Abstract: | Fluoroquinolones (FQs) as one kind of antibiotics, are widely used for prophylaxis and treatment of intestinal diseases, respiratory illnesses and so on. However, the significant progressive increase of their use caused inevitable residues in food that represent a potential health hazard for consumers and drug resistance bacteria. Therefore, it is important to find a fast and reliable analytical method for sensitive determination of fluoroquinolones. Detection objects include fluoroquinolones in food, blood and urine. This review summarized the recent progress of the latest methods for detecting fluoroquinolones over the last three years, which including electrochemical method, high performance liquid chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, fluorescence polarization immunoassay, capillary electrophoretic immunoassay-laser induced fluorescence, upconversion fluorescence resonance energy transfer immunoassay, surface plasmon resonance sensor, thin layer chromatography and so on. The advantages and disadvantages of the above methods are also analysed in this review. Furthermore, the development trend of the methods for the determination of fluoroquinolones is discussed. |
