| Abstract: | 【Objective】It was to seek the most suitable breeds to improve the local beef cattle in the central plains by comparing the semen quality of Xianan cattle and Charolais.【Method】Five Xianan cattle and five Charolais bulls originated from France were selected to compare semen quality,such as semen yield,sperm density,sperm activity,sperm tube yield,thawing activity,sperm deformity rate.【Result】The result showed that semen quality of Xianan bulls was significant higher than that of Charolais.【Conclusion】Xianan bulls were more suitable for the climatic conditions of central plains,and its production performance was superior than that of Charolais.The frozen semen used to improve beef cattle had a good extension future. |
