Abstract:FRZB gene regulates cell growth by inhibiting Wnt signaling pathway, ABCF1( also known as ABC50: ATPbinding cassette 50) binds to eukaryotic initiation factor 2(e IF2) and is required for efficient translation initiation, so they can be selected as candidate genes for growth trait. In this study, we detected the genotype of two SNPs in 5 ′-UTR of FRZB and ABCF1 gene by sequencing in pig population and analyzed the effects of the genotype on growth traits. The results showed that the locus of A-532 G of FRZB gene in American Large White pigs was significantly associated with back fat thickness(P<0.01), and the body length was closed to significant level(P=0.05). For the locus of 254 A/G of ABCF1 gene, there were significantly associated with the back fat thickness, left and right nipple of teat number in American Large White pigs(P<0.05), and the birth weight in France Large White pigs(P<0.05). These results suggest that FRZB and ABCF1 may be the major candidate genes for growth traits in pigs.
