Summary The past 25 years, 1686 potato accessions, representing 100 species in the genus Solanum L., subgenus Potatoe, section Petota, were evaluated for field resistance to one or more of the following insect pests: green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer); potato aphid, Macrosiphum euphorbiae (Thomas); Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say); potato flea beetle, Epitrix cucumeris (Harris); and potato leafhopper, Empoasca fabae (Harris). Accessions highly resistant to green peach aphid were identified within 36 species, to potato aphid within 24 species, to Colorado potato beetle within 10 species, to potato flea beetle within 25 species, and to potato leafhopper within 39 species. Resistance levels were characteristic within Solanum species. Insect resistance appears to be a primitive trait in wild potatoes. Susceptibility was most common in the primitive and cultivated Tuberosa. Insect resistance was also characteristic of the most advanced species. The glycoalkaloid tomatine was associated with field resistance to Colorado potato beetle and potato leafhopper. Other glycoalkaloids were not associated with field resistance at the species level. Dense hairs were associated with resistance to green peach aphid, potato flea beetle, and potato leafhopper. Glandular trichomes were associated with field resistance to Colorado potato beetle, potato flea beetle, and potato leafhopper. Significant correlations between insect score and altitude of original collection were observed in six of thirteen species. Species from hot and arid areas were associated with resistance to Colorado potato beetle, potato flea beetle, and potato leafhopper. A rapid, simple and reliable technique was developed for evaluating Brassica accessions in the glasshouse for resistance to Brevicoryne brassicae, the cabbage aphid. Brassica accessions were grouped into crop types with similar habit and vigour for evaluation. 401 Brassica oleracea accessions, representing the genetic and geographic diversity of the species, were evaluated for resistance to a population of B. brassicae collected originally from HRI, Wellesbourne. Ninety eight accessions were identified as being moderately resistant (grade 3) or partially resistant (grade 4). Re-testing of accessions in the glasshouse identified 12 moderately resistant and 43 partially resistant accessions. The most promising gene pool was kale, where a higher than expected number of resistant accessions were found. Three of the kales were consistently rated as moderately resistant in all tests. In contrast the broccoli gene pool was a poor source of resistance with less (one out of 46) resistant accessions than expected. Eleven of the kales graded 3 were tested in the field in 1995 and resistance to B. brassicae was confirmed. Ten accessions were also tested for resistance to two additional populations of B. brassicae, one from Greece and the other from Portugal. The results provided no evidence of aphid biotype/host specific differences in the resistance of these B. oleracea accessions. Screening for resistance to the potato cyst nematode, Globodera pallida, in potatoes from. Bolivia, was carried out in 1983 and 1984, using a mixture of four nematode populations representing pathotypes Pa1, Pa2 and Pa3 From the 66 accessions of 17 species and subspecies evaluated, highly resistant genotypes were identified in 21 accessions from seven species. All had Pf/Pi values of 2 or less, whereas the susceptible control, Solanum tuberosum cv. ‘Disiree’ had Pf/Pi values of more than 2G in both tests. Two diploid wild species, S. brevicaule and S. leptophyes, showed the best resistant. The geographical distributional of resistant populations and the evolution of resistance in wild potato populations are discussed.  相似文献

The green peach aphid, here abbreviated as green peach aphid (GPA), is a significant global pest of pepper. Conventional insecticide use risks the development of resistance and harms beneficial insects, whereas the deployment of resistant pepper cultivars offers an effective, economical and eco-friendly management strategy. However, no GPA resistance gene has yet been identified in pepper. In this study, greenhouse and field screening for resistance to GPA in 24 pepper cultivars identified 'ZDC' as highly resistant and 'DYJJ' as highly susceptible. Subsequent inheritance analysis using these cultivars as parents showed that the segregation ratio of resistant and susceptible offspring was 1:1 for F1 plants and 3:1 for F2 plants. This indicated that pepper resistance to GPA was controlled by a single dominant gene. The highly resistant cultivar 'ZDC' may enable incorporation of resistance in future breeding programmes following further investigations to establish a fuller understanding of the genetics of GPA resistance in this species.  相似文献

跳甲是油菜苗期最主要的虫害。以42个油菜品种(系)为供试材料,通过分析田间跳甲为害指数和测定4种主要防御酶苯丙氨酸解氨酶(PAL)、多酚氧化酶(PPO)、过氧化物酶(POD)及超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)活性,研究油菜对跳甲的抗性,从中筛选抗跳甲油菜资源。田间跳甲为害指数统计结果显示,芥菜型油菜品种大辣芥、白芥和甘蓝型油菜品种青杂12号、青杂2号的为害指数2年都较低;青杂12号、大辣芥、白芥的PAL、PPO、POD、SOD活性最强。综上,甘蓝型油菜品种青杂12号、芥菜型油菜品种大辣芥和白芥抗跳甲能力最强,可以作为抗跳甲资源。  相似文献

在烟草栽培区,利用黄皿和绿皿共诱集传毒介体有翅蚜32种,其中桃蚜Myzum persicae棉蚜Aphis gossypiiGlover分别占诱集蚜一的47%和23%。烟田 类型不同病毒病发生程度不同,单作田和临菜田病毒病发生严重,麦磁种田较轻;5月迁入烟田的有翅得与病毒病发生关系密切;提出防治烟草病毒尖通过早期防治病源有翅蚜和玫烟套种等配套的措施,建立新的烟田农业生态体系。  相似文献

The Commonwealth Potato Collection contains 77 species following the incorporation of the personal collection of Professor JG Hawkes. The material originates from several expeditions to the Americas and represents a potentially valuable source of resistance to pests and pathogens, including potato cyst nematodes (PCN). The germplasm from the Hawkes collection screened in this study included taxa mainly from Mexico, Bolivia, Argentina and Peru. Seedlings of 198 accessions, from 63 different species were screened for reaction to the PCN species G. pallida and G. rostochiensis. Of the 198 accessions tested, 56% contained G. pallida-resistant clones and 53% contained clones resistant to G. rostochiensis. Twelve species in this survey are believed to contain novel, previously unreported sources of resistance. The geographical distribution of resistance indicated a contrast between the two PCN species. Although, as in previous studies, resistance to G. rostochiensis was centred on Bolivia and Argentina, G. pallida resistance was found across the geographical range of tuber-bearing Solanum. The possibility of cross-resistance arising from selective pressure from the more northern species G. mexicana is discussed. 为解析一套(559份)从世界各国收集的马铃薯种质资源的遗传多样性,用16个表型性状和36个SSR标记进行了聚类和多样性参数分析。对454份表型数据完整材料的UPGMA聚类分析表明,在欧氏距离14.66处被聚成2个类群(A_1和A),其中A_1在欧氏距离12.74处被分为A_(11)和A_(12)亚群;454份材料在欧氏距离11.73处被划成9个类群,包括4个小类(A、B、C和H)和5个大类(D、E、F、G和I),其中类群I所包括的材料占总数的57.5%,该结果较好地揭示了马铃薯种质材料之间的形态差异,区分生态类型不同和遗传差异明显的亲本。36个SSR标记在559份材料中共检测出134个多态性位点,每对引物检测1~7个等位变异,平均3.72个,引物多态性信息量(PIC)为0.1545~0.7743,平均为0.5783,说明品种间有丰富的遗传多样性。NJ系统进化树分析表明,559份材料可分为3个大群。类群I为一个混合群,各地区品种均有分布,包括133份马铃薯材料,占总数的23.8%;类群II中欧洲、北美及中国东北和西北地区的材料所占比重较大,数量为187,占33.5%;类群III中北美、南美以及中国东北和西南地区马铃薯材料所占比重较大,包含239份材料,占42.8%。表型性状聚类与SSR分子标记聚类结果相似,均与地理位置有很大相关性,应结合共同用于评价马铃薯品种遗传多样性。  相似文献

Summary Six lettuce lines, representing two types of resistance to the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae, and a control line with high susceptibility to M. persicae were tested for resistance to six different clones of Myzus persicae and two clones of the potato aphid, Macrosiphum euphorbiae.The clones of M. persicae showed very different levels of aggressiveness on lettuce: two had a high level of reproduction, two had an intermediate level and two were poorly adapted to lettuce as a host. Differences between lettuce lines in aphid reproduction increased with increasing aggressiveness of the aphid clone, which means that aggressive clones are most effective for selection purposes. No evidence was found for clone-specific plant genotype reactions, meaning that lines resistant to one clone will also be resistant to other clones of M. persicae, allthough not neccessarily at the same level. The lettuce lines selected for partial resistance to the aggressive clone WMp1 were completely or almost completely resistant to less aggresive clones.No differences in level of reproduction were found between the two clones of M. euphorbiae and no relation was observed between resistance to M. persicae and M. euphorbiae, indicating the species-specific character of resistance to leaf aphids in lettuce.  相似文献

Summary Degeneration of seed tubers caused by viruses is a major constraint to potato cultivation in many warm tropical areas. Cultivars resistant to the most important viruses present a promising solution to such a problem. In a breeding study conducted at the International Potato Center (CIP), ten cultivars resistant to PLRV were crossed to five clones immune to PVX and PVY, as well as to a susceptible control. The resulting progenies were screened for PVX and PVY immunity. Afterwards, the resistant genotypes were fieldexposed to a PLRV-viruliferous aphid population. One tuber was harvested from each plant and used to assess, using ELISA serology, the presence of leafroll virus. The cultivars Serrana and Pentland Crown gave the best progenies in terms of percentage of healthy plants, with values of 47.4 and 33.3 respectively. The presence of joint infection of PLRV and PVY or PVX in the progenies of the susceptible control resulted in an increased susceptibility to leafroll.  相似文献

Summary Accessions obtained from the Commenwealth Potato Collection were evaluated for resistance to European populations of potato cyst-nematodes (PCN). With over 36% of the current collection assessed, resistance to pathotypes of both Globodera rostochiensis and G. pallida were identified in 16 species from Argentina, Bolivia or Peru. Resistance to all PCN pathotypes was particularly prevalent in species from the Andean regions of Bolivia and North Argentina, supporting the hypothesis of co-evolution of the potato and PCN in these regions.  相似文献

Tests for antibiosis and antixenosis resistance to Rhopalosiphum padi L., the bird cherry-oat aphid, were conducted among four wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and eight triticale (XTriticosecale Wittmack) accessions. Tests for antibiosis included measuring R. padi-population growth over 13 days, number of days to reproduction of individual R. padi, and number of aphid progeny produced in the first 7 days of adulthood. Antixenosis was measured in no-choice nymphiposition tests and in choice tests of host selection by winged R. padi. Three of seven triticale accessions limited R. padi populations relative to control accessions. Lower R. padi-population growth on N1185 and Okto Derzhavina could be explained partially by increased developmental times. Lower R. padi-population growth on triticale accessions N1185, N1186 and Okto Derzhavina could be explained at least partially by fewer aphid progeny on these accessions. Developmental time of R. padi on N1185 and Okto Derzhavina was greater than that on Stniism 3 triticale, identified previously as resistant to R. padi. There were less R. padi progeny on N1185 than on Stniism 3, and comparable numbers of R. padi progeny among N1186, Okto Derzhavina, and Stniism 3. None of the accessions limited nymphiposition by R. padi. Choice tests revealed heterogeneity in host selection by R. padi but an overall trend that triticale accessions Okto Derzhavina, N1185, N1186 and Stniism 3 were less preferred hosts than Arapahoe wheat. Relatively strong resistance in these triticale accessions warrant consideration of their future use in breeding programs for cereal-aphid resistance.  相似文献

A total of 259 accessions of wild Triticum species originating from different countries, along with 91 triticale (6×)× bread wheat true-breeding derivatives, two bread wheat, and three triticale cultivars were screened for resistance to the Russian wheat aphid, a serious insect pest of the wheat crop. Twenty-four entries with low damage ratings on the basis of amount of leaf rolling and leaf chlorosis were retested along with resistant and susceptible controls. On the basis of leaf roll damage ratings, eight entries including four Triticum monococcum var. boeoticum (T. boeoticum), one T. monococcum var. monococcum (T. monococcum), two T. timopheevii var. araraticum (T. araraticum), and one triticale cultivar were significantly superior to ‘Karl’ (susceptible control) wheat. Among these, four accessions — three T. boeoticum and one T. araraticum— were significantly superior to all other entries and were equal to the resistant control (PI 372129) in resistance rating based on leaf rolling and leaf chlorosis (except T. boeoticum TA 202). The leaf chlorosis damage rating of all accessions were significantly lower than that of the susceptible check.  相似文献

Schizaphis graminum (Rondani) is a serious pest of cultivated wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and resistance is only available in other related species such as Hordeum chilense. Amphiploids between H. chilense and Triticum spp. have been obtained, and addition lines of H. chilense in wheat have been developed. Thirty-five accessions of H. chilense were screened to identify greenbug antixenosis, antibiosis and tolerance. Antixenosis was determined in a conventional host free choice test; antibiosis was measured by aphid life cycle and fecundity rate, and tolerance was tested in a conventional infestation test of 4 weeks. Two commercial barley cultivars were used as susceptible and resistant controls. Eight H. chilense accessions showed higher degrees of antixenosis than the resistant check, 19 were similar and the rest were lower. All accessions were more resistant than the susceptible check. Measured by aphid life cycle, 22 H. chilense accessions showed higher antibiosis than the resistant cv., and all exhibited a higher antibiotic effect on fecundity rates than the control. A similar degree of tolerance to that of the resistant control was observed in six accessions, the remaining entries ranged between the controls. The presence of one mechanism did not exclude the existence of other mechanisms in the same entry and therefore, independence of the different mechanisms is proposed. Most of the accessions showed higher variability than both controls for the three mechanisms, and it appears to be genetic variability within entries for the three mechanisms.  相似文献

马铃薯甲虫(Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say)又称科罗拉多马铃薯甲虫,是国际上公认的毁灭性检疫害虫之一,给世界马铃薯产业造成了重大损失。目前陕西尚未发现该甲虫。为了评估马铃薯甲虫在陕西省的潜在危险性,以制定科学的检疫对策。参照国际上有害生物风险分析方法,结合其最适宜寄主分布及其分布区的气象数据,对马铃薯甲虫在陕西省的3个地理区域进行了综合分析评价。结果表明:马铃薯甲虫在陕北、关中和陕南的评估风险性R值分别为2.331、2.051和2.149。马铃薯甲虫在陕西全境属于高度危险性害虫,鉴于马铃薯甲虫在陕西省的高度风险性,提出了防止马铃薯甲虫入侵陕西的检疫对策。  相似文献

对取食不同棉花品种后棉蚜羧酸酯酶比活力测定结果表明:不同棉花品种对棉蚜羧酸酯酶活性影响较大,并且能影响棉蚜羧酸酯酶对底物的活性。棉蚜取食高抗品种后,总的羧酸酯酶活力提高,并且酶活力与单宁的含量呈不显著的正相关(r=0.787)。这种相关性表明棉花中的单宁的含量可能是影响棉蚜外源解毒酶活性提高的一个因素,同时棉蚜羧酯酯酶的活性也是衡量棉花抗性的一个指标。  相似文献

We carried out an assessment of the resistance of 71 accessions of cotton ( Gossypium spp. L.) to the aphid Aphis gossypii and to leafhoppers under natural infestation. Our objectives were (i) to improve the methods for screening cotton germplasm for resistance to both pests, and (ii) to test the existence of genetic correlation between resistances to both insects. For both insects, the percentage of colonized leaves exhibited high genotypic correlation with the number of insects per leaf, had similar or higher heritabilities, and appeared as the better measure of insect populations. The one-plant-per-plot experimental design used allowed an assessment of resistance with high heritability value, and proved to be suitable for the screening of cotton germplasm. G. arboreum was more resistant to both insects than G. barbadense and G. hirsutum . While hairiness had a significant negative effect on resistance to aphids, no significant effect was observed on resistance to leafhoppers, excepted in G. arboreum . The lack of genotypic correlation between resistance to aphids and to leafhoppers demonstrated that a simultaneous improvement of the resistance is possible.  相似文献

以番茄属中近源野生种L.pennellii的16份核心种质为试材,开展对红蜘蛛和蚜虫抗虫特性的鉴定和评估。结果表明,16份核心种质中除LA1920高感红蜘蛛外,其余15份均对红蜘蛛表现出明显的抗性。15份抗红蜘蛛的材料中,1份表现免疫,12份表现高抗。试验还表明,16份材料对蚜虫均表现出很高的抗性,野生材料单株上的蚜虫数均明显少于栽培番茄,其中9份材料对蚜虫表现免疫,7份表现高抗。  相似文献

Certain Native Americans from the Pacific Northwest and Alaska of the USA have grown potatoes in their gardens for many generations. In this study, the origin of several potatoes collected from Native gardens was investigated. Fourteen SSR markers covering the 12 potato homologs yielding a total of 199 alleles were amplified and scored in Solanum tuberosum Group Andigena (52 accessions), S. tuberosum Group. Tuberosum (39 accessions) and wild species (6 accessions). “Ozette” from the Makah Nation on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State was closely related to “Maria’s” and “Kasaan” potatoes collected from Native Alaskan gardens in Southeast Alaska. These three potatoes were more closely related to either two Mexican and one Peruvian andigena accessions or three Chilean Group Tuberosum accessions, while being relatively less related to the old European or modern varieties and most distantly related to Group Andigenum. “To-Le-Ak” was closely related to two Chilean tuberosum accessions and one old European variety. All Native potatoes harbored T-type chloroplast genome indicating that their maternal lineage is shared with Chilean Group Tuberosum. Using genetic relationship as a guide to origin it appears plausible that the Native American/Alaskan cultivars are either directly or indirectly from Mexico and Chile. These Native potato cultivars present a possible second route of diffusion distinct from the South America to Europe transfer which has been assumed to the sole means by which potato was spread out of South America.  相似文献

就海南省崖城、金江、通什和两院地区豇豆上的豇豆蚜对敌敌畏、三氟氯氰菊酯、辛硫磷和氰戊菊酯的敏感性进行了初步调查与研究。试验结果表明,不同地区豇豆蚜对敌敌畏、三氟氯氰菊酯、辛硫磷和氰戊菊酯的敏感性存在明显差异。崖城和金江两地区豇豆蚜种群对三氟氯氰菊酯、辛硫磷、氰戊菊酯和DDV均表现出较强的抗药性。以两院地区豇豆蚜作为敏感品系,崖城和金江两地区豇豆蚜种群对三氟氯氰菊酯、辛硫磷、氰戊菊酯、DDV的LC50抗性比值分别为21.86倍、22.78倍、17.88倍、13.49倍和10.91倍、12.59倍、11.47倍和13.49倍。通什地区的豇豆蚜对三氟氯氰菊酯、辛硫磷、氰戊菊酯和DDV的抗性也有一定的提高,与两院种群LC50抗性比值分别为1.58倍、12.27倍、4.45倍和2.28倍。而且崖城、金江和通什地区豇豆蚜种群对三氟氯氰菊酯、辛硫磷、氰戊菊酯和DDV抗性种群的异质性很强。  相似文献
