The bioavailability of threonine in soybean meal and the effects of the excess amino acids in soybean meal on the estimate were measured using rats and chicks in slope-ratio assays. In Exp. 1, a corn-based diet containing .23% threonine was supplemented with 0 to 45% L-threonine in .05% increments. The growth rate of weanling rats fed these diets increased quadratically (P less than .001) with L-threonine addition, the increase being essentially linear up to the .10% addition. In Exp. 2, the basal diet was supplemented with 0, .025, .050, .075, or 100% threonine from L-threonine, simulated soybean meal (a mixture of crystalline amino acids with a pattern designed to simulate soybean meal), or soybean meal. Regressions of partitioned weight gain and body N gain of rats vs supplemental threonine intake were calculated for each source using multiple regression. Slope ratios (soybean meal:L-threonine) were .91 for weight gain and .92 for body N gain. The additional amino acids in simulated soybean meal did not affect the estimate. For Exp. 3, a corn-soybean meal-based diet containing .48% threonine was supplemented with 0 to 60% L-threonine in .10% increments. The growth rate of broiler chicks fed the diets increased quadratically (P less than .001) with L-threonine addition. The increase was essentially linear up to the .10% addition. In Exp. 4, the basal diet was supplemented as in Exp. 2. Regressions of partitioned weight gain of chicks vs supplemental threonine intake were calculated for each source. The slope ratio for soybean meal:L-threonine was 1.03; however, the model exhibited fundamental invalidity and therefore the estimate should be interpreted with caution. The additional amino acids in the simulated soybean meal did not affect the value.  相似文献

1. Two experiments were carried out to determine the response of broiler chicks to threonine‐supplemented diets between 10 and 28 d and 7 and 21 d of age, respectively.

2. In the first experiment female broiler chicks were fed on 11 experimental diets. Two iso‐energetic basal diets (diets 1 and 2) were prepared with 200 and 160 g CP/kg and 7·6 and 6·0 g threonine/kg respectively. Both diets contained 11·5 g lysine and 8·7 g sulphur‐containing amino acids/kg. Diet 3 was composed of diet 2, supplemented with all essential and non‐essential amino acids (EAA and NEAA, respectively) except threonine, to the concentrations of the amino acids in diet 1. The NEAA were added as a combination of glutamic acid and glycine. Diets 4 to 11 had the same compositions as diet 3, but contained increasing amounts of threonine.

3. For birds fed on diet 2, gain was significantly lower and food/gain ratio was significantly higher than for birds fed on diet 1. Supplementation with EAA, NEAA and threonine to the same concentrations in diet 1 resulted in a performance similar to that found on diet 1.

4. In experiment 2, male and female broiler chicks both received 10 experimental diets. Diet 1 contained 220 g CP/kg and 8.5 g threonine/kg, diet 2 contained 160 g CP/kg from natural raw materials and 6 g threonine/kg. Both diets contained 12·4 g lysine and 9·3 g sulphur‐containing amino acids/kg. Basal diet 2 was supplemented with all EAA and NEAA to the concentrations of basal diet 1, except for threonine. Diets 3 to 10 had the same compositions as the supplemented diet 2, but contained increasing amounts of threonine.

5. For male and female chicks on diet 2, gain was significantly lower and food/gain ratio significantly higher than those on diet 1. Diet 10 (160 g CP/kg plus all EAA, including threonine, and NEAA supplemented to the concentrations of diet 1) resulted in the same performance as diet 1.

6. The results indicate that, when low protein maize‐soyabean meal diets supplemented with EAA and NEAA with 13·31 MJ ME/kg were fed to male and female broiler chicks until 21 d of age, improvements in gain and food/gain ratio were obtained when the dietary threonine content was increased to 7·25 g/kg. When female chicks were fed threonine‐supplemented diets to 28 d of age, improvement in gain and food/gain ratio was obtained when the threonine concentrations were increased to 6·32 g/kg diet.

7. Curves have been fitted to the data, from which a cost‐benefit analyses can be made and an optimum threonine dose calculated, using local prices.  相似文献

This study was conducted to determine the optimal ratio between sulphur containing amino acids and lysine in diets for growing-finishing pigs. Therefore, a total of five trials was carried out in which growing-finishing pigs (live weight range between 53 and 105 kg) were fed diets with various concentrations of lysine (0.62, 0.70 and 0.78%) and various ratios between sulphur containing amino acids to lysine. The diets contained 12.9 MJ ME per kg and 13.5% CP; the ratio between sulphur containing amino acids to lysine was adjusted by individual supplementation of the diets with DL-methionine. Increasing dietary levels of lysine from 0.62 to 0.78% continuously increased daily body weight gains and improved feed conversion efficiency as well as carcass characteristics. There was no significant interaction between the dietary lysine supply and the ratio between sulphur containing amino acids to lysine on animal performance parameters. This means that the effect of the ratio of sulphur containing amino acids to lysine was similar for various dietary lysine concentrations. The optimum ratio between sulphur containing amino acids to lysine according to quadratic regression analysis was 0.60, for both, growth and feed conversion. Reducing the ratio between sulphur containing amino acids to lysine from 0.59 to 0.53 and 0.47 reduced body weight by 3 and 12%, resp., and elevated the feed conversion ratio by 2 and 12%, resp. An increase of the ratio between sulphur containing amino acids to lysine from 0.59 to 0.65 failed to increase the animal performance. In contrast to animal performance parameters, optimum carcass characteristics (eye muscle area, fat area above eye muscle, meat-fat ratio and lean percentage) were achieved already at a ratio of sulphur containing amino acids to lysine of 0.53.  相似文献

A series of N balance experiments using growing pigs was conducted to study the efficiency of utilization of lysine, threonine, sulphur amino acids and tryptophan and to estimate their maintenance requirements. Purified diets based on casein and crystalline amino acids as the sole source of N contained graded levels of each amino acid, corresponding to expected protein accretion rate of 0, 33, 66, 99 and 132 g/day, respectively. N retention increased linearly (p < 0.01) as the dietary concentration of the limiting amino acid increased. Based on linear regression equations relating amino acid deposition in body protein to amino acid intake, marginal efficiencies of ileal digestible amino acid utilization were calculated to be lysine 0.91, threonine 0.83, sulphur amino acids 0.85 and tryptophan 0.66. Extrapolating the regression equations to zero N retention, the daily requirements of amino acids for N equilibrium were estimated to be (mg/kg(0.75)) lysine 39, threonine 49, sulphur amino acids 46 and tryptophan 16.  相似文献

1. Two studies were conducted to evaluate the effects of relative deficiencies of methionine and threonine on the growth performance of 8- to 21-d-old chicks fed on isoenergetic diets containing a wide range of crude protein (CP) concentrations from dehulled soyabean meal (SBM). 2. Chicks fed on graded levels of SBM containing supplemental methionine and threonine (BAL) accreted whole-body protein more efficiently (P < 0.05) than those receiving graded levels of unsupplemented SBM (DEF), and superior (P < 0.05) growth performance was also obtained at lower CP levels when chicks were fed on the BAL diets. 3. Voluntary food intake increased between 30 and 220 g CP/kg in chicks fed on DEF diets, whereas food intake of chicks fed on BAL diets increased only between 30 and 100 g CP/kg, after which it decreased between 100 and 220 g CP/kg. 4. Protein efficiency ratio (g gain per g protein intake) decreased with each incremental increase in CP between 30 and 260 g CP/kg, regardless of whether diets were BAL or DEE 5. These data indicate that maintaining a balanced ratio of amino acids is a preferable approach when poultry producers are interested in employing low CP diets for economic, physiological or environmental reasons.  相似文献

Two N balance experiments were conducted on growing pigs to study the effect of essential and nonessential amino acids added to a protein-free diet on N retention. In Expt. 1, the addition of sulphur amino acids, threonine and tryptophan to a protein-free diet at levels two times the maintenance requirements reduced (p > 0.1) daily N loss from –131 to –108 mg/kg0.75. A further addition of nonessential amino acids equivalent to 250 mg N/kg0.75/d resulted in a marked increase (p < 0.01) in daily N retention to 28 mg/kg0.75. In Expt. 2, nonessential amino acids were added to a protein-free diet supplemented with sulphur amino acids, threonine and tryptophan at levels corresponding to 100, 200 and 300 mg N/kg0.75/d. N retention increased linearly as dietary nonessential N increased. The slope of the best-fit regression line indicated that the marginal efficiency of nonessential N utilization for protein accretion was 0.26. The results suggest that nonessential amino acids may be a limiting factor for the re-utilization of amino acids released by body protein breakdown or that they may serve as precursors for de novo synthesis of amino acids by gut microorganisms, thus contributing to the amino acid requirements of the pig.  相似文献

An experiment was conducted to determine apparent metabolizable energy (AME) and amino acid requirements of growing Japanese quail based on ideal protein concept using artificial neural network and desirability function (D‐ANN). Seven‐day‐old quail chicks were assigned to nine experimental diets based on central composite design (CCD) containing five levels of AME (2809–3091 kcal/kg) and CP (19–24.8% of diet). The ratio of lysine (Lys) to CP was set at 0.053 among all treatments, and remaining essential amino acids (EAA) were adjusted to Lys. The experimental data of CCD were fitted to D‐ANN model to compute the optimal values for independent variables. The optimal values of inputs including AME, CP, digestible Lys (dLys), methionine (dMet), total sulphur amino acids (dTSAA), threonine (dThr), tryptophan (dTrp), isoleucine (dIle), valine (dVal) and arginine (dArg) for maximizing gain and minimizing feed conversion ratio were estimated at 2865 kcal/kg, 25, 1.32, 0.55, 0.88, 0.84, 0.20, 0.75, 1.04 and 1.45% of diet, respectively, with D (desirability function) = 0.94. The corresponding optimal amounts of amino acids based on total amino acids were 1.42, 0.59, 0.95, 0.90, 0.22, 0.81, 1.12 and 1.56% of diet respectively. The ideal pattern of essential amino acids to Lys was as follows: dMet: dLys = 0.42, dTSAA: dLys = 0.67, dThr: dLys = 0.64, dTrp: dLys = 0.15, dIle: dLys = 0.57, dVal: dLys = 0.79 and dArg: dLys = 1.09. The results of this study showed that amino acid requirements of modern quails might be higher than those reported by NRC.  相似文献

1. This study examined optimal lysine and sulphur amino acid supply in the first week posthatch in broilers and the relationship between essential amino acids and dietary crude protein during the first week posthatch on performance at 7 d and through marketing. 2. The optimal supply during the 7 d posthatch using a 230 g/kg crude protein diet for sulphur amino acids was 9.1 and for lysine was 10.3-10.8 g/kg with maximal body weight (BW) or feed efficiency as the criteria. 3. Feeding diets with crude protein content ranging from 200 to 260 g/kg with either constant amounts of essential amino acids at different crude protein levels or constant ratios of essential amino acids to crude protein resulted in enhanced performance at 7 but not at 4 d with high protein intake and proportionally increased essential amino acids. 4. Performance on diets with crude protein ranging from 160 to 280 g/kg, with constant ratios of essential amino acid to crude protein, was much enhanced with the high crude protein diets at 7 d. All chicks were transferred to standard diets after 7 d and the BW advantage due to the balanced amino acid-high crude protein diet remained through marketing. 5. Thus increasing essential amino acids in a constant ratio to crude protein enhanced performance during the 7 d posthatch.  相似文献

1. Diets 50% deficient in single essential amino acids were fed to chicks from day 8 to day 18 after hatching to evaluate body-weight gain, food consumption, body composition, nitrogen (N) and energy utilisation. 2. Body-weight gain was reduced most severely by deficiency of isoleucine followed in decreasing order by threonine, arginine, valine, histidine, tryptophan, methionine plus cystine, phenylalanine plus tyrosine, leucine and lysine, and possible reasons for the differences are discussed. 3. Body-weight gain and food efficiency were highly correlated with food consumption but metabolisable energy value of diets was not affected by single essential amino acid deficiencies. 4. Generally N retention (N retained/N consumed) and energy retention (energy retained/energy consumed) reflected food consumption, except for a lower N retention by chicks fed on the methionine plus cystine-deficient diet and for a lower energy retention by chicks fed on the valine deficient diet. 5. The amino acid deficient in the diet was present at very low concentration in the blood plasma.  相似文献

A fattening trial was carried out with 8 groups of broilers each comprising 1225 birds. Within this trial tests were made to replace the protein feeds of newly hatched chicks over a period of up to 56 days of age, by wheat rich in crude protein. If wheat with a high crude protein content is fed supplementation with lysine and methionine will be necessary depending on the kind of protein feed used. No supplementation with amino acids is required if rations of fish meal + extracted soya bean meal are used despite their reduced content of these amino acids. The broilers consumed larger quantities of the wheat + extracted soya bean meal+fish meal ration than of the mixtures containing no fish meal. Food requirements per unit of weight gain were the same for the mixtures containing high-protein wheat and for the standard maize ration. The lowest food consumption per unit of weight gain was computed for the wheat + extracted soya bean meal diet supplemented with amino acids. The same quantities of lysine, thioamino acids and threonine were necessary for broilers receiving the wheat rations as for birds of the standard group. Protein feed may be saved by using high-protein wheat in the fattening of broilers. The rates of weight gain obtained with these rations are the same or even better than those achieved with rations of maize + fish meal+soya bean meal.  相似文献

Oat flour, the by-product resulting from commercial production of oat bran, was analyzed to contain 7.7% moisture, 11% CP, 6% crude fat, 8.8% NDF, 1.56% ash (.10% Ca, .23% P), 4,265 kcal/kg GE, .41% lysine, .36% threonine, .17% tryptophan, .21% methionine and .34% cystine. Chick bioassays revealed that lysine and threonine were the first- and second-limiting amino acids in oat flour. Slope-ratio protein quality assessment indicated that the protein quality of oat flour was similar to that of dehulled soybean meal. True ME (corrected for N retention, i.e., TMEn) of oat flour for adult cockerels was 3,726 kcal/kg. A P bioavailability assay with chicks indicated that the P in oat flour was 59.7% bioavailable relative to a KH2PO4 standard. Oat bran was analyzed to contain 9.7% moisture, 15% CP, 6.2% crude fat, 19.2% NDF, 2.33% ash (.12% Ca, .41% P), 4,316 kcal/kg GE, .59% lysine, .47% threonine, .18% tryptophan, .24% methionine and .44% cystine. Protein quality assessment in chicks indicated that the protein quality of oat bran was similar to that of dehulled soybean meal. True MEn of oat bran was found to be 3,449 kcal/kg. Of the .41% total phosphorus in oat bran, 42.2% was bioavailable, relative to the KH2PO4 standard.  相似文献

Requirement for dietary lysine and arginine by fry of rainbow trout   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Triplicate lots of fry of rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) were fed a basal diet (47% protein) containing 67% corn gluten meal with and without a mixture of essential amino acids. The composition of the mixture was based on the differences between the amino acid contents of corn gluten meal and trout eggs. Fry fed the basal diet without added essential amino acids gained little weight, suffered high mortality and had eroded caudal fins. Addition of the mixture of amino acids (lysine, arginine, histidine, isoleucine, threonine, valine and tryptophan) significantly improved weight gain and prevented nearly all mortality and fin erosion. Single deletions of the amino acids valine, tryptophan, threonine, histidine and isoleucine had no significant effect on weight gain but the deletion of lysine alone significantly reduced weight gain and caused fin erosion and mortality. Deletion of arginine reduced weight gain (P less than .05), but did not cause mortality or fin erosion. Feeding graded levels of each of these two amino acids showed that the minimum lysine requirement for maximum growth was about 6.1% of protein, and the minimum arginine requirement was between 5.4 and 5.9% of protein. The lysine requirements for prevention of fin erosion and mortality appeared to be lower than that for maximum weight gain.  相似文献

1. Two experiments were carried out to study the relationship between growth, liver aspartate aminotransferase (Asp AT) and dietary pyridoxine to determine the pyridoxine requirement of chicks fed on diets containing crystalline essential amino acids with glutamic acid (GA) or diammonium citrate (DAHC) as the non-essential nitrogen source. 2. In one experiment purified diets containing isolated soy-protein with 0 or 3 mg pyridoxine/kg were used. The deficient chicks were significantly lighter, coverted food less efficiently and liver Asp AT activity was decreased. When deficient chicks were offered an adequate diet performance improved and Asp AT activity rapidly increased. 3. In the second experiment diets containing crystalline amino acids GA or DAHC combined with 0, 1 or 3 mg pyridoxine/kg (GA: 0, GA: 1, GA: 3, DAHC: 1, DAHC:3) were used. Growth rates of chicks fed on GA: 1 and GA: 3 were similar, whereas chicks fed on DAHC: 1 were significantly lighter than those given DAHC: 3. The growth data indicated a pyridoxine requirement for chicks fed on the GA diets of not more than 1mg/kg and of more than 1 mg/kg in those fed on diets containing DAHC. Asp AT activity varied significantly with dietary content of pyridoxine but not with the nitrogen source. When Asp AT activity was used to assess pyridoxine requirements, there was nof difference between chicks fed on GA or DAHC diets.

Urease activity was found in caecal contents (about 10 mg urea metabolised/g h) and crop contents (about 0-5 mg urea metabolised/g h):there was very low activity in the contents of the colon but none in the rest of the digestive tract. 2. The urease activity of the crop contents was not bacterial in origin but the soyabean meal contained in the diet was found to have comparable activity. 3. Diets low in non-essential nitrogen and based on soyabean, fish meal or fish meal plus 0-2% jack bean urease, did not support higher growth rates when supplemented with urea. 4. The livers of chicks fed on the diet containing fish meal, urea and urease had significantly higher concentrations of free non-essential amino acids than those of chicks fed on the same diet but with urease excluded This suggested that dietary urease affects the availability of ammonia for the synthesis of non-essential amino acids but not for growth.  相似文献

The digestibility of amino acids in sow's milk consumed by young pigs is currently unknown because of difficulties associated with collecting an adequate quantity of milk, and also problems in cannulating suckling pigs. A total of 14 kg of sow's milk was collected, two soluble indigestible markers (Co-EDTA and YbC13) were added, and the milk was fed to four pigs at 17 d of age that were fitted with a simple T-cannula at the terminal ileum. Another four cannulated pigs were offered a similar amount of a 20% DM liquid diet based on enzymatically hydrolyzed casein and lactose to assess endogenous amino acid losses. All pigs were fed about 875 g of each diet per day in 10 hourly meals from 0700 to 1700. Following 2 d of adaptation, ileal digesta were collected from 0800 to 1800 for 2 d. Diets and digesta were analyzed for amino acids using appropriate hydrolysis and preoxidation procedures. Average nitrogen true digestibility was 88%, whereas amino acid true digestibilities ranged from 84% (cystine and threonine) to 100% (methionine, histidine, and glutamic acid); the average for all amino acids was 92 +/- 4%. Based on average values, true digestibility of essential amino acids was not different from that of nonessential amino acids (P > 0.10). In whole milk, amino acids found in abundance in whey proteins (i.e., cystine, glycine, and threonine) were less (P < 0.05) digestible than amino acids predominating in casein proteins (i.e., glutamic acid, proline, and methionine). When true ileal digestible amino acid concentrations in sow's milk were expressed as ratios to digestible lysine, it appeared that threonine, tryptophan, and arginine were lower than what might be considered optimal. In conclusion, amino acids in sow's milk were highly digestible, but most of the amino acids had true ileal digestibility values significantly less than 100%.  相似文献

1. The aim of this study was to determine the nitrogen balance and the performance of laying hens fed on diets with a protein content lower than the diets currently used in commercial practice but with adequate concentrations of lysine, sulphur amino acids, tryptophan and threonine. 2. Ninety-six Hy-Line Brown hens, 24 weeks old, were divided into 3 groups of 8 replicates and received, for 16 weeks, diets formulated to have 3 different protein concentrations: 170 (control), 150 and 130 g/kg CP and the same energy content. For each protein concentration, the contents of lysine, methionine, methionine+cystine, tryptophan and threonine were maintained at minimum requirement concentrations by supplying synthetic amino acids. 3. In the first half of the trial, egg production and egg weight were similar in all groups. From the 9th week onwards group 150 CP laid heavier eggs and had a slightly lower egg deposition and total mass. Food conversion ratio was best in the control group. 4. Nitrogen intake was related to the protein concentration of the diet, the food intake being almost the same in the 3 experimental groups. Faecal nitrogen content significantly and linearly decreased with reduction in dietary protein content and was about 50% of the intake. Considering the nitrogen faecal/intake ratio, the 150 CP group showed better nitrogen utilisation at each sampling time.  相似文献

1. The sulphur amino acid requirements of White Leghorn‐type laying hens were determined in two 52‐week experiments using diets based on maize and soyabean meal providing from 5.0 to 6.5 g sulphur amino acids/kg, 12.35 MJ ME/kg and 8.6 to 8.8 g lysine/kg. There were six replicates of 15 individually‐caged hens each per treatment.

2. A requirement of approximately 775 to 800 mg sulphur amino acids /hen d, of which about 390 to 440 mg was methionine, was found for a maximum of 80 to 83 eggs/100 hen d. There were indications that the requirement for maximum egg production was less than that for maximum efficiency of food utilisation.

3. Diets containing 138 g protein/kg supplemented with methionine and lysine supported production and food utilisation as effectively as a diet containing 167 g protein/kg.  相似文献

1. The apparent and true amino acid digestibilities in sorghum, wheat, soyabean meal, meat-and-bone meal, fish meal and blood meal for growing meat chickens were determined using an assay based on the collection of digesta from the terminal ileum and comparison was made with digestibility values determined using an excreta-based assay. 2. Five-week-old meat chickens were given maize-soyabean meal basal diet or mixtures of the basal diet and test diets containing the 6 ingredients as the sole source of dietary protein (50:50 on weight basis). Apparent amino acid digestibility values of assay diets at ileal and excreta levels were calculated using chromic oxide as the indigestible marker. True digestibility values were calculated using endogenous outputs determined by feeding a protein-free diet. Amino acid digestibilities of the ingredients were calculated by difference. 3. The site of measurement had no influence on endogenous amino acid output, the exceptions being aspartic acid and glutamic acid. The output of these two amino acids was higher in the excreta. 4. Significant differences were found between ileal and excreta-based digestibility of certain amino acids in some ingredients, with excreta values being usually higher than the ileal values, indicating a net catabolism of amino acids in the large intestine. The degree of net amino acid disappearance was found to be variable among amino acids and ingredients. In general, threonine had the lowest digestibility at the ileal level and, compared with other amino acids, the highest degredation during passage through the hindgut. 5. The results showed that digestibility determination based on excreta collection will overestimate the uptake for some amino acids in some feeds. The degree of overestimation was often considerable, ranging from 8.9% (apparent digestibility of threonine in soyabean meal) to 56% (apparent digestibility of aspartic acid in wheat). It is concluded that digestibility values measured at the terminal ileum provide a more reliable measure of amino acid availability than those measured in the excreta.  相似文献
