An example of whole farm consultation in Australia

Abstract:Extract

The training and activities of the veterinarian have been directed basically towards the diagnosis and treatment of the diseased or injured animal with an ever-increasing interest in preventive medicine. However, very few veterinarians have developed an interest in the whole flock or herd concept, or in the individual property as an economic unit. Very few indeed have developed this approach as a major component of a professional practice. There is an increasing demand for this type of service and increasing evidence of the willingness of the producer to pay for this advice.
