The Fiber Component of Depressor Nerve in the Rabbit with Horseradish Peroxidase

The depressor nerve was studied by horseradish peroxidase method. The result was as follows: The labelled afferent neuron mainly located in the distal ganglion of Vagus. A few of afferent neuron were in proximal ganglion of vagus. The sensory terminal projected to ventral and internal parts of solitary nucleus at the level above obex and the dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus. Labelled cells also were seen in Cranial cervical ganglion (CCG). This fact shows that containing sympathetic postganglion fiber come from CCG in depressor nerve. The aortal baroreceptor is innorvated by the sensoryfiber which comes, from the depressor nerve, and sympathetic postganglion fiber which comes from CCG.
