The study was carried out to evaluate the influence of urea plus molasses-treated wheat straw (WS) ensiled with cattle manure (CM) on nutrients intake, their digestibilities, and growth performance of crossbred (Sahiwal × Holstein Friesian) cattle calves. The CM was mixed with ground WS in a ratio of 30:70 on dry matter (DM) basis. The WS–CM mixture treated with urea (4% DM) and molasses (4% DM) was allowed to ferment for 40 days in a cemented pit. Four iso-nitrogenous and iso-energetic fermented wheat straw (FWS)-based experimental diets were formulated. The FWS0, FWS20, FWS30, and FWS40 diets contained 0%, 20%, 30%, and 40% FWS, respectively. Twenty calves (9–10 months of age) were randomly allocated to four dietary treatments in a randomized complete block design, five in each group. Increasing trends for DM, organic matter, crude protein, and neutral detergent fiber intakes by calves were observed with increasing dietary FWS level. Weight gain was significantly different among calves fed different levels of FWS. The highest weight gain (491.8 g/day) was observed in calves fed FWS40 diet, while calves fed FWS0 and FWS20 diets gained 350.0 and 449.6 g/day, respectively. The results from this study imply that the FWS can be added up to 30% in the diet of growing crossbred calves without any detrimental effect on their performance.  相似文献

NaOH treated (T) or untreated (UT) barley straws were supplemented either with protein (P) or with concentrates based on maize (M) or beet pulp (BP), the two last at rates of 25 and 50% of the diet. Each of the 10 diets was fed to two sheep ad libitum. Two diets were also fed at limited intakes. For these 12 diets in sacco cellulolytic activity in the rumen and ruminal fermentation were measured. Cellulolytic activity was measured with the studied straws, so that their digestion rate was also determined. NaOH treatment increased rate of digestion of straw, while high levels of concentrates decreased it. In contrast NaOH treatment and high levels of concentrate decreased cellulolytic activity but neither type of concentrate nor limitation of intake altered it. NaOH treatment only slightly modified pH because a higher level of VFA in rumen balanced NaOH presence. An important negative effect on pH of high levels of concentrate was observed, but there was no effect or type of concentrate or limitation of intake. Fermentation pattern was only slightly influenced by studied factors: +2.2 units of butyric acid and -2.1 units of acetic acid with treated straw; lower level of acetic acid occurred when concentrate was increased, especially for maize. NaOH treated (T) or untreated (UT) barley straws were supplemented either with protein (P) or with concentrates based on maize (M) or beet pulp (BP) at rates of 25 or 50% of the diet. Each of the 8 diets was fed to 8 sheep near ad libitum and near maintenance. Energy balances were determined by indirect calorimetry. Straw and feed intakes were doubled by the alkali treatment (P, BP25 and BP50 diets) or increased by 83% (M25 diet) and 63% (M50 diet). Near maintenance, energy digestibility (dE) and metabolizability (q) of the straw were improved by 36% and 40% respectively in the P diet and by 28% and 25% on average in the other diets. Ad libitum feeding reduced energy digestibility of treated straw by 11% and metabolizability by 5% on average in the BP25, BP50 and M25 diets; in the case of the M50 diet dE of the T straw was depressed by 30% and the beneficial effect of the alkali treatment was suppressed. The efficiency of metabolizable energy (ME) of the treated straw diets for maintenance was also raised by 9% (P diet) to 3% (M50 diet) and the corresponding net energy content of the treated straw was increased by 58 to 30%. ME efficiencies of the diets for fattening ranged from 44.0 to 52.8%. Energy retention of sheep was considerably increased by the alkali treatment of straw, whereas their maintenance requirement could not be met by the untreated straw diets supplemented with 25% concentrate.  相似文献

Feed intake, in vivo nutrient digestibility and nitrogen utilization were evaluated in male sheep fed different fractions (leaf, pseudostem, corm, whole plant) of enset, untreated or 2% urea‐ and 3% calcium oxide‐ (CaO or lime) treated wheat straw and Desmodium intortum hay as sole diets. All feeds, except D. intortum hay and enset leaf had low crude protein (CP) content. Non‐fiber carbohydrate contents were higher in enset fractions, especially in pseudostem and corm relative to other feeds. Enset leaf and pseudostem had high calcium, phosphorus and manganese contents. Corm, whole enset and D. intortum hay were rich sources of zinc. Daily dry matter and CP intakes were higher (p < 0.05) in sheep fed D. intortum hay (830 and 133 g, respectively) than those fed pseudostem (92 and 7.8 g, respectively). Organic matter digestibilities were highest for corm (0.780) and whole enset (0.776) and lowest for D. intortum hay (0.534) and untreated wheat straw (0.522). The CP digestibility ranged from 0.636 in D. intortum hay to 0.408 in corm. Nitrogen (N) balance was highest (p < 0.05) in D. intortum hay (10.4 g/day) and lowest in corm (?1.3 g/day). Enset leaf could be a useful protein supplement whereas the pseudostem and corm could be good sources of energy.  相似文献

用0%亚硫酸铵、4%亚硫酸铵、8%亚硫酸铵、4%尿素、8%亚硫酸铵+等当量盐酸、8%亚硫酸钠、8%亚硫酸钠+等当量盐酸处理稻草,水分调至45%,填紧压实,密封保存于贮罐内1个月,然后用瘤胃尼龙袋法测定稻草有效降解率,分析相关营养指标。试验结果表明:①4%亚硫酸铵、8%亚硫酸铵可显著提高稻草中粗蛋白(CP)、硫(S)及粗灰分(Ash)含量,降低中性洗涤纤维(NDF)、酸性洗涤纤维(ADF)含量;可显著提高(P<0.05)稻草中干物质(DM)、有机物(OM)有效降解率,降低(P<0.05)NDF有效降解率。其效果不及4%尿素处理稻草的效果;②8%亚硫酸钠可显著提高稻草中Ash和S元素含量,大幅度降低NDF、ADF含量;8%亚硫酸钠可提高稻草DM、OM、NDF有效降解率,其效果优于尿素,差异极显著(P<0.01);③8%亚硫酸钠处理稻草效果优于4%尿素、8%亚硫酸铵、4%亚硫酸铵;8%亚硫酸钠、8%亚硫酸铵与等当量的盐酸反应可生成亚硫酸氢盐及SO2,用其处理稻草的效果与8%亚硫酸钠、8%亚硫酸铵单独处理稻草的效果相比,前者使有效降解率显著(P<0.05)下降,后者相差不大(P>0.05),因此添加盐酸没有意义。  相似文献

Ensiled mixtures of seafood processing wastes and wheat straw were evaluated. Thirty-six crossbred wethers (average BW = 34 kg) were fed 1) a basal diet (hay and concentrate) alone, or a 1:1 ratio (DM basis) of basal and 2) ensiled fish waste plus straw (70:30, wet basis), 3) ensiled fish waste and straw (51:49), 4) ensiled crab waste plus straw (60:40), 5) ensiled crab waste plus straw (40:60), or 6) ensiled wheat straw (50% moisture). Dry molasses (5%) was included in all ensiled mixtures, and glacial acetic acid (16% vol/wt) was added to the crab waste mixtures. Among diets containing ensiled fish waste, DM digestibility was greater (P less than .01) for the diet containing silate with 70% fish waste than the diet containing 51% fish waste. There was no difference (P greater than .05) in DM digestibility between the two crab waste silages. Apparent digestibility of CP was greater (P less than .01) for diets containing fish than for those containing crab waste. Nitrogen retention (g/d) was positive for sheep receiving all diets but not different among treatments. Apparent absorption of P (g/d) was greater (P less than .01) by sheep fed fish waste silage diets than by those fed crab waste silage diets. Among seafood silages, DMI was greater (P less than .01) for sheep consuming the 60:40 than for those consuming the 40:60 crab waste silage diet and less (P less than .01) for sheep fed the 70:30 than for those fed the 51:49 fish waste silage diet. Seafood processing wastes potentially are valuable to ensile with crop residues for use as ruminant feedstuffs.  相似文献

Fermentation characteristics were measured and numbers and distribution by genera of ciliate protozoa were determined in ruminal fluid samples collected from 10 ruminally cannulated steers during the first 30 d of their being fed barley-based diets containing 62% (Medium Barley) or 95% (High Barley) barley grain (DM basis). Ruminal samples were collected at 5-d intervals over the 30-d periods beginning after adaptation (i.e., at the first full feeding of each diet). Ruminal pH and ammonia concentrations were lower (P < 0.001) with the High Barley than with the Medium Barley diet. Concentrations of total VFA and propionate and amylase activity of ruminal fluid were higher (P < 0.001) on High Barley than on Medium Barley. Total protozoal numbers in ruminal fluid were 42% lower (P < 0.05) on High Barley (470 x 10(3)/mL) than on Medium Barley (804 x 10(3)/mL). On Medium and High Barley diets, respectively, Entodinium spp. made up 89 and 91% of the ciliate protozoal populations. With the Medium Barley diet, relative proportions of Dasytricha, Ophryoscolex, Ostracodinium, Diplodinium, and Metadinium spp. in the total ciliate population were 4.5, 0.4, 0.5, 0.7, and 0.3%, respectively. When the High Barley diet was fed, these genera were not detected. In a subsequent survey, ruminal samples were collected from 200 finishing cattle at slaughter. Average protozoal population was 328 x 10(3)/mL, and Entodinium spp. constituted 97% of the total. These data demonstrate that a large population of Entodinium spp. can persist in the rumen of cattle fed high barley grain-based finishing diets.  相似文献

本研究总结了全珠小麦青贮饲料和小麦秸秆青贮饲料的保存和营养特性。选择25包来自4个不同田间的全珠小麦青贮饲料和10包小麦秸秆青贮饲料,分别进行了全株小麦青贮和秸秆青贮试验。全珠小麦青贮饲料保存良好,平均pH值为4.46,乳酸、乙酸和丁酸盐的浓度分别为19.2、10.4和4.7g/kg。小麦秸秆青贮饲料的平均pH值为5.46,由于干物质含量较高,发酵受到抑制,乳酸、乙酸和丁酸盐的浓度分别1.9、2.2和1.0g/kg。全株小麦青贮饲料粗蛋白含量为78g/kg,中性洗涤纤维含量为546g/kg,非纤维碳水化合物含量为306g/kg。全珠小麦青贮饲料中粗蛋白和非纤维碳水化合物含量变化较大,中性洗涤纤维含量变化相对较小,这与籽粒成熟度的差异有关。全株小麦青贮饲料和秸秆青贮饲料的体外有机质降解率分别为56.1%和29.3%。全株小麦青贮饲料的体外有机质降解与pH、乳酸和乙酸盐含量无显著相关性(P>0.05),与丁酸盐含量和氨氮比值有显著相关性的趋势(P=0.07)。瘤胃对全珠小麦青贮饲料的发酵早期体外气体生成的变异系数越高,相对于一些纤维组分,如中性洗涤纤维和酸性洗涤纤维,测定的非纤维碳水化合物变异系数也相应升高。综上所述,冬季旱地栽培的小麦可以作为全株青贮饲料在瘤胃中发酵提供能量,小麦秸秆也可以作为纤维原料进行青贮。  相似文献

An experiment was conducted to 1) determine quantity of microbial CP and DM associated with undigested feed particles, 2) quantify the amount of microorganisms removed from ruminally incubated forages and 3) compare forage disappearances (D) corrected for microbial contamination, using diaminopimelic acid (DAPA) ratios obtained from particle-associated or fluid-associated microorganisms. Samples of alfalfa hay, bermudagrass hay and orchardgrass hay placed in dacron bags were incubated via ruminal cannula for 6 and 12 h. Whole ruminal contents (WRC) were sampled at the time of bag removal and partitioned into fluid- and particle-associated microorganisms. Particle-associated microorganisms were further divided into loosely-associated (LA) and firmly associated (FA) microorganisms. Percentage microbial CP and DAPA, quantities of OM, CP (mg) and DAPA (micrograms), microbial contamination and microbial contribution to ruminal contents were not affected by time (P greater than .05). The highest concentrations of CP and DAPA were found in fluid and LA, respectively (P less than .01). The total amount (content) of OM, CP and DAPA were highest in FA and lowest in microbes in the fluid fraction. Firmly-associated microorganisms constituted 54.1% of the particle-associated population. Corrected DMD were higher (P less than .01) based on FA than on fluid and LA microbe compositions. Corrected CPD were similar (P greater than .10) between populations except at 6 h, when LA corrected CPD were lower. Theoretically, using FA microorganisms should give the most accurate correction for microbial contamination. However, results indicate that, although the three populations differed in composition, fluid and FA corrected CPD were similar. Corrections based on composition of any of these three populations will yield higher estimates of disappearance compared with uncorrected values.  相似文献

We determined how a food's flavor and digestibility, along with an animal's recent experiences, influenced food preference and intake. In three experiments, pregnant heifers were fed a basal ration (7.75 kg/animal) of alfalfa, barley, corn silage, and a vitamin/mineral supplement from 1500 to 2200. Exp. 1 determined the influence of recent exposure to flavored straw. Animals were divided into two groups (n = 16/group) and fed either untreated or ammoniated straw with digestibilities of 43 and 58%, respectively. Within each group, half of the heifers were fed maple-flavored straw and the other half were fed coconut-flavored straw from 1100 one day to 0900 the next day, with no base ration. We then offered straw in both flavors from 1000 to 1200 for the next 5 d. Animals fed maple-flavored straw for 1 d generally preferred coconut- over maple-flavored straw for the next 5 d, whereas animals previously fed coconut-flavored straw preferred maple-flavored straw (P < 0.001). The change in preference was stronger when animals were fed untreated compared with ammoniated straw. Experiments 2 and 3 determined the influence of offering straw in different flavors, either in sequence (Exp. 2) or simultaneously (Exp. 3). In Exp. 2, we offered heifers (n = 16) straw in three flavors (maple from 0900 to 1100, coconut from 1100 to 1300, and unflavored from 1300 to 1500) and compared their intake with that of heifers (n = 16) offered unflavored straw throughout the day. In Exp. 3, we compared intake of heifers (n = 16) simultaneously offered straw in three flavors (coconut, maple, and unflavored) with that of heifers (n = 16) offered only unflavored straw from 1000 to 1500. In both experiments, straw intake and preference differed between heifers offered straw in a variety of flavors as opposed to only unflavored straw (P < 0.05), but animals fed a variety of flavors did not consistently eat more than those fed only one flavor. During a post-trial preference test, heifers previously restricted to straw in one flavor for 5 d preferred straw in alternative flavors, whereas heifers fed straw in all three flavors preferred unflavored straw. Changes in preference were stronger for heifers fed untreated compared with ammoniated straw. Collectively, our results suggest that palatability, as evidenced by changes in preference and intake, is dynamic and depends on a food's flavor and nutritional quality and an animal's recent experiences with the food.  相似文献

Four Suffolk x Hampshire wether lambs averaging 55 kg with permanent ruminal cannulas were used in a 4 x 4 Latin square design to determine the effects of exchange of ruminal contents between fed and fasted lambs on subsequent DMI and ruminal characteristics. Lambs were fed a pelleted 70% roughage diet at 2% of BW for 17 d. During each period of the Latin square two lambs were deprived of feed and water for 3 d. At the end of the fasting period ruminal contents from one fed and one fasted lamb were exchanged. Lambs were then given ad libitum access to feed for 8 d, during which DMI, feeding pattern, and ruminal characteristics were monitored. Measurements of ruminal volume determined by total collection and indigestible marker (lithium sulfate) suggested that only about 50% of total ruminal contents were actually exchanged. Fasted lambs had lower (P less than .05) DMI, ruminal fermentative capacity, ruminal DM weight, and ruminal DM percentage than fed lambs during the first 4 d of realimentation. Exchange of ruminal contents did not (P greater than .10) affect DMI, feeding pattern, ruminal fluid pH, ruminal fermentative capacity, ruminal contents DM percentage, ruminal nucleic acid concentration, or VFA. Dosing fasted lambs with ruminal contents from nonfasted lambs reduced (P less than .05) ruminal liquid volume, dry weight of ruminal contents, and propionate concentration. Results of this trial are interpreted to indicate that although decreased ruminal function is a factor in the low feed intakes of fasted ruminants, the possibility of increasing postfast feed intake via improved ruminal function is limited because other metabolic factors may play a more important role.  相似文献

为分析替代法估测肉牛对稻草和麦秸的有效能值及适宜的替代比例,本研究选取12头体重相近(266±13.41)kg的11~12月龄皖东牛公牛,随机分为3组,每组4头牛,分3期进行饲喂试验。第1期:所有供试牛饲喂由带穗玉米青贮组成的基础饲粮,测定基础饲粮的有效能值;第2期和第3期:各组供试牛分别饲喂由稻草或麦秸按不同比例(10%、30%和60%)替代基础饲粮组成的试验饲粮。每期试验14 d,其中前10 d为预饲期,后4 d为正试期。正试期消化代谢和呼吸代谢试验同时进行,测定肉牛对各试验饲粮的能量代谢情况。结果表明,1)与基础饲粮相比,稻草或麦秸替代降低了肉牛对试验饲粮干物质(DM)、粗蛋白(CP)、中性洗涤纤维(NDF)和酸性洗涤纤维(ADF)的表观消化率,且以上指标随替代比例的增加呈逐渐下降趋势。2)基础饲粮组和各替代组之间总能(GE)采食量无明显差异(P0.05),而消化能(DE)、代谢能(ME)和净能(NE)采食量随稻草或麦秸替代比例的增加而显著降低(P0.05),总能消化率、总能代谢率和消化能代谢率与稻草或麦秸替代比例呈负相关关系。3)根据不同试验饲粮的有效能值与稻草或麦秸替代比例之间的回归方程,估算得出稻草的DE、ME和NE分别为8.51、5.79和3.64 MJ·kg-1,麦秸的对应值分别为7.89、5.08和3.13 MJ·kg-1;10%、30%和60%3个替代比例中,30%替代比例所计算得稻草或麦秸有效能值的变异度最小(P0.05)。综上可知,替代比例会影响稻草和麦秸有效能值的测定结果,本研究中稻草或麦秸替代比例为30%时优于10%和60%。在估测单一粗饲料原料有效能值时,回归法和替代法结合能提高测定结果的准确度,也有助于筛选替代法最佳的替代比例。  相似文献

试验旨在探讨纤维素酶、木聚糖酶和青黄贮酶对水稻秸秆青贮品质的影响。以水稻秸秆为原料,设置4个处理,分别为CK(对照)、XYL(添加0.5%木聚糖酶)、CEL(添加0.5%纤维素酶)和CAS(添加0.5%青黄贮酶),每个处理6次重复,室温下青贮120 d后,进行感官评定,并取样测定营养品质和养分消化率,计算其饲喂价值。结果表明:(1)XYL,CEL和CAS处理的pH显著低于CK(P<0.05),色泽评分、质地评分、水分评分和pH评分均显著高于CK(P<0.05),感官评定等级均为良好;(2)XYL,CEL和CAS处理的DM、K、Ca、Mg含量均显著高于CK(P<0.05),ADF、NDF含量均显著低于CK(P<0.05),且CAS的NFC含量显著高于CK(P<0.05);(3)XYL,CEL和CAS处理的NDFD30、NDFD48、IVTDMD30和IVTDMD48均显著高于CK(P<0.05),且XYL和CAS处理的dNDF30、dNDF48均显著高于CK(P<0.05);(4)XYL,CEL和CAS处理的TDN、DDM、DMI、RFV和RFQ均显著高于CK(P<0.05),且CAS的TDN、DDM、DMI、RFV和RFQ均显著高于XYL和CEL处理(P<0.05)。说明水稻秸秆青贮中,添加木聚糖酶、纤维素酶和青黄贮酶,均能改善其感官品质和营养品质,提高养分消化率和饲喂价值;综合各项指标分析,青黄贮酶的添加效果优于木聚糖酶和纤维素酶。  相似文献

In this study we investigated the influence of harvest date and genotype on the ruminal degradability of the organic matter of ensiled maize grains. Grains of the varieties Avenir, Byzance, CGS 5104 and CGS 5107 from six different harvest dates were available; they are classified as intermediate types between flint and dent corn. The six harvest dates, during which time the dry matter content of the ensiled grains rose from 52% to 66%, extended from 1st September to 19th October. Assuming a passage rate of k = 0.08, the effective ruminal degradability declined in this period on average from 93% to just under 79%; variety-specific deviations also increased markedly during this period. The dry matter content (x, DM in %) of the ensiled grains had a profound influence on ruminal degradation: a highly significant curvilinear decline in ruminal degradability (y) was calculated at increasing DM levels (k = 0.08), which can be described by the equation y = -0.072x2 (+/- 0.010) + 7.417x (+/- 1.186) - 98.71 (+/- 34.58) (B = 0.96; sy.x[%] = 1.36). The ruminal degradability of ensiled maize grains is about 5-10% higher than that of fresh maize grains.  相似文献
