Torsion of abdominal organs in sows: a report of 36 cases

Necropsy records of 36 sows with torsion of abdominal organs involving individually the stomach, the spleen, a liver lobe or the intestine were reviewed for the years 1970 to 1983, and the age, the clinical signs and the gross lesions were recorded. These acute abdominal accidents were characterized clinically by sudden death. Dry sows from large breeding units were affected. Twenty-six cases were diagnosed between January 1981 and December 1983 while only ten cases had been seen between 1970 and 1980. Gastric torsion was the most common condition (40% of the cases) and the other three conditions were equally represented (20% each). Management practises that could be responsible for the apparent increase in occurrence of this problem are discussed.     

己烯雌酚对胎鼠睾丸发育的影响研究

为了研究己烯雌酚(DES)对胎鼠睾丸发育的影响,将雌鼠随机分为对照组和试验1、2、3组,每组10只。3个试验组母鼠从怀孕第10~18天分别每天连续皮下注射DES 2、4和8μg只/,对照组则注射同等剂量的生理盐水,于最后一次注射后2 h取出胎鼠睾丸。常规石蜡切片,HE染色镜检,并应用免疫组织化学方法检测雄性胎鼠睾丸中增殖细胞核抗原(PCNA)的表达情况。结果显示:2μg组睾丸发育情况接近对照组,无明显病理变化;4μg组仅见生殖母细胞和间质细胞数量减少;8μg组可见生殖母细胞核仁不明显,支持细胞数量减少,间质细胞溶解;随着用药剂量的增加,睾丸中PCNA含量显著降低(P<0.05)。结果表明DES会抑制胚胎期睾丸细胞的增殖,从而影响睾丸的发育,破坏睾丸的组织结构。     

Teratoma and cyst formation of the equine cryptorchid testicle

In three horses with abdominally retained testicles, teratomas with cyst formation were found. Bone development in the head of the epididymis, near the vascular supply of the tumor, was a consistent finding. Aspiration of the cystic portion of the tumor was necessary for surgical removal in two cases. Although germinal carcinoma cells have been suggested as the cause of teratomas, evidence of malignancy was not seen in any of the three tumors.     

Two cases of intrascrotal torsion of a normal testicle

This paper reports two cases of torsion of a normal fully descended testicle in the dog, reviews the literature and discusses the pathogenesis of the condition.     

用液氮冷冻保存犊牛睾丸原质细胞

进行了液氮冷冻保存犊牛睾丸原质细胞的试验.共制备了3批冷冻细胞,每批均包括原质细胞、原代细胞和次代细胞,并将其分别放入I号冷冻液和II号冷冻液中冻存.试验表明,用冻存方法保存犊牛睾丸原质细胞是切实可行的,而且用I号冷冻液冻存细胞的复活率明显高于II号冷冻液.
