Abstract:Dejiang is the main producing area of Gastrodia elata in Guizhou Province. In recent years, seriously brown rot of G. elata rhizomes occurred in Dejiang, which caused great economic losses to local G. elata production. This study was to isolate and identify the causal agent of brown rot of G. elata. Pathogens were isolated from 96 rotten rhizomes of G. elata, and 61 fungal isolates were obtained from diseased samples with the same morphological characteristics. The pathogen was identified as Fusarium oxysporum based on morphological characteristics, pathogenicity test, and homology analysis of the ITS and ACT sequences. The result will promote further research and it is helpful for formulating strategies to control brown rot of G. elata.
