbicides must be chosen based on the dominant weeds in a system. The results of this study are pertinent as herbicide-resistant weeds are rapidly evolving under continuous herbicide selection pressure, which warrants studies on enhancing productivity through low-input, environmentally friendly and sustainable production technology.  相似文献

对比评价了草甘膦、草铵膦、复配剂型草甘膦-乙草胺及草甘膦-助剂对茶园主要恶性杂草的防治效果,并对试验小区土壤中各除草剂的残留水平进行了评估。试验结果表明,与草甘膦相比,草铵膦起效快,在施药第7天杂草覆盖度降低到9.15%,施药14βd后对野老鹳、续断菊、小飞蓬等杂草的防治效果在95%以上,草胺磷在茶园土壤中降解较快,30βd的消解率达到94%,残留水平较低(第58天残留量为0.01βmg·kg-1),可能是替代草甘膦除草剂的较优选择;乙草胺作为封闭型除草剂,能够抑制禾本科杂草出苗,且在土壤中消散较快(21βd后的消解率为97%),可用于防治禾本科等杂草。  相似文献

A field study was conducted in 2001 and 2002 at Blackville, SC, to compare the effectiveness of soil-applied herbicide programmes followed by glyphosate with sequential glyphosate applications in 19- and 97-cm row soybean. Treatments included pre-emergence applications of flumetsulam, chlorimuron plus sulfentrazone, metribuzin, or flumioxazin all applied with S-metolachlor with a subsequent application of glyphosate applied 5 wk after soybean planting (WAP). Additional treatments included sequential applications of glyphosate at 3 and 5 WAP and a non-treated control. Weed control was comparable in wide and narrow rows, and soil-applied herbicides were similar to sequential glyphosate applications in either row width. Amaranthus palmeri S. Wats., Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop., and Cyperus rotundus L. control with all herbicides was 98–100%. All herbicide programmes provided at least 92% Ipomoea hederacea var. integriuscula Gray and I. lacunosa L. control. S-metolachlor plus flumetsulam followed by glyphosate provided 99% Senna obtusifolia (L.) Irwin and Barneby control, which was superior to the 88% and 90% obtained with chlorimuron plus sulfentrazone and metribuzin programmes, respectively. Flumioxazin and sulfentrazone caused up to 12% soybean injury. In 2001, soybean yields and gross profit margins were similar for soil-applied programmes followed by glyphosate and sequential glyphosate applications in wide and narrow rows. Conversely, soybean yields and profit margins in 2002 averaged across soil-applied programs were 380 kg/ha and $50/ha superior to sequential glyphosate applications in wide rows, but were similar in narrow rows. This research indicates a highly efficacious soil-applied herbicide program followed by glyphosate provides similar weed control to sequential glyphosate applications in wide- and narrow-row soybean; however, a soil-applied herbicide programme followed by glyphosate may improve yields and returns of wide-row soybean over sequential glyphosate applications alone.  相似文献

以郑单958为试验材料,2011年在河南新乡设置耕作方式与种植密度田间试验,研究条带深松耕作方式对不同密度夏玉米群体产量性能的调控效应,明确条带深松耕作方式下夏玉米产量性能特征。结果表明,条带深松耕作方式下,夏玉米获得最高产量的最适密度为9.0×104株/hm2左右,较常规耕作方式下增加16.9%,平均增产10.9%。进一步分析高密度(9.0~10.5)×104株/hm2群体下夏玉米产量性能参数,条带深松耕作方式分别增加收获穗数、穗粒数、千粒重、干物质积累量、群体平均叶面积指数、平均净同化率、产量/平均叶面积指数比值分别为9.7%~10.5%、6.5%~8.2%、7.0%~7.7%、9.1%~12.4%、6.7%~9.2%、7.2%~9.1%、3.6%~17.1%。条带深松耕作方式通过产量性能参数的共效差异补偿机制实现密植夏玉米增产。  相似文献

Weed management under conservation agriculture (CA), especially when manually controlled is one of the major setbacks for the widespread adoption of CA in southern Africa. This study was conducted at three on-station and three on-farm sites: CIMMYT-Harare, Domboshawa Training Centre and Henderson Research Station (on-station sites), Hereford farm, Madziva communal area and Shamva communal area (on-farm sites). The evaluation focused on the effect of initial herbicide application and succeeding manual weeding whenever weeds were 10 cm tall or 10 cm in length for grasses with stoloniferous–rhizomatous growth habit. Weeds counts, weeding time and grain yields were collected at all on-station sites. At the on-farm sites, weed counts were done before weeding and a number of farmers were timed during weeding. The results showed that herbicides use reduced the weed density and time taken on weeding at all sites. Combining herbicides e.g. atrazine, glyphosate and metalachlor had the lowest weed density and weeding time at all sites. However, the treatments had no effect on maize grain yields suggesting that appropriate and timely manual weeding reduced crop/weed competition. Herbicides treatments had higher input costs than manual weeding due to the additional cost of herbicide but the treatment with manual weeding only had more overall labour days compared to the mixture of three herbicides. In order to achieve economic benefits, smallholder farmers may use the time for value addition e.g. expand cropped land area, use time for value addition, or sell new products on the market. Herbicides use reduces the manual labour needed to control weeds and minimise total crop failure due to untimely weeding hence, herbicides are an important but not the only weed control option under CA systems in Zimbabwe.  相似文献

From their introduction in 1996, glyphosate resistant (GR) soybean cultivars have been rapidly adopted by farmers in Argentina and in other countries in the world. The high rate of adoption of this technology seems to be based on the simplicity of use provided by a single herbicide (glyphosate), its high efficacy to control many weeds and, the low costs of the technology relative to that used in conventional crops. During 2001–2002, 2002–2003 and 2003–2004 soybean growing seasons, field surveys and field experiments were performed with the aim of studying the effect of different glyphosate management strategies on the diversity of soybean weed communities, weed control, individual survival, fecundity and crop yield. In addition, the emergence pattern of three important weeds, Digitaria sanguinalis, Cyperus rotundus and Anoda cristata, was also studied. Both field surveys and field experiments were carried out on no-till soybean crops sown immediately after wheat or barley harvest (double cropped system). Experiments were set up in commercial soybean crops and consisted of different times of a single glyphosate application, two glyphosate applications and also the application of glyphosate plus a residual herbicide imazethapyr. A. cristata, D. sanguinalis, Stellaria media, Chenopodium album and Cyperus sp. were the most prevalent weeds recorded at pre-harvest of the soybean crops, showing regional constancy higher than 80% in both years. In three out of four field experiments, crop yield was not increased when glyphosate was applied twice compared with a single application of the herbicide. In addition there was a lower negative effect on weed species richness when glyphosate was applied once during the crop cycle than with two applications of glyphosate or glyphosate plus imazethapyr. D. sanguinalis escaped the glyphosate early treatment because of the long weed emergence period, while A. cristata and C. rotundus survived treatments due to their high individual tolerance. The results suggest that it is possible to manage glyphosate application to get high crop yield with a low impact on weed diversity, depending on the weed species and their abundance.  相似文献

There has been a marked increase in the use of herbicides in potato production. In many cases growers have simply added herbicides to their existing weed control program with little or no reduction in tillage. On Long Island six or more separate mechanical operations may be used by growers to control weeds. The current paper summarizes 3 years’ results with various tillage — herbicide combinations carried out under widely varying levels of weed infestation. Under conditions of low to moderate infestation good results were obtained with one to two tillage passes plus the use of an herbicide. The use of an incorporated herbicide such as EPTC plus a single hilling operation as early as ground-brack was satisfactory. Greening of tubers was not appreciably increased by this or other early hilling practices. Fields with severe weed infestations required two to three tillage treatments plus an herbicide application. No yield reduction occurred from these treatments, with some indication of a trend in the opposite direction.  相似文献

Field studies were conducted in 2007 and 2008 at Hamilton Farms near Lonoke, Arkansas, USA to evaluate the potential impact of sub-lethal doses of glyphosate and glufosinate on winter wheat (Tritium aestivum). Three wheat cultivars were seeded, and glyphosate and glufosinate were applied at 1/10 and 1/20 times the labeled dose at the 3- to 4-leaf, panicle initiation, and boot stages. Both herbicides caused significant injury to wheat; however, wheat response to both herbicides was different. Glufosinate injury occurred rapidly and consisted of mainly leaf necrosis. Glyphosate injury to wheat was minimal and manifested in the form of leaf yellowing. Glyphosate caused shortened flag leaf when applied at PI and reduced canopy height when applied at boot. Injury was minimal to wheat across all treatments, with the highest level of injury being 34% following glufosinate applied at boot. Conversely, wheat was most sensitive to glyphosate at the 3- to 4-leaf stage. Flag leaf length was reduced the greatest by glyphosate at PI, whereas glufosinate reduced flag leaf length minimally. Even though glyphosate injury was lower than that of glufosinate, yield was reduced more by glyphosate. Wheat seed weight and germination were not affected by either herbicide. Wheat appears to be slightly more sensitive to glyphosate with respect to yield; however, it is slightly more sensitive to glufosinate with respect to foliar injury.  相似文献

Cyanobacteria are important components of the lowland rice ecosystem. Therefore, it is important to examine the effect of herbicides (commonly used against weeds of rice crop) on the performance of cyanobacteria. We studied the toxic effects of three herbicides often used in rice field, viz. propanil, pretilachlor and glyphosate, on the performance traits of Anabaena fertilissima C.B. Rao. Pretilachlor [0–40 active ingredient (ai) mg/L] and glyphosate (0–80 ai mg/L) exhibited toxicity to A. fertilissima at higher doses than propanil (0–1.5 mg/L). Propanil had severe damaging effects on cellular characteristics of A. fertilissima when compared to pretilachlor or glyphosate. Propanil treatment of A. fertilissima resulted in the leakage of protoplast from the heterocyst due to the breakage of the plasma membrane and surrounding wall. Our study shows that photosystem II herbicides such as propanil could have deleterious effects on phototrophic (cyanobacterial) communities, which are an integral part of the rice ecosystem.  相似文献

Abstract

The response of microarthropod populations to different combinations of conservations! agricultural practices was investigated in two field experiments. In the first experiment, cropping systems with combinations of tillage (conventional or reduced), biocide application (conventional or reduced), and fertilization (chemical or cattle manure compost) were compared. In the second experiment, five treatments including four fallow managements that received different levels of tillage, biocide, and organic matter input from vegetation were compared. The springtail (Collembola) population was higher with less tillage, less biocide application, and more organic matter input in both experiments, and these effects were additive; there was no specific combination of practices that has an interacting effect. The mite (Acari) population was also higher under most conservations! treatments, and a significant interaction effect between tillage and organic matter application was found. A large increase in the Acari population under the combination of reduced tillage and higher organic matter input suggested that beneficial effects of these practices on the Acari community could be increased by integrating these practices. There was no significant correlation between the microarthropod populations and plant cover or soil chemical/physical properties measured. Slight changes in soil environments caused by agricultural practices may affect microarthropod communities substantially even before the changes in soil properties become detectable.  相似文献

通过两年田间定位试验,探究深翻与旋耕处理及其不同秸秆还田条件下农田黑土耕层(0~20 cm)土壤容重、三相比和固定态铵的影响。结果表明,深翻能改善因长期旋耕造成的土壤紧实状况,显著降低20~40 cm土壤容重;秸秆还田方式对土壤容重、三相比有显著影响,影响效果由大到小依次为秸秆还田秸秆还田配施有机肥秸秆不还田处理;耕层土壤固定态铵对两种耕作处理无明显响应,对不同秸秆还田方式则具有显著响应,其中秸秆还田配施有机肥能有效增加固定态铵,秸秆还田次之;不同秸秆还田方式耕层土壤固定态铵含量与固相比呈显著负相关(R2=0.538)。深翻结合秸秆还田配施有机肥能较好地改善农田黑土土壤容重、三相比、提高固定态铵含量,可在该区域适当推广。  相似文献

An experiment was conducted to examine integrated weed-control techniques for machine-transplanted lowland rice in Korea. Six treatments combining tillage, water and herbicide regimes were compared in a single field trial in 1981. The dissimilarity coefficient (reflecting dissimilarity in botanical composition between two communities) based on weed species present was generally high when comparing herbicide-treated and untreated plots when assessed at the tillering stage of rice. At rice maturity, the highest dissimilarity value was shown between the minimum tillage plot (one rotavation and one harrowing) and the improved treatments which included other cultivations and herbicides. Broad-leaved weeds became dominant in the plots that did not receive any herbicide application whereas sedge weeds became dominant when herbicides were applied. The lowest weed number and weed weights throughout the whole season were recorded on the plot that received the herbicides butachlor and benthiocarb as part of the seedbed preparation with a subsequent application of piperophos/dimethametryn mixture 10 days after transplanting. The highest grain yield, 6·8 t/ha, was harvested from this plot. This was significantly higher than yields from the conventional weeding treatments of single applications of either butachlor (5·8 t/ha) 5 days after transplanting or piperophos/dimethametryn (4·4 t/ha) 10 days after transplanting.  相似文献

In the early and late cropping seasons of 1983, three different methods of tillage (minimum tillage, conventional tillage, and tilled and ridged) were evaluated for their influence on the performance of some pre-emergence herbicides used during the production of cowpea. Four varieties of cowpea (Ife Brown, H 144-1, TVx 3236, and Black-eyed bean) were planted in the early season while five varieties (Ife Brown, H 144-1, TVx 3236, H64/3 and Vita-5) were planted in the late season. A single spray application of 3·0 kg/ha alachlor, 3·0 kg/ha metobromuron + metolachlor and 3·5 kg/ha metolachlor was carried out one day before planting. Cyanazine at 3·0 kg/ha was included in the late season trial. The plots were either minimally tilled, conventionally tilled or tilled and ridged at the Teaching and Research Farm of the University of Ife. Results showed that the performance of all three herbicides used in the early season, as measured by weed control and grain yields, was best on the conventionally tilled, while the performance of the four herbicides in the late season was best on tilled and ridged plots. Metobromuron + metolachlor performed consistently better than each of the other herbicides irrespective of the method of tillage during both seasons. Conventional tillage enhanced the performance of metobromuron + metolachlor over minimum tillage plots and tilled and ridged plots in the early season; however, in the late season, the performance of metobromuron + metolachlor was best on tilled and ridged plots. Alachlor did not effectively control competing weeds in both seasons but did not injure any cowpea line. On the other hand, cyanazine did not control weeds effectively but was phytotoxic to Ife Brown variety of cowpea. In both seasons, the control of the broad-leaved weeds Ageratum conyzoides, Amaranthus spp., Euphorbia heterophylla, Ipomoea spp., Spigelia anthelmia, Synedrella nodiflora and Talinum triangulare was not adequate. 基于始于2012年的不同耕作方式长期定位试验,分析冬小麦播前深翻(DT)、旋耕(ST)和免耕(NT)3种耕作方式对后茬免耕直播夏玉米生长(干物质积累与分配)、生理指标(叶面积指数和SPAD值)、子粒灌浆速率的影响,探析麦茬耕作方式对后茬夏玉米生长发育和产量建成的影响。结果表明,ST处理成熟期干物质积累量显著高于DT和NT处理(P<0.05),穗部干物质的分配比例分别较NT与DT处理显著增加了7.94%~13.79%、10.34%~17.48%。ST处理叶面积和持绿性优于DT和NT处理。ST处理的子粒灌浆速率较DT与NT处理提高12.71%~18.96%、5.25%~8.71%,最终获得最大产量。因此,冬小麦-夏玉米1年两熟种植模式下,麦茬旋耕更利于免耕直播夏玉米的生长和产量建成。  相似文献
