Abstract

Acid silage was prepared by mixing fresh minced sardines with a mixture of formic and propionic acid. The silage was stored outside at ambient temperatures (range 28-39°C) during liquefaction and samples were taken for measurement of viscosity, pH and non-protein nitrogen. After 48 h the mrxtures were liquefied and were then dried separately or co-dried with wheat bran. Samples of dried silage were analyzed for proximate composition and amino acid content. Trials were conducted on tilapia, Oreochromis aureususing test diets to compare the digestibility of sardine silage with that of fish meal. The study showed that sardine silage, dried in a solar cabinet, could be prepared in 4-5 days. Essential amino acids were present at levels exceeding the requirements for tilapia. Digestibility trials showed the apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of crude protein, dry matter and gross energy for sardine silage to be equivalent to those of fishmeal (P > 0.05).  相似文献

Apparent digestibility of dry matter, protein, lipid and energy of a fishmeal‐based feed (41% crude protein, 9% crude lipid and 19 kJ g−1 gross energy) was compared in genetically improved farmed tilapia (GIFT), genetically male Nile tilapia (GMNT) and conventional Nile tilapia (CNT) (Oreochromis niloticus). The experimental fish were reared individually under standardized conditions in a recirculation system at 27±0.1°C for 10 weeks. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) was used as a marker. Faeces of individual fish were collected daily by siphoning and stored at −18°C before analysis. No significant differences (P<0.05) were observed in the digestibility coefficients of feed dry matter (78.2±3.4%, 77.7±4.4% and 76.4±3.7%), protein (87.9±3.0%, 88.4±2.8% and 88.0±3.3%), lipid (90.0±2.5%, 91.0±2.1% and 89.4±3.0%) and energy (90.4±1.9%, 90.7±2.0% and 89.4±2.3%) in GIFT, GMNT and CNT respectively. At the end of the experiment, there were no significant differences (P<0.05) in average percentage growth (82.2±7.2, 87.3±7.7 and 74.7±4.1 respectively for GIFT, GMNT and CNT), growth rates or feed utilization efficiencies between the three tilapia groups. We conclude that the higher growth claimed for improved GIFT and GMNT as compared with CNT, if ever existing, cannot be attributed to higher nutrients or energy digestibility.  相似文献

The degree of hydrolysis (DH) of the ingredients was evaluated for Centropomus undecimalis juveniles. The in vitro experiment included wheat gluten (WG), corn gluten (CG), soybean meal (SBM) and pretreated phytase (SBM + phytase), soy protein concentrate (SPC), canola meal (CAN) and pretreated phytase (CAN + phytase), poultry byproduct meal (PBPM), chicken meal (CHKM), dried whey (DW), Pota meal (PM: mix of giant squid, fish soluble protein concentrate, crustacean meal, and fish oil), and Protiblend (PTB: aquatic and render mix). The highest acidic DH occurred with PTB (0.38 ± 0.06), CHKM (0.33 ± 0.3), and PBPM (0.25 ± 0.03). In the alkaline condition, PTB (1.6 ± 0.17 and 0.98 ± 0.05 for pyloric caeca and intestine, respectively) and CG (1.04 ± 0.4 and 0.75 ± 0.2 for caeca and intestine, respectively) provided the highest DH values. In vitro digestibility demonstrated that PTB was the highest (85.3%) followed by PBPM (51.4%), CAN + phytase (47.6%), CG (45.1%), and CHKM (46.5%). The in vivo experiment concerned the WG, CHKM, PBPM, PM, and PTB diets plus a reference diet with fishmeal (Ref diet). The total %DH was different (P < 0.05) with the lowest values for the WG diet (0.34 ± 0.09%) and Ref diet (0.34 ± 0.15). Free amino acid released during digestion was displayed for these diets and a bifactorial analysis produced no difference (P > 0.05). The apparent digestive coefficients ranged from 89.8 to 92.9% for protein and from 68 to 71.4% for energy.  相似文献

A 70-day replicated experiment was conducted under laboratory conditions at 29-33°C to evaluate the suitability of dried aquatic weed, Pistia stratiotes, meal in the pelleted feed of Lubeo rohita fingerlings. Four experimental diets incorporating dried aquatic weed meal at 15, 30, 45, and 60% levels into a fish-mealbased control diet were formulated. Ihe protein content of the test diets ranged from 22% to 35%. Best performance of fish in terms of growth, feed conversion, protein efficiency ratio, and protein and lipid deposition in the muscle was recorded with the diet containing 15% weed meal. The fish performed better with the diets containing weed meal up to the 45% level. Fish fed diets containing higher levels of weed meal showed poor growth, feed conversion, and protein utilization. The results indicate it is possible to include the dried meal of P. stratiotes in pelleted feed (up to 45% level) for Indian major carp.  相似文献

Two sets of feeding trial were conducted to determine the effect of size and temperature on the utilization of different protein sources in two catfish species. In both the experiments, the fish were fed to apparent satiation daily at 08.00 and 18.00 hours, and faecal matter collected through slow siphoning. The first experiment was designed to study the effect of fish size on apparent digestibility coefficients for plant and animal proteins in the African catfish, Clarias gariepinus (Burchell, 1822). Three size classes (105–109 g; 780–830 g; 1250– 1300 g) of fish were stocked in triplicate sets of 600‐L plastic pools fitted with a flow‐through system (2 L min?1). Within each size class, the apparent digestibility coefficient (ADC) for protein varied significantly with the source and quality of protein used. Soybean meal and fishmeal protein were utilized with greater efficiency, whereas rice bran protein was least digestible. An increase in ADC protein was apparent with increase in fish size for high protein sources such as soybean meal, full‐fat soybean, laboratory‐prepared fishmeal, steam‐cooked brown fishmeal and dried fish. ADC protein for other ingredients decreased with increase in size. In the second experiment, the influence of varying temperature on ADC for protein was determined in the catfish, Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch) (6–8 g). Triplicate groups of 25 fish were kept at three different ambient temperatures (18, 28 and 38 °C), in 70‐L polyvinyl indoor flow‐through (1–1.5 L min?1) circular tanks (water volume = 55 L). The trend in utilization of protein from different sources remained similar at the three temperatures. For each ingredient, digestibility values obtained at 18 °C were significantly lower than those obtained at 28 °C and 38 °C. Optimal protein utilization in H. fossilis was measured at 28 °C.  相似文献

Press cake meals were prepared from previously frozen herring immediately following thawing and after storage for 8 or 12 days at 2-5°C. Each of the raw sources of herring was subjected to two processing temperatures, 75°C and 100°C, during meal preparation. Also, protein hydrolysates were prepared using ocean perch when fresh or after storage at 2-5°C for 4 or 8 days. Subsequently, each of the three hydrolysates was dried at 85°C or 93°C. In two separate experiments, each of the herring press cake meals and dried perch protein hydrolysates was blended with a reference diet in a 30:70 ratio (test protein source: reference diet). All diets contained 5 g kg?1 chromic oxide as an indigestible marker. The reference diet and all test diets were provided to satiation to chinook salmon in salt water and rainbow trout in fresh water, with digestibility of organic matter, protein and energy measured by difference. Digestibility of protein was also measured by the pH-stat and dilute pepsin solubility in vitro techniques. The results indicated that variation in processing temperature to a maximum of 100°C had little effect on digestibility of marine fish protein sources. By contrast, raw material storage for 8 days or more at 2-5°C prior to processing was found to reduce organic matter digestibility and sometimes nitrogen digestibility in salmonids. In vitro measures of digestibility were of little help in predicting the nutritive value of the test protein sources. Cadaverine level in herring press cake meal was shown to be a good indicator of spoilage in the raw material.  相似文献

The effectiveness of bacteria treated‐coffee pulp (BT‐CoP) in fish diets was evaluated in a feeding trial with Oreochromis aureus (Steindachner) fingerlings. Five diets were formulated to contain 0%, 6%, 12%, 18% and 24% BT‐CoP, replacing wheat meal. Fish were reared in a recirculating unit consisting of 16 aquaria. Each aquarium was stocked with 10 fish of 1.1–2.4 g. Fish were fed ad libitum twice daily (10 and 15 h) for 4 weeks. Fish fed diets without BT‐CoP and with 6% BT‐CoP showed similar growth (body weight, growth rate: RGRm) and feed utilization (feed conversion ratio, protein efficiency ratio, apparent net protein utilization). Diets containing 0% and 6% BT‐CoP gave similar dry matter and protein digestibility coefficients, but dietary BT‐CoP levels higher than 6% produced lower digestibility values, except for carbohydrate. It is concluded that O. aureus fingerlings may assimilate only small amounts (6%) of BT‐CoP in the diets without adverse effects on growth and feed utilization parameters. The CoP‐containing diets did not affect fish survival (100%). The depression in tilapia performance may be associated mainly with the high level of fibre present in the CoP diets.  相似文献

Apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of dry matter, crude protein, lipid, gross energy, amino acids, and fatty acids in white fish meal, brown fish meal, soybean meal, peanut meal, and yeast were determined for grouper Epinephelus coioides. Apparent digestibility was determined using a reference diet with 0.5% chromic oxide indicator and test diets that contained 70% reference diet and 30% of the feed ingredient being evaluated. The fish, averaging 12.0 g, were held in 250-L tanks at a density of 30 fish per tank. Feces were collected from three replicate groups-of fish. Apparent dry matter digestibility of ingredients was 78.85 ± 2.43, 79.11 ± 0.61, 69.85 ± 3.60, 73.67 ± 2.30 and 57.70 ± 4.69% for white fish meal, brown fish meal, soybean meal, peanut meal, and yeast, respectively. Apparent gross energy digestibility of ingredients was 93.27 ± 2.90, 89.48 ± 1.78, 70.52 ± 4.01, 73.13 ± 2.41 and 51.67 ± 2.01% for white fish meal, brown fish meal, soybean meal, peanut meal, and yeast, respectively. Apparent protein digestibility of ingredients was 89.82 ± 1.24, 87.34 ± 1.25, 83.97 ± 1.92, 80.79 ± 1.95, and 61.14 ± 0.54% for white fish meal, brown fish meal, soybean meal, peanut meal, and yeast, respectively. White fish meal and brown fish meal showed higher protein digestibility among ingredients tested (P ± 0.01). Lipid digestibility of ingredients was high (90.66-94.48%) and not significantly different except for yeast. Amino acid availability values for test ingredients were similar to values of protein digestibility. Amino acid availability values of white fish meal and brown fish meal were higher than other ingredients. Fatty acid availability values for test ingredients were similar to values of lipid digestibility. In general, the digestibility of most fatty acids was over 80% in all ingredients, except for 14:0 in yeast and 18:0 in peanut meal, PUFA + HUFA > MUFA > SFA. Longer-chain saturated fatty acids were less digestibility, except for 14:0, with digestibilities diminishing as fatty acid chain length increased. Apparent digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, lipid, gross energy, amino acids, and fatty acids in yeast was the lowest among the ingredients.  相似文献

The growth of two species of Cichlidae, the African Oreochromis niloticus and the Central American Cichlasoma melanurum, fed with three different diets (100% pellets, 50% pellets and 50% Azolla, 100% Azolla) was compared. The growth performances of O. niloticus (G=2.3) fed only with pellets were higher than those of C. melanurum (G=0.9). With the mixed diet (50% pellets and 50% Azolla) growth was reduced for both species but this reduction was proportionally lower with C. melanurum. The fish fed exclusively with Azolla showed negative growth but fish weight loss was least for C. melanurum.Comparison of the chemical composition of the two fish species reveals significant differences. Generally moisture is lower for C. melanurum and lipid concentration is higher for this species with all three diets. Fed with Azolla, both species have a higher moisture and lower lipid concentration. Crude protein concentration (±15%) is very similar for both species regardless of diet.In conclusion, for intensive fish culture based on commercial pellets, the African species O. niloticus performs better than the American C. melanurum. On the other hand, the use of Azolla as feed for these fish does not seem very satisfactory but experiments should be conducted with typical herbivorous Cichlidae which may be able to utilize this fern in agro-piscicultural ecosystems.  相似文献

A few chemical characteristics of Gulbi, a traditional Korean seafood prepared from salted and dried Yellow corvenia (Pseudosciaena manchurica), were investigated during drying at different temperatures. When Gulbi was manufactured by sun-drying (the control), it had the highest thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and volatile basic nitrogen (VBN) values. They increased with increasing drying time at all temperatures in the hot-air drier. The TBARS value of Gulbi was lower when dried at 30 and 35°C than at 40°C and the control. The VBN of the control was higher than that of hot-air dried Gulbi at 30 and 35°C and lower than that of hot-air dried Gulbi at 40°C. The control had a VBN value of 20.8 ± 0.07% and the hot-air dried at 30°C, 18.0 ± 0.06; at 35°C, 18.6 ± 0.06; at 40°C, 23.8 ± 0.08 (p < 0.05), respectively. The salt content of the control and Gulbi dried at 30, 35, and 40°C were 22.9 ± 0.07%, 17.7 ± 0.06%, 18.0 ± 0.06%, and 24.3 ± 0.08%, respectively. The amino nitrogen content was much lower: 63.1 ± 0.80 mg/100 g and 65.5 ± 0.14 mg/100 g at 30 and 35°C than 78.3 ± 0.21 mg/100 g at 40°C. The results of this study also indicate that the Gulbi dried at 30 and 35°C had better chemical characteristics than those dried at 40°C when using hot-air drying and sun drying.  相似文献

Two consecutive experiments were conducted to study the effects of stocking density on growth, food utilization, production and farming profitability of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings (initial mean weight: 16.2 ± 0.2 g) fed Azolla, as a main component in diet. In experiment 1, fish were hand‐fed twice daily with three isonitrogenous (28.5% crude protein) and isocaloric (14.5 kJ g−1) diets A30, A35 and A40 containing 30%, 35% and 40%Azolla, respectively, for 90 days. Diets were formulated by mixing Azolla with locally available by‐products. No significant differences were found in growth parameters and production (P>0.05). Total investment cost was significantly higher with A30 (P<0.05), but same profitability values were obtained with all diets (P>0.05). In experiment 2, three stocking densities, 1, 3 and 5 m−2, were assigned to three treatments T1, T2 and T3 respectively. Fish were hand‐fed twice daily with diet A40. The final mean weight (89.53–115.12 g), the mean weight gain (0.81–1.10 g day−1), the specific growth rate (1.90–2.20% day−1) and the apparent food conversion ratio (1.29–1.58) were affected by stocking density, with significant difference (P<0.05) at 5 m−2, compared with the other densities. Stocking density did not affect survival rate (P>0.05). Yield and annual production increased with increasing stocking density, ranging from 7.10 ± 0.90 to 25.01 ± 1.84 kg are−1 and 28.79 ± 3.66 to 101.42 ± 7.48 kg are−1 year−1, respectively, with significant differences between all densities (P<0.05). Higher stocking density resulted in higher gross return and lower cost of fish production, with significant variations (P<0.05). The net return increased with increasing stocking density (P<0.05). However, both densities of 3 and 5 m−2 produced the same profitability values. On the basis of growth values and economic return, it was concluded that Nile tilapia could be raised at a density of 3 fish m−2 with A40 to improve production and generate profit for nutritional security and poverty alleviation in rural areas.  相似文献

To understand the actual production of fish culture about the utilization of dietary protein and excreta impact on the environment between mandarin fish (Siniperca chuatsi) and grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus), the study to investigate the effect of temperatures (19 ± 0.5°C, 24 ± 0.5°C and 29 ± 0.5°C) on ammonia‐N excretion in mandarin fish and grass carp under fed and fasted states was conducted. These two species were fed a practical diet containing 325.2 g kg?1 crude protein at 3% body weight per day. The ammonia‐N excretion rate was significantly increased when temperature increased from 19 to 29°C, and a linear relationship between ammonia‐N excretion rate and temperature. The maximum ammonia‐N excretion levels of mandarin fish and grass carp were observed at 4–8 h and 2–4 h after feeding, respectively, and the minimum values for both species were observed at 24 h after feeding. Under the feeding condition, mandarin fish had a lower ammonia‐N excretion level compared to grass carp at 24°C and 29°C. The average amount of ammonia‐N excreted by mandarin fish at 24 h is significantly higher than grass carp under fasting conditions, except 19 ± 0.5°C. These results indicated that mandarin fish might make better use of protein at higher temperature than grass carp when fed practical diets in commercial production. These results of this study suggested that mandarin fish had a lower ammonia‐N excretion level compared with grass carp, making a less contribution to environmental loading in an intensive fish culture.  相似文献

A feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of replacing soybean meal (SBM) with rubber seed meal (RSM) on digestive enzyme activity, nutrient digestibility and retention in juvenile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus × Oreochromis aureus). Five isonitrogenous and isoenergetic diets were formulated with 0 (control), 100, 200, 300 and 400 g kg−1 RSM replacing graded levels of SBM respectively. Each diet was randomly assigned to triplicate groups of 30 fish (initial average weight 5.2 g) per aquarium in a rearing system maintained at 29 ± 1°C for 8 weeks. The hepatic protease and lipase activities gradually decreased with increasing dietary RSM level, but no significant differences were observed among the low inclusion level (0–200 g kg−1) groups. The apparent digestibility coefficients of dry matter, crude protein, crude lipid and ash showed a similar trend as the hepatic protease and lipase activities. The retentions of protein and individual essential amino acid (except lysine, threonine and leucine) in fish fed diet with 200 g kg−1 RSM were similar to those in fish fed the control diet. These results indicate that dietary RSM inclusion level up to 200 g kg−1 did not markedly affect the digestive enzyme activity, nutrient digestibility and retention in tilapia, whereas these were depressed by the inclusion of 400 g kg−1 RSM.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Juvenile T. rendalli were evaluated for 10 weeks to determine the effect of salinity on growth, feed utilization, and survival in tanks. Fish weighing 3.94 ± 0.44 g were stocked into twelve 50-L rectangular tanks at 15 fish /tank. The fish were raised in three salinity levels (5, 10, 15‰, and freshwater as a control). There were three replicate tanks per treatment. After the feeding experiment, a digestibility trial was conducted for two weeks. After 70 days, fish in the 10‰ treatment grew significantly larger (P < 0.05) than those in 5‰, 15‰, and freshwater. T. rendalli cultured in 10‰ had significantly lower feed conversion ratios and higher feed conversion efficiency and protein efficiency ratios. Survival of the fish was significantly (P < 0.05) different and depended on salinity level. The apparent digestibilities of crude protein, fat, ash, and gross energy were significantly higher (P < 0.05) in T. rendalli cultured in the 10‰ salinity treatment. However, apparent digestibility of dry matter did not differ significantly (P < 0.05) between 10‰ and 5‰. The results obtained indicate that 10‰ is optimal for T. rendalli in tank culture.  相似文献

The critical thermal maximum of juvenile spotted seatrout (SL range 18–33 mm) was determined using a temperature increase of +0.26°C per hour. The critical thermal maximum (water temperature that was lethal to 50% of the test fish [LT50]) for trial 1 was LT50 = 38.8°C, LT50 = 39.4°C for trial 2, and LT50 = 38.9°C for trial 3. Critical thermal maximums differed significantly (P < 0.05) between trials 2 and 3, whereas trial 1 did not differ among trials. This difference correlated with body size, where fish in trial 2 were significantly larger (P < 0.05) (mean = 27.6 ± 2.0 mm in SL) (mean ± SE) than the fish of trials 1 (mean = 23.1 ± 0.5 mm in SL) and 3 (mean = 21.5 ± 0.7 mm in SL), suggesting positive size dependence in the critical thermal maximum.  相似文献

One Tilapia hybridization, Oreochromis aureus, (Steindachner) ♂ × Oreochromis niloticus, (Linnaeus) ♀, and two common carp, Cyprinus carpio, (Linnaeus) ♂, hybridizations, Russian mirror carp ♂ × Xingguo red carp ♀, and German mirror carp ♂ × Xingguo red carp ♀ were used to study the feasibility of predicting heterosis using genetic distance from DNA fingerprinting. The results indicated that highly polymorphic DNA fingerprints could be obtained with human minisatellite 33.6 as a probe on the studied varieties. The within‐population similarity indices of O. aureus, O. niloticus, Russian mirror carp, German mirror carp and Xingguo red carp were 0.785, 0.577, 0.432, 0.348 and 0.339 respectively. The similarity indices between F1 and their parents of three hybridization combinations were not significantly different (P > 0.05). There were larger genetic distances between two hybridization combinations, O. aureus♂ × O. niloticus♀ and Russian mirror carp ♂ × Xingguo red carp ♀, which showed heterosis in production and were extensively used in Chinese aquaculture. The genetic distance between O. aureus♂ and O. niloticus♀ was 0.338, and that between Russian mirror carp and Xingguo red carp was 0.344. However, the genetic distance between German mirror carp and Xingguo red carp was 0.129; this corresponded with the fact that their F1 generation did not show heterosis in the Chinese fish hybridization experiment. The study suggested that genetic distance could be used to predict fish heterosis.  相似文献

Live diets are preferably used for rearing Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens Regan, 1910) since they provide superior growth over the dry feed. In the current study, three different preparations of mosquito larvae were prepared (frozen at ?20°C, F–20; freeze‐dried and kept at 4°C, FD4; freeze‐dried and kept at ambient temperature, FDAT) and were individually fed to 1‐month‐old red male fighting fish (1.18 ± 0.01 g initial body weight) over 6 weeks duration. At the end of experiment, there were no significant differences in growth performance and feed utilization across three dietary treatments (p ? 0.05). Specific activity of lipase was significantly lower in fish fed FD4 and FDAT than with the F–20 diet, while no differences in other enzymes were observed. The fish fed with FDAT diet significantly increased in viscerosomatic index relative to F–20 and FD4 treatments. Significant improvements in skin redness and flesh quality (RNA and RNA/protein ratio) were observed in the fish fed with FDAT diet relative to the other treatments. This preferred FDAT treatment also maintained the carcass composition. Analysis of digestive enzymes in FDAT mosquito larvae demonstrated the presence of protein‐, carbohydrate‐, and lipid‐digesting enzymes after 1 month of storage. The findings from our experiments indicate that the freeze‐dried form (FDAT) of mosquito larvae is suitable for rearing Siamese fighting fish. However, effective preparation protocol and appropriate storage times should be further studied.  相似文献

The aim of this trial was to study the digestibility of corn distiller's dried grains with soluble (DDGS) in Common carp juveniles at two water temperatures 20°C and 30°C. DDGS digestibility was determined based on the substitution of 30% of a reference diet by test DDGS. Three hundred and sixty Common carp juveniles (average weight, 40 ± 7 g) were distributed in thermo‐regulated recirculation water system equipped with twelve 1m3 fibreglass tanks (30 fish per tank), which were allotted to four experimental group in triplicates. Half of the experimental groups were maintained at 20°C, whereas the other half were exposed to 30°C. Juveniles reared under different temperature regimes were fed either of the two diets, with or without DDGS (DDGS diet or reference diet), to evaluate the interaction effect between water temperature and nutrient digestibility of corn DDGS in Common carp. Diet and water temperature interaction was effective in modulating the response of dry matter digestibility of DDGS ingredient, and digestibility was found higher in juveniles reared at 20°C compared with 30°C. Growth, feed efficiency and protein efficiency were higher at 20°C compared with 30°C. Whole body csomposition of Common carp juveniles was found unaffected due to diet and water temperature interaction. Overall, it is concluded that digestibility and growth performance of Common carp is better at 20°C compared with 30°C, and DDGS has high potential for inclusion in diets of Common carp.  相似文献

Critical evaluation of the nutrient requirements of an animal requires the use of a purified reference diet. In this study, the effects of either a purified reference experimental diet, a practical experimental diet and an imported commercial diet on the growth and nutritional condition of the prawn Penaeusmonodon were compared. The reference diet, based on widely available ingredients of consistent and known nutrient content, supported excellent prawn growth when fed either ad libitum or subsatiation (≈ 75% of the mean initial satiation intake). In a 6-week experiment, growth (as percentage increase in weight, ± SEM) of the prawns fed ad libitum differed significantly (P < 0.05) between each diet in the order: practical (142 ± 10%), reference (121 ± 9%) and commercial (91 ± 16%). Growth for the reference diet fed subsatiation was 116 ± 4%, and was not significantly (P > 0.05) different from that obtained with the same diet fed ad libitum. Dry matter food conversion for the reference diet was significantly (P < 0.05) better when fed subsatiation (1.58 ± 0.08) rather than ad libitum (2.08 ± 0.06) and better than that obtained with either the practical (3.40 ± 0.15) or commercial (3.02 ± 0.28) diets, which were not significantly (P > 0.05) different from each other. The lipid content (mg g–1 of prawn) of the digestive gland of prawns fed ad libitum was similar for reference, practical and commercial diets (6.03 ± 0.38, 4.92 ± 0.90 and 4.92 ± 0.95 mg g–1 of prawn, respectively), but significantly (P < 0.05) higher than that for the reference diet fed subsatiation (4.73 ± 0.38 mg g–1 of prawn).  相似文献

Microwave processing and pelleting methods were assessed to improve aquafeed quality for sex‐reversed Nile tilapia. The 2 × 3 experimental feeds were prepared with and without microwave irradiation of ingredients prior to pelleting with either a meat mincer, extruder or steam conditioner followed by a meat mincer. Five feedstuff ingredients, including fish meal, meat and bone meal, soybean meal, broken rice and rice bran, were irradiated separately at optimal times, according to the third‐order polynomial regression analysis between in vitro digestibility and microwave irradiation times (= 0.681–0.942, < 0.001, = 42). The prepared feeds were studied for chemical compositions and responses in fish growth performance and feed utilization efficiency. The fish (1.57 ± 0.01 g initial weight) were fed ad libitum for 4 months. All proximate chemical compositions of experimental feeds, except protein, were influenced by microwave processing, pelleting methods or their interaction (< 0.05). There were no significant effects from either parameter on water quality during the fish trial. Fish fed steamed microwave‐irradiated feed, mechanically pelleted with a meat mincer, showed the highest growth performance (weight gain 18.91 ± 0.73 g and specific growth rate 2.15 ± 0.26% day?1) and feed utilization efficiency (feed conversion ratio 1.31 ± 0.05 g feed g gain?1 and protein efficiency ratio 2.27 ± 0.08 g gain g protein?1) compared with the other dietary groups. These findings indicate that microwave irradiation of feed ingredients prior to steam conditioning followed by mincing can improve aquafeed production quality.  相似文献
