Antioxidant activity of medicinal plant polysaccharides   总被引:12,自引:0,他引:12  
Eleven polysaccharides have been isolated from the leaves of Arctium lappa var. herkules, Aloe barbadensis, Althaea officinalis var. robusta, Plantago lanceolata var. libor, aerial parts and roots of Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii, stems of Mahonia aquifolium, and peach-tree (Prunus persica) gum exudates. The polysaccharides were investigated for their ability to inhibit peroxidation of soyabean lecithin liposomes by OH radicals. The highest inhibition was found with glucuronoxylans of A. officinalis var. robusta and P. lanceolata var. libor, aerial parts. Their antioxidant activity accounted for approximately 69% of the activity of the reference compound alpha-tocopherol. The activity of eight polysaccharides ranged from 20 to 45%, while the fructofuranan from P. lanceolata var. libor roots was practically inactive.  相似文献

The antioxidant properties of the methanol extract of leaves and flowers of Erica arborea and the ethyl acetate, butanol and water soluble fractions were investigated. Methanolic extracts of Viscum album ssp. album (mistletoe) grown on different host trees were investigated for their potential antioxidant activity. Scavenging activity was tested by 1,1­diphenyl­2­picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method and the inhibitory effect on lipid peroxidation was examined by ferric thiocyanate and thiobarbituric acid methods. The extract from mistletoe grown on lime tree in summer showed the highest activity. It was found that antioxidant capacity of the plant differed according to the harvesting time as well as the host tree.  相似文献

通过研究竹醋液与茶多酚复配后的协同抗氧化效果,考察了两种复配液(竹醋液与茶多酚的体积比分别为10∶1和5∶1)对DPPH、超氧阳离子O2·-和羟基自由基·OH的清除能力.结果显示:竹醋液与茶多酚复配液的抗氧化能力优于单独竹醋液或单独茶多酚,即复合抗氧化剂具有协同清除自由基的作用.可见,竹醋液与茶多酚复配后,产生了协同效应,复配液抗氧化能力不仅与复配物本身性质有关,并且与复配物的比例有关.  相似文献

Maytenus ilicifolia is an important plant with potential on cancer treatment and has been largely used in Brazil and other countries. We have evaluated the crude ethanolic extract of M. ilicifolia as a potential antioxidant source using an assay based on the bleaching of the radical monocation 2,2'-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS(*+)) and by HOCl scavenger capacity. Trolox and uric acid were used as positive controls. The results indicated M. ilicifolia root bark as a great source of antioxidants based on its potential as scavenger of radicals.  相似文献

The antioxidant activity of the methanol extract of Filipendula hexapetala flowers was assessed by the assay for ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), the assay for DPPH free radical scavenging ability (DPPH) and the assay for the influence of lipid peroxidation in liposomes, induced by Fe(2+)/ascorbate system and measured by the TBA test (LP). The activity of the investigated extract in all test-systems was found to be significant. Calocedrus formosana Florin (Cupressaceae) is an endemic tree to Taiwan. To evaluate the antioxidant activity of the plant extracts from heartwood, bark, and leaf of C. formosana, assays for 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical and superoxide anion scavenging activities, as well as prevention of DNA strand cleavage were performed in this study. Similar IC50 values against the DPPH radical were found for the heartwood and bark extracts at approximately 23µg/ml. Moreover, the heartwood extract exhibited the highest inhibitory activity against superoxide radicals among the test samples; a 2.3-fold lower value of IC50 for superoxide radical inhibition was found in the heartwood extract relative to that of (+)-catechin. Much less effect on inhibition of DPPH and superoxide radicals was found from the leaf extract of C. formosana. More than 70% of superoxide radicals were inhibited in the presence of 10µg/ml heartwood extract, whereas only 15% inhibition was obtained from the leaf extract. The heartwood extract, at a dose of approximately 0.5mg/ml, apparently completely prevented the X174 supercoiled DNA cleavage induced by ultraviolet photolysis of H2O2, as judged by agarose gel electrophoresis. This report also suggests that the antioxidant activities of the plant extracts of C. formosana are in good correlation with their phenolic contents.  相似文献

The ethanol and methanol extracts of Cassia auriculata flowers were screened for antioxidant activity. The antioxidant activity was determined by an improved assay based on the decolorization of the radical monocation of 2,2'-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging method. Three new flavanes and eight known flavonoids were isolated from the fruits of Livistona chinensis. The structure of the new flavanes were established as 2S,3S-3,5,7,3′,5′-pentahydroxyflavane (1), 2R,3R-3,5,6,7,8,4′-hexahydroxyflavane (2) and 2R,3R-3,5,6,7,8,3′,5′-heptahydroxyflavane (3), respectively, on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic data. The antiproliferative activity against four human tumor cell lines (HL-60, Mata, HepG2 and CNE-1) was evaluated. 1 had significantly antiproliferative effects against HL-60 and CNE-1 with the IC50 of 0.2 ± 0.01 and 1.0 ± 0.1 μM, respectively, overpowering the reference compound in the assay (cisplatin). Most compounds also exhibited potent antioxidant activity.  相似文献

Activity-guided fractionation of the methanol extract of Ebenus pinnata aerial parts led to the isolation of ombuoside (1), kaempferol 3-O-rutinoside (2), rutin (3), catechin (4), and picein (5), along with beta-sitosterol and beta-sitosterol glucoside. Methanolic extracts from inflorescences and leaves of five Cirsium species: C. arvense, C. oleraceum, C. palustre, C. rivulare and C. vulgare and CHCl3, Et2O, EtOAc, n-BuOH fractions obtained from those extracts were investigated for their antioxidant activity. The antioxidant activity measurement, expressed as Total Antioxidant Status, ranged from 0.98 to 2.71 mM/l. The total phenolic content of the samples varied from 12 to 804 mg/g. There was a positive correlation between the total phenolic content and antioxidant activity for MeOH extracts and EtOAc fractions (R2=0.95, 0.8 respectively).  相似文献

采用清除OH.能力、清除O2-.能力、抗脂质过氧化能力和还原能力对笃斯越橘花色苷进行体外抗氧化活性的研究和相关性分析。结果表明:笃斯越橘花色苷具有良好的抗氧化活性,是天然抗氧化剂潜在来源。笃斯越橘花色苷含量与OH.清除率、O2-.清除率、抗脂质过氧化抑制率和还原能力具有显著的相关性(相关系数r分别为:0.9929、0.9700、0.9530、0.9807),呈明显的量效关系。OH.清除能力、O2-.清除能力及抗脂质过氧化能力的IC50值分别为28.53、123.32、55.64μg/mL。  相似文献

将酸溶性黑木耳多糖分别用50%、75%、100%乙醇分级沉淀得到3种多糖级分(APG6-1、APG6-2、APG6-3),分别在ABTS、DPPH、超氧阴离子和金属离子螯合不同体系下进行体外抗氧化性研究。结果表明:APG6-3的抗氧化性最强,其ABTS、DPPH、超氧阴离子和金属离子螯合的清除率分别为98.4%、99.3%、74.9%和86.3%。  相似文献

采用超声波辅助乙醇法提取美藤果籽粕多酚,通过单因素和正交试验法确定了美藤果籽粕多酚的较佳提取条件。结果显示,较佳提取条件为乙醇体积分数80%、料液比1∶10、提取时间40 min和提取次数3次,在此条件下,美藤果籽粕多酚含量为0.623 mg/g。采用DPPH自由基清除活性测定方法评价了美藤果籽粕多酚的抗氧化活性,其清除DPPH自由基的SC50值为159.303μg/m L。  相似文献
