Sugi (Cryptomeria japonica D. Don) and buna (Fugus crenata Blume) woods were treated with supercritical water (>374°C, >22.1 MPa) and fractionated into a water-soluble portion and a water-insoluble residue. The latter was washed with methanol to be fractionated further into a methanol-soluble portion and a methanol-insoluble residue. Whereas the carbohydrate-derived products were in the water-soluble portion, most of the lignin-derived products were found in the methanol-soluble portion and methanol-insoluble residue. The lignin-derived products in the methanol-soluble portion were shown to have more phenolic hydroxyl groups than lignin in original wood. The alkaline nitrobenzene oxidation analyses, however, exhibited much less oxidation product in the methanol-soluble portion and methanol-insoluble residue. These lines of evidence suggest that the ether linkages of lignin are preferentially cleaved during supercritical water treatment. To simulate the reaction of lignin, a study with lignin model compounds was performed;-O-4-type lignin model compounds were found to be cleaved, whereas biphenyl-type compounds were highly stable during supercritical water treatment. These results clearly indicated that the lignin-derived products, mainly consisting of condensed-type linkages of lignin due to the preferential degradation of the ether linkages of lignin, occurred during supercritical water treatment.This study was presented in part at the 45th lignin symposium, Ehime, Japan, October, 2000; and the 49th Annual Meeting of the Japan Wood Research Society, Tokyo, April 1988  相似文献

Softwood (Cryptomeria japonica) and hardwood (Fagus crenata) were treated in supercritical water (380°C, 100 MPa) for 8 s. The treated woods were fractionated to the water-soluble portion, methanol-soluble portion, and methanol-insoluble residues. For the methanol-soluble portion, which mainly consisted of lignin-derived products, gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) analyses were conducted to clarify the molecular weight distribution and to identify the monomeric products, respectively. GPC analysis revealed that the methanol-soluble portion contains monomeric and some oligomeric products. GC-MS analysis identified 19 guaiacyl compounds in the methanol-soluble portion from softwood, and 15 syringyl monomeric compounds in the methanol-soluble portion from hardwood. The structures of identified products included not only phenyl propane (C6—C3) units but also C6—C2 and C6—C1 units. In addition, the infrared spectra suggested that the methanol-soluble portion maintains the typical structure of lignin, although it is rich in condensed-type linkages with some changes in the propyl side chain. These results indicate that the supercritical water treatment cleaves not only ether linkages but also part of the propyl chains in lignin to give various aromatic compounds.  相似文献

To characterize the compounds in the methanol-soluble portion, gel permeation chromatographic (GPC) and gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) analyses were performed. The GPC analysis indicated that the methanol-soluble portion contained lignin-derived monomeric and dimeric products. GC-MS analysis detected 31 products which were expected to be monomeric compounds, and 18 of these were identified to be guaiacol, methylguaiacol, ethylguaiacol, vinylguaiacol, eugenol, propylguaiacol, vanillin, cis-isoeugenol, homovanillin, trans-isoeugenol, acetoguaiacone, propioguaiacone, guaiacylacetone, 2-methoxy-4-(1-hydroxypropyl)phenol, homovanillic acid, 2-methoxy-4-(prop-1-en-3-one)phenol, coniferyl aldehyde, and ferulic acid. In addition, 22 dimeric products were detected, and 4 of these were believed to be compounds with biphenyl type (5-5), diphenylethane type (-1), stilbene type (-1), and phenylcoumaran type (-5) structures. These results clearly indicated that the methanol-soluble portion included various monomeric and dimeric compounds produced as a result of the cleavage of ether linkages and propyl chains of lignin.  相似文献

Two-step hydrolysis of Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) was studied as treated by semi-flow hot-compressed water at 230°C/10 MPa for 15 min and 280°C/10 MPa for 30 min as the first and second stages, respectively. At the first stage, hemicelluloses and para-crystalline cellulose, whose crystalline structure is somewhat disordered, were found to be selectively hydrolyzed, as well as lignin decomposition, whereas crystalline cellulose occurred at the second stage. In all, 87.76% of Japanese cedar could be liquefied by hot-compressed water and was primarily recovered as various hydrolyzed products, dehydrated, fragmented, and isomerized compounds as well as organic acids in the water-soluble portion. The remainder, 12.24%, could not be hydrolyzed and remained as the water-insoluble residue composed entirely of lignin. Based on the distribution of various products from hemicelluloses in Japanese cedar, their decomposition pathways were proposed as independent.  相似文献

开发了一种新的生物质热解油精制方法。通过将生物质热解油加水预分离,得到水溶性组分和非水溶性组分分别加以利用。水溶性组分通过反应精馏的方法得到混合酯类化合物,收率21%(以生物原油计算)。非水溶性组分可以有两种方式进行加工利用:1)替代苯酚合成热塑性酚醛树脂,通过DSC性能分析,所合成的树脂满足常规树脂的应用要求;2)通过相转移催化法合成高品位液体燃料油,通过GC-MS分析,非水溶性组分中的羧基和酚羟基转化为相应的酯和醚类化合物,降低了生物油的酸性、提高了稳定性。  相似文献

Japanese beech (Fagus crenata) wood was treated by two-step semi-flow hot-compressed water (the first stage: 230 °C/10 MPa/15 min, the second stage: 270 °C/10 MPa/15 min), and produced lignin-derived products in the hot-compressed water-soluble portions at the first and second stages, and the final residue of the second stage was characterized with alkaline nitrobenzene oxidation method and gel permeation chromatographic analysis. As a result, the lignin-derived products at the first stage, where hemicellulose was also decomposed, consisted of lignin-based monomers and dimers and oligomers/polymers in the water-soluble portion. A large part of the oligomers/polymers was, however, recovered as the precipitate during 12 h setting after hot-compressed water treatment. By the analysis of nitrobenzene oxidation products, there were relatively higher contents of ether-type lignin in the precipitate at the first stage than in original beech wood. Since the ether linkages of lignin are more preferentially cleaved by this hot-compressed water, lignin-based polymeric fractions were flowed out from the porous cell walls from which hemicellulose was removed. On the other hand, at the second stage condensed-type lignin remained in the precipitate and residue. Based on these results, decomposition behavior of lignin in Japanese beech wood as treated by the two-step semi-flow hot-compressed water was discussed regarding the topochemistry of lignin structure.  相似文献

Many products and abundant wastes from tropical plantations, such as latex, palm oil, and coconut production due to replantation, are waiting effective utilization. Nonutilized tropical biomass — oil palm (Elaeis guneensis Jacq.), coconut (Cocos nucifera L.) coir dust and coir fiber, and rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) wood — were analyzed for chemical and structural characteristics of wall polysaccharides and lignin. Coconut coir dust is mostly composed of middle lamella and is separated from coir fiber, which is composed of secondary walls. These were supported by lignin content, and structural characteristics of wall polysaccharides and lignin. The chemical and spectroscopic characteristics of walls of rubber xylem were similar to those of typical temperate angiosperm woods. Oil palm frond was significantly rich in arabinoxylan, and numerous acetyl groups were substituted to the arabinoxylan. Lignin of oil palm frond and wall polysaccharides of coconut coir dust are substituted with hydroxybenzoic acids with ester and ether linkages. Some p-hydroxybenzoic acid substituted to the wall polymers of coconut coir dust would contribute to the formation of associations between polysaccharides and lignin. Based on the above results it is suggested that coconut coir fiber and rubber wood are suitable resources for chemical pulp production for paper-making, but oil palm frond is not.  相似文献

The carbohydrates content of the water soluble and water insoluble material of the oil and sago palm trunk waste were analysed. The sago palm trunk waste yielded higher water soluble content (17.4%) compared to the parenchymatous tissues and fibers of the oil palm trunk waste i.e. 3.3% and 5.4%, respectively, with less than 10% of neutral carbohydrates detected by cysteine sulphuric assay. However, hot water solubles of the sago palm trunk contained about 61.7% glucose. On the other hand, the acid hydrolysable carbohydrates of the water insoluble materials of both oil and sago palm trunk waste were found to be less than 50% of the total materials. The fibers and parenchyma of the oil palm trunk yielded only 31.9% and 23.6% hydrolysable sugars, respectively. Current Indonesian beef production only meets 45% of local demand. Increasing local beef production through integration of cattle production in pre-existing oil palm plantations is a possible solution to meeting this shortfall. The oil palm understorey provides feed, alleviating the need to convert additional land to agriculture. Smallholders are important contributors to both Indonesian cattle and palm oil production. This case study research seeks to understand key aspects of smallholder cattle management in palm oil production areas, to highlight opportunities and barriers to cattle integration. Thirty-nine smallholder cattle farmers from four villages in South Kalimantan were individually interviewed. The lack of alternative feed sources was the major driver towards the adoption of cattle production using oil palm understorey as feed. Cattle grazing was uncontrolled due to labour shortages and occurred in individually owned and ‘plasma’ plantations, with cattle penned at night where possible to avoid theft. Arrangements on land access and use between stakeholders are needed for systematic cattle grazing and to control cattle theft.

采用多级采样的方法研究了孟加拉国农村耕作区内棕榈树的传统利用模式和当地的管理经验。农民管理棕榈主要为获取树液产品,生产以糖为主的次生品。树液可直接用作饮料,也可加工成糖蜜或酒精饮料。7块不同地块为棕榈提供生长环境,20.40%的棕榈种植在果园内。尽管中等级的农民拥有多数棕榈(33%),但是主要管理棕榈的是没有土地的农民,他们靠棕榈维持生计。这些农民将自己的智慧应用到棕榈管理当中,从种植到开孔取树液再到产品加工。如果能更科学地管理棕榈,加上农民的智慧,棕榈业将会对当地经济发展起到重要作用,也会丰富当地生物多样性。  相似文献

Trembling aspen (Populus tremuloides Michx) bark was extracted with water and the crude extract fractionated with tert-butyl-methyl ether (TBME), ethyl acetate (EtOAc) and n-butanol (BuOH) to obtain four different fractions. The antioxidant properties of the bark hot water extracts and its fractions were determined by three in vitro experiments: DPPH assay, phosphomolybdenum assay and canola oil thermoxidation assay by DSC analysis. Most of the results of the reported tests showed that the crude hot water extract and its fractions exhibited a strong antioxidant activity, higher than the synthetic antioxidant BHT. The results of this study confirm that antioxidant activity is a property that strongly depends on the oxidation conditions used in the particular oxidation test. Among the fractions separated from the aqueous extracts of bark, BuOH, TBME and EtOAc soluble fractions exhibited the best antioxidant efficiency, in phosphomolybdenum assay, DPPH assay and canola oil thermoxidation, respectively. Total phenol, flavonoid and flavanol contents were also evaluated and the results confirmed that the polyphenols contained in the hot water extract of this bark are mainly composed of non-flavonoid compounds.  相似文献

A study was conducted to explore the traditional utilization pattern and indigenous management practices of wild date palm (Phoenix sylvestris Roxb) in the rural agrarian regions of Bangladesh. A multistage sampling method with 10% intensity and a semi-structured questionnaire were used for the study. The farmers manage the palm mainly for sap production with which sugar based secondary goods are manufactured. The sap is either used fresh as drink or after some sort of processing as molasses and/or alcoholic beverage. Seven diversified sites support the palm as its habitat and most palms (20.40%) occur in orchards. Besides growing naturally, the palm is also established in orchards using the wildings as the staple planting material. Although the medium category farmers own most of the palms (33%), a considerable portion (28.68%) of it is managed by the landless farmers, who earn a substantial livelihood from the palms. The farmers practice their own indigenous wisdom in every stage of the palm's maintenance from planting through tapping for sap collec- tion to the processing of products. If managed more scientifically on a sustainable basis with the collaboration of farmers' indigenou~ knowledge, this familiar palm could be able to support the rural economy of the country to a great extent. Side by side, it would also be able to contribute to the richness of biodiversity in the region.  相似文献

Ethanol was produced from the hydrolysate collected as a water-soluble (WS) portion and a residue after hot-compressed water (HCW) treatment of Japanese beech with and without fractionation. Simultaneous saccharification with β-xylosidase and isomerization with xylose isomerase followed by fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae were applied to the WS portion; simultaneous saccharification with cellulase and fermentation with S. cerevisiae was applied to the residue. Integration of the processes for the WS portion and the residue was investigated to improve the conversion efficiency throughout the whole process. The ethanol yield in the integrated process without fractionation was comparable with that for the process with fractionation. Ethanol yields were improved for both of the processes by modifying the operation pattern in which cellulase was added prior to fermentation of the residue.  相似文献

Methanol extractives from moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) culms were found to have some regulation effects on the growth of the seed plants tested. They showed inhibition or promotion of hypocotyl and radicle growth of lettuce, watercress, and chrysanthemum. The methanol extractives were fractionated with n-hexane, diethyl ether, and ethyl acetate. The diethyl ether-soluble fraction contained more phenolic substances than the other fractions and showed strong inhibition of growth in lettuce seeds. The water-soluble fraction showed a promotion effect on the hypocotyl growth of lettuce. The water-soluble fraction was heated at 200°C for 8h, and the inhibition effect on the radicle growth of lettuce decreased and the promotion effect on the hypocotyl growth increased at 0.1% concentration. Oil production from oil palm is adversely affected by drought and salt. Under drought and salt stress, proline content increases in oil palm; the mechanism for this is unknown. Here, an 8319-nucleotide sequence including cDNA, genomic DNA and the promoter region of proline transporter gene from oil palm Elaeis guineensis was determined. The transporter gene exhibited high similarity to Bet/ProT genes from several plants, but the highest homology was found with rice ProT1. The exon-intron structure of genomic DNA was unique, and numerous stress-response cis-elements were found in the promoter region. Expression of cDNA EgProT1 in Escherichia coli mutant exhibited uptake activities for glycinebetaine and choline as well as proline. Under salt-stressed conditions, exogenously applied glycinebetaine was taken up into the root more rapidly than the control. These data indicate that oil palm has a unique Pro/T1 gene. Indonesia has been the world’s largest producer and exporter of palm oil since 2008. This paper discussed the livelihood impacts of oil palm development in Indonesia, based on lessons learnt from Bungo district, in the province of Jambi. The various community-company partnerships that structure the sector are reviewed and the difficulties raised by the joint ventures schemes are discussed. The merits and drawbacks of oil palm as a smallholder crop are then analysed, based on household socio-economic surveys conducted in 2007–2010. The main causes of conflicts between oil palm companies and communities are unclear land tenure, and a recurrent lack of leadership in smallholders’ cooperatives. Under fair partnerships between smallholders and companies, oil palm could become a smallholder friendly crop. The land-use profitability analysis demonstrates the high returns that can be generated by oil palm independent smallholdings, making it highly competitive with rubber, and much more profitable than rice production.  相似文献

A two-step hydrolysis of Japanese beech (Fagus crenata) was conducted by semi-flow treatment with hot-compressed water. The first treatment stage was conducted at 230°C/10 MPa for 15 min and the second at 270°C/10 MPa for 15 min. Hemicellulose and lignin were found to be hydrolyzed in the first stage, while crystalline cellulose was hydrolyzed in the second stage. The treatment solubilized 95.6% of the Japanese beech wood flour into water with 4.4% remaining as water-insoluble residue, which was composed mainly of lignin. Hydrolysis products from the first stage were xylose and xylo-oligosaccharides, glucuronic acid and acetic acid from O-acetyl-4-O-methylglucuronoxylan, and hydrolyzed monomeric guaiacyl and syringyl units and their dimeric condensed-type units from lignin. Products from the second hydrolysis stage were glucose and cello-oligosaccharides from cellulose. The dehydrated products levoglucosan, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), and furfural, as well as fragmented products glycolaldehyde, methylglyoxal, and erythrose, were recovered in the first stage from hemicellulose, and to a greater extent in the second stage from cellulose. Furthermore, organic acids such as glycolic, formic, acetic, and lactic acids were recovered in both stages. Based on these lines of evidence, decomposition pathways of O-acetyl-4-O-methylglucuronoxylan and cellulose are independently proposed.  相似文献

To elucidate the decomposition behaviors of lignin from different taxonomic groups, five different lignocellulosics were treated with hot-compressed water (230 °C/10 MPa/15 min) to fractionate lignins into water-soluble portions, precipitates, and insoluble residues. The lignin-derived products in each fraction were characterized and compared. The delignification of monocotyledons [nipa palm (Nypa fruticans) frond, rice (Oryza sativa) straw, and corn (Zea mays) cob] was more extensive than that achieved for Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica, gymnosperm) and Japanese beech (Fagus crenata, dicotyledon angiosperm). The water-soluble portions contained lignin monomers like coniferyl alcohol and phenolic acids, while the precipitates contained higher molecular weight lignin with high content of ether-type linkages. Lignin in the insoluble residues was rich in condensed-type structures. In all five lignocellulosics, ether-type linkages were preferentially cleaved, while condensed-type lignin showed resistance to hot-compressed water. In the monocotyledons, lignin–carbohydrate complexes were cleaved and gave lignins that had higher molecular weights than those eluted from the woods. These differences would facilitate the delignification in monocotyledons. Such information provides useful information for efficient utilization of various lignocellulosics.  相似文献
