A mathematical model of cell cycle progression is presented, which integrates recent biochemical information on the interaction of the maturation promotion factor (MPF) and cyclin. The model retrieves the dynamics observed in early embryos and explains how multiple cycles of MPF activity can be produced and how the internal clock that determines durations and number of cycles can be adjusted by modulating the rate of change in MPF or cyclin concentrations. Experiments are suggested for verifying the role of MPF activity in determining the length of the somatic cell cycle. 相似文献

Calmodulin (CaM) is a major effector for the intracellular actions of Ca2+ in nearly all cell types. We identified a CaM-binding protein, designated regulator of calmodulin signaling (RCS). G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR)-dependent activation of protein kinase A (PKA) led to phosphorylation of RCS at Ser55 and increased its binding to CaM. Phospho-RCS acted as a competitive inhibitor of CaM-dependent enzymes, including protein phosphatase 2B (PP2B, also called calcineurin). Increasing RCS phosphorylation blocked GPCR- and PP2B-mediated suppression of L-type Ca2+ currents in striatal neurons. Conversely, genetic deletion of RCS significantly increased this modulation. Through a molecular mechanism that amplifies GPCR- and PKA-mediated signaling and attenuates GPCR- and PP2B-mediated signaling, RCS synergistically increases the phosphorylation of key proteins whose phosphorylation is regulated by PKA and PP2B. 相似文献

番茄溃疡病(Ciavibater michigtmensesubspmichganense)是一种毁灭性的病害,自1909年最早在美国密执安州(即密歇根州)发生以来。,已广泛分布于世界各地。我国一直将它列为危险性检疫对象,1985年首次在北京市平谷县乐政务公社生产田中发现。据农业部植物保护总站调查。现已迅速蔓延到河北、内蒙古、辽宁、吉林、黑龙江、山西、山东和上海等9个省(市)。保护地和露地番茄均可受害,一般田块发病株率在5%-30%,重者高达70%以上,被迫提前拉秧,损失惨重。 相似文献

The proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA or cyclin) is a nuclear protein recently identified as a cofactor of DNA polymerase delta. When exponentially growing Balb/c3T3 cells are exposed to antisense oligodeoxynucleotides to PCNA, both DNA synthesis and mitosis are completely suppressed. A corresponding sense oligodeoxynucleotide has no inhibitory effects. These experiments indicate that PCNA (cyclin) is important in cellular DNA synthesis and in cell cycle progression. 相似文献

Cyclin E binds and activates the cyclin-dependent kinase Cdk2 and catalyzes the transition from the G1 phase to the S phase of the cell cycle. The amount of cyclin E protein present in the cell is tightly controlled by ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis. Here we identify the ubiquitin ligase responsible for cyclin E ubiquitination as SCFFbw7 and demonstrate that it is functionally conserved in yeast, flies, and mammals. Fbw7 associates specifically with phosphorylated cyclin E, and SCFFbw7 catalyzes cyclin E ubiquitination in vitro. Depletion of Fbw7 leads to accumulation and stabilization of cyclin E in vivo in human and Drosophila melanogaster cells. Multiple F-box proteins contribute to cyclin E stability in yeast, suggesting an overlap in SCF E3 ligase specificity that allows combinatorial control of cyclin E degradation. 相似文献

本研究探明新余市蒙山山麓稻区水稻栽培制度不合理,虫源田、过渡桥梁田大量存在,是造成三化螟种群上升的重要原因。水稻生育期提前,二代过渡桥梁田由迟熟早稻改为一季晚稻和二季晚稻秧田为主,幼虫滞育时间较长,以及螟虫营养条件改善,是导致主害代由四代转变为三代的直接原因。三代转化率低使四代三化螟种群数量下降,为害减轻。同时,针对该地区三化螟发生规律,阐明了调整栽培制度,消灭越冬虫源,提高栽培技术,减轻螟害的措施,以及“兼治一代,挑治二代,狠治三代”的药剂防治策略。提出了第四代三化螟预报中应注意的问题。 相似文献
