Abstract:Coccophagus japonicus Compere and Scutellista caerulea Fonscolombe is the endoparasitic and ectoparasitic natural enemy of Parasaissetia nigra Nietner, respectively. To clarify the effects of host ages, parasitic wasp ratios, and temperature on the control effectiveness of the two wasps parasitizing P. nigra, an orthogonal experiment with 3 factors and 5 levels was conducted. The results showed that all the three factors (host ages, parasitic wasp ratios, and temperature) affected the combined control effectiveness of these two wasps. Among all the three factors, parasitic wasp ratio has the most significant effect on their control effectiveness followed by the temperature and host ages, respectively. The optimal treatment was 1 nymph:1 adult, only releasing C. japonicus at 27℃. The study aims at providing a solid foundation for the combined release of these two wasps in the fields to control P. nigra.
