| Abstract: | his paper is divided into four parts dealing wyth the impacts of global warming onthe hydrological regime of Ordos region. Part one gives the relationship between theclimate and hydrological regime in the Ordos region.Part two reviews the patterns of dryness/wetness and cold/warm in different timescales.The Ordos climate scenario was warm and wet in the Altithermal Period of theHolocene Epoch and warm/dry and cold/wet in the Little Ice Age,The observed data overthe last 40 years showed that the regional climate is being warmer and drier.In the third part,the author ansalyze the consequences of global warming on theOrdos hydrologicat regime. The temperature of Ordos will increase with the globalwarming and the precipitation will exists uncertainy. The potential evapotranspiratiori willgreatly increase,but the actual evapotranspiration changes will be determined byprecipitation and soil moisture.The runoff and soil moisture will be the same as today orslightly decrease. The hydrological changes will affect the agricuiture,animal husbandry,Industry and regional economic development. |
