基于Web的智能教学系统的设计模型

针对传统智能教学系统存在的不足,本文提出了一种基于Web的智能教学系统设计模型.系统采用知识结构网的表示方法描述领域知识;利用BP网络对学生的学习能力进行衡量,根据BP网络的衡量结果选择个性化的教学方法,实施因材施教.

Extraterrestrial intelligence: an observational approach

The microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum, a plausible regime for signals from extraterrestrial intelligences, is largely unexplored. With new technology, particularly in data processing and low-noise reception, surveys can be conducted over broad regions of frequency and space with existing antennas at flux densities plausible for interstellar signals. An all-sky, broad-band survey lasting perhaps 5 years can be structured so that even negative results would establish significant boundaries on the regime in which such signals may be found. The technology and techniques developed and much of the data acquired would be applicable to radio astronomy and deep-space communications.

Deciphering the message in protein sequences: tolerance to amino acid substitutions

An amino acid sequence encodes a message that determines the shape and function of a protein. This message is highly degenerate in that many different sequences can code for proteins with essentially the same structure and activity. Comparison of different sequences with similar messages can reveal key features of the code and improve understanding of how a protein folds and how it performs its function.     

On the nature of intelligence

Our concept of intelligence has been heavily influenced by the development of intelligence tests as screening devices in education and personnel selection. An alternative approach is to begin with a theory of the process of cognition and identify those aspects of individual mental performance that should be important on theoretical grounds. Three classes of performance have been identified. These deal with a person's choice of an internal representation for a problem, strategies for manipulating the representation, and abilities to execute elementary information processing steps required by the strategy.     

Estimation of the half-life of a secretory protein message

Synthesis of a specific secretory protein was followed in the presence of actinomycin D and cordycepin (3'-deoxyadenosine). The apparent half-life of the messenger RNA for this protein is significantly longer in the presence of actinomycin D than in the presence of cordycepin. These results suggest that actinomycin D studies of half-life in specialized cells may be inaccurate.
