Review of the 11th Five-Year Plan and Prospect of the 12th Five-Year Plan of Zhejiang Silkworm Egg Industry

During the period of ＂llth Five-Year Plan＂, a gradually declining trend of Zhejiang sericulture industry appeared by the influence of fluctuations in cocoon and silk market. The production quantity of silkworm egg reduced with the decrease of quantity demanded in rural areas, but a basic balance was finally got between production and sales of silkworm eggs. Remarkable results were achieved in legal management, foundation strengthening, standard improvement, reserve creation, quality management enhancing and other aspects. Into the ＂12th Five-Year Plan＂, facing new issues on supply support, Zhejiang silkworm egg industry should take measures on implementing the silkworm egg management regulation, developing the construction of standard silkworm base, carrying out technology upgrade project and other aspects to ensure the supply of good-quality silkworm eggs.
