Abstract:Phosphorus (P) is one of the essential elements for plant growth and development. However the soluble and available P in soilfor plant to absorb is very limited, the ratio of effective inorganic phosphorus is about 2%~3 % of the total phosphorus.According to the status quo of lacking effective phosphorus and abundant potential phosphorus resources in soil, the topic ofdeveloping and utilizing phosphate-soluble microorganisms (PSMs) becomes a research hot spot in soil fertilizer and plantnutrition area. This paper summarized the present situation of phosphate-soluble microorganisms (PSMs), their species,distribution, and mechanism; prospects some problems existing in present research activities.
